Review #836: Unstable Minds "Unstable Minds"

Reviewed on 2.24.2011 (Review #836)

I feel tired but am motivated to do this review, I believe self-titled. Here goes my review for Unstable Minds “Unstable Minds, outta Scranton, PA, near where I currently live. Shout out ta Alexia for lettin’ me borrow (which I burned to my computer, lol) this CD so I could review it! It was real great seein’ you, today!!!!! LOL, this iz tha 1st review I’m doin’ wit shades on; hate tha light at times! Oh yea, check them out on Alexia’s “Ya Herd?!” show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ss9yTAYycg Start Time: 8:46 PM | End Time: 9:34 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

Source (Where I Got Tha CD From): Alexia

01. “Hostile Takeover”
Alexia has had good words about y’all, so I prolly gon have ‘em, too! Then again, as it says above, it’s all in my opinion so whateva happens, happens, ya dig? >>> Oh yea, “Pat Me Down Records” in tha buildin’. Ooh, I like tha energy; I remember sayin’ somethin’ positive in “Ya Herd?!” when I left a comment, too! Tha beat’s real catchy and tha hook sounds hella tight! Tha energy and consistent rhymes really make thangz good, to tha fullest!! Tha 1st verse’s real nice; holdin’ it down fa tha 570, here! Ooh, tha 2nd verse has a better start!! Sounds a lil’ like Eminem in tha voice, here! Soundin’ pretty tight at 1:53 wit tha rhymes, too! Hot, short song right here! My Rating: 4.7

02. “Not Afraid”
Speakin’ of Eminem, does dis have ta do wit him? >>> Good thing it doesn’t; glad y’all got ya own production! Feelin’ tha beat start, especially tha 2nd ½ of tha intro!! Tha 1st verse sounds consistent wit what’s goin’ on; “my style’s more dope than a needle in your vain.” Nice “you can call me Martin Luther ‘cause I’m gonna be king” line, too; how much more consistent can y’all get? Here’s dat big dawg at 1:38; tight voice ta hold shit down as well as tha kick-ass lyrics/rhymes!!! Damn, still goin’ at 2:30! Tha final verse ain’t too bad; still luvin’ tha energetic deliveries!! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Makin’ Moves”
Let’s hear dis one! >>> Ooh, likin’ dat violin start in tha beat! Wow, tha rhymes, just, came outta nowhere!! No time ta waste, here!! Definitely a nice 1st verse; tha hook’s definitely soundin’ nice!! Luv it, ya dig? Anthematic at its best!!! Tha “makin’ moves, muthafucka” iz real tight when I hear!! Tha 2nd verse iz pretty fast, too; talk about greatness in only 2:22!! LOL @ tha start to tha 3rd verse wit tha “fat bitch runnin’;” keep these pictures comin’ in my head! Tha “cops” shit’s pretty nice, too… My Rating: 4.8

04. “Wack Sax”
LOL, I thought it said, “sex,” on tha title, lol! >>> What’s up wit tha fade-in beat intro? Then, it faded out? Interestin’, in a way. Ooh, “dutch … White Owl” start to tha 1st verse; that’s what’s up, my boy!! “I’m smokin’ on tha finest;” sounds tight, but more entertainin’ wit how tha 2nd dude raps it, lol! Feelin’ tha “white-boy” deliveries, here, lol! Fa only 1:47, this iz pretty nice! Lengths don’t matter; y’all do! Ooh, nice last 10 seconds!!! My Rating: 4.5

05. “Sanity”
Looks like a strong word fa tha undaground Rap scene. >>> Tha beat reminds me of some old, undaground Hip-Hop; tha Hip-Hop I used ta hear on my current college’s radio station back in ’03. Tha hook’s pretty interestin’ wit this singin’-styled hook; I’m likin’ it. There’s nothin’ y’all doin’, so far, that’s upsettin’ me/pissin’ me off! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit makin’ tha song good! Tha 2nd verse iz nice wit tha multiple members rappin’! I like tha “key” part in tha verse; gotta unlock to anotha destination, ya heard me? My Rating: 4.2

06. “Rock Shit”
Looks like it gon be an anthem, again! >>> Damn, it sounds like some ‘90s-type “shit” here on tha production, ya feel me? Pretty-good job producin’ this, too! Tha 1st verse iz aight; nothin’ but consistency comin’ from y’all! Tha hook’s good; makin’ it an anthem wit dat “y’all ain’t fuckin’ wit us!” Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ good/aight, too. My Rating: 4.3

07. “Who We Be”
Unstable Minds; no one else!! >>> Feelin’ tha intro to tha 1st verse, tha beat, and how y’all comin’ through wit tha tightness!! Tha hook’s nice; I like dat “who we be” part! “Bones” on tha 2nd verse, “gettin’ high,” and shit; thumbs up, ya dig? Tha “when it’s time ta get high” part at tha end of tha 2nd verse got me more anticipated ta hear more music of yours, ya dig? I remember that “PMD: Pat Me Down” voice from “Ya Herd?!”, lol! My Rating: 4.5

08. “Assume Defeat”
Nice title!! >>> Tha title applies to tha tightness I’m hearin’, right now! Nice energy comin’ outta tha 1st verse, doin’ a nice job! Tha hook’s soundin’ tight wit tha singin’, too! SMH @ whoeva hated on YouTube when they commented on tha “Ya Herd?!” video; I’m likin’ dis shit, and I ain’t even inta East Coast shit anymore! What consistency comin’ outta tha 2nd verse!! Luv tha consistent rhymes at all times!! Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad but it’s tha consistent rhymes that make it above average, easily! My Rating: 4.4

½time: Damn, for an East Coast-soundin’ CD, y’all are currently at a 4.5 CD rating!!!! You know how huge dat iz?!?

09. “Stay Clear”
Likin’ dis title; what’s this? >>> Ooh, “Dunkin Donuts” skit in tha beginning; interestin’-ass shit! Tha hook’s pretty nice; feelin’ how y’all delivered it! Ooh, tha 1st verse’s soundin’ real, real nice!!! I luv all tha consistent rhymes and how y’all bringin’ tha “cop”/street-“crime” theme ta dis song! Tha 2nd verse’s somethin’ serious, too! Damn @ a lil’ afta tha 2:00 mark; nothin’ but rhymes, rhymes, rhymes!!!!! I hope I meet y’all soon!! My Rating: 4.6

10. “Ain’t Comin’ Down”
I agree; co-sign this title!! >>> Tha beat intro iz givin’ me interest… Nice hook; y’all always be “smokin’,” huh? That’s what’s up; y’all know how ta power-up, lol! Tha 1st verse and those “chemicals” poppin’ off’s soundin’ real, real, real nice!!!!! Could this song have tha best rhymes on this CD?!? Ooh, tha 2nd verse sounds like an improvement! “I’m 24;” I’m a lil’ younger, but will prolly motivate y’all! Ooh, I heard somethin’ ‘bout a “blunt,” lol; dumb shit (“dumb shit” = heavily-good/crazy shit—Baton Rouge, LA slang)!! Tha 3rd verse starts off by sayin’ it all: “I ain’t comin’ down;” agreed, as I said before I heard tha song start! LOL, keepin’ shit goin’ wit “I got a whole lotta herb,” too? Damn, y’all really on ‘fire’ here, lol! We’ll see how this competes wit #3 since I tied tha ratings! Feelin’ dat ending!! Y’all “totin’,” too? Dangerous group, lol… My Rating: 4.8

11. “Shoot Flames”
Keepin’ it goin’! I dunno what else ta say wit tha previews… >>> Sounds like anotha good dose of energy comin’ outta dis! Tha beat’s pretty nice and tha “propane”-type rhymes are on ‘n’ poppin’!! Tha hook’s real nice wit tha “shootin’ flames” voice or whateva it iz; tha beat’s pretty serious on tha hook, too!! LOL, “speak to tha dutch” startin’ off tha 2nd verse; definitely feelin’ dat approach, ya dig?! Tha 2nd dude on tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ pretty nice fa dis; sounds like these “flames” won’t stop!! LOL @ tha sexual approach to tha start of tha 3rd verse; gettin’ dem “bitches” ta “drop dem draws,” lol! Nice job wit tha verse, too! This became anotha kick-ass song!! My Rating: 4.7

12. “Knock Underground”
I’m glad y’all have creative titles! They’re not typical—I guess tha white dude has a better sense of thinkin’, sometimes, lol?! >>> Feelin’ tha energy comin’ outta this hook, too! Here comes my boy on tha 1st verse; dem fast rhymes are what’s up—rhymes that are equal to lyrical, real-ass shit! LOL, at 1:08.5, it sounded like tha beat had a bit of a sped-up thing happen…; that was random but tha tight rhymes be continuin’!! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, tellin’ dem “wack-ass MCs” ta calm down! I feel dat; glad y’all aren’t close ta wack or typical fa me, who’s picky at times, lol! My Rating: 4.4

13. “Get Live”
Anotha short length of only 2:22; let’s hear dis and see how it compares to tha previous jointz that are short… >>> I’m really likin’ tha production in dis one, too; real tightness!! Tha 1st verse sounds hella tight!! Sometimes, it was hard ta tell where tha hook was, at first. But, I hear it, and it sounds like a Rock song, lol. In a way, it’s good ‘cause tha hella tight rhymes are all ova!!! Tha rhymes definitely pay off; y’all definitely are tha shit, to tha max!!! I like dat “resistance” part, followed by “ounce of tha chronic;” can’t get a betta East Coast mix than this!! My Rating: 4.5

14. “G-Shit”
Ooh, glad y’all have a title like “G-Shit”; lookin’ forward ta hearin’ dis!!! >>> Sounds Shady Records/Aftermath Records-type for tha hook. Really luvin’ it wit all these “smokin’” shit as well as tha “ridin’” shit; could y’all give me birth as far as doin’ business in person? Been waitin’ fa this moment fa a long-ass time!!! Shout out ta Alexia fa helpin’ me out, at times, too!! Tha 1st verse’s flowin’ pretty nice; likin’ what y’all got, here!! “Smell tha weed;” I wish I could—tha indication of good luck!! Tha 2nd verse sounds like it’s pretty nice, too! Good thing I wore these shades while reviewin’! They seem ta bring good luck, as 16 dayz ago, I wore them to a store for tha 1st time and found a $10-winning scratch-off, lol! As much as tha “smokin’” aroused my interest, I have ta also say dat I’m likin’ how y’all say what y’all feel about “G-shit,” in y’all opinion! Tha 3rd verse’s pretty tight, too! I like tha combo y’all bring to tha table when it comes ta alternatin’ tha members wit tha rappin’! Anotha 4.8-rated song fa me and I feel dat this iz my favorite off tha CD, right now!! LOL @ dat acapella ending; how much tighter iz dis gon get, lol? My Rating: 4.8

15. “Long Road”
Keepin’ it goin’, let’s see what y’all got fa dis one… >>> A lil’ Poppy fa tha start but I think I can fuck wit it. Tha lyrics are real and nice fa me. Usually, I’d dislike somethin’ like dis if it came from someone else, especially from tha East Coast. However, y’all been keepin’ tha mood real strong, so I can’t hate on dis!! Tha hook’s not bad, either; sounds a lil’ white-boyish, lol… I like how tha 2nd verse sounds…; somewhat gettin’ betta, here. Tha 3rd verse has tha deliveries I want ta hear; gotta hear tha voices, ya dig?! My Rating: 4.0

16. “Bonus Track”
LOL, where’s tha title? I guess I’ll just call it “Bonus Track”; will it be worth tha extra song? >>> So far, I’m likin’ tha beat start; expectin’ dis ta be pretty niiice!! Ooh, dat tightness iz back durin’ tha beginnin’ of tha rappin’!! Good job, ya dig? I’m feelin’ tha other voice dat came through on tha 1st verse; tight-ass rhymes goin’ on!!! Tha hook sounds like somethin’ iz ‘not’ “easy,” lol? Dis music y’all make sounds like it could be somethin’ very valuable, “easy” or hard, lol!! Tha 2nd verse’s pretty tight, too! LOL, what else could I say when there’s tons of tight-ass rhymes comin’ outta nowhere?!? My Rating: 4.4

Overall: Damn, not a wack song!! Y’all really did tha damn thang, here!! Maybe one day I could produce, rap, etc. wit/for y’all, ya dig? Despite me feelin’ a lil’ sick and tired, your CD helped me maintain it, even though I still feel like shit, lol. Props once again to Alexia fa hookin’ me up wit dis CD!! Keep up tha great work, my boyz!!!

And, as a bonus, Alexia gave me anotha CD from G Dot; wonder how this “The Rebirth” song gon sound… >>> Tha start’s pretty nice, here; feelin’ tha church-sampled-type of vibe dat sounds tight on a beat! Ooh, likin’ tha rappin’, here, too! I, personally, don’t like claimin’ tha “570” ‘cause there’s not much up here; I claim tha 631—Long Island, NY! Tha hook sounds nice; anotha anthem, here! Tha 2nd verse has a good, focused attitude when it comes ta deliverin’ dat hot shit! Do I hear a beat tag appear everytime tha hook ends? Heard it in tha intro, tha end of tha 1st hook, and tha end of tha 2nd hook, so far, lol… Tha 3rd verse sounds focused, too!! Even this song managed ta get a 4.0 rating from me; y’all know what it iz wit dem bonuses!! I like tha beat ending a whole lot, too! Finna listen to tha instrumental as I prepare to rank tha songs and post this review online! My Rating: 4.3

Only 2:23 on tha length? Maybe it’s just a one-verse song? >>> Sounds good wit tha consistent shit you spittin’; nice beat, too! Good job; you a beast fa a youngin’! LOL @ randomly mentionin’ “tha hoes think Mista a dawg;” must’ve been at tha top of your head, lol? My Rating: 4.4

02.
>>> This a new joint fa me; feelin’ tha way tha beat claps as well as tha hot synths! This must be called “Do It Like A G” or somethin’ like dat, huh? ROFL @ tha “Polo horses” luvin’; who would’ve guessed wit people? It’s, just, real cool ta know err-body luvs “Polo,” but I lol @ tha ones obsessed. This iz a pretty-good song; thumbs up fa makin’ it a catchy club banga! My Rating: 4.5

03.
>>> LOL, this was #5 on tha promo disc I got—still untitled, lol! What I said was: You really have tha beats on point here!!! I heard EQ’s beat tag; nice beat, here, for Baton Rouge and you got tha hood shit on lock, right chea, on tha 1st verse!! :tu You really holdin’ it down fa yourself on tha 1st verse and all your rappin’, ya dig?!? Just like me, I, just, hol’ it down 24/7 and I do tha damn thang! Tha hook iz definitely nice and “aggressive,” ya dig? You got shit on lock all day!! Were you referrin’ ta “Kandace” of Big Faces Entertainment when you said, “I would’ve fucked her…”? Either way, shout out ta Kandace of BFE! On tha 3rd verse, most definitely, you “can’t be stopped!!!” :tu Glad you’re always referred ta “bein’ aggressive!” Gotta luv tha “aggressiveness” in tha Rap game, ya dig?!? My Current Rating: 4.8

04.
>>> LOL, gotta luv tha anthematic start, here, in tha beat; real, real great production goin’ on here!!! Tha beat intro iz a lil’ longer, too; luvin’ this!!! “Long Island Iced Tea;” shout out ta me ‘cause I’m from “Long Island,” NY, ya dig? You’re “drunk” and “loaded” on tha hook, right chea, so it’s definitely an anthem!! This sounds like somethin’ dat Savage would make (like wit his great club anthems); real glad you make hot-ass shit like dis, too!! I guess I also really like dis ‘cause I can’t relate to it, currently, but it’s all about tha hot production, too!! You said, “Hits lookin’ at me…,” @ 2:16; iz dat Young Hits on this beat? I gotta ask him (even though he didn’t even know what your “Yeah” song was—still don’t have an official title fa dat)… You really doin’ tha damn thang “on dem tabs” to tha fullest!! You too fuckin’ great wit dis shit, especially @ tha end of tha 2nd verse!!! :tu My Current Rating: 4.9

05.
>>> Ooh, more singin’ in tha beginning! Iz this you or someone like Dat Boy A? I’m not 100% sure but tha production definitely on point here!! Oh, you shouted out “Guss”; did he produce this? You got street shit on tha 1st verse, right chea, and it sounds good! I like tha “get up off me” shit in tha hook; you know you too tough fa anyone ta handle, especially 20-year-olds!! Reviewin’ this reminds me of when I reviewed Young Ready’s “Junkie Medicine (Cocaine Edition)” when I didn’t have tha tracklisting at first, which it had tha real hot production like dis and then, I got tha tracklisting from Ready via a jail letter! Glad I’m comparin’ you ta somethin’ real, real hot in tha past!!! Tha 2nd verse sounds great…; trill shit to tha fullest!! Glad you always motivated!!! My Current Rating: 4.6

06.
>>> Originally reviewed as 1:30 but it increased to 2:11! LOL @ tha start to tha verse: “Hol’ up, let me laugh,” lol… “Kick yo ass in HD;” like dis shit right chea!! Tha beat sounds cool, here, as always, and tha rhymes sound cool here; nice job! LOL @ tha emotional “I don’t fuck wit chu” hook; catchy-ass shit!! Tha rest of tha shit’s still good; gives me a Kevin Gates feel. My Current Rating: 4.6

07. Skit
>>> A skit, I see… “Thuggin’” skit, lol. My Rating: N/A

08.
>>> Cool beat start here; must be a big dawg on tha beat! Sounds like “straight dry/drop/drought” on tha hook; must be real great wit tha drug-type shit!! Definitely hotness ova this beat!! You got real-ass shit goin’ on, here, in tha 1st verse when it comes ta tha streetz!! LOL @ tha “got me dizzy” part; you really addicted and I’m glad it comes inta play wit dis Rap shit!!! :tu You “have (your) daughter wit you”? Ain’t it a lil’ too quick for a kid, yet? I mean, you gotta do ya thang wit dis Rap shit, first… Then again, I don’t undastand tha sex game, yet… But yea, nice job wit tha 2nd verse as you keepin’ this shit real hot like a desert!! My Current Rating: 4.7

09.
>>> This iz a new song fa me and tha “ah, you know” sounds like Savage in tha intro. Speakin’ of him, it iz him on tha hook!! Likin’ his “hustle” theme fa tha hook and song, itself!! You comin’ through wit ya tight shit on tha 1st verse; lol @ tha “money” obsession! Good “H-U-S-T-L-E” part! Sounds like someone similar, but different, on tha 2nd verse? Feelin’ these rhymes… Now, it’s back ta you on tha 3rd verse and it sounds like dat Kevin Gates perspective I had earlier! My Rating: 4.7

½time: Ooh, a 4.7-rated CD; talk about tightness!!!!!

10.
>>> Really luvin’ this production as it sounds like some ’06 – ’08 and older Baton Rouge production!! Definitely hot, here, and it sounds like you got street shit right chea… It definitely mixes great wit this beat!! At least there’s no depressin’-ass beat, which so many rappers do!! Glad you “(gettin’) some ‘gars out of tha corna sto’!” :tu Too bad you “almost got anotha charge” when it came to tha “assault and battery.” I don’t really know what dat iz but I know it’s pretty bad… I can’t picture people engagin’ demselves inta trouble. I hear singin’ on tha hook; it has ta be Dat Boy A or DJ B-Real but I’m leanin’ toward A… Pretty good ta mix wit this CD and this song, ya dig? I like tha acapella part from 2:35 – 2:39; definitely nice!! Tha 2nd verse sounded good, too, and too bad tha hook’s real short… It felt like tha beat outro came immediately. My Current Rating: 4.5

11.
>>> A Young Hits-produced joint dat I neva heard, yet. Tha hook ain’t too bad and tha rappin’ ain’t too bad, either; this a good, decent joint fa me. My Rating: 4.1

12. Skit
>>> Looks like a skit wit 45 seconds… LOL @ tha dialect!! “Whatyatalkin’’bout!” Luv it!! My Rating: N/A

13.
>>> I’m likin’ tha start wit tha beat; new song fa me… I like tha “reaper” and everything dat rhymes wit dat. Tha “procedure” shit must be a part of tha title? Feelin’ tha catchy rhymes in tha 1st verse; good job wit dis shit! LOL @ tha cliché Jeezy ending to tha 1st verse. Glad you delivered anotha street anthem fa tha streetz, ya dig? My Rating: 4.4

14. Skit
>>> LOL, anotha skit; it’s a phone call this time! Not sure what ta say… My Rating: N/A

15.
>>> Sounds like a DJ B-Real beat, right here, on tha start; definitely hot, undaground Baton Rouge shit to tha fullest!! I like how tha beat sounds go from tha left speaker to tha right speaker, back ‘n’ forth!! Tha hook sounds great on this shit, right chea; definitely “gangsta” to tha fullest!! Tha 1st verse has real-ass street/hood shit to tha fullest!! From tha pill poppin’ to tha weed smokin’, this dat shit!!! :tu Huh, a phone call at ‘round 1:25? What’s this? Nice lil’ 15 seconds wit a “fuck no!!” answer, lol! I really like how tha hook iz definitely on dat drug-type shit; you know I luv this shit to tha fullest!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and when I hear tha “bakin’ soda” shit, it always reminds me of tha “Pyrex Radio” CDs ‘cause they have all dat good pyrex!! Most definitely “pop it in tha deck and press repeat;” you know I gon luv this shit!! Glad you gave a shout out ta Dre (a.k.a. “Don” Dre) on this shit, too!! He really looks forward ta bein’ cool wit me and I reviewed his promo disc (bootleg) back when I reviewed your promo disc! My Current Rating: 4.8

16.
>>> A long, 4:52-length song; what do we got here? Shout out ta “Sav;” iz he on tha feature/beat? Sounds like a good anthem fa tha hoes; lol @ tha “I got a lotta hoes” part. Savage’s on tha 1st verse; have I heard dis before? Yea, I have (from “Self-Made Bosses”): Cool-“ass” (lol) beat start here wit tha way it sounds, Sav!! Ooh, iz dat you in tha beginning? Tight job wit tha hook and I like tha sample!! Very Savageful fa tha 1st verse fa these hoes, lol!! Interestin’ lyrics about all tha “bitches” fa tha 1st verse; nice job, ya dig? Gurlz must be a lil’ different when they on dat “weed;” I haven’t seen one on weed, yet, in my life. Ready’s on tha 2nd verse, here, and speakin’ of “two cell-phones,” Travis (who fucks wit Dirty Harry) was wonderin’ if Ready had a cell numba. In April 2009, Ready tol’ me dat, “Loc shut our phones off,” or somethin’ like dat. Then again, I think Ready lyin’ ta me when I asked him in Spring 2010, he said, “dat my girl’s phone.” But yea, Ready doin’ tha damn thang, once again, on this track; so glad ta have a collaboration goin’ on here!!! Glad you doin’ a verse, also, Mista, on this shit, right chea!! :tu Comin’ through way more sexual than Ready on this track!!! Gotta feel how you comin’ through on this shit; buku “retawdedness” goin’ on here!! My Current Rating: 4.5

17.
>>> Think this iz new—Young Hits on tha beat again! Good club-soundin’ joint although why do we need tha Gucci Mane “yeah” shit in tha background? :confused Not called for… I like how you finna “turn tha trap spot inta tha money spot” on tha hook; good shit! Hope you ‘bout ya money; you should buy somethin’ off me (mp3 promo on YouTube, commercial, etc.)! ROFL @ tha “Chuckie” shit on tha 2nd verse; you funny! My Rating: 4.3

18.
Last joint; what iz it? >>> LOL, no “Yeah” song; a Ray Vicks collaboration? Interestin’ collaboration; sounds a lil’ familiar but I don’t remember a collaboration like dis. Tha hook’s definitely tight; I can see y’all havin’ a future wit many collaborations; maybe even a mixtape together? Remember who said it first! You’re focused on here; feelin’ what you bringin’ as far as tha content! LOL, Ray soundin’ pretty good on tha 2nd verse although he always gives me a borderline feel… My Rating: 4.4

Overall: You know what it iz… Again, you have a 5-star-rated CD, even though tha promo disc scored higher. Definitely a nice job although a few songs left out. Keep up tha great work!!

Review #834: MTA (Mixtape Assassins) a.k.a. Da Ryden High Boyz "Buzz In Da Streetz Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 2.19.2011 (Review #834)

My 7th review for today iz MTA (Mixtape Assassins) a.k.a. Da Ryden High Boyz “Buzz In Da Streetz Vol. 1 off Ryden High Records. BTW, “Ryden” iz really ‘pose ta be spelled with an “in” at tha end; I guess y’all have your own way of spellin’ it, though. Really, “en” means “already done,” which there aren’t too many words that really end in “en”; it’s like, tha (Already Rode) High Boyz when there’s an “en”, lol. Anyway, no tracklisting, as it was just a CD; it gon have ta be a blind review. Start Time: 8:39 PM | End Time: 8:56 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01.
What will this sound like, since y’all are from Baker, LA? >>> Tha intro almost sounds like Drake and his “Forever” beat but it ain’t jacked at all, overall. This sounds like “gumbo” and “ridin’ high”-type shit goin’ on. LOL, I’m likin’ dis! “Tha gumbo blowin’ thru da wind;” interestin’ ta hear dat Louisiana content! Good song right here ‘bout tha “gumbo” and shit! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ good and Southern, too. Wish I’d have an official title fa dis so I can put it on my radio show! My Rating: 4.4

02.
>>> Or maybe not, since this iz an official jacked—“This Is Why I’m Hot”—beat (smh @ me writin’ dat title, still); I assume dis iz from ’07 or somethin’? Those shitty-ass, worst times eva? I like tha “here comes tha bayou beast” shit goin’ on here. Not bad, overall; tha beat turned me off, though. My Rating: 3.7

03.
>>> SMH, “We Fly High”? Why are we at my 1st college? Guess this title has ta do wit “fly”? Decent but barely any interest… My Rating: 3.1

04.
>>> LOL, each beat’s gettin’ older and older. Although ’06 wit dis “Side 2 Side”, I’m way above these dayz now!! I like tha content; sounds interestin’ but rather hear it on an original beat!! Good rappin’, though… My Rating: 3.8

05.
>>> Still gettin’ older, as we’re in ’05 now wit “Shine On”, lol. This iz decent fa me… My Rating: 3.2

06.
>>> Now, it’s ’01 wit “Until The End Of Time”; thought we were gonna be in ’04 but we jumped far back. I’m likin’ tha dark voice startin’ dis shit off. Tha rappin’s good and tha content gives some interest… My Rating: 3.7

½time: A 3.7-rated CD, so far. Thought this would be original beats since I have a hard copy of it.

07.
>>> Back to ’05 wit “Get Ya Hustle On”; sounds decent… I like tha way y’all rappin’ dis shit; all about tha “kush,” ya dig?! My Rating: 3.6

08.
>>> Sounds like an Usher beat intro or somethin’, whateva dis iz/was. I dunno what ta say about dis; good rhymes, once again. My Rating: 3.3

09.
>>> Don’t really recognize this beat but it’s okay for a start. I have nothin’ ta really say ‘bout dis decent joint, too. My Rating: 2.9

10.
>>> Here comes tha ’07 again wit “Naw Mean”… A cliché, somewhat-childish-soundin’ “do you see what I see” shit in tha beginning. Almost sounds like “R.I.P.,” lol. I think this iz catchier than some of tha other shit on here. My Rating: 3.5

11.
>>> Not “A Bay Bay”, especially dat stupid-ass 5:04 length!! Too cheesy and typical to tha original version. Tha voice iz definitely a plus but nothin’ special when it comes ta makin’ a song… My Rating: 2.8

12.
>>> Don’t recognize dis beat but it’s pretty nice… SMH @ a “dance” ta end dis decent/somewhat-below average CD. “Shimi”? I think I like “shimi-ing” but this ain’t that interestin’/not too bad, either. My Rating: 2.6

Overall: As said before, decent, but nothin’ special due to tha boring jacked beats.

Review #833: Dirty Harry "Paraphernalia"

Reviewed on 2.19.2011 (Review #833)

Continuin’ on wit Dirty Harry “Paraphernalia!! Aye Harry, you get my awards? My bad dat I have ta ask; I was waitin’ ta hear from you for almost a month, now. All jointz on this mixtape are produced by E.P., L Boogie/Dot Com Beatz, and Savage Beats! Start Time: 6:43 PM | End Time: 7:44 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. Intro
Time ta get inta some Dirty Harry, bwoi!!! >>> Hidden Harry they should call you now, lol! Interestin’ intro! My Rating: N/A

02. “Money Over Murder”
This made it to this CD and iz really only about two minutes long. I like how tha beat sounds and it was a randomly-thrown song on my 4th compilation mixtape, released two months ago on tha 21st. Even though I gave it a lower rating for randomly bein’ on my mixtape, when on here, it makes more sense and gets tha plus from me! Good, consistent shit from you, here; lookin’ forward ta hearin’ tha rest of dis CD! My Current Rating: 4.0

03. “Take It There” Feat. Max Minelli & Savage
Thought I heard dis before but it was “Take A Look At Me” from your previous CD. Anyway, lookin’ forward ta hearin’ dis!! >>> Savage produced dis one and dis iz soundin’ pretty good/better! I’m likin’ tha catchy hook; you know what it iz! You’re on tha 1st verse and you already know you’re keepin’ tha hot shit comin’ along! Max’s on tha 2nd verse and he sounds good ta collaborate wit you; definitely a plus! Ooh, Savage’s contributin’ a verse, too! Thumbs up ta him; he really keeps tha quality goin’ along!! LOL @ tha “vaginas” part! Good job wit dis collab, ya dig? Supastar status!! My Rating: 4.3

04. “Game”
A short title could mean a good thing! >>> Tha production sounds like KLC and some of tha Calicoe The Champ shit! Ooh, as soon as it starts kickin’ in, it’s soundin’ pretty nice for tha South! I’m likin’ dat you’re enjoyin’ how you’re comin’ through wit dis shit, on tha real! Good vibes, here; anotha song wit just one whole verse? Tha good thing about you iz dat you keep goin’ and goin’, keepin’ my interest up! My Rating: 4.2

05. “U Cud Get It” Feat. Jay Hussa & Yung Rudy
Likin’ tha collab! Believe they look familiar, Grand Theft Audio Music/Napoleonville style, so I gon anticipate dis, too! >>> Tha beat’s pretty nice (almost sounds like a gun game/show or somethin’, lol) and tha dude on tha 1st verse sounds like you, in a way; must be tha Napoleonville blood, lol? Here you are on tha hook and it’s soundin’ pretty nice; good title, too. Tha 2nd verse sounds good; anotha one of tha featured dudes, doin’ they thang! You’re on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit your “permanent” tightness, lol! My Rating: 4.1

06. “Gangsta Pose”
Let’s see what “gangsta pose” you got goin’ on here… >>> Ooh, nice beat start and tha title part’s catchy. I’m feelin’ how you comin’ through wit your “pose” and rhymes here, ya dig? Tha hook’s catchy; I’m likin’ dis for a song, ya dig? “You niggaz ain’t nothin’ but some word problems;” oh, I remember those, lol! Glad you mentioned ‘em in this song when it comes ta bullshit people, lol! My Rating: 4.2

07. “Let It Ride”
What do we got here? >>> Much longer on tha length and tha beat’s pretty smooth… I’m actually likin’ tha smooth approach as well as your “bwoi” shit keepin’ thangz in a good mood! Good job havin’ your own “path” and shit. I like how you handlin’ tha hook, here, wit “(lettin’) it ride!” LOL, “I go hard—erect flow;” ROFL, you punchin’ people wit these random punchlines! You’re keepin’ me interested, here, wit a smooth, long song; most people can’t do dat! Tha 3rd verse has interestin’ “which house” shit when it comes ta a “girl” in it; thumbs up fa keepin’ tha different topics comin’ along! Glad you have a 4th verse, too! How cool dat I’m sittin’ here, listenin’ to tha whole CD; wit other CDs, right now (mainly wit one artist), I’m just listenin’ to tha 1st verse and hook ‘cause I’m short on time. Anyway, good job handlin’ yourself wit how you “keep winnin’” on this shit; you always are considered a “winner” in my book, especially since you got a few awards from me last year! Ooh, nice “where dat weed at? Lemme hit dat” ending; fuckin’ luv you, Dirty Harry!!! My Rating: 4.4

08. “Same Shit” Feat. Tall Man
Let’s hear dis one… >>> Anotha smooth joint but I’m feelin’ it, once again! I like tha Jamaican hook to mix wit tha smoothness; who would guess I’d really like shit like dis? You’re, just, real interestin’ when it comes ta what you deliver; I devour tha music, ya dig?! Keepin’ tha 2nd verse goin’ along wit mo shit; glad you grindin’ and hustlin’ AHAP, lol!! Tha 3rd verse also has some good shit, too; you’re not borin’ me wit your life dat I wanna hear! My Rating: 4.1

½time: So far, so good! Different styles that I’m definitely likin’ ‘cause it’s you; you always keep my interest up! Now, you’re at 4.2 wit tha CD rating; can you keep it up?!

09. “Beat It Up” Feat. Jay Hussa
Startin’ off tha 2nd ½ wit… >>> I, just, fuckin’ luv how you come through wit shit, “bwoi!!!” Catchy-ass intro wit a hot-soundin’ beat and a hot-ass hook!! Hussa sounds like rapper Two Feet on tha 1st verse; glad y’all bring dat catchy music to tha masses!!! You’re on tha 2nd verse, here, and you’re always a master wit tha ad-libs!! I’m likin’ how you feel like you’re havin’ tha best of fun while rappin’! My Rating: 4.3

10. “I’m Da Shit”
>>> Ooh, been waitin’ ta hear dat E.P. beat tag! This time, I heard it twice in a row on this joint, in slow motion! Ooh, tha hook’s catchy as fuck as well as tha beat soundin’ real nice!!! LOL, feelin’ your cool-cocky-kinda attitude on tha 1st verse, lol! You ain’t “leavin’” or doin’ anything demotivated, ya dig?! ROFL @ tha 2nd verse! “She say, ‘dat dick too fat’;” ROFL, Mr. Harry! Or should tha hoes call you “Hairy,” lol?!? You definitely are “da shit,” all day, err-day!!! Tha 3rd verse sounds like you requested dem horrible rappers ta get some Dirty Harry treatment when it comes ta rhymes; interestin’! My Rating: 4.4

11. “Sing To Ya”
What’s this “sing” shit? >>> At least it only 3:15 but I hear jacked vocals in tha background. Kinda soundin’ a lil’ betta when tha kicks come in tha beat… Now, you’re Kind Harry, lol. Everytime those jacked vocals repeat in tha beat, they’re soundin’ more and more catchy; you can’t escape ‘em, lol!! This was a pretty-good joint; thumbs up! I like tha lil’ acapella ending, too! My Rating: 4.0

12. “Mind Ya Bidness”
>>> Tha previous joint sounded different; let’s see if dis one can hold tight, too. This joint sounds a lil’ louder, lol? Tha hook sounds pretty nice wit tha screwed voice and female on it; sounds like some shit I’d hear in tha Early ‘00s! Good shit you spittin’ in tha 1st verse… Tha 2nd verse iz mainly you and yaself when it comes ta stick ta “ya bidness.” My Rating: 3.8

13. “Pussy”
LOL, short-and-sweet title we got here! >>> Ooh, E.P.’s beat tag without a beat behind it, lol. Tha hook sounds pretty nice, on tha X-rated tip! I like tha smooth beat dat E.P. laid fa tha track, here, ya dig? I like how you sound seductive on tha vocals, here, Harry; good shit (fa tha ladies)! Tha 2nd verse iz real nice wit tha consistent shit you keepin’ thangz comin’ along to tha fullest! ROFL, enablin’ some “masturbation” on tha 3rd verse; what a horny chick dis must be!! She’s Dirty Harrytized!!! Ooh, an orgasm from tha random chick in tha song!! My Rating: 4.1

14. “Rich Nigga Fan” Feat. J Fletcha
Ooh, tha follow up ta “I Got Soul” when it comes ta tha collab!! >>> Tha beat iz definitely addictive and tha hook’s pretty catchy! Nothin’ ta complain about, here!! Of course, I already luv Fletch, so it’s real great ta hear him contribute ta dis track!! You did a nice job wit tha 1st verse and Fletch’s comin’ through wit his catchy-ass shit fa tha 2nd verse!!
