Review #1,657: C-Loc Presents Concentration Camp "Camp II: Da Halocaust"

Reviewed on 2.21.2017 (Review #1,657)

Barely had a chance to sleep since tha previous review, but I shall continue!! Here’s my review for C-Loc Presents Concentration Camp Camp II: Da Halocaust, released in 1998 on C-Loc Records & was produced by C-Loc, himself! Start Time: 1:53 AM | End Time: 2:51 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Lay-Lo, C-Loc & Young Bleed “Sickess”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ undaground beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Max and it’s pretty nice… We got Loc on tha 2nd verse, here, and it’s pretty nice, as well… Definitely diggin’ how he got a remake goin’ on wit tha “nowhere to hold up…” shit; dope!! We got tha 3rd verse, here, and Bleed soundin’ pretty nice ta contribute to tha track… And, a 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse, as well, wit Loc soundin’ dope ta continue this… My Rating: 4.3

02. C-Loc & Max Minelli “What’s Love”
My Current Rating: 4.2

03. Young Bleed & Lucky Knuckles “Comin’ Down”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ track… Lol @ tha “y’all can suck on my niggy-niggy-nuts!” Also, Bleed comin’ through, “blowin’ on dat doe-doe!” Tha hook’s pretty nice and chill, as well, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Mr. Knuckles and it’s nice ta hear… Bleed on tha 3rd verse, here, and it’s pretty dope, as well… My Rating: 4.1

04. C-Loc, Laboe, Master P & Silkk The Shocker “Where The Playas At”
>>> Sounds good wit this No Limit style, on tha beat… Hearin’ Loc on tha 1st verse and it sounds like a nice lil’ undaground tale, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds like a nice lil’ laidback track… Tha 2nd verse’s pretty nice, here, even wit a Master P “ugh!” toward tha end of it! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 3rd verse, here, almost soundin’ like him? Why no credit, smh? Shit’s always confusing! My Rating: 4.2

05. Max Minelli, Young Bleed & C-Loc “Outside My Life”
>>> Anotha nice lil’ laidback track, here… Max on tha 1st verse and he spittin’ some nice shit, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice, as well, ta go wit tha track… Young Bleed on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit dat southern gumbo, of course! Of course, we have Loc comin’ through wit dat heat on tha 3rd verse… My Rating: 4.0

06. C-Loc, Boo The Boss Playa & Young Bleed “Still In All”
>>> Anotha laidback track, here… Hearin’ Loc on tha 1st verse and it decent; can’t deny it… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds like a nice lil’ singin’ hook, overall… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Boo and it’s anotha nice lil’ verse fulla rhymes… And, we got Bleed on tha 3rd verse, here, havin’ a nice lil’ addition to this… Just hearin’ this makes me anticipate my debut to Louisiana trip, comin’ up! I’m hopin’ to bring everyone together! My Rating: 3.9

07. Growl Nitti & J-Von “Grind”
>>> Diggin’ this “grind”-type track fa this laidback vibe… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, holdin’ tha undaground down… And, we keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice wit this real-life shit… It’s kinda like my best friend, who deals wit some of this shit. I try and lift him up as much as I can, since my brother died. I feel like I don’t want history to repeat twice, so me bein’ tha celeb, I can help my boy out! A 3rd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice ta continue this track… My Rating: 4.1

08. Young Bleed “A Fool (Original)”
Let’s see, here… >>> I luv how tha title has to throw me off, smh! I know this sounds really familiar… I swear, people remade this shit or somethin’? Either way, regardless, beat’s dope, tha hook’s catchy and Bleed’s doin’ tha damn thang on tha 1st verse… Oh yeah, “How You Do That”; that’s tha title. My bad, it’s been a minute wit err-thang… No wonder why I put “(Original)” in tha ID, here, since this a full-on Bleed version! He keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ nice and undaground… He hit gold/platinum status way before Gates—almost two decades! Tha first one in BR to do it! Gotta give props to Bleed! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 3rd verse, as well; can’t deny it! My Rating: 4.3

½time: A dope lil’ compilation from tha Concentration, here, lol! A 4.1-rated CD; gotta luv all y’all!

09. C-Loc, Lay-Lo & Lucky Knuckles “Cabbage Savage”
Looks like a dope title, here! >>> Loc comin’ through on tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ nice… A 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ dope, too… “Pass tha microphone like we used to pass tha weed;” likin’ that line, even tho “used to?” Gotta be present, right? Tha hook sounds pretty dope! Almost thought it was Young Bleed on tha hook; sounds like him! Definitely a dope-soundin’ hook/voice, tho! We keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, as it’s a hustla’s quest to get his hustle up! Definitely nice! As we continue with more of tha 2nd verse, here, we got Loc, doin’ a nice job… Even more wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ nice ta hear… My Rating: 4.3

10. Max Minelli, Lee Tyme & C-Loc “Nothin’ To Lose”
>>> More of a laidback vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Max and it’s pretty nice, here… I’m likin’ how it sounds a lil’ faster wit tha flow, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it ain’t bad, here… Keepin’ it movin’ wit Lee on tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ decent… Loc, you’re on tha 3rd verse, here, keepin’ it movin’ like a consistent boss… My Rating: 4.1

11. Lamorris “Didn’t Mean To Do It”
>>> Gon be a singin’ track with 5:07 on tha length? This prolly gon drag… I have to say, I do like tha slow, laidback vibe in tha middle of nowhere, tho… Yeah, there’s no point in me even havin’ much ta say, here… My Rating: 3.2

12. Lay-Lo & C-Loc “Dog-Ass Hoes”
>>> A plain beat, here, with Max soundin’ decent on tha 1st verse, here… J-Von also soundin’ pretty nice, contributin’ a group effort… Tha hook sounds really plain? Iz it…? Nothin’ much goin’ on but a random voice? Now, here we are with tha 2nd verse, soundin’ decent, once again… Almost thought I was gonna hear Loc, but here it iz, an official hook! Saved tha hook fa last, huh? Pretty dope hook, tho… My Rating: 3.4

13. Goldie & Boo The Boss Playa “Solitaire”
>>> A decent beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s a lil’ more upbeat than some of tha previous tracks on here… I’m likin’ how tha beat has its own intense moments, in some of tha sounds (if you can hear tha “dinn-dinn, dinn-dinn”)! Tha hook sounds pretty plain, calm & random, tho? Tha 2nd verse iz a lil’ laidback-soundin’, here… This startin’ ta sound a lil’ boring fa me, as it’s a lil’ too plain-soundin’… My Rating: 3.5

14. C-Loc, Growl Nitti, J-Von & Silkk The Shocker “Candy & Cream”
Looks like a familiar title…? >>> Loc on tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, here… Tha beat’s not bad, as well, as it keeps this shit movin’… “Knowin’ one day, they gon find you in a ditch.” That’s true ‘cause I was in one just two dayz ago! Fuckin’ 60 degrees out and I was stuck in a snow ditch, in between two houses, smh! Anyway, keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse and it’s decent, here… It’s almost like most of these verses on this CD sound similar with not much spark in ‘em… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice; diggin’ tha title part… You already know it’s all about tha “cream!” Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s soundin’ nice from Mr. Von, deliverin’ dat aggression! My Rating: 3.8

15. Lucky Knuckles & C-Loc “When Times Get Rough”
>>> Sounds like a decent beat with a decent 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds nice… It’s almost like my broski lookin’ up ta me “when times get rough,” here… Hearin’ Loc on tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, too… Tha rest of this shit sounds pretty nice; gotta luv what y’all bring! Nice lil’ shmokin’ at tha end? My Rating: 4.0

16. Lay-Lo, C-Loc & Young Bleed “Sickess (Radio)”
See #1 fa tha review!

Overall: I thought this was a nice lil’ compilation disc. Some tracks sound like they sound a lil’ plain but for tha most part, err-body’s quality rappers, here…
