Review #1,664: Disturbed Young Hustlaz "Homies N My Head"

Reviewed on 2.28.2017 (Review #1,664)

Disturbed Young Hustlaz Homies N My Head iz my next review, released in 1998 on G-Money Records & was produced by Infamous! Gotta congratulate myself this month ‘cause I reviewed at least one CD a day, this whole entire month! That hasn’t happened since nine Februarys ago, back in February 2008! Neva thought I woulda had enough time to re-create tha history! Happy 34th day in a row of reviewin’ a CD, too!! Start Time: 7:32 PM | End Time: 8:35 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

06. “Blow It Up”
>>> Sounds nice, here; dope hook wit tha blowin’! “Blow it, light it! Blow it, light it!” Definitely dope! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds like y’all holdin’ down this semi-No Limit sound, here! Funny ‘cause y’all just said, “We ‘bout it, ‘bout it,” just like tha song! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ decent, as well… And, tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, here, as we keep it movin’… My Rating: 4.2

07. “Guerilla Pimpin’”

Wonder where he got it from? And, a 3rd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice… My Rating: 3.7

10. “Nothing To Lose”
>>> Sounds like a better beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ like some good, undaground, upbeat rap, here… Sounds like a nice hook, here, as y’all keep tha motivation up! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ dope to continue, as well… And, we got tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice, as well… My Rating: 3.8

11. “Keep It On Tha Lokee”

12. “Born Alone, Die Alone”
>>> A slower beat, here… Sounds like a sad-type song? I can feel tha hook, here, as far as all tha loneliness, sadly… Even tho I still struggle with loneliness, at least I can hang out err-day! With that bein’ said, tha 1st verse sounds decent, here… Anotha verse, here, keepin’ it movin’… Kinda feels like some of these tracks are kinda long, but tha eerieness in tha beats keep my interest up, a lil’… And, one final verse, here, soundin’ decent… My Rating: 3.5

Endin’ it with a self-titled track? >>> Sounds nice wit this sound and 1st verse, here! “Seafood gumbo;” mmm! Which kinda “gumbo” will I be enjoyin’, next month? We’ll see!! And, y’all keepin’ it movin’ wit tha rest of this, too! Somethin’ special in tha beat’s vibe, here, sounds nice ta hear… My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Tha 1st ¼ of this CD was pretty dope and then, it became more on a decent/above-average level… I also think some of these jointz were a lil’ too long, too… Either way, I thought this was a dope release!

½time: A 4.2-rated CD, so far; pretty dope! No complaints, yet! Just that “Potent” south at its finest, here, fa tha ‘90s undaground!

08. “10 Rulz” feat. Capone
>>> Dope-ass sounds in tha beginning wit a nice lil’ bass!! Really long intro, here (1:26), but it’s definitely worth it! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and y’all settin’ tha “rulz” down, here! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse and as slow as it iz, we keepin’ it movin’, here… And, tha rest of this pretty nice… I’ono if 6:26 iz too long fa this, but it iz what it iz, I guess? >>> Luvin’ tha eerie beat, here! Luvin’ tha hook, too, wit this “mo Potent than marijuana” hook, here!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and I’m luvin’ what y’all spittin’, here, fa dem undaground Gz! I like how y’all referenced “Madonna,” too, my favorite artist… And, we got tha 2nd verse, here, keepin’ tha “fiya” comin’ along! And, tha 3rd verse’s here, keepin’ shit movin’! My Rating: 4.5

12. “Rolling Wit Da Chrome” feat. Boom, D.O. & Shipe
>>> Sounds good, here, wit tha laidback hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, here, wit what y’all comin’ through with… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha “-age”-rhymed rhymes, here, soundin’ nice on tha 2nd verse… Wow, y’all were only makin’ “$4.75 an hour,”  back then? 14. “Swarm Of Bs”

Good shit comin’ outta tha 1st verse, here; gotta dig it! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and y’all keepin’ it movin’, here; good shit… And, sneakin’ in a 3rd verse before this ends, here; dope! My Rating: 4.1

15. “Make ‘Em Swell (Original)” feat. B-Loc
>>> Still sounds dope wit this beat… Interestin’ how tha remix came before tha original, on this CD… Somethin’ sounds betta in tha voices and tha vibe, here, but I gon keep tha same rating… My Rating: 4.3

Overall: Most of tha tracks were on tha longer side, here, but that ain’t stop tha quality of this album! Good shit fa tha laidback shmokers, tha southern heads & tha Gz! Glad y’all know how to keep it “Potent!”
