Review #1,647: Big Tymers "How You Luv That"

Reviewed on 2.12.2017 (Review #1,647)

Here comes my next review! I have tha sequel as my review after this one, so we’ll see how these go! Big Tymers How You Luv That, released in 1998 on Cash Money Records & was produced by Mannie Fresh, himself! For those that don’t know, even tho it a no-brainer, Big Tymers are Baby (Birdman) & Mannie Fresh! Start Time: 1:40 AM | End Time: 2:50 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Big Tymers (Intro)” feat. Bulletproof & Lil’ Wayne
>>> Sounds good wit this beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope… It almost sounds like Wayne makin’ random appearances wit tha “left side…” shit… My Rating: 4.0

02. “Playboy (Don’t Hate Me)” feat. Lil’ Wayne & Bun B
>>> Sounds dope wit Wayne on tha 1st verse, here, ova this Cash Money-like beat… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds like what made err-body cool, from tha south, here, wit how Wayne sounds! Gotta luv it! Hearin’ Bun B on tha 2nd verse and he doin’ tha damn thang fa this track, here…! Baby on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit them ‘undefeatable’ rhymes, and tha ‘undefeatable’ means tha celebrity status! My Rating: 4.3

03. “Stun’n”
>>> Sounds like a more-positive vibe, as far as how this beat sounds? Hearin’ Fresh on tha 1st verse and he sound good, even rockin’ tha “Girbauds,” too…! Hearin’ tha hook from Baby and it sounds nice ta stunn, here… Hearin’ Baby on tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ good ta hear, as well… Keepin’ it movin’ wit Fresh on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ like a catchy verse, too… Endin’ it wit a Baby outro, here, all about tha “drinking,” here…! My Rating: 4.1

04. “Tear It Up” feat. B.G. & Lil’ Wayne
>>> Decent lil’ beat, here, as B. Gizzle spits some nice shit on tha 1st verse, here, fa dem baby gangstaz! Splittin’ it up wit Wayne on tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ nice… “Make ‘em sick like a bad cold;” nice, Wayne! Fresh holdin’ down a catchy hook, here, wit how this sounds as a club banga, here…! “Bad-ass, mad-ass,” here, on tha 2nd verse from Fresh; dope shit…! Still rockin’ his “Girbauds,” just a few songs later! My Rating: 4.2

05. Phone Call
>>> Lol, “naked pictures” style on tha skit, here… My Rating: N/A

06. “How U Luv That” feat. Lil’ Wayne & Juvenile
>>> A decent, but somewhat-dry beat, here… Hearin’ Fresh on tha 1st verse and it sounds decent… Catchy lil’ simple hook from Wayne, here, soundin’ decent… Keepin’ it movin’ wit Baby on tha 2nd verse, here, doin’ a decent job fa dem “alligator pillow cases,” here, ya dig, lol?! Nice job stayin’ fresh, Birdman! An uncredited Juve on tha 3rd verse, here? Sounds nice ta hear, here… My Rating: 4.0

07. “Cutlass, Monte Carlos & Regals” feat. Lil’ Wayne & Juvenile
>>> Anotha decent-soundin’ beat, here… Hearin’ Fresh on tha 1st verse and it sounds okay, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds a lil’ catchy wit them car names…; good shit… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice from Wayne, showin’ off in a teenage way, lol…! Keepin’ it movin’ wit Baby on tha 3rd verse, here, showin’ off in a celebrity-like way… And, a 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse from Juve, here, showin’ off, as well! My Rating: 4.1

08. “Millionaire Dream” feat. Lil’ Wayne & Cadillac
>>> Sounds like a catchy track, a lil’… Decent beat wit Wayne rappin’ on tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ aight… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s soundin’ decent fa this “millionaire dream,” here… An unknown feature on tha 2nd verse, here? Almost thought it was VL Mike… Baby? Either way, whoeva it iz (Cadillac), it sounds decent wit how they’re holdin’ it down, here… Lol @ how Weezy says, “Bling!” Sound effects that later became fuckin’ “bling bling!” Now, we got Baby on tha 3rd verse, here, continuously on his mission… Got a 4th verse from Fresh, here, continuously rhymin’ tha beginning of tha verse and then, it’s more of a random set of words/themes? My Rating: 3.8

½time: Soundin’ pretty nice and consistent, here, as far as a Cash Money vibe, here… A 4.1-rated CD; let’s keep it movin’!

09. “Beautiful”
>>> This has more of a West Coast vibe to it, here, soundin’ decent… Hearin’ tha beginning/hook and it sounds sassy, I guess? Fresh on tha 1st verse, here (I consider it tha 1st verse, not 2nd, right?) and it’s decent, here… Kinda sounds like it’s draggin’, as far as tha rest goes… I’ono, but not every single song gotta be at least four minutes long! My Rating: 3.2

10. “Ballin’” feat. Bun B
>>> Decent start, so far, as far as tha beat and Baby’s 1st verse goes… I’ono about this hook, tho; just a computer voice? Anyway, Fresh comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, showin’ off in a balla’s way, here… Even got Mr. B on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ betta than y’all on this wit his consistent rhymin’, here… My Rating: 3.5

11. “Top Of Tha Line Nigga” feat. Lil’ Wayne
>>> Got Wayne doin’ tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ decent/good… Tha beat pretty catchy, here, wit tha keys, too… Hearin’ tha hook from y’all and y’all got this on lock, here; good shit… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Baby and it’s pretty nice, as well… Y’all joinin’ in and it’s soundin’ nice fa tha contributions, here… My Rating: 3.6

12. “Suga & Pac, Puff & Big (6 Fig)” feat. B.G. & Lil’ Wayne
>>> A lil’ jammin’, here, soundin’ nice ta hear… B-Gizzle on tha 1st verse, here, doin’ him; sounds good… Got tha hook, here, and it sounds nice… A mysterious, uncredited voice on tha hook, here? Wayne? Either way, pretty catchy… We got Baby on tha 2nd verse, I know that… He sounds decent; what else iz new, sometimes? Tha rest of this ain’t bad… It almost sounds random when I hear things named, at times? Tha flow, I mean… My Rating: 4.2
EDIT: Actually, I somehow missed rating this and had to rate it a day later!!!

13. Preppy Pimp
>>> In tha mist of err-thang, here comes a lil’ interlude/skit, soundin’ nice fa tha bed! I actually witnessed seein’ some bed action, yesterday, wit a lesbian in tha house, too! Crazy! Gotta luv it, sometimes! My Rating: N/A

14. “Broads”
>>> Sounds decent, even tho I ain’t expect a laidback-soundin’ beat… Hearin’ how y’all comin’ through wit tha hook and it’s decent, here, but ya gotta feel tha “broads,” sometimes… Fresh comin’ through wit some decent shit on tha 1st verse, here… Got Baby on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit nearly tha same vibe as how Fresh came wit tha 1st verse… My Rating: 3.4

15. “Try’n 2 Make A Million” feat. Juvenile
>>> Sounds decent, here, wit Juve on tha 1st verse on this beat… Hearin’ tha hook from Juve and it sounds pretty catchy, here, wit how he delivers it… “Whooo…” Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Baby and he rockin’ tha “Girbauds,” this time; good shit! Hearin’ tha hook again and it sounds even betta wit how Juve has a catchier, more-Jamaican-like voice? Definitely feelin’ it! Fresh on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit some decent shit—decent… My Rating: 3.9

16. “Drivin’ ‘Em” feat. Larell & Lil’ Wayne
>>> Fresh on tha 1st verse, here, and he’s holdin’ it down on this beat… Baby on tha hook, here, soundin’ good… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha Baby-rapped 2nd verse, here, soundin’ nice… That Larell dude’s on tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse, here, reppin’ fa dem Gz, of course…! Here comes Wayne on tha 3rd part of tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ like a real gangsta, here, like, a real young one, lol… Definitely feelin’ this Wayne, of course! My Rating: 4.0

17. Outro
>>> Decent lil’ beat ta end this off… Lol, Fresh, they really “passin’ out jointz?” That’s a bonus, right?!

Overall: Seemed like a great 1st ½, but a decent 2nd ½? Split it up but it turned out to be betta than usual, overall… Only 4.3 was my highest rating?
