Review #1,337: Hollowtip "Back At It: The Mixtape Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 10.30.2013 (Review #1,337)

Keepin’ tha reviewz goin’, I have a Ruff-N-Rugged Entertainment release up next! Yup, comin’ back ta haunt me? Naw, I fuck wit them; just haven’t heard them since last year. But, this a new artist by tha name of Hollowtip! He got a hold of me, so you know I’m lookin’ forward ta this! He 28, and 28 a special age, at tha moment, so I’m even more anticipated! This his latest CD, Back At It: The Mixtape Vol. 1! Let’s get inta this!! Start Time: 11:31 PM | End Time: 12:35 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

01. “Wild Out” Feat. Buck
Just “Buck”, now? Lil’ Buck… >>> Feelin’ tha beat, here… Definitely sounds like some great gangsta shit fa tha undaground! Really enjoyin’ tha “wild out” on tha hook!! 1985 baby; tha magic iz in tha age!! Really feelin’ tha 1st verse from you; you’re just warning people tha dangers of fuckin’ wit ya!! “Swangin’ through tha trees;” what an “ape” you iz!! Tha 2nd verse sounds nice from you, too; I really am enjoyin’ what you’re bringin’ to tha table!! Hopefully, I can make some money off of ya, so you can be way ahead of tha other rappers, when it comes ta bein’ promoted!! I’m definitely interested in helpin’ you out!! Buck on tha 3rd verse, here, and he born in ’84—one of tha best years!! Got two of tha best years on tha track, and Buck comin’ through wit dat serious shit! Can’t fuck wit him; you turn into lava pieces!! Mane, this iz a serious track right chea!! My Rating: 4.6

02. “U Don’t Know Me”
!! >>> Whoo @ tha beat start; sounds like somethin’ serious outta dat 225!! I’m real glad you discovered me!! I prolly could’ve done a live review ta this CD, but because I’m so busy—as well as wantin’ ta finally do business wit you—I just wanted to get this review outta tha way. Sounds like some serious shit on tha 1st verse wit tha “Wells Fargo” and “bank!” Was that tha hook? Sounds like it, and here’s tha 1st verse… Breakin’ tha “powerplay!” Nice job!! Here’s tha 2nd verse, and you really gettin’ a nice chunk of “money!” Talk about me: I find money—scratch-off lottery tickets! I’m good at findin’ money! Nice tough outro, too! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Thumbs Up” Feat. Buck
>>> Feelin’ tha beat start, once again!! Tha hook sounds catchy, here; you know how ta come through wit dat tight shit!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it’s pretty nice, here!! Uh oh: From 1:23 – 1:30, you started suckin’ dick wit dat auto-tune! Good thing it was only seven seconds, so it just slides on by, without me havin’ ta take off, like, a whole point or two! Shout out ta tha boy, Buck, on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through like a supastar!! I hope ta talk ta him soon; I was him for Halloween last year, and what do ya know? Halloween 2013’s tomorrow! Great job from him; nice collaboration! My Rating: 4.5

04. “Blood Money”
>>> Not really anticipatin’ tha intro, as it sounds like I’m expectin’ a bad a-tune song, or somethin’… HeartBeatz beat… Hearin’ tha hook, and though I don’t like tha title/topic, as well as there bein’ some a-tune on tha hook, I think I can slightly deal with this. As long as tha verses don’t have it. Then, I gon skip it… Okay, 1st verse ain’t too bad, here, but I think my anticipation’s low… LOL, just got a text from you: “Bet;” you luv textin’ just, “bet,” lol! Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad; y’all want people ta “drink” tha “blood money;” Halloweenness, lol! My Rating: 3.7

05. “Ride Wit Me”
>>> Damn, not anotha a-tune hook! This iz startin’ ta be too much, though this ain’t that bad, either… Then again, I dunno if I can get “high” off of an a-tune’d voice! Weird, not-listed people singing! Anyway, here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some okay rhymes. They’re not tha best, and tha beat’s only aight fa me, here… C’mon, where’s tha really-great vibes from tha 1st three songs? Tha rest of this iz aight fa me… My Rating: 3.4

06. “9 To 5”
>>> Kinda a long intro, here, clockin’ in at 30 seconds fa an okay start… Okay, hearin’ tha hook and it sounds a lil’ exciting wit this girl “poppin’!” Tha 1st verse ain’t that bad, here… I think this iz an okay song, overall; nothin’ has really struck my attention like tha 1st three songs, so far… Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re real focused… It’s like, does any rapper have a problem wit “fuckin’?” Seems like it’s so easy fa y’all; I dunno… My Rating: 4.0

07. “#MollyWorld”
>>> Came into tha 1st verse outta nowhere… Sounds like tha vibe’s good, here; feelin’ tha energy! Ooh, I’m likin’ tha hook a lot from you!! Sounds like you have a lot of energy!! Gotta luv this “#MollyWorld” y’all goin’ to!! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too! Whoo, this joint’s fulla energy!! This iz what them previous jointz needed!! “Spaceships!!” My Rating: 4.5

08. “Get 2 It” Feat. Lil’ Yung
>>> Anotha great vibe; it’s all about gettin’ loaded and shit! Nice job wit tha hook; glad you luv tha “mollies!” BTW, what are they like? Gotta luv ya fa dat! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, here; glad you got all tha energy, once again!! As long as you feel like a big boss ta me, as well as someone who I’m dyin’ ta meet, then you’ll win everytime! Didn’t know what ta expect wit tha Yung person on tha 2nd verse (almost thought it was gonna be a girl, like Lil’ Yungin), but it’s a dude, and he sounds tight! Almost sounds like Big Wayne’s brother, J.D., but a lil’ older? Dude tha shit; glad he feelin’ fucked up from all this shit! Yea, not “bandz,” here! It’s all about dem “xanz!” “Xanz a make her dance,” lol! Tha 3rd verse from you’s nice, here; gotta feel it!! “Toilet-bowl niggaz,” huh? Wow, you really rule ‘em all!! My Rating: 4.4

½time: So far, this CD sounds real great ta me!! Just a lil’ decent around tha middle of tha 1st ½, but for what I’m hearin’, I mainly luv!! A 4.2-rated CD, currently!! Now, let’s see if I can call and get a hold of you ta tell you what’s up… Okay, got a hold of you and I’m glad you appreciate me supportin’ you!!

09. “Red Light” Feat. Delwin The Krazyman & Buck
>>> Fuck, WTF? Title switch! This iz “Red Light”; dammit! You tricked me, and now, I almost had ta listen ta Delwin fa a sec.! Thank God, I was able to skip him in time! Tha previous review I did had a mixed-up tracklist; I didn’t think it would lead inta this, too… Anyway, this Q-Red-produced track’s soundin’ nice! Hearin’ Buck on tha 2nd verse, and it sounds pretty nice; he doin’ tha damn thang, here!! Glad you’re here, finally! You’re comin’ through on tha 3rd verse wit some hype shit! Don’t you just luv Q-Red beats, huh? He been M.I.A. for a while; haven’t even talked ta him in, like, three years… Lot has changed since then, for me! “Ruff-N-Rugged” in tha building; good shit!! My Rating: 4.5

10. “Dumb$hit”
>>> Glad it was just a title swap. This iz “Dumb$hit”, and it sounds nice and energetic wit tha beat and hook!! Damn, you so good wit showin’ off your energy!! Tha 1st verse sounds nice, here; definitely feelin’ what you got goin’ on, here!! Damn, really gutta wit tha 2nd verse, here; gotta luv ya!! Wow, this iz a crazy-ass joint!!! My Rating: 4.8

11. “Do It” Feat. Lil’ Trell
>>> Anotha really-hype song; “do it!! Do it!! Do it!!” Wow, you’re real crazy wit it!! Tha 1st verse sounds great, here; dumbshit!! Tha 2nd verse iz this Trell dude, and he sounds great, too! Sounds like a friend you grew up wit, since they have that hunger in their voice, like you do? Definitely feelin’ them; keep ya eyes open!! My Rating: 4.5

12. “LeBron James”
Capital “B”! >>> Real nice beat start, here!! Kinda sounds like I wanna play Ahh! Real Monsters, or somethin’, lol? Oh, it’s Young Hustla on tha beat; thumbs up fa hookin’ up wit him fa a track! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and I’m glad you stickin’ to tha topic, here, of “LeBron James!” You really own everythang!! Here’s tha 2nd verse… You’re comin’ through wit some gutta shit, at its finest!! Mane, I got a lotta luv fa you, bruh!! I definitely think you’re on ya way ta bein’ “tha best up in tha game!” If it don’t happen in tha undaground or mainstream, I know that you gon hold a title in my book!! Nice outro, too; keep holdin’ tha “fort” down!!! My Rating: 4.4

13. “Murder Game”
>>> Nice beat, and you comin’ through wit an energetic style, once again, fa tha hood, here, on tha hook! Tha 1st verse sounds good, too, really servin’ like “Serena!!” Tha 2nd verse sounds great, too; you really holdin’ shit down to tha fullest!!! My Rating: 4.5

14. “4 Golds” Feat. Young Soulja
Lookin’ forward ta this Ruff-N-Rugged collaboration!! >>> Yea!! Feelin’ tha hook; Soulja “fulla dem pillz” wit you!! Damn, I gotta hook up wit him, too!! Gotta show him tha most luv!! Here he iz on tha 1st verse, comin’ through like a real gangsta should!! Damn, Soulja really holdin’ this shit down!! Damn, you comin’ through on tha 2nd verse in a strong way, too!! This iz what Baton Rouge ‘pose ta sound like!! Fuck all those wannabees tryna change up sounds like wack-ass other coasts!! And, not ta mention, gotta luv tha “golds” in tha “grill!!” Haven’t seen “golds” in a “grill” since, like, October 6, 2007—tha only day I saw ‘em! Sucks that I don’t get ta see much from tha south. :( My Rating: 4.8

15. “1 Life, 1 Luv”
>>> I’m feelin’ how this sounds; it has a bit of a calmer sound, but your hunger’s still here! Nice job wit tha hook, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it sounds like you’re really here ta cater ta ya “people!” Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and this “shit” you’re providin’ iz tha “shit!” And yea, I “can sniff it, too,” and boi, do you stank bad, Hollowtip, ya heard me!?! Whoo!!! Mane, your “shit” iz soooo strong, you gon kill all your haterz!!! My Rating: 4.3

16. “Born Ruff N Rugged”
Looks like a bonus, as tha album says, Ruff-N-Rugged Compilation (Da Mixtape) Vol. 1. Anyway, not sure if I gon be anticipated fa this, due to a part of tha features… >>> Sounds like a familiar joint ta end this, wit a Tupac-soundin’ beat remake, too… Nice job wit tha hook!! Hearin’ you also on tha 1st verse, and you sound pretty tight, here! Yea, “cool as a fan;” gon dedicate a lot of my time ta you, I know it (hopefully)!! Thumbs up fa still “sellin’ drugs” and shit; don’t give up on bein’ you! I hate dudes when they be changin’ and shit!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and it sounds good from you. LOL, where are all tha features? It says that Delwin The Krazyman, Ceddybu Da Rap Sumo, Buck & Young Soulja are on this, but it’s just you? Weird… My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Great CD, bruh!! You definitely did a nice job wit this one!!! Keep up tha great work!! Now that tha review’s over, it’s time ta do some business!! And, as hectic as my schedule iz, you know I stop doin’ what I’m doin’ ta help you out, ya feel me?!

Reviewed on 10.30.2013 (Review #1,336)

Time fa Boss Click Muzik ta stand up, here: 2 Slugz a.k.a. Slugz Lucas No Handouts (Hosted by DJ Ya Boy Earl) iz what I finna review! Start Time: 8:06 PM | End Time: 9:32 PM

01. “No Handouts (Intro)”
LOL, my 1st review:
>>> I really like how you sound in tha beginning, here; always C.A.F.—cool as fuck! Consistent rhymes!! Soundin’ cool throughout this whole intro; good shit! And, Earl on tha outro, here; gotta feel how anticipated he iz!! My Rating: 4.3
What wound up bein’ my 2nd review (without realizing):
>>> Really likin’ how you comin’ through on tha intro, here; gotta feel it! Betta than tha Lil’ Snupe 16 & Runnin’ CD I previously reviewed; you got dat good vibe, here! Hearin’ tha 1st verse (or, only verse, based off this length), and it sounds good… LOL, tha “Instagram flexin’” line again, from a previous song. Oh, I think this was tha “No Handout (Intro)”. LOL, forgot tha intro was incorrect… Oh wait, this iz tha intro… LOL, I wound up rating it tha same, twice; weird… My Rating: 4.3

02. “You Ain’t Gotta Lie”
>>> Ooh, this sounds catchy wit tha beat and how you deliver tha hook! This one that “You Ain’t Gotta Lie”; tight shit! Tha 1st verse sounds good, here; you keepin’ tha sound up! Can’t deny Slugz! Always sounds like you’ve neva had a bad moment; you keep bein’ uplifted! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good, too. Almost thought tha 1st ½ of it sounds a lil’ off-beat, but I can’t front on listenin’ ta you right now, Slugz! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Cell Phone Ringin’” Feat. Zoom
Keep ‘em comin’! >>> Sounds like a “Welcome To Jamrock” sample in tha beginning; let’s see what this about… Earl obsessed wit swaggin’, here… Tha 1st verse ain’t too bad, here… Okay, this tha “Cell Phone Ringin’” song, finally… Ooh @ Zoom on tha 2nd verse; sounds like Juvie, and sounds like a great black dude! Like, when you see a black dude and they just proud of who they are? Well, that’s what he sounds like, and I’m definitely feelin’ what he bringin’ to tha table!! Shit-fuckin’-yeah!! My Rating: 4.4

04. “Insane”
B_Bangerz doin’ tha beat, here! >>> Good reppin’ in tha beginning, Earl! “Boss Click Muzik!” Here’s tha “Insane” song; lol, startin’ off wit tha 1st verse wit tha title! Catchy, consistent rhymes on tha 1st verse from you, Slugz! Good shit! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, here; straight “wiggin’, bruh,” lol! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Tomorrow” Feat. Young Racks
True dat! >>> Nice vibe, here; sounds like you’re focused!! LOL, this “Tomorrow”, wit some “alright, alright” shit in tha background, too! Catchy job; ironic dat Rocko’s “Tomorrow” came on Music Choice: Rap as a lil’ throwback today. Haven’t heard it in a while; can’t believe it’s five years old! Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and we startin’ wit tha Young Racks dude! I luv tha peeps you be teamin’ up wit, Slugz; they official wit it! Gotta give it up ta this Racks dude, comin’ through nicely fa you! Now, here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through nicely on tha 2nd verse, too! “Bustin’ like piñataz!” My Rating: 4.3

06. “On That R. Kelly” Feat. Mac Soul
A bonus ta end, which iz not on tha back cover? Let’s see what we got, here… >>> Funny how Earl’s still in tha background. I neva thought that my weird-thinking mix-and-mastering that I do would be easier to hear… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and we got you, comin’ through wit an okay vibe. LOL, I’m not sure about this title. We’ll see what happens… Anyway, it’s you on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some good shit fa tha ladies, as you’re active on ‘em, lol! My Rating: 4.0

07. “Click Juice” Feat. Codakk Demond
LOL, I was just thinkin’ about “Juice”-titled songs, earlier today. I remember hangin’ wit my boy, Juice, from my 1st college, and there bein’ “Juice”-titled songs out, back in’ 08 (Kane & Abel “Get Rite Juice” & Tyga “Coconut Juice”), lol! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this! >>> Hearin’ tha 1st second, and it sounds like this tha “Click Juice”; let’s see… Yup; sounds like a good hook and all about gettin’ fucked up! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, Slugz; good shit! Codakk sounds catchy on tha 2nd verse; “listen very carefully” ‘cause he deliverin’ some great shit! “My secret weapon;” this dude’s official wit it, fa dat Boss Click! My Rating: 4.3

08. “Star”
B-to-tha-Bangerz! >>> This sounds catchy; I like how tha beat sounds, as well as how you sound on this, Slugz! Nice job wit tha 1st verse… This one’s “Star”. LOL, thought it was gonna be tha bonus track… Damn, 37 seconds of silence at tha end? Not cool… My Rating: 4.2

09. “One Life To Live” Feat. Chop & Chess
>>> Sounds like a forgivin’ song… Sounds catchy, and it sounds familiar? LOL, I got tha right title here, based off of swapping (“One Life To Live”). Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it’s you, comin’ through wit your “status up;” that’s what’s “up!” Really feelin’ tha hook, as I’m hearin’ it for tha 2nd time! Gotta luv how you “put your heart and soul” inta it! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and I dunno if I wanna say this, but they give me a Meek Mill feel—that sounds so 2008, when I say that name. Anyway, anotha good collab! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse from Chess here, and it sounds like it fits. And, an Earl check-in at tha end… My Rating: 4.3

½time: So far, off to a great start, just as I expected!! Slugz, you definitely holdin’ it down, and as much as I enjoy Earl, I have ta say, will he get outta tha background and come center? Either way, 4.3 for tha current CD rating!! Also, sometimes, during tha ½ point, I call folks, see if they’ll answer. Lemme see if you’ll answer, real quick… Of course, Slugz answered (forgot that I didn’t give him my new #)! 6:57! Also, got tha ‘Slugz hookup’ on thangz, so I got ta hear some interesting thangz! Glad we’ve been connected since Spring 2009!

10. “100 Roundz” Feat. Live Boy Scooter
Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this! I know you can last “100 roundz,” Slugz! >>> I like how Earl’s in tha intro, here, but he sounds way too far deep in tha background, lol? Anyway, title mix-up? Sounds like you’re sayin’, “100 Roundz,” a lot, here, which iz one of your titles…? Weird, but I’ll see what happens… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and it sounds good, just as catchy as tha hook. Tha 2nd verse sounds good here, too; keep it comin’! Oh, here’s a feature: Okay, I guess this iz “100 Roundz” and not “You Ain’t Gotta Lie”. We got Live Boy Scooter on tha 3rd verse, here, and he crazy wit it!! Gotta luv how he comin’ through wit it!! Fastness, hood shit; gotta luv it!! How many times I gon say it?! “Gotta luv it!!!” Good outro from Earl, too… My Rating: 4.4

11. “Jumpin’” Feat. Bigg Nick & J.Beezie
>>> If this tha right song, it sounds good for a start… Sounds like you enjoyin’ yaself on tha 1st verse; can’t complain about it, Slugz! Fuck! Anotha error: Damn, this gon be a confusing-ass review! This #11: “Jumpin’” Feat. Bigg Nick & J.Beezie. I’m cutting/pasting tha original titles, and swappin’ ‘em, so I don’t get confused, later on… Anyway, that Bigg Nick dude on tha 2nd verse serious wit it!! Definitely feelin’ how he comin’ through, and forcin’ tha haterz ta “eat” sum “dick” at tha end! That dude tha truth! Hope we connect real soon! Got Beezie on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit some nice shit, on a consistent level—damn @ tha fast rhymes on tha 4th bar!! LOL @ tha ending from Earl, broadcastin’ from, like, a baseball field! My Rating: 4.4

12. “Freaky”
B-Bangerz! >>> Let’s see if this “Freaky”—oh, Earl said tha title in tha beginning. Here we go again wit tha title swap… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it sounds great on this beat! Slugz, you know you tha truth if you “skeeted in her hair!!” Damn, Slugz!! I like how Earl appears in tha hooks, outta nowhere. LOL, he’s so buried in tha background!! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too, Slugz! You wild wit it!! My Rating: 4.3

13. “Runnin’ Ya Trap”
>>> Sounds like you on some gangsta shit, here… Tha hook sounds nice; blends in nice from tha 1st verse! Let’s keep it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here… Sounds good; sounds like it went by quickly… LOL, Earl on tha ending! My Rating: 4.2

14. “Free”
LOL. >>> Nice beginning, wit a really slow beat, lol! Sounds catchy wit tha 1st verse, as your “dick” iz all ova these hoes, lol! Here’s “Free”, and what do ya know? Tha title on tha mp3 file iz correct! That’s a first fa this CD! Or, iz this “On That R. Kelly”, based off tha 2nd verse? I dunno, but we’ll see wit tha next song. I think I got this right, though, since it’s only you on this joint… Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; can’t deny it! My Rating: 4.2

15. “Over Here” Feat. LEXCann
>>> Who’s “Alexis,” or what Earl said in tha beginning? Let’s see what gon happen… Sounds like a cool joint wit tha hook, here… Oh, this ain’t “Free”; this “Over Here”; really hoppin’ wit tha titles! Now, I see who tha featured person iz… She’s on tha 1st verse, and she sounds good, fa a youngin. Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, here, and it sounds nice. Glad you “loaded,” Slugz! Always gotta be “loaded;” it’s a great feelin’! Even got your “clothes soakin’ wet!” Sounds like you live a crazy/cool life; at least you ain’t gotta worry ‘bout no kids, unlike all these weirdos that have these crazy lives that I deal with! My Rating: 4.2

16. “Tear It Up” Feat. Drewsky
>>> This one iz “Tear It Up”… Not bad wit tha singin’ on tha hook, here! Here comes tha 1st verse, and this Drewsky dude’s sexed-up, lol. Here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some catchy shit; immediately wants her, lol! My Rating: 4.1

17. “All Week” Feat. Lil’ Cali
Yes, a Lil’ Cali feature! LOL, I had a dream last night, and Lil’ Cali was in it. We was in Wilkes-Barre (about 40 minutes from my house), in some meeting (forgot what it was about). And, in order to get to it, I think, you had to fall down a really deep hole, underground. We tried to get some selfies and then, we went to Wal-Mart. I was tryin’ to upload tha pics, but there was no wi-fi. LOL, shout out ta Cali! His birthday was ironically two months ago today! >>> Tha beat sounds nice, here; sounds like that 2006 – 2008-soundin’ jiggin’ music!! Oh shit, this tha Lil’ Cali feature!! Can’t wait ta continue hearin’ this!! Catchy 1st verse, and tha hook’s catchy, too; you doin’ tha damn thang, Slugz!! Here’s Cali on tha 2nd verse, and lol, I thought he was gon “get head,” but he “duckin’ tha feds.” :( Great joint right chea!! Cali did tha damn thang; keep grindin’!! My Rating: 4.5

18. “Not This Time” Feat. Leezy & B.D.B.
>>> I’m likin’ tha quiet intro a lot, here… Had no idea what this was gon be, but it’s “Not This Time”… Tha hook sounds good/catchy fa this beat. Tha 1st verse sounds good, too, from you. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and it sounds good, here… Not sure who on tha 2nd verse outta tha features, but good shit… Sounds like a lil’ break before tha 3rd verse? Now, tha 3rd verse, and it’s not bad… Nice job wit tha outro, Earl; gotta put tha contact info out there! Can’t believe I’ve been in contact wit you fa almost a ½ decade, Slugz! My Rating: 4.1

19. “Burn One” (Codakk Demond Feat. Slugz Lucas, B.D.B. & Mac Soul)
Not included…? My Rating: N/A

Overall: Okay, I screwed up tha titles to #01 & #11; lemme go back and see what they iz… LOL, #01 & #13 are tha intro… Based off tha feature, #11 must be “On That R. Kelly”? One that’s not on here iz tha bonus track: “Burn One” (Codakk Demond Feat. Slugz Lucas, B.D.B. & Mac Soul). Also, this iz how I reviewed tha CD, which was tha order it was in on LiveMixtapes:

01. “No Handouts (Intro)”
02. “100 Roundz” Feat. Live Boy Scooter
03. “Jumpin’” Feat. Bigg Nick & J.Beezie
04. “Freaky”
05. “Runnin’ Ya Trap”
06. “Over Here” Feat. LEXCann
07. “Not This Time” Feat. Leezy & B.D.B.
08. “Cell Phone Ringin’” Feat. Zoom
09. “Insane”
10. “Tomorrow” Feat. Young Racks
11. “On That R. Kelly” Feat. Mac Soul
12. “One Life To Live” Feat. Chop & Chess
13. “No Handouts (Intro)”
14. “Free”
15. “Tear It Up” Feat. Drewsky
16. “All Week” Feat. Lil’ Cali
17. “You Ain’t Gotta Lie”
18. “Click Juice” Feat. Codakk Demond
19. “Star”

I wound up puttin’ it in tha correct order in my review (according to tha back cover). Anyway, I thought this was a great CD, in your own wayz, Slugz!! I enjoyed it; you did tha damn thang wit this one!! Keep up tha great work!! But, I don’t think they should’ve mixed tha tracklist up this bad. Why couldn’t someone like Kevin Gates suffer tha consequences of a mixed-up tracklisting, lol?

Review #1,335: Lil' Snupe "16 & Runnin' (Tha Mixtape) (Hosted by DJ Ya Boy Earl)"

Reviewed on 10.30.2013 (Review #1,335)

Took a nap and installed a PSX emulator, but now, I’m back! Here goes my next review: Lil’ Snupe 16 & Runnin’ (Tha Mixtape) (Hosted by DJ Ya Boy Earl). I think I found this by Ya Boy Earl-searching on LiveMixtapes. This was also released on tha final triple number date: 12.12.12. Start Time: 6:47 PM | End Time: 7:38 PM

01. “16”
>>> Nice job wit tha 1st verse; pretty consistent wit deliverin’ your life! So, your “mama” must be 33 now, since she had you “at 16.” Tha 2nd verse sounds great, too; feelin’ it! My Rating: 4.4

02. “Runnin’”
>>> Ooh, Earl on tha intro; good shit! Here you are wit tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some street shit, despite your young age… Nice job wit tha rhymes, and yea, I gon hate when I get “big,” to where people’ll be on my dick, or somethin’. Then again, that won’t happen for a long while from now! My Rating: 4.2

03. “Relax”
>>> Beat ain’t too bad, here; it sounds good wit your rappin’ on it… Once again, mo real shit… An outro from Earl, too. Yea, “be you.” I know a lotta people ignore me ‘cause of what I do, but I could give a fuck ‘bout err-body’s self-absorbed asses! My Rating: 4.1

04. “Freestyle 1”
>>> Kinda recognize this beat, but whateva; I know it’s jacked… Consistent rhymes, here; can’t complain… For a jacked-beat song, this iz nice! Great ending, including a quick Earl outro! My Rating: 4.0

05. “Honestly Speakin’”
>>> Sounds nice. Was that an edit to “hoes” at 1:46, or was that tha beat? Sounded like tha beat; weird… Either way, nice shit ta define a grind! And, an Earl outro! My Rating: 4.2

06. “Boot Up”
>>> Now, this iz a Louisiana sound fa tha beat, here! Sounds good; now, I know you’re from Jonesboro, LA—neva knew exactly where in Louisiana ‘til now. Sounds like a catchy 1st verse; can’t deny it… Tha hook sounds good and energetic wit how you’re comin’ through wit it! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; nice attitude. A 3rd verse, here… Prolly could’ve had a feature, but it’s not like this iz bad… My Rating: 4.3

07. “Harder” Feat. Hippo & C Nyle
>>> I don’t even know tha “Cap” producer or whoeva it iz. It’s like, I thought I knew most? But, you sound good on tha 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha hook, and it sounds good wit one of tha features; nice and “hard” wit tha times. Here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through, “smokin’” all different colors. Two features here, but I think I only heard tha one dude on tha hook? Anyway, good lil’ joint, here. An outro here from you… And, anotha outro from Earl; sounds like he has a cold, lol, but it’s great ta hear him! My Rating: 4.2

½time: So far, pretty consistent! I like it betta than tha CD he put out afta this, which was…, what was tha name of it again? Oh, R.N.I.C.. LOL, I had to look on my blog for tha title… Anyway, 4.2 for tha CD rating, currently!

08. “Ready To Go” Feat. C Nyle
>>> Prolly tha least-favorite joint fa me on this CD, so far. Tha hook sounds like a different song, and I’m not really into it. However, this beat sounds nice ta hear for someone who was livin’ off their last months! Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it sounds okay/good… Tha 2nd verse sounds okay/good, too; not bad, overall… My Rating: 3.6

09. “Ready Or Not (Remix)”
>>> Was wondering why this was a ‘remix,’ but now, I see why wit tha beat choice (see tha title). Not sure if I’m anticipatin’ Earl’s intro, here… Ehh, your 1st verse was okay, but I didn’t need all that anticipation. Plus, I’m not a fan of havin’ tha original version’s parts in tha song. I take off fa that; it’s so uncalled for! Damn, why iz this a longer hook? Tha 2nd verse aight, too… My Rating: 2.4

10. “Freestyle 2”
>>> Anotha jacked beat… This iz betta, and it at least doesn’t have a boring hook from another song… Good rhymes; nice and consistent! My Rating: 4.1

11. “Sunrize” Feat. Money Bagz & C Nyle
>>> This sounds much betta as far as tha production! LOL @ tha “Bad Azz Entertainment Money Bagz,” here. I didn’t realize at first ‘cause his name ain’t spaced in tha ID… Anyway, startin’ it off wit tha 1st verse: It’s Money Bagz, comin’ through wit some good shit ta rap off this kinda beat! Sounded like a random appearance from C Nyle toward tha end of tha 1st verse, too? Interesting… Oh, I see, it was tha beginning of tha hook… Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, and it sounds good, too… So far, I think this tha best song off this CD… How ‘bout an Earl outro? Guess not… My Rating: 4.5

12. “Street” Feat. T Dog
>>> Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and it sounds great! I like how you mention, “Don’t trust no nigga,” or somethin’, from those that claim to be “real.” It’s like, at tha moment, I know a few that are treatin’ me fake. Like, goin’ online and postin’ their asses off, but not even answerin’ me. Yea, like that’s real! Also, nice beat you’re rappin’ off of, here! This random rapper on tha 2nd verse sounds like he’s so focused in fuckin’, here, than talkin’ about tha streetz? I actually am feelin’ tha rhymes, but sounds a lil’ too before this dude’s time… ROFL @ bein’ obsessed wit “money.” Izn’t “money” equivalent to a dude? LOL… Nice job on tha 3rd verse, too… And, Earl, three seconds before this ended, what happened to tha mic? Either way, good outro. My Rating: 4.2

13. “God Is Good” Feat. C Nyle
>>> Not really feelin’ tha Mack Morrison “Return Of The Mack” sample, here, in tha background; kinda soft? Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and at least you comin’ through wit tha real rhymes, once again. Kinda sounds like tha same rhymes from tha 1st song… After all those consistent rhymes, it’s time fa C Nyle on tha 2nd verse… Good rhymes; can’t complain. Pimp C on tha outro, here… Not sure why he’s considered a ‘feature.’ I gon take him out. Kinda random fa this… My Rating: 4.2

14. “Freestyle 3”
>>> ROFL @ knowin’ so many people; how, at such a young age? Good rhymes from you on tha 1st verse; sounds like randomness to me, though. Why would your dad wanna just not be there for you? How fucked up; people fuck too soon!! Random outro; sounds like Earl got aroused from a line, lol… Didn’t even realize there were features, here… My Rating: 4.4

15. “So Tired” Feat. Twinn U & Jay Knox
>>> Sounds like a boring ending; not really into this singing on tha hook, and quiet beat… Oh, I see what we got here: A title mix-up. This one’s actually “So Tired”, not “Freestyle 3”. Either way, this tha ending track? I’m not sure, but it sounds like an ending song. We got Twinn U on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some okay rhymes. Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse… I remember those dayz where I wrote rappers letters, lol. My Rating: 3.4

Overall: I thought this was pretty nice. Only two doozies and one decent one for me, but tha rest of tha CD was pretty good!

Review #1,334: Mr. Marcelo "Return Of The Big Homie"

Reviewed on 10.30.2013 (Review #1,334)

Next up, anotha N.O. supastar—well, more undagroundstar, IMO: Mr. Marcelo Return Of The Big Homie, with Jet Life Recordings! Start Time: 12:57 PM | End Time: 1:38 PM

01. “Intro”
>>> Beat sounds good, here, and you comin’ through wit some shit ta ride through—yea, through tha hood. My Rating: 4.1

02. “Scarface”
>>> This sounds good. Because of tha title, I thought it was gon sound more darker on tha beat, but I’m feelin’ how you comin’ through wit tha rhymes fa tha hood… “Always,” Marcelo! “Always!” My Rating: 3.8

03. “Bossed Up” Feat. Monsta Beatz
Got some Beatz on tha feature, here… >>> Catchy hook and beat, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and you really “blowin’,” here, lol… Tha 2nd verse iz good, here, and I don’t mind all tha “money” shit, for some reason… My Rating: 3.9

04. “Police”
>>> “Slot machines” suck and have bad odds! That’s why, it’s all about Blackjack or Roulette! Catchy beat, and tha hook (wit dat voice) ain’t too bad… Good rhymes durin’ tha 1st verse, here; I think this iz catchy… Tha 2nd verse iz nice, too; always a paranoid Marcelo. :( My Rating: 4.3

05. “Writing’s On Da Wall” Feat. Fiend
>>> Great start wit tha beat, and Fiend kickin’ off tha 1st verse! Tha hook sounds good, too, strictly stayin’ motivated… Tha 2nd verse sounds good from you, too; it’s all about readin’ tha “writing” that’s “on tha wall.” I guess tha real title’s “Writing’s On Da Wall”? That’s what DatPiff says, but tha back cover says, “Written In The Wall”? Yuck @ tha 15 seconds of silence at tha end… My Rating: 4.3

06. “Joyride”
>>> Nice beat, and tha verses sound good, here. Glad you keepin’ it hood at all times! My Rating: 4.0

07. “2nd To None”
>>> Not anotha “Backstabbers” song… At least it’s just a beat sample and a “what they do” part. Tha verse ain’t too bad, here, and tha singer on tha hook’s not bad, but not listed… My Rating: 3.6

½time: So far, so good. Sounds like every joint sounds good and consistent! A 4-star CD, currently!

08. “Fly With Us” Feat. Curren$y
>>> Tha beat’s decent, here, but I’m likin’ tha coughin’ in tha beginning… Not bad wit tha rhymes, here, and Curren$y comes through wit some consistent rhymes. My Rating: 3.8

09. “JetLife General”
This one came up as #08 on tha DatPiff tracklisting, but I’m goin’ wit tha cover and makin’ this #09… >>> Beat’s aight; rhymes are good… Short and sweet, at least. My Rating: 3.7

10. “Celebration” Feat. Skip & B3
>>> Sounds okay, once again. These beats are startin’ ta be decent for me, and not standin’ out… Tha 1st verse’s good wit tha rhymes; let’s see how it continues… Skip on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit some good rhymes. Let’s see what gon remain wit B3 for the 3—verse, that iz, lol! Okay, much betta ta hear a voice like this, right now! Sounds like a big bodyguard, ready ta be resistant to P.A.N.z! My Rating: 3.9

11. “Cruise Control” Feat. Corner Boy P
>>> Beat sounds jazzy, here; nice ta rap on! Good job wit tha 1st verse, here… Damn, tha back cover ain’t list Corner Boy P on tha feature? Good thing for this DatPiff tracklisting… Seems like a really-good “smell” in tha “car” during tha 2nd verse; I feel dat! My Rating: 4.2

12. “Roll Weed” Feat. Dee Low
I know of Beelow, so who this Dee Low dude iz? Tha DatPiff tracklisting says he goes by “The Diamond Man”? >>> Beat sounds regular; nothin’ special, but tha rhymes are aight, here, on tha 1st verse… LOL @ tha 2nd verse, which iz a descriptive introduction to this “Mary [Keyshia] Jane” girl… Catchy verse! My Rating: 3.8

13. “Friends With Benefits”
>>> Now, we get some coughin’? Sounds okay for tha start, here… Really just wantin’ tha “benefits,” here, on tha hook… Hearin’ tha verses, and this iz okay, overall… My Rating: 3.5

14. “Crazy World” Feat. Jason Lyric & Jerkaman
Nice collab ta end this off? >>> Beat sounds nice, here, on a slightly-dark tip… Tha 1st verse sounds good, stayin’ “fly.” Singin’s aight on tha hook… Got tha lyrical Lyric on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some good rhymes; not bad… Jerkaman on tha 3rd verse (DatPiff has them in tha correct order, while they’re in tha wrong order on tha back cover). This sounds pretty good, too; nice job wit tha collab! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Nice lil’ CD, overall; this qualifies as a good CD fa me, so nice job, Celo!
