Review #1,623: Queen D "Bow To Tha Queen"

Reviewed on 2.03.2017 (Review #1,623)

Hopin’ right back into tha old CD reviewz with my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon, right chea! We got Queen D Bow To Tha Queen, up next, released in 1997 on Red Rum Records… Start Time: 2:30 AM | End Time: 2:54 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Intro”
>>> A decent beat to open this CD up with… Hearin’ tha verse and it kinda a cool, rap-sung flow, but that’s really about it… My Rating: 3.8

02. “Funk Da Fied”
>>> Almost sounds a lil’ faster but this has a bounce vibe to it, tho more of a jammin’, ‘90s throwback feel to it; nice hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t bad wit what you’re spittin’… Tha 2nd verse pretty short, here; decent… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s a “ward” representation, here; nice… An uncredited dude on tha 4th verse, here? Sounds like a nice bonus fa this track… “Runnin’ from tha po-pos…;” lol, right after bein’ “funk da fied!” My Rating: 3.9

03. “Buck Wiling”
>>> Beat has a lil’ more of a street, Louisiana undaground feel to it, which sounds betta… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s soundin’ nice; a lil’ more of a laidback street vibe than a “wiling” out one, which iz interesting… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ decent, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it a lil’ random wit some of these lyrics? My Rating: 3.7

04. “My Man Too”
>>> For tha men, here; decent hook and beat goin’ on, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ decent… Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ catchy, wit some random “rodeo” lyrics, here… My Rating: 3.5

½time: A decent CD with nothin’ really too-too special… A 3.7-rated CD, here; let’s keep it movin’…

05. “Drive By Shooter”
>>> I’ono if this kinda gangsta shit goes over well witchu… Beat ain’t too bad; flow’s nice, but really different-soundin’ song, here, with tha content/female/bounce vibes mixin’ together? Rappin’s just decent but it’s betta than nothin’ from you, here, on tha 1st verse… A male rapper on tha hook, here; wonder who it iz? Kinda like a Partners-N-Crime-type dude? Hearin’ them on tha 2nd verse, here, spittin’ a nice lil’ bounce vibe, here… My Rating: 3.6

06. “Bow To Tha Queen”
>>> Dry lil’ bouncin’ beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s not bad… Tha hook’s kinda dry wit tha chant in tha background… I’ono, it’s still good, tho… Ehh, whateva wit tha rest of this…; so cheesy wit that “queen” shit toward tha end! My Rating: 3.2

07. “Outro”
>>> Decent, here; quiet, dry rappin’, here? I guess this a lil’ softer/different fa an “Outro”, here… I’ll rate it, since I consider it a track… My Rating: 3.0

08. “My Man Too (Radio)”
See #4 fa tha review!

Overall: This was decent; nothin’ special… Still, it’s always nice to have rappers out there, especially from back in tha day!
