R.I.P. Video #20: Decky Boy

Recorded October 31, 2011

Broadcasting from my car in Northeast PA, it's FrankieThaLuckyDog, unfortunately reporting another loss on Saturday, October 29, 2011; this time, in tha Louisiana rap community. Dexter Platt, known in tha Boot as Decky Boy, or just Decky, was pronounced dead. Currently, tha cause of tha death iz to be determined; he was only 35 years-old. Platt represented both tha 9th Ward in New Orleans and tha South Side of Baton Rouge, LA. His debut album on Keep Movin' Records was 2000's Better Off Dead, which was respected throughout tha whole state of Louisiana. Keepin' his name alive, Platt opened up for big names such as OutKast, Scarface, E-40 & The Click, Lil' Flip, Trillville, B.G., Three 6 Mafia, Devin The Dude, Juvenile, and more. Later on in his career, he teamed up wit Baton Rouge record label, Divided Souls Entertainment, collaborating wit labelmates Rudye, Thicker Den Water, and Ian EFX, as well as Max Minelli, too. Platt died tha same day as Cookie, tha dog responsible for my signature tag, mainly heard in my video intros; they will definitely be missed!

Platt's funeral will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 @ 2 PM, @:
Winnfield Funeral Home

Review #1,082: Max Minelli "Heart Of A King"

Reviewed on 10.30.2011 (Review #1,082)

My final review of tha day, which I believe iz tha final one of tha month, iz Max Minelli Heart Of A King, which I ordered from Amazon! Also, Max’s now on Kevin Gates’s Dead Game Records/Bottomline Music Group! Start Time: 6:52 PM | End Time: 7:38 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I already love it. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating! Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Last Time I Checked”
Looks a lil’ familiar (not in my iTunes, though), so we’ll see what’ll happen wit this one. >>> Maybe I don’t have it previously labeled, yet? Either way, whether this iz a re-review or not, sounds like you’re ready to re-emerge on an album in a great way! Nice job wit how you’re comin’ through in a king way for tha 1st verse; you know what it iz! Even got some jammin’ shit goin’ on wit tha beat, too; great combination… LOL @ tha “pissed-off pilot” on tha 2nd verse; you’re “mad fly,” lol! Ooh, tha gurl’s and their “vanilla milkshake” action; nothin’ but some consistent rhymes you bringin’ to tha table, here, Max!! My Rating: 4.4

02. “Heart Of A King”
Title song, here; let’s see how much your “king heart”’ll come out on here! >>> Nice beginning; a straight-up “Polo” perspective! You’ve been in tha game for a while, now, so you gotta be a great representative in your 30s, tha magical age range! Good job wit tha 1st verse, as well as tha “heart” you have ta be tha “king” on tha hook. Focused-Max on tha 2nd verse, here, inhalin’ and focusin’ to tha max, lol; keep it goin’, Max! Tha 3rd verse iz pretty-good, too; prolly could’ve had a “king” feature on this song, somewhere, but it’s still pretty-good. LOL, Guss beat tag toward tha end. My Rating: 4.1

03. “Touchin’ The Roof” Feat. Kevin Gates
Just heard this for tha 1st time, earlier today, and I said: Still waitin’ to review that Heart Of A King; tha hard copy I ordered iz just sittin’ on my desk, but I’m reviewin’ CDs in tha order I got ‘em… *Listens* Tha hook ain’t too bad, here, and tha beat ain’t too bad, either (for Mod Productions); guess this gon be on a good, decent level? On tha 2nd verse, now, and it’s still on a decent level for me; guess I’ll have ta wait fa Gates ta come on? Good ta hear from Gates; good combo, overall! My Current Rating: 4.1

04. “The Life I Live” Feat. Malachi X
An “X” in his name, officially? Thought I might’ve heard but lemme see… >>> Sounds new and fresh; likin’ tha beginning wit Malachi on it, finally! Definitely some nice production goin’ on, here… You’re soundin’ pretty nice on tha 1st verse; nice job, Max. Yes, hearin’ tha hook again; actually likin’ tha Malachi vibe, here! Almost sounds a touch like Kevin Gates on tha 3rd ¼ of tha hook; nice anticipation! Good job wit tha 2nd verse, too, Max; tha 3rd verse’s soundin’ better, wit tha kick-ass punchlines, in a real-life perspective! My Rating: 4.5

05. “Be Respected” Feat. Malachi X
What do we got here? >>> An unsourced Malachi X on tha feature; why unsourced? Gonna put him in tha feature! LOL, funny that I care now; here comes Guss, outta nowhere, wit tha beat tag! Sounds like we’re keepin’ shit consistent, here! Likin’ all tha quality “shit” lines you’re spittin’ on tha 1st verse, Max; nothin’ but pure consistency at its finest! Tha hook sounds pretty good; I’m glad people respect you, Max, especially respectin’ me wit thankin’ me for tha reviewz, too! Tha 2nd verse iz hella consistent, too; you keepin’ tha rhymes goin’ and goin’ and goin’ and goin’ and goin’ and goin’…………! My Rating: 4.3

06. “Can I Help You” Feat. Level
Heard this a while back, at least a year ago. Good job from Mod on tha beat, Level on tha feature, and tha combination of what’s goin’ on, here! My Current Rating: 4.4

07. “Make It” Feat. Malachi X
Let’s hear this collaboration, again! >>> A lil’ soft on tha start? I’m still tuned in, so maybe, there’s a chance, here… Hearin’ you rap on tha 1st verse and I’m actually likin’ tha real-life shit you spittin’, here. Usually, I don’t go for these kinda songs, most of tha time, but it seems like y’all know how to make a good mood, right now. Tha hook ain’t too bad; actually, it reminds me of tryin’ to get to Louisiana, and vice versa! Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, either; overall, pretty-good song… My Rating: 4.0

½time: Really nice CD, Max; you’re more like tha Ace, lol! You have a 4.3 for tha CD rating, currently; glad you’re holdin’ it down for Dead Game/Bottomline!!!

08. “Action” Feat. Malachi X & Coppertop
What could this be like? More frequent collabs wit Malachi… >>> Ooh, a club vibe; likin’ this beginning goin’ on, here! You can get away wit these “pussy-poppin’” lyrics, Max; at least you’ve been in tha game for a while… and, have a status of bein’ exposed! Good shit from Malachi on tha hook; lol, talk about entertainin’! How will this Coppertop dude do on tha 2nd verse? Sounds like a younger C-Loc (like a brother or somethin’); decent lyrics and vibe, currently. For Coppertop, he fits good on tha song; nothin’ wack at all. LOL, you contributin’ wit your “P-U-$$-Y” shit, lol! My Rating: 4.3

09. “Rollin’ Hard” Feat. Reno
“I’m Amped Up” sequel? What do we got here? >>> This iz a pretty-good start; I like tha “Action” song a lil’ better for a start, currently. Ooh, you got some fast rhymes goin’ on in tha 1st verse; rapid-fire Max, here! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ like you can give tha people anything, and handle it in a great way; that’s what it iz, Max! Reno’s comin’ through wit his street shit on tha 3rd verse; nice job wit how he handles himself, as well as tha people. My Rating: 4.2

10. “Epic”
Lookin’ forward to hearin’… >>> Sounds like I’m expectin’ a movie or somethin’, lol. Hearin’ tha hook and I can feel a street anthem, here, “epic” style, lol. “Free my nigga Junior;” he got locked up (not that I can remember or anything)? What happened…? Wonder if he’s still locked up, October 30 style. Tha 2nd verse sounds good, although this song, and how it’s soundin’, iz startin’ ta become decent for me, now. Really, “$300 cologne;” that’s aight, but because my dad and cousin, I feel like a lot of “cologne,” especially to smell you from a mile away, iz a way of detectin’ insecurity. My Rating: 4.1

11. “I Luv It”
Like tha Troy Da Triggaman feature? LOL, wonderin’ what it’ll sound like without him (wit this title)? >>> Not too much goin’ on, here, although there’s some sounds in tha beat that are comin’ up fast, like a car, that are givin’ me a lil’ bit of attention… Beat’s startin’ ta sound pretty hot, and your rhymes are soundin’ good, too; it’s all about that atmosphere, environment, and perspective in tha South! LOL, simple hook; tha Troy Da Triggaman collab was much betta, but this iz still a plus for me. Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too, Max; not much ta really say, since you keepin’ tha consistency up… A 3rd verse, here, which iz just as good. My Rating: 4.0

12. “City Is Mine” Feat. Que
Wonder what this like? >>> A lil’ on a different style wit tha production, which I have semi-fear for, but we’ll see what happens. A lil’ head-bobbin’ wit how it sounds, but this reminds me of that 2nd or 3rd single that mainstream people used to drop that I’d be like, “It’s prolly gonna do somewhat-good, but I wouldn’t play it ‘cause it wasn’t that exciting for me.” LOL, capturin’ tha “city,” here! Nice job wit tha hook, includin’ tha 2nd verse, too. Oh yea, forgot to comment on Que: not-bad wit tha singin’… My Rating: 3.8

13. “Only A Question”
Looks like an interestin’ title… >>> Sounds a lil’ anticipatin’ for tha beat start, vs. an East Coast feel; how will I like it? Okay, now that it kicked in, it sounds pretty nice; keep tha excitement comin’. Catchy rhymes goin’ on in tha 1st verse; nice job, Max! Ooh, a semi-singin’ hook goin’ on from you, here? A lil’ on tha interestin’ tip… Wonder why people be “hatin’” things; I bet you don’t hear tha word “hate,” either, since it’s what they secretly do… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, either; thought I would’ve liked it betta wit how it sounded, but at least there’s room for anotha one… Tha 3rd verse sounds good; not bad wit tha whole song, overall… My Rating: 4.1

14. “Still Smile” Feat. Ronny My
Time ta end this… >>> Iz it gonna be tha pop-rap style for an ending song? At least it ain’t too depressin’…; glad you have some motivation in your title. Tha 1st verse has some pretty-good shit goin’ on; tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re keepin’ that survival up, too. Just an okay song for me, overall, but songs that come out like this (tha sound of it) ain’t that special for me. Final verse iz from Ronny My and I’m likin’ tha rhymes he spittin’, here; it’s all about “101”—tha age, lol! My Rating: 3.6

Overall: Nice job wit tha CD, Max! I really liked most of tha jointz on here; not that much that struck me like crazy, but most of them were fulla nice quality! You know what it iz; stay on your grind!

Review #1,081: Lil' Bibby "Chasing My Dreams"

Reviewed on 10.30.2011 (Review #1,081)

‘Bout ta review a CD from B-Boys Entertainment artist, Lil’ Bibby: Chasing My Dreams; what’ll happen? Start Time: 4:03 PM | End Time: 4:29 PM

01. “A Flipper” Feat. Yung Blaze
>>> Don’t know what ta say about this song, since I don’t have experience wit this shit… Some of tha rappin’ sounds a lil’ off-beat, to me, or outta nowhere; not much to say, overall. Yung Blaze, tha white dude? Sorry, complete turn-off rhymes; can’t even believe ‘em. My Rating: 2.1

02. “Messy”
>>> Anotha “female” song? How’d you have connections like this—automatically-asumed connections? More shit that ain’t at all for me, and iz completely random. Huh? How’d it go from “female”s to “niggas messy”? My Rating: 1.9

03. “Beef Shit” (Lil’ Kraylon Feat. Lil’ Freaky & Lil’ Bibby)
Huh? Why iz everyone “Lil’”? >>> Not really any sense, here; why does tha 1st verse have all this automatically-assumed anger, but there’s no anger in tha voice? Doesn’t make any sense to me, especially to have “a pistol;” like, why not rap about not havin’ one? Tha 2nd verse iz a lil’ betta wit tha voice (as far as applyin’ anger), but this way too random for me. When will I hear actual rap music, again, from an unknown artist? You’re on tha 3rd verse and I know you say you “neva been a bitch,” but why does every rapper that brings dat line up say dat, exactly? I can’t wait ‘til I hear a rapper admit that he was “a bitch;” when??? Not sure if I can take these rhymes serious, especially when you said, “I’ll kill your mama;” that’s a complete deal-breaker. My Rating: 2.4

04. “I Got A Chopper”
No… >>> Guess what? I haven’t seen a gun since January 23, 2008; izn’t that homosexual to you or what? You even got “a bad bitch;” how’d that automatically happen? I can’t wait to hear a rapper say they don’t have “a bitch”… matta fact, that’s me! Also, I don’t think I eva saw a ‘hoe’ before in my life; I think I only have seen girls… Damn, Rick Ross on this? His fake ass shouldn’t be on here! Also, Lil’ Wayne? End, please! What tha hell’s that mixin’ at tha end? My Rating: 1.3

½time: Sorry, this iz beyond great for me; 1.9 for tha CD rating.

05. “I Been Hustling”
>>> Slowly off to a more-steady st—oh, you had to bring up an “AK” in tha song. Really, there should be no “gun” shit in underground songs unless it’s a bigger name that actually gets out there! I guess I should just masturbate about guns ‘cause they’ll always be in my fantasies, since I’ll thankfully neva see ‘em. Lots of “hustling” goin’ on, here? “Money comin’ in from three ways;” what does that feel like? I hope to see some of it soon; surprised we haven’t did any services, yet? I should send you my flyer. No matter what goes on in this review, if you ‘bout your money, and want me to do things for you, shit yea, I’ll do ‘em; my prices are hella cheap! My Rating: 2.5

06. “Would You Mind” Feat. Lil’ Poo
“Poo”? Anotha “Lil’”, too? >>> Damn, not a fake-soundin’ R&B song? Please, if this iz underground, just keep it rap only! Then again, this iz acceptable, not like Auto-Tune… Aren’t you too young to be sippin’ “on somethin’ go…”—oh, lemonade? Maybe, it’s on a sober tip? As well as tha under-21ness, these rhymes go wit that, too, which I feel that I’m too old to be likin’ shit like this. My Rating: 1.4

07. “Put It On Yo Mind” Feat. Lil’ Pee
What’s this? >>> Could’ve been handled better; sounds boring and typical… Damn, what’s wit this wannabe-gangsta shit? When I say dat, it’s like, automatically? In order to get gangsta, shouldn’t it take a long-ass time, or a whole lotta proof? My Rating: 1.7

08. “Yellow Everything”
>>> “Black And Yellow”? No, “Lemonade”… If it’s not about guns, it’s about “fuckin’,” wtf? Anyway, so short that I couldn’t even provide much feedback. My Rating: 1.2

09. “There He Go” Feat. Kraylon
>>> What? A “Pyrex Radio” tag start; why? What tha hell? All of a sudden, it sounds loud? Not really much ta say about this; why would you want someone to “die”? Aren’t tha ones that get in that “wantin’-to-kill-someone” and “beefin’-wit-this-one” positions are tha ones that die (e.g., VL Mike, Nu$$ie, Sporty-T, etc.); why would you wanna be in that position? That should be somethin’ that stays in tha closet, like homosexual people. My Rating: 2.0

Overall: Sorry about this. It’s not that I’m sayin’ that I dislike you; I just think that tha typical and questionable rhymes (constant guns/killing, constant girls/sex) are hella boring, and are somewhat of a turnoff. Also, wasn’t I shouted out somewhere in this CD, or iz that in tha future?

Rankings:

09. “Yellow Everything” 1.2
08. “I Got A Chopper” 1.3
07. “Would You Mind” Feat. Lil’ Poo 1.4
06. “Put It On Yo Mind” Feat. Lil’ Pee 1.7
05. “Messy” 1.9
04. “There He Go” Feat. Kraylon 2.0
03. “A Flipper” Feat. Yung Blaze 2.1
02. “Beef Shit” (Lil’ Kraylon Feat. Lil’ Freaky & Lil’ Bibby) 2.4
01. “I Been Hustling” 2.5

Review #1,080: DJ 5150 "Street Connected"

Reviewed on 10.30.2011 (Review #1,080)

Anotha 5150 review comin’ up right now: DJ 5150 Street Connected. I wonder what’s tha difference between N.O. To The B.R. and this? I know tha Dre dude ain’t a part of it, but I wonder what could be a difference; are you rappin’ on this? Start Time: 2:09 PM | End Time: 2:52 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. Calliope Var Feat. Ray Vicks, Bambino Gold & Cutta “Street Connected”
Anotha compilation, lol? Yea, what’s tha difference between this CD and tha N.O. To The B.R.s? >>> Sounds good, although that previous Calliope song was better for me, on tha N.O. To The B.R. 7 CD. Likin’ tha content and tha quadruple connection, though! My Rating: 4.2

02. Ray Vicks Feat. Calliope Var, Bambino Gold & Owey “Ballin’ In The Trap”
Looks like tha same lineup? >>> No, not a “money” song; betta not piss me off… Sounds like a good song but I can’t deal wit these lyrics. Matta fact, someone just inboxed me, sayin’ I charge too much for a documentary. I charge $250 for every five minutes of video; that ain’t a lot, WTF? Sick of cheap-ass people!! Why does “tha hoes all on a nigga” have to mix wit a song wit “money”? Doesn’t make sense. My Rating: 3.5

03. Ray Vicks Feat. Lil’ Boosie, Block 125 & Bambino Gold “Ballin’”
BW beat? What’s up wit tha same lineups, once again? >>> Complete novelty feelin’, here; can’t wait ‘til I start seein’ dollaz fa some of this shit! Anyway, good song but it’s not like I’d come close to listenin’ to it…; tha novelty feelin’ would make me feel embarrassed in public. My Rating: 3.7

04. Bambino Gold Feat. Ray Vicks & Block 125 “Class Room”
Mike Will beat. >>> Sounds decent; I like tha content betta than tha beat, surprisingly. Really catchy wit tha content; it could go on and on and on… My Rating: 4.2

05. Maceo Feat. Ray Vicks & Calliope Var “Front Door Swangin’”
Non-Louisiana music? >>> Sounds good, but expect betta from tha production… Nothin’s like tha “Hoe Sit Down”/”Nextel Chirp”/Maceo’s 2005 dayz… Feelin’ tha 2nd verse; a betta voice ta hold this down… Tha 3rd verse fits wit Maceo, here; gotta give it up to tha 2nd verse, though. My Rating: 3.6

06. Maceo Feat. Ray Vicks “Make It Back”
Again wit tha non-Louisiananess? >>> Sounds a lil’ betta wit tha production… An okay song, overall; not really much ta say… My Rating: 3.7

07. Bambino Gold Feat. Calliope Var “Made Nigga Shit”
>>> Anotha decent/good song that I don’t have much to say about; most of these jointz go together wit each other… My Rating: 3.6

08. Calliope Var Feat. Eldorado Red “I’ma Gangsta”
I guess this iz a Calliope Var/Ray Vicks/Bambino Gold-type CD? Should’ve been labeled like that? >>> I knew this sounded familiar; now labeled as a “Gangsta” in tha title, lol. My Current Rating: 4.2

09. Block 125 Feat. Ray Vicks “Certified”
Mike Will & Ear Drummers beat. >>> Again, sounds pretty good and fits wit what’s goin’ on wit this CD… My Rating: 3.8

10. Ray Vicks Feat. Sean Teezy & Block 125 “Flexin’”
Shawty Boy beat; what iz this? >>> “Baton Rouge” feel? No matter tha artist, I feel like I’ve been in a constant zone of 504, all along, lol. But, even though I thought I wasn’t gonna like this (‘cause of tha title), but it’s, once again, just as good as some of tha other shit on here. I think I’m lackin’ feedback ‘cause tha artists aren’t changin’; think they should start switchin’ up? My Rating: 3.5

½time: So far, decent; nothin’ bad, but nothin’ too exciting… Currently, tha CD rating’s at a 3.8.

11. Ville Boyz “What Yo Block Like”
Wit their first CD, they didn’t have tha “Da” in their name; that’s why I usually don’t put it. Anyway, no DJ 5150 on tha main artist, this time, lol? Just heard this, courtesy of you; thanx to you and J Buc! My Current Rating: 4.4

12. Ray Vicks Feat. Calliope Var & Cutta “Presidents”
Back to tha same artists… >>> Kinda a boring song; don’t really have interest in this money shit, as you know… Really, I don’t need ta say anymore about this. My Rating: 3.1

13. Cutta Feat. Ray Vicks “Hustle Game”
>>> Still on tha same tip without change; this iz a lil’ betta, though… “Allergic to that fake shit;” I agree! My Rating: 3.7

15. Maceo Feat. Ray Vicks “Ball”
D.Boy beat. >>> These subjects are still tha same, too. This ain’t tha typical shit I don’t like, but I feel like this CD’s fulla it, wit less-power beats. My Rating: 3.5

16. Darryl J Feat. Big Six, Big Stackssss & P. Money Bags “Grams Over”
What a lineup, includin’ this Big Lew dude on tha beat! >>> Ooh, nice beat start; I think I’m anticipatin’ this! LOL, finally, 16 songs in, somethin’s really catchin’ my attention, wit a new-lookin’ ID! LOL, tha length’s exactly six minutes long; don’t think I mind, either! Name “Big Stackssss”, wit four “S”s at tha end? Wonder how much he has, that makes his name “big”? Nice job, err-body, strictly holdin’ this down! My Rating: 4.3

17. Lil’ One The Champ “The Mexicans”
Why iz this here again? My Current Rating: 3.7

18. Chick Da Flyest Feat. Travis Porter “Marvelous”
Why am I reviewin’ a song wit Travis Porter in it?!? Thought I was just on Louisiana?! >>> Sorry, wrong decade for me; not into tha 2010s mainstream shit! My Rating: 2.1

19. Yung Teddy Feat. Yung V.A. “Facebook”
YP Auto beat; wtf’s this? >>> Wow, instantly skippin’ this! See my comment on tha previous song! My Rating: 1.0

20. Psyke Sconi “5150 That’s My DJ”
LOL? Forgot tha apostrophe in “that’s,” lol. >>> Sounds funny for tha title; decent song, overall. I don’t really know what ta say about this, but yea, “stay underground.” Lots of luv shown here; wonder when someone’ll make a song about me? By tha way, how can you include “Facebook” and “on tha block” in tha same song, betta yet, hook? Ugh, not a good mix! My Rating: 3.8

Overall: Nothin’ that special; just decent, although it got a lil’ wack toward tha near-end. For a CD about you, I think it should’ve changed up, a lil’, or had you featuring many artists; this was like a watered-down compilation, instead.

Tha next review iz D Phi Entertainemnt Presents Give Me Your Money!!!! Vol. 1; not a fan of a “money” title, but we’ll see what happens. Start Time: 12:31 PM | End Time: 1:01 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. Jay Mitch Feat. Shanti Arielle “We Up”
>>> Decent for a single; like tha production, although this sounds a lil’ mainstream for me. My Rating: 3.6

02. Metri Feat. Yung Strapt & Riddick Bowe “Watch Her Do It”
>>> Thought this was a “Watch She Get It” song, but this definitely ain’t my style wit this “dougie” shit. Although tha beat may sound pretty-good, this ain’t really for me. My Rating: 2.3

03. Yung Strapt Feat. Jay Mitch “Hotel Room”
Although I like tha title now, we’ll see how it goes wit D Phi… >>> A “New Orleans” mix, here, for tha 225? Not too bad, overall; scary-soundin’ hook wit tha voice, almost? Thought I was gonna hear some trash or somethin’… Why iz this almost four-and-a-half-minutes long? Could’ve been about a minute shorter… My Rating: 2.7

04. Yung City Feat. Metri & Mall Of LA “Fuck Goin’ Home”
>>> A Mod Productions beat? What was it like workin’ wit him? Some of this sounds typical, but it’s on a decent tip, so far… Damn, not tha long length, again… Sounds like tha mind of what a typical person rappin’ sees, although tha beat’s hot. My Rating: 3.3

05. Metri Feat. Bryan Evans “That Pu$$y”
>>> Beat’s on a mainstream tip; don’t think I’ll go crazy over this… Tha sex shit’s pretty good, but what’s up wit tha really sour-soundin’ hook? Prolly could’ve felt better for a song. My Rating: 2.6

06. Metri Feat. Yung Strapt “Be Home Tonight”
>>> WTF @ tha semi-gay voice in tha beginning? Warn me if it’s R&B I’m expectin’… Rhymes are too teenagerish for me. My Rating: 1.3

07. Jay Mitch “Flat Broke”
>>> Okay wit tha slowed-down hook. WTF? Why does this sound like Lil’ One The Champ? Such a turn-off, outta nowhere!! My Rating: 1.4

08. Shanti Arielle “I Wanna Be”
Okay, now, I expect R&B so I know I’m warned… >>> A lil’ smooth, tha way I like it; I think it sounds betta like this than if it was a fast song. Tha length of 3:56 ain’t too bad, but it’s almost like everyone tries to make songs as long as possible, when it’s not called for. Random rappin’ goin’ on toward tha end? My Rating: 3.4

09. Jay Mitch “Smoke When I Wanna”
>>> Sounds like an interestin’ beat goin’ on, here… I really like tha “purp” shit, but why did I hear, “got my nigga … on tha …,” for tha 2nd time (referrin’ to tha producer)? Damn, I just heard it again; how fuckin’ wack (hearin’ that so many times)!! My Rating: 3.1

½time: Ehh, 2.6 for tha CD rating, currently; nothin’ I should be takin’ tha time out for.

10. Jaz M “She Will”
Wonder why DatPiff removed… >>> Decent, for a female. My Rating: 3.2

11. DeeJay Feat. Yung City “My Section”
>>> Flow’s a lil’ boring but tha voice ain’t too bad… However, I do like tha hook wit tha creepin’-up beat and tha “it get real in my section” shit. My Rating: 3.7

12. Jay Mitch “Blame Benjamins”
Not my kinda title. >>> If only it wasn’t about somethin’ typical like money, then, I would’ve prolly liked it, smh; Too long of a song, too…! My Rating: 2.5

13. Metri Feat. Tiny & Yung City “I Just Wanna Live”
>>> Sounds like a mainstream song that wouldn’t really be my style. Ugh, scary-soundin’ voice on tha hook…; damn, I can’t get a rise outta this CD? Tha only thing that came close was “My Section”, and that wasn’t even a 4.0! Really, I have no comment fa this mainstream-soundin’ song that should be decent, but iz spoiled by a weird-soundin’ hook. My Rating: 2.2

14. Bryan Evans Feat. Clutch “Foolin’ Around”
>>> Okay start wit tha female voice… Rappin’ doesn’t do anything for me, here; a lil’ betta than some of tha shit on here, though. My Rating: 2.8

15. DeeJay “Unforgettable”
Removed from DatPiff, too? >>> Not bad; tha female was better from tha other removed song. My Rating: 2.7

16. Ladi Debo Feat. Jay Mitch “Breakin’ Up”
>>> Not bad for this start…; at least this female rappin’ sounds betta than some of tha males on here. Nothin’ much goin’ on wit tha dude rappin’; not really likin’ that he sounds like Lil’ One The Champ too much. My Rating: 2.6

17. Yung City Feat. Corey Odom “Gangsta/Gutta”
A double-lookin’ title? >>> This sounds a lil’ betta, but how will tha verses do? Fuck, not a Boosie-soundin’ dude; what tha hell’s next? Maybe, it sounds like a blend between Boosie & Level; double novelty mix for me… By tha way, 4:42; why so long? I’ll give it a lil’ credit, regardless, ‘cause it has some good parts. My Rating: 3.4

18. Metri Feat. Bryan Evans & Riddick Bowe “Sit Down”
>>> Decent, but why does everything seem so easy and wit an attitude (e.g., “fuck you fuck boys”)? Like, when are dudes gonna rap about other dudes showin’ each other love? Not in a gay way, but you know if so many males are always together in cliques, there’s gotta be some room to rap about it. Then again, not in an easy way, either (e.g., “I got 50 dudes wit me”). My Rating: 3.2

Overall: Not good enough for me. Why do I keep thinkin’ Eddie Starks iz with D Phi Entertainment? That’s what keeps teasin’ me when I review these CDs, but I’m always wrong, smh.

Review #1,078: DJ 5150 & Dre "N.O. To The B.R. 7"

Reviewed on 10.30.2011 (Review #1,078)

Review #3 for today iz DJ 5150 & Dre N.O. To The B.R. 7; I finally put tha periods in tha title, since I was unsure tha previous times. Also, this iz 1:47:19? Guess this wasn’t released on CD? I don’t think cheatin’ tha length iz a good idea… especially, when I have a feelin’ there’ll prolly be novelty, or repetitive artists on here (not sayin’ I looked at tha tracklisting, yet, but that’s what I usually expect, sometimes, wit these compilations). Start Time: 10:48 AM | End Time: 11:45 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. Calliope Var Feat. B.G. “Uptown”
>>> Sounds like this should get exposure, like tha “Nolia Clap” dayz. Even though when I was 15, 16, I used to think, “that music was okay, and would always be big.” Now, I’m 23, and it’s like, “that music’s tight, but it never really gets out in tha MTVs and all dat, anymore.” Definitely a jam, here, between tha beat, tha catchy hook, Var doin’ tha damn thang, and Gizzle doin’ a nice job, too! My Rating: 4.6

02. Lil’ Phat “SouthSide”
>>> Nice lil’ beat and semi-okay hook; an okay song, overall, for tha “SouthSide.” My Rating: 3.7

03. Ka$hflow “Headlines”
>>> Sounds a lil’ like Dee-1… Not much of a great start wit tha “money” but it’s decent, overall; sounds like it could go mainstream, in a way… My Rating: 3.5

04. Ray Vicks Feat. 38 Slim “Big Timer”
>>> Sounds like an early 2000s Louisiana vibe, here! Sounds like it could be “big” wit tha sound, here! Ooh, a “shi-shi-shi-shit yea” start to tha 1st verse; nice combo of tha “shi”s!! Speakin’ of a “no-namer,” here’s tha statuses of how people should be divided in: no CD out; a CD out; on TV; that’s how I look at who’s big and who’s in tha same circle. Overall, this iz a decent/good song for me. My Rating: 4.2

05. Level Feat. Young Ready “We Get Dumb”
>>> EQ. A lil’ combined mix between novelty and virgin wit sending things, here. Oh, I heard this already; #13 on Street Credit 3. Now that I’m 23, it’s more of their loss instead of actin’ like a virgin wit sendin’ things; I know people’ll be hittin’ me up instead of my dumb-ass, previous initiatives, since I’m somewhat-retired from random communication! My Current Rating: 4.7

06. Stevie Drumma Feat. Juvenile “Wholelotta”
>>> Sounds good/new; I’m likin’ how Stevie Drumma sounds on here, includin’ his drummin’ beat in tha background, at times! Juvie sounds good for tha feature, here; you know what it iz wit tha collaboration! Even a great, actual outro sound wit it sayin’ Stevie Drumma’s on tha beat! My Rating: 4.0

07. Lil’ Wayne Feat. Birdman “Belee Dat”
>>> Playaz Circle song from ’07 on tha sample? Lookin’ at who’s on tha song, it’s ironic dat tha watered-down, David Guetta/Usher “Without You” just came on; those two go wit these two! DG = too pop, not too dance; LW/Birdman = too pop, not too Louisiana. Nothin’ actually bad, here; at least Wayne & Baby delivered a non-wack song, finally. My Rating: 3.3

08. Birdman Feat. Lil’ Wayne “Y U Mad”
Damn, again? Prolly could’ve subtracted one so tha length of this CD turns into tha length of a CD! >>> Kinda pointless to have two, back to back, but wow, hot beat for a start! Iz that Nicki Minaj on tha hook? Why no source of feature? Not too bad wit Wayne, either; actually, gonna give this a plus! My Rating: 3.9

10. Level Feat. Spitta & Nu$$ie “Pussy-Ass Nigga”
>>> EQ. This looks familiar; lemme see what # it was… #2. Either way, if you wanted to make a CD, you could’ve prolly subtracted tha previous Level song ‘cause this one’s betta for me. Also, Nu$$ie in tha ID? It’s only a sample… Then again, I always put Beezy Bird in tha feature when he goes, “bow, bow,” in tha background of beats. My Current Rating: 4.7

11. A-One (Wissel) Feat. A.R. “What We Doin’”
A lil’ on tha novelty side… I can’t wait to hear artists on this CD that actually pay me for things and are not virgins wit sending CDs, even though depending on wantin’ hard copies iz somewhat in my past! >>> A lil’ long; prolly could’ve shortened… This sounds a lil’ familiar, but iz nothin’ special, overall. My Rating: 3.2

12. Ka$hflow Feat. Curren$y “Paper Mission”
Prolly could’ve limited it to one appearance from an artist in order to save space? Double $, here… >>> Sounds like a good, slow song; good job, Curren$y, on tha 1st verse wit your rhymes! Ka$hflow’s only decent, for me, but it ain’t bad, overall. My Rating: 3.6

13. Curren$y Feat. Lil’ Wayne “Smoke Sumthin’”
Again? >>> Good old school feel… Thought I might’ve seen/heard this somewhere else, but I dunno about hearin’ Wayne’s voice, here… My Rating: 3.4

14. K.G. Feat. Ray Vicks & Trap Louisiana “Drugs Sold”
LOL @ tha straight-up English title, and not an evasion! >>> A DJ Burn One tag? I thought I’m listenin’ to DJ 5150 & Dre? Not bad of a song, overall; barely know Trap Louisiana and don’t think I know who K.G. iz… My Rating: 3.8

½time: A couple extra songs from tha same artists, but overall, this iz pretty good; a 3.9 for tha CD rating.

15. Lee Banks Feat. Marcel P. Black “Dreams Shatter’d”
>>> Don’t know what ta make outta tha long intro… So far, it’s a good vibe, and tha 1st verse from Lee Banks has a different, calm twist to it. P. sounds good wit his preachin’, too; nice lil’ calm-soundin’ song, overall. My Rating: 3.8

16. Jerkaman “Straight From The Nolia”
Let’s hear this 504 switchup! >>> Beat iz only okay; nothin’ much happenin’ wit it, but it does sound good wit this “Jerk”, lol. Glad it’s someone different on this CD, finally; good to hear from this dude… My Rating: 4.1

17. Magnolia Boyz “U Don’t Know Me”
Anotha 504 for my ears… >>> Different style, here; likin’ tha fastness, at times, wit tha title, and tha organ beat! Rhymes sound like they’re on a street level, from some official, Nolia boyz; nice job wit all this, too, even though it’s a lil’ long. Also, gotta comment tha content: “you ain’t bought no smoke from me;” you know I like this shit! My Rating: 4.3

18. Lil’ Boosie Feat. Ray Vicks “Money Got Me Fucked Up”
Novelty. >>> Good, but I don’t have time for this; aight for Ray Vicks, but I’d rather see it in my hand! My services are hella cheap; holla at me, sometime! My Rating: 3.6

19. DJ 5150 Feat. Ville Boyz “What Yo Block Like”
Now, tha producer’s in tha ID (J Buc)? Your own song? >>> Sounds tight, of course, but how does everyone assume to have a “block” that has somethin’ goin’ on? “My block” has nothin’ that goes on, about 98% of tha time. My Rating: 4.4

20. J Buc Feat. Lil’ Cali “Stuck Up”
Double? Finally, a new song after almost two years? >>> Hot shit, especially tha hook; tha beat might’ve been better in tha previous song, but this iz on that A-grade level, still! Glad to hear Buc rappin’ again; kinda felt absent for a while… ROFL, an unsourced Lil’ Cali!!! Why do people leave him outta tha ID? This happened wit Carter Boy’s CD, I believe, once before? My Rating: 4.5

21. Young Ready Feat. B-Raw, Lil’ Phat & DJ B-Real “Just Like You”
I will add DJ B-Real to tha ID. When I was on tha phone wit him, he felt like people would leave him outta tha IDs when he would do tha hooks. Wit me puttin’ him in tha ID, he feels much betta! My Current Rating: 4.7

22. Shell Feat. Gar “Face Shots”
Looks anticipatin’; Shell, where’s my phone call and interview? >>> Usually, Shell has a borderline 225/borderline 504 feel; this sounds more like some jammin’ shit from tha 225, so thumbs up for tha vibe! Also, good job wit tha 1st verse, strictly aimin’ at people! Anotha jam from Shell; he neva stops and thankfully, doesn’t brag about bein’ on TV in tha past, unlike certain artists I’ve seen in tha past! Good shit from Gar; neva can tell what he sounds like but when he gets on tha tracks, they’re on-n-poppin’! He’s got “100” of everythang? No wonder why he keeps it “100,” too, lol! My Rating: 4.7

23. Max Minelli Feat. Kevin Gates “Touchin’ Da Roof”
Still waitin’ to review that Heart Of A King; tha hard copy I ordered iz just sittin’ on my desk, but I’m reviewin’ CDs in tha order I got ‘em… >>> Tha hook ain’t too bad, here, and tha beat ain’t too bad, either; guess this gon be on a good, decent level? On tha 2nd verse, now, and it’s still on a decent level for me; guess I’ll have ta wait fa Gates ta come on? Good ta hear from Gates; good combo, overall! My Rating: 4.1

24. Down Bad “Bouncin’ Thru”
LOL @ tha reversed ID; title’s “Bouncin’ Thru” and artist’s Down Bad. Didn’t play it on tha air, yet, but it’s good. Nice job wit tha energy, as always, and tha tight beat! My Rating: 4.2

25. Lil’ Boxx “Today”
Set tha bar for my radio edits! Why did it sound like tha quality decreased once tha hook came on? Nice job wit Buc on tha beat and crazy-ass Boxx on tha mic!! My Current Rating: 4.7

26. Jason Lyric Feat. Pimpin’ Magnolia “Million Dollar Click”
>>> A lil’ ripoff of Memphis Bleek/Young Chris “We Ballin’” from ’03 in tha 1st verse, but this ain’t too bad, overall… My Rating: 3.5

27. The Show Feat. Miketaylor, Bronco, H2Pro, DY & Iris P “EGMG Cypher”
Did I get tha names right? A lil’ long for a mixtape that didn’t have enough length… >>> A lil’ “Paid & Full” beat style, here, but why tha dumb-ass Drumma Boy thing in tha beginning as a tag? Good shit from everyone, here; this iz like an automatic high rating ‘cause of it bein’ a freestyle, wit many people, lol! My Rating: 4.7

28. Curren$y “N.O. Shit”
>>> Doesn’t sound like it belongs here, off top. Then again, 1:35 on tha length can squeeze in… Sounds like anotha good freestyle; a lil’ boring wit tha sounding, overall, but it fits as somethin’ good. My Rating: 3.5

29. Magic “Rollin’”
>>> Someone gave this to me as somethin’ to check out and I wondered why. Definitely not for me; what tha hell iz this shit? My Rating: 1.1

Overall: If you were to fit tha songs, I would’ve done without #3, 5, 7, 9 (didn’t hear, but double appearance), 11, 13, 29, and prolly cut endings off to fit you a CD. Either way, not too bad, overall; always enjoy tha mixes of 504 & 225, even though I keep gettin’ hit wit a bunch of novelty feelings.

Reviewed on 10.30.2011 (Review #1,077)

For my 2nd review today, it’s more of a better artist that I know. Matta fact, there are three here: K-Chill, Soulja Jay & DJ Dolby D Gorilla Instinct! Lookin’ forward to hearin’ this Gorillaville Records release, as always! Have to sadly say, R.I.P. to Cookie, tha dog that barks in all my intros to my videos; she was put to sleep yesterday morning! 01. Intro
Lookin’ forward to hearin’! >>> Sounds like I’m ready ta hear repeat music that I’ve heard before; at least it ain’t no wack shit, ya dig? Good mixin’ for tha “intro”; reminds me of tha Greatest Hits compilation that I first reviewed of you, last year! My Rating: N/A

02. “You Don’t Want None”
You already know what it iz wit this one! Str8 from tha collaboration CD Chill & Jay put out last year! My Current Rating: 4.4

03. “Don’t Know How To Act”
Have I heard? >>> Sounds a lil’ familiar but it’s not in my iTunes, so I guess I neva heard… Of course, feelin’ tha energy K-Chill’s bringin’ to tha hook, on a real tip! LOL @ draggin’ “him to tha swamp;” such a crazy-ass K-Chill, lol! Really likin’ tha 2nd verse a whole lot; “smoke dat weed!” Shit yea, you already know what it iz wit dis one!! My Rating: 4.5

04. “Everybody Pussy”
Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this! >>> I was in fear of hearin’ a Nu$$ie sample outta nowhere, but at least it’s y’all doin’ tha damn thang on tha hook, original style! Good shit, on a crazy note, on tha 1st verse; undeniable gorillaz, here!! LOL, tha typical, “in this bitch,” chant in tha beginning of tha 2nd verse; always works good, especially wit gorillaz like y’all! LOL @ all tha “___-ass” parts; definitely feelin’ it! Really likin’ all tha “pussy, pussy, pussy” shit toward tha end of tha 2nd verse!! My Rating: 4.6

05. “You Want Beef”
Let’s hear it! >>> Really likin’ tha start, here; I heard tha “you want beef” shit mixin’ while tha previous song was ending, and it sounds like somethin’ I’m really lookin’ forward to!! “We got beef ova here, come and eat, nigga;” whoa @ that line!! Definitely luv tha double-definition wit “beef” goin’ on, here!! Really feelin’ tha 1st verse; definitely on-n-poppin’ to tha max!! Y’all all about that non-stop energy, between tha beat and how y’all come through wit tha toughness! Likin’ tha 2nd verse, too; strictly gutta to tha fullest!! My Rating: 4.8

½time: Of course, this shit’s real crazy; a 4.6-rated CD, currently, just tha way I love it!!!!!!

06. “Feelin’ Herself”
Looks like an answer/look-a-like to Mz. Tequi, lol? >>> Sounds like an already-made song wit how this hook sounds? Then again, mysterious feature on tha 1st verse/hook? Was a lil’ mainstream/decent, at first, but it’s startin’ ta become a lil’ catchy… Again, this mysterious dude’s on tha 2nd verse? This iz slowly gettin’ boring for me; could’ve heard y’all guys, instead. My Rating: 4.0

07. “Go Gorilla”
Looks like an excitin’, energetic title? >>> Oh yes, this sounds good; lol, this dance/routine iz acceptable in my book! As long as y’all are on tha song, tha tightness should easily come out! Jammin’; pretty-good-soundin’ 1st verse, here… Now, tha 2nd verse iz tha voice I’m used ta hearin’—K-Chill! You know this shit goes off, to tha fullest! I can definitely agree wit K-Chill’s toughness ‘cause he’s at least 200-somethin’ pounds, or iz that 300? Either way, tha toughness’s right when you see him, ya dig? My Rating: 4.2

08. “You Ain’t Gotta Work”
LOL…; good twist to this CD! My Current Rating: 4.4

09. “OMG”
LOL, not WTF? No SMH, either? LOL @ all my letters… >>> Decent hook; sounds like someone else, instead, on a mainstream tip again… Tha 1st verse aight, but it serves its purpose in a club atmosphere, so it’s good, in a way. I guess this iz a K-Chill-less song? Really startin’ ta attack this once tha 2nd verse comes; really not into all tha “swag” shit and this ain’t really Louisiana fa me… My Rating: 3.8

10. “I’m Loaded”
LOL, most definitely! Kinda long, so I hope it serves a purpose… >>> Good start, but it’s a different voice again. However, if this iz over five minutes, there should definitely be some K-Chill on here! Really long intro and hook goin’ on, here… Here’s tha 1st verse and outta tha mysterious voices I heard throughout this CD, this iz tha best one. Tha rhymes get me in a good mood when it comes to this Louisiana shit; thumbs up… A “dread” dude on tha 2nd verse, here; not too bad, overall… LOL, an “Ope” (Opelousas) dude on tha 3rd verse, but it ain’t K-Chill. Either way, likin’ this verse, too; good, unknown artist song for this CD! “And we rep Gorillaville!” My Rating: 4.3

11. “Official”
For an endin’? Let’s hear… >>> A lil’ on tha mainstream tip for a start, here… So far, it’s off to a decent/good start; not much to exactly say, here. Once again, a lil’ unknown for me wit tha voice; I guess some of this CD’s Soulja Jay? Gotta get adjusted to tha voice, even though so much has been goin’ on wit me (includin’ reviewin’ so much music), so it gets hard to remember, at times. My Rating: 3.7

Overall: Of course, hot CD, although I expected to hear a lil’ more K-Chill. But, great job, guys; keep up tha consistency!

Review #1,076: Pap Da Stunna "A Yungin's Mission (The Mixtape)"

Reviewed on 10.30.2011 (Review #1,076)

Don’t really have time for reviewz, includin’ that there’s a virus on my laptop that’s makin’ my internet go really slow, so I’m gonna try and make these quick… Pap Da Stunna, outta Top Rank Entertainment, with A Yungin’s Mission (The Mixtape) iz what I’m reviewin’ now; betta be good, since it’s 32 degrees and six inches of snow! Start Time: 9:00 AM | End Time: 9:20 AM

01. “16 Bars (Intro)”
>>> “Love Of My Life” beat; a lil’ different, ’02 style, here… Flow sounds a lil’ random for me; I should hear tha voice a lil’ betta… My Rating: 2.9

02. “Die Behind Mine”
>>> I can hear you a lil’ betta, now. Don’t really like tha “gun” lyrics, although this iz about tha title; decent, overall. My Rating: 3.4

03. “Lights, Cameras, Action” Feat. Jazzsper Da Hitman
A Casper-lookin’ feature? >>> Not super gay/tolerable, even though this kinda 2010s content ain’t really for me… Tha feature sounds like he doesn’t have trouble gettin’ girls? A lil’ too typical; life’s not that easy! My Rating: 2.8

04. “Why Dey Hatin’”
>>> Another one that sounds like tha previous song… “Why” does this have to be 4:13? A lil’ too long? I don’t get “why” everyone thinks people hate them; “why” can’t people rap about people lovin’ you? Damn, rippin’ off Trillville/Lil’ Jon/Lil’ Scrappy “Neva Eva”? No need to bring back dat classic in this gay, 2010s era… Also, “why” would someone hate someone over havin’ “hoes;” think that’s a loss, instead? Too much complicated trouble. My Rating: 2.5

05. “Wat U Came Fuh” Feat. Nooda Dha BG & Jazzsper Da Hitman
>>> D. Jackson beat; guess it’s good for an original beat but I need a better sense of havin’ better time management—as well as better, frequent services—if I’m gonna get in a real great mood for this… Decent, overall; prolly neva’ll be outstanding rhymes, though. My Rating: 3.8

06. “Fresh As I’m Is (U Ain’t Stuntin’)”
>>> Damn, barely a title change? From hearin’ as a 17-year-old, it sounds gay to bring up as a 23-year-old. Yea, I get rid of people from my past… Overall, no comment ‘cause it’s typical, and I’m not gettin’ anything new outta this; really, four minutes long? My Rating: 2.1

07. “I Do It”
Why are tha lengths exactly on tha :00s? Last song was 4:00 and this iz 5:00? >>> No comment; more typical stuff that doesn’t go above tha great mark, and iz only okay to hear, not listen to; rhymes are a lil’ on a better, consistent tip than previous songs, though. My Rating: 3.0

½time: A 2.9-rated CD; nothin’ terrible, but more on what every rapper sounds like, today.

08. “Knockin’ Doors Down” Feat. Nooda Da BG & Jazzsper Da Hitman
>>> Damn, same title as tha original? Even tha long-ass beginning? Don’t make me tired… Not feelin’ tha gun lyrics, once again; all this “gun” shit really ain’t called for at all times! No murders go down on my block! Why iz there an easy assumption that someone could kill someone? It should be a 1-in-23847239347294872394234972349827942394+ chance! My Rating: 2.3

09. “’Bout Dat Dum Shyt” Feat. Jazzsper Da Hitman & Marcus Da Terrible
>>> A lil’ betta, but still, what’s wit this automatic-anger attitude? Not likin’ how tha 2nd verse sounds; sounds like a 17-year-old wit a shitload of guns or somethin’. Why iz it so easy to use/have a gun?!? Rap about tha impossible! My Rating: 2.4

10. “Break Yo Azz Down”
>>> Long intro and long song, again… I like it a lil’ betta, but anotha gun song?!? My Rating: 3.1

11. “Real Tawk”
>>> Damn, 47 seconds on tha intro? No need for tha Pac/Biggie beat, 2010s style. Nothin’ really special, overall; too much typical shit, again, wit tha ‘I-can-automatically-do-this’ attitude. My Rating: 2.2

12. “Thankin’ ‘Bout You” Feat. Jazzsper Da Hitman & Marcus Da Terrible
>>> Not bad for a different song… Damn, that odd-soundin’ dude’s back on tha 1st verse; iz that why he has “Terrible” in his name, lol? If it’s not guns, it’s “hoes,” smh, especially wit a Level quote? Every artist (Level, this one, that one) has tha same buzz; does anyone get it? Unless you have a CD out—physically—then, it’s a lil’ higher wit a buzz, but just a lil’. Startin’ to get bored wit this content as it goes on… My Rating: 1.9

13. “Tha Top”
>>> Boring to hear a Slum Village beat from ’04… Still, it’s better than ½ tha shit on here, so far… Well, it’s remainin’ to be pretty-good; not bad… My Rating: 3.2

14. “Thank You”
>>> Thought I might’ve heard tha beat in tha past, but why does it sound like a baby toy? I think this iz catchy for an outro song… My Rating: 3.4

Overall: Even though I didn’t rate tha songs that high, I think you’re aight; I think it’s more your features and ear for beats that didn’t do too good, here. It might take some growin’ to develop better songs (e.g., us do business and tryin’ not to rap about typical, guns and hoes-type shit); it’ll happen, maybe?

Rankings:

14. “Thankin’ ‘Bout You” Feat. Jazzsper Da Hitman & Marcus Da Terrible 1.9
13. “Fresh As I’m Is (U Ain’t Stuntin’)” 2.1

R.I.P. Video #18: Wne (Dhat Fam)

Broadcasting from Northeast PA, this iz FrankieThaLuckyDog, reporting a terrible tragedy in tha Baton Rouge, Louisiana community. From 1412 N. 23rd St., Justice Thompson, who also went by tha name "Wne"--spelled W-N-E (pronounced "one")--was shot in tha head during tha evening of Sunday, October 16, 2011, at approximately 2:24 AM, on Adams Avenue. Investigators say that just minutes after tha shooting, officers were called to tha scene to see a parked car with Thompson lying on tha pavement and an uninjured, 18-year-old female. Thompson was brought to a hospital nearby, battling a critical bullet wound to tha head during life support, when he was pronounced dead, shortly after. There iz currently no cause of tha shooting, at tha moment; Thompson also turned 17 years-old on October 16. Tha funeral from Thompson will be held on 9328 Scenic Hwy., at Hall Davis & Sons, Monday, October 24, at 10 AM.

Some additional information about what Thompson stood for: Thompson was a part of Dhat Fam, a Baton Rouge-based rap group consisting of many people, some also include Gus, Li' Dude, Kenny & Li' Trey. It was only last Thursday, October 13, that Dhat Fam sent me a request on YouTube. I thought that was a blessing, especially since I've been followin' them for a year, but never really talked about anything to any of them except Thompson, himself. He added me wit two different Facebook pages on November 17, 2010 & May 21, 2011, had a conversation wit me about tryin' to get a CD cover done--which I gave him my #, although he never called me--and he even started to follow me on Twitter on June 3. Dhat Fam got their 1st radio spin on my radio show on April 30, 2011.

Man, I feel blessed to know that he actually cared for me, in a way; he'll definitely be missed! Hopefully, I can connect wit Dhat Fam in a major way, now, wit doin' business; get at me! Ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog, signin' out...
