Review #1,126: Tim Thugga & Beezy Bird "The Best In The Business Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 1.19.2012 (Review #1,126)

Got my final review for today (it’s only 10:24 AM, right now) ‘cause I got an interview to do, beats I have to produce for my college’s news segment, a meeting I have to go to (to fight a grade), a quiz I have to study for, and a class. But, lemme get into this: Tim Thugga & Beezy Bird The Best In The Business Vol. 1 (Hosted by Go DJ Chilly Chill). Been anticipatin’ this! Even though it doesn’t say “Vol. 1” on tha front cover, I know it iz. Plus, izn’t this wit tha label Real Street Music? I’m basin’ that off of tha promo disc’s front cover… But, it’s Janis Joplin (R.I.P. 42 years)’s birthday today, so any insecure feelings I get from this review, I’m not gonna hold back on lettin’ ‘em out! Start Time: 10:31 AM | End Time: 11:40 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro Feat. DJ 5150, Big Jay & FrankieThaLuckyDog
What a lineup, especially me bein’ in tha 1st of 17 on tha CD!! I feel honored, but wasn’t there ‘pose to be a back cover? *Checks* I see it as a hard copy in Tim Thugga’s pics, but not online? Oh well, I’ll just use what y’all put on DatPiff for tha tracklist. Once again, my name iz all one word, no spaces. >>> Nice beat goin’ on; didn’t expect one… DJ 5150’s first; no comment on most of what he said, except for “Tim Thugga & Beezy Bird.” Big Jay sounds good wit his part, here. Ooh, I like how I sound; Beezy Bird told me ta put tha “okay!!!” Nice shit for how I sound, even though it’s a lil’ hard ta hear me, but it’s great; “ruff!!” R.I.P. Cookie (“ruff”)! I have to say, one of tha best intros in a long time!! My Rating: N/A

02. “Bounce” Feat. Kevin F
Let’s hear it! >>> I never heard Tim Thugga’s Mixtape Vol. 1, or whateva it was, but let’s see what’s goin’ on afta this intro… Good hook goin’ on wit this beat, wit a lil’ bit of Beezy Bird on tha hook! Tha 1st verse iz Tim Thugga, and it sounds good wit what he bringin’; gotta luv what he does!! BTW, I’m gonna need some non-DJ, non-mixed versions of these songs if y’all want ‘em on my radio show! We got Beezy Bird on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit good shit, although a lil’ ‘automatic’ wit how automatically, “hoes” can “fuck” him, easily. Time for some Kevin F on tha 3rd verse… Wow, what a turn off in tha beginning; on Level’s dick? Not feelin’ tha beginning flow, but it turns out to be okay, but still, very ‘automatic’ soundin’… Speakin’ of which, thanks for “The Addams Family” part, F; good mention for my 42 (lol, again, I said that age) aunt! My Rating: 4.3

03. “Stuntin’” Feat. Foxx
Just Foxx on tha ID, not “Foxx A Mill”… >>> Sounds hot wit tha hook and beat; crazy Tim Thugga voice goin’ on, here!!! See, it’s about fuckin’ time somebody has some energy in their voice, after all them regularly-rapped shit I reviewed, previously!! Definitely feelin’ this one a whole lot, so far, and I’m only about a minute it!! Beezy Bird’s comin’ through on tha 1st verse, reppin’ fa “G-Lane.” Too bad for me, “G-Lane” was a 2009 thing only; that’ll always be its peak year, and due to people not showin’ loyalty, tha year’ll prolly neva re-capture tha success of gay-ass ’09! Oh well, it’s neva my fault! Glad Beezy mentioned, “I’m tha one they samplin’;” correct! He be goin’, “bow, bow,” on tha beat’s backgrounds! Bro-Bro didn’t understand, but I gon tell him, “You need to listen to tha interview I did wit DJ B-Real, where I talked about it, or else I won’t send you your awards!” Foxx’s on tha 2nd verse, and it sounds pretty nice; I remember those recording sessions on YouTube, which I featured in tha October 1, 2011 show I did, where I interviewed y’all! Time fa my big dawg, Tim Thugga, on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit one of tha best, most-entertainin’ flows, right now; can’t resist it!! Tim Thugga wraps you up in his raps, lol; continuous, non-stop shit!! Wit 54 seconds left, what’s left? Oh, Janis Joplin, please distract me from tha ending! *Skips ending* My Rating: 4.8

04. “You Ain’t Shyt”
A solo from Tim Thugga, lol? Sounds random for this collaboration CD… >>> Sounds good; almost sounds like it follows up tha previous joint wit tha hook. Gotta give props to Tim fa doin’ his thang wit this great voice. Huh, he said, “Free my nigga Lil’ One The Champ”? Why does he like jail (for not bein’ alert to get in there), so wh—how you know him, Tim? Everyone’s on tha same level, ya feel me? No offense wit any of this; I don’t get why it’s so hard to get a hard copy of somethin’, when I was promised! But, for a quick song, you did ya thang, Tim Thugga!! You really be holdin’ your rhymes down, at all times!! My Rating: 4.4

05. “Speak The Real” Feat. Vic Boi
Anotha Tim Thugga solo, featurin’ this Vic Boi dude… >>> It sounds like an okay track, but iz great wit your voice all ova it; really reppin’ for tha streetz, once again! Glad you speakin’ “tha real” to ‘em, right here! Kinda long on tha length for this mixtape, and a solo song, but I’ll deal wit it… I guess this iz Vic Boi on tha 3rd verse? Don’t know too much about this dude, but I have to say that he sounds like Quick; I’ll give this props… I like how Tim Thugga says, “let’s delete it;” I know how to delete, and I’m deletin’ those that didn’t thank me for my 2010 awards in three dayz, which’ll mark a year since I sent ‘em out. My Rating: 4.3

06. “Hard” Feat. Lil’ Boxx & Hannibal
Looks like a combo… >>> *Automatically mumbles words to not understand tha intro* I’m definitely likin’ this beat; good shit goin’ on here wit tha Tim Thugga hook! Beezy Bird’s reppin’ pretty nice on tha 1st verse; gotta feel how he bringin’ that tight shit to a track dat goes “hard!” Got Lil’ Boxx on tha 2nd verse; glad you know him and collaborated wit him! Definitely some tight-ass shit, here; Lil’ Boxx’s always consistent wit his energy and rhymin’!! Time fa tha 3rd verse; what’ll it be…? Tim Thugga, as he comes through wit some tight rhymes ova this tight beat! Didn’t think he’d come through wit a verse, but he did; I thought there was gonna be a long outro or somethin’… Keep it goin’, Tim; keep it goin’, Tim!! Will there be a 4th verse? Yea—oh wait, time ta lick up some… heroin vomit!!! Mmm, like Meital says, “tasty and yummy,” huh?! Yea, I’d rather lick tha vomit! Damn, got too distracted to even think; guess that’s what happens when things are incomplete? I think so! My Rating: 4.5

07. “Grind For”
Let’s see what y’all “grind for”… >>> What’s up wit tha tags in tha beginning, includin’ tha beat tag? Seems like everyone wants to have a beat tag… Good job wit tha hook; great, consistent music at its finest!! Even down to tha 1st verse from Tim Thugga; tha consistency iz tha same, and I can’t deny any shit goin’ on, here! Gotta keep stayin’ on ya “grind!” Beezy Bird’s on tha 2nd verse, and his voice adds tha extra spice to what could originally be a solo Tim Thugga joint! Glad to hear a whole CD from Beezy, finally!! My Rating: 4.4

08. “Gutta Bitch” Feat. ADORE
Capital letters? What’s this gon be like? >>> Not sure about tha intro; hope y’all can pull off this smooth shit! Prevent y’allselves from makin’ this sound soft… Tim Thugga’s on tha 1st verse and it’s good wit tha voice; “they some characters, girl.” I have to say, I agree wit Tim, even though he’s his own “character,” wit how great he comes through on tha tracks, not like everyone else’s boring, stale voices… Tha hook ain’t too bad; thank God there’s no a-tune ‘cause I would’ve skipped this, if so! Got Beezy Bird on tha 2nd verse, and I have to say, these are some entertainin’ rhymes; nice job! Can’t deny what Beezy brings to tha table! A lil’ bit of a 3rd verse from ADORE; good for my gurl Alexia, I guess? Not too bad, overall… My Rating: 3.9

½time: I made it to tha ½ mark, so far, and y’all are at a nice, 4.4 for tha CD rating, currently!!!!

09. “Check Out My” Feat. BluBlack
Wow, did I jynx it? I said, “A walking nipple slip…,” before I saw tha ID/heard tha track, and I guess I’m right! >>> Who’s “C Real”? Sounds like a watered-down version of a 225-soundin’ beat, but it’s not bad; I’m sayin’ what I’m sayin’ ‘cause it sounds like a mainstream-soundin’ beat… Either way, I like tha hook, as it’s nice and repetitive! Got Beezy Bird on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some shit to “check out”; gotta feel him! Thumbs up fa tha consistency!! As for tha 2nd verse, it’s dat boy Tim Thugga!! Doesn’t exactly sound like him (since I thought it was someone else on tha hook); really feelin’ tha voice and attitude!! Nice job, Tim!! Got tha 3rd verse up next, and—oh wait, tha hot Amy Schumer’s poppin’ up in my head? What, “tha most pissed off winners of 2011”? “A walking nipple slip waitin’ ta happen”? “Cookoo for Coco… Puffs, or whatever”? Amy Schumer to tha rescue!!! Yea, I like them quotes! Wish I could see some 40 Winningest Winners of 2011 on VH1, again; hope she’ll host tha 2012 ones, too, if they even have it! Yea, tell ‘em: “And her ass later…;” good job, girl! Oh wait, what happened? Guess I didn’t get ta review tha 3rd verse; oh well, guess an acknowledgement’ll boost my priorities! Thank God I’m 23, turnin’ 24 now!! Gonna be possibly drivin’ to New York all by myself in three dayz! I think my family has faith in me, now, especially since they see me carin’ more about me, rather than random people that don’t respect what I do/are not loyal! I gon keep bein’ a bad-azz and keep bein’ self-absorbed!! My Rating: 4.4

10. “Showin’ Off”
Let’s see this; I know there was somethin’ about this online, I think… >>> C Real must be doin’ this beat, too, since I heard a beat tag. Damn, I hope people retire them beat tags fa 2012; gettin’ annoyin’ and they’re hella insecure. It’s like, what happened to surprises? As for this song, I like this beat slightly better, and tha hook’s pretty nice!! Good job wit Tim Thugga on tha 1st verse; nice shout out ta “Lil’ Boxx.” Keep your “flash out” attitude, Tim; it’s all about showin’ tha fake what’s real!! For me, I rather be quiet; I can “flash out” in my own house, but not to people, to where I get arrested. Let’s see what we got for tha 2nd verse… Beezy Bird’s comin’ through wit some anti-“fake” rhymes; you know we all can’t stand them unloyal people! It’s like, how can you be unloyal? How can you be negative?!? My Rating: 4.3

11. “Lookin’ For Me” Feat. Carterboy
Carter Boy from Da Gremlins? Y’all have tha name as a compound word (“Carterboy”), so are they different? Lemme hear… >>> Feelin’ tha production, whether it’s original or not! It works greatly for y’all, especially Tim Thugga! Good shit wit tha hook; time ta locate tha Thugga, lol! Didn’t expect this song ta be almost five minutes long, but I’ll deal wit it… Good shit, once again, from Tim, on tha 1st verse; that voice iz undeniable when it comes ta this consistent shit!!! LOL, Tim Thugga on tha 2nd verse, again? Can’t be; iz it dat Carter Boy dude? Whateva this iz, it sounds like they’re affiliated wit y’all… If this iz Carter, then no, this ain’t tha same one from MVP Entertainment; no wonder why his name’s a compound word. Yea, I heard him say his name toward tha end of tha verse… Some Beezy Bird on tha 3rd verse, here, also becomin’ a target! Now, it’s a mission ta locate tha Bird, lol! Good job wit tha tight/consistent shit you bringin’ to tha table, Beezy; gotta feel it! My Rating: 4.3

12. “Go Hard” Feat. Sims & S.O.S.
ROFL, what happened to tha “Or Go Home” in tha title? Funny, especially since it’s 1.5x longer than tha video version! For me, this a classic-soundin’ song; definitely caught my attention on a 1st listen!! Y’all a great team, between To Tha Dirt Records + New Go Get It Music = Real Street Music! Beezy does a real nice job wit tha hook; it’s almost like you’ll be dyin’ ta kick it wit him, and do some tight business/songs wit him! Gotta give props ta Tim Thugga, too, wit tha 2nd verse; he everything “in this game!” Let’s see what this last 1:57 iz… ROFL, an unsourced, random appearance from Sims, here! Why’d you guys leave him outta tha DatPiff ID? There’s nothin’ wrong wit him; he ain’t no “walking nipple slip,” even though I neva got access to send him his 2009 awards… Sounds like S.O.S. on tha 4th verse, but I dunno who’s on tha 2nd ½ of tha 4th verse? S.O.S., can you please give Obeeze his 2009 awards, already?! Sounds like someone. Unfortunately, I can’t put anyone in tha ID of tha 2nd ½ of tha 4th verse, due to I can’t tell their voice. But, I rather it just end wit Sims…; should I consider this a remix? My Rating: 4.5

13. “Fast Train” Feat. STREETz
Who’s this feature and why are they in caps? >>> A good start, so far… Tha 1st verse ain’t bad; I feel like I’m likin’ this hook a lil’ betta! Really feelin’ tha whole vibe of this “fast train,” ya feel me? This Streetz dude’s on tha 2nd verse; good job wit tha collaboration, teamin’ up wit tha Bird and tha Thugga! Time ta have a Beezy Bird “bulletproof” dinner, for tha 3rd verse, lol! He’d “pull [his] whole dick out and piss on you?!” Damn, what an attackin’ bird!!! What do we got for this 4th verse? Iz it Tim—no, it’s not!! My 30-year-old cousin just died last month (last serious death in tha family since December 1, 2004); I rather think about him than hear tha ending!! My Rating: 4.3

14. “Gun Speak” Feat. Yungmoney Slim & Tweezy
Let’s see what dis ‘bout… >>> Wow, pretty crazy wit Beezy Bird and his “gun” talk!! Tha 23rd’ll mark four years since I had a 9mm to me; glad I’ve neva seen a gun since! Crazy shit from Beezy, here, but I kinda can’t say anything about Young Maniac, on tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse, ‘cause he owes me an acknowledgement. Sorry, this iz no offense; you gotta fix what you caused! Wonder who this Tweezy dude iz on tha 2nd verse? Not bad; I can deal wit it… Ooh, tha crazy-ass Tim Thugga on tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse!! When was tha last time y’all had, or seen a “gun”? Iz it really daily? Glad that for me, it’s been every four years, so far (since 2004 was tha previous time before ’08)! My Rating: 4.6

15. “Shit On You”
Gotta hear it! >>> Sounds good; what else can I say? Beezy Bird’s comin’ through wit tha hook, throwin’ some “shit on [y’all],” lol! Really likin’ dat hook, especially all tha shittin’!! Beezy’s also comin’ through on tha 1st verse, wit his great character and how he holds it down for tha streetz!! Damn, I hope I get unmixed, unDJ’d versions of these songs so I can get ‘em on tha air!! Got Tim Thugga on tha 2nd verse, and this iz pretty tight wit how he sounds wit tha beat! Givin’ a thumbs up ta tha Thugga, once again; almost sounds like his “shit” sounds like a splattin’ gun! My Rating: 4.5

16. “Swagg” Feat. Carterboy, Jigg-Three & Tweezy
Not really into tha title, but let’s see what happens wit all tha people. >>> Oh no, a beat tag hidden in tha beginning… Damn, 6:25 on tha length? Hope it holds up! Well, despite tha title, Tim Thugga sounds nice on tha hook! Must be Carterboy on tha 1st verse? Even strapped up? Wonder what age he learned to have a gun; by tha way, I’m a virgin wit guns, since I neva touched one (and prolly neva will)! Now call that somethin’ different when people say, “not pill music!” Do we got Tim Thugga on tha 2nd verse? Yup, comin’ through wit some tight shit, here; he don’t stop wit dis shit!! Got tha 3rd verse from Tweezy? Shouldn’t he be above Jigg-Three? Okay wit tha verse, here; not much ta say… Okay, I’m a lil’ confused; Beezy Bird’s on tha 4th verse, comin’ through wit a nice vibe, once again. Oh, here’s Jigg-Three (I think), on tha 2nd ½ of tha 4th verse, and it sounds off-beat, but tha consistency ain’t too bad… My Rating: 4.2

17. “Haters”
Just Tim Thugga? Gotta hear it! >>> Damn, endin’ it wit an old, Young Jeezy, always-used beat…? I’m likin’ tha rhymes; decent on this beat… My Rating: 3.8

Overall: Nice job wit tha mixtape! I feel honored to be a part of it, especially #1 on tha whole thang!!! Definitely a nice job collaboratin’ wit each other; gotta ride dis one ‘til tha wheels fall off!!

01. “The Rap Derek Lewis”
>>> LOL @ tha short ‘host’ intro… Sounds a touch catchy wit how you’re comin’ wit this song… Once again, you sound like Jay Regal, in a family way, wit tha voice… Oh, only one verse, here? Good job wit tha outro/radio talk, at tha end; you say this a “promo disc”? Sounds more like a mixtape, for me; “free Bear”? SMH @ jail!! My Rating: 3.8

02. “I Just Wanna Rip”
>>> At least this mixtape has mixin’ in it… Rhymes sound pretty good; longer outro than song, lol? Kinda funny, but it’s always good ta hear some details. My Rating: 3.6

03. “A.C.T.”
Ironically, I’m studyin’ “ACT” framework for class, currently; let’s see what you got, here. >>> Of course, it ain’t tha framework, and more on what anyone can talk about. Oh, even though it’s an acronym, it’s more of a word, wit an acronym spellin’: “Watch me act a ass wit it;” I see… Sounds good, wit how everything sounds together; a “Q Black” production, accordin’ to you. Prolly could’ve added some more energy wit a song like dis… My Rating: 3.9

04. “Good Nite” (J.A.P.A.N.)
You already know. My Current Rating: 4.2

05. “Pose 4 Tha Mirror”
>>> Time fa an anthem for those “ladies” dat gon “pose 4 tha mirror”? Let’s see… Thought it was gonna be a lil’ soft, but it’s a good/okay song, overall; not bad wit tha hook… Rhymes also go wit tha hook; nothin’ bad ‘bout dis… My Rating: 3.8

06. Friday (Skit)
>>> LOL, didn’t expect a skit on this mixtape, for some reason (I guess since tha previous ones I reviewed didn’t have any); nice job wit this “garbage” (and I don’t mean negatively)! My Rating: N/A

07. “Up N Here”
>>> Sounds like an anticipatin’, Beat Flippa meets Nu$$ie-type beat, here; lookin’ forward! Kinda took a while wit tha beginning, but this sounds good. Still, might need more energy in tha voice!! Good job wit this club shit; I have ta feel it better than usual songs! My Rating: 4.2

08. “Ham N Dis Bytch” Feat. Dino & Bear
>>> Almost five minutes long, but let’s see what I can get outta this… Nice beginning rhymes; anotha hot club/good anthem. Even though there should be more energy in tha voice, this sounds good/shit I can tolerate… I don’t mind anyone’s rhymes, here; Dino’s on tha 3rd verse, so shouldn’t he be behind Bear on tha ID? My Rating: 4.1

½time: Above average, for me; 3.9 for tha current CD rating…

09. “Keep Smokin’” Feat. Jack (of Down Bad) & Pada
>>> A.K.A. Jack Da Rippa; I thought that’s who I heard in tha beginning… I was gonna say, at least it’s an attempt for a better feature than other CDs I previously reviewed, but most people are tha same wit their buzzes and shit. I like how Jack says, “Dat last gram I had? Psst, sold it!” You already know it’s ‘bout dis smokin’ shit! Was kinda worried ‘bout tha 7:12 length, but it ain’t bad. LOL @ when it says, “Man, I’m loaded in dis bitch,” ‘round 3:40, it sounds like I can hear pasting (wit hearin’ a sound effect before tha repeatin’). But yea, definitely a jam; you know dat Jack actually has more character and energy when he raps/sings! My Rating: 4.3

10. “On My Mind”
>>> Now, a shorter song; good transition, and it sounds like a song ta make you feel good ‘bout yourself. My Rating: 4.0

11. “Murda Man (Freestyle)”
>>> ROFL, I thought that first few seconds was my voice! It’s ironic ‘cause we’re textin’ right now! But, not a skit, but a freestyle, and it’s pretty gutta; from jail? Where this comin’ from? Good shit; oh, from “tha computer”? My Rating: 4.3

12. “Love In The Studio”
>>> WTF iz this long, pop/boy band vocals shit? Took way too long for me to hear your verse; not much interest for me… My Rating: 1.5

13. “Super Sick” Feat. Neno Tha Don
>>> Now, no beat, but it sounds good in tha beginning… Now, I’m hearin’ tha beat and lyrics; it’s more on tha ‘typical’, 2010s music structure, for me, so I can’t feel this too much. Really, only tha acapella freestyle caught my attention, in tha beginning. I also have to comment your “polo,” too, since dat shit’s nice. My Rating: 2.7

14. “From A Distance”
>>> At least this ain’t no long-ass, boring-ass song; it’s decent and short, tha way a mixtape track should be. Well, I dunno about tha beat, but this ain’t terrible, for me; at least you keepin’ tha rhymes goin’… My Rating: 3.2

15. “The Best”
>>> I don’t think I gon go for this; 4:31 on tha length, no less… Sounds a lil’ for a teenager, for me, wit tha lyrics; ironic for someone that’s older than me… I rather hear some X-rated rhymes, instead. My Rating: 1.6

16. “Spot Light”
>>> Not a good ending for me, wit this “throw up”/’I-sit-in-tha-house-everyday-dwellin’-on-makin’-a-friendship year of 2005 (“Down And Out” beat). Barely any interest, but now, you finally have better/consistent rhymes? Not too powerful of a mix, for me, unfortunately. My Rating: 2.9

Overall: Ehh, it was better in tha beginning, but took a nose-dive toward tha end; not every rapper can create this so-called ‘diversified’ Louisiana music.

Rankings:

15. “Love In The Studio” 1.5
14. “The Best” 1.6
13. “Super Sick” Feat. Neno Tha Don 2.7

Review #1,124: J.A.P.A.N. "Gucci Musik (Good Music)"

Reviewed on 1.18.2012 (Review #1,124)

Got my 9th review for today and it’s anotha Jungle Records release: J.A.P.A.N. Gucci Musik (Good Music); how will it go? Start Time: 11:58 PM | End Time: 12:29 AM

01. “P.A. Niggaz”
Let’s hear it! >>> Sounds like a tight anthem fa Port Allen, despite it bein’ a Vybe beat! Really likin’ that tha title’s in tha song, frequently; definitely grabbin’ tha listener by tha ear, for Port Allen!! My Rating: 4.3

02. “Thuggin’ & Lovin’ It” Feat. Dude Blitz & Dee Dee
>>> Must be tha same singer from tha “cook” song, from tha Jay Bin Laden CD? Sounds catchy, this time, wit tha hook! Good job wit tha verses, too; kinda feels like a musical glance at Port Allen, at its finest! My Rating: 4.1

03. “Good Nite”
Now, it’s not a compound word; produced by Young Jack, as I previously heard! My Current Rating: 4.2

04. “Lay ‘Em Down”
A solo from Regal… Oh yea, I recognize this title; tha “9millie” song, lol. My Current Rating: 3.7

05. “Deuces Freestyle”
Solo from M.A., here. >>> I hear M.A.’s mixtape title, The Rap Derek Lewis, in tha intro; guess I gon hear this tomorrow, when I review M.A.’s solo mixtape? Either way, “Deuces” beat or not, this ain’t too bad; M.A. seems ta have nearly tha same voice as Jay Regal, these dayz… Rhymes are barely passin’ tha ‘aight’ mark fa me, here, but more on tha boring side, overall… Also, since it’s a “freestyle”, it shouldn’t be tha same length as tha original! My Rating: 3.1

06. “Deez Streets” Feat. 20
Wonder who this 20 dude iz… >>> Really think y’all “die in deez streets”? :( Hope not; can’t even think about death!! Still, I’m feelin’ these “streets”-type rhymes; keep this shit up! My Rating: 3.9

07. “Murder Rate”
>>> This iz a ‘repeat’ beat for me (Vybe); played a song who made their own song off of this, back in ’09, so I already had a main song off this beat, which makes my interest real low… For this, I’m likin’ tha ‘gun’ rhymes, once again; I really like how y’all paint a picture of your streets. M.A. on tha 2nd verse? Catchy flow; I’ll give it credit, includin’ tha nice rhymes. My Rating: 3.5

08. “Paper Chase” Feat. Redd
>>> Because it’s a Vybe beat, this iz okay, overall; glad it’s a ‘mission’-type song! I like tha “lunch line” line; all about them memories! Redd does a nice job wit his contributions, too; gotta feel how he comin’ through, on tha track! My Rating: 3.6

½time: A 3.8-rated CD, currently.

09. “Get It Girl”
>>> Really would like to hear original beats; this iz decent, but nothin’ I’d really pay attention to… My Rating: 3.0

10. “Game Tight”
Production from Drako? >>> Sounds remakey…; luckily, it ain’t too bad, and tackles a good subject, since it’s all about tha “real.” Whether this iz remakey or not, I’m likin’ it, and think it’s a nice production. Rhymes are soundin’ good, of course, I can dig it… My Rating: 4.0

11. “Fuck U Pay Me” (Tune Feat. J.A.P.A.N.)
Not sure what you mean by “tune” in tha ID… New production from Biggs, here… >>> Sounds like a quiet version of “Wipe Me Down”, a lil’; not bad… Oh wait, do you mean Tune Feat. J.A.P.A.N. for tha ID ‘cause it’s actually y’all CD? Okay, I hear, and I’m correct; my bad for tha confusion. I have to say, this sounds like a nice, underground, underground song for tha underground, lol. My Rating: 3.8

12. “Livin’ My Life” Feat. S.B.R. Boy
Speakin’ of S.B.R. Boy, what happened to his Facebook? Ducked off? >>> Beginning sounds okay; thought I’d hear a lil’ more tightness from S.B.R., but it’s all good, still. Kinda long on tha length, but I dunno what ta say…; you already know dat you guys hold it down for tha streetz. My Rating: 3.6

13. “D’Boys”
Lil’ Wubb on tha beat; I remember this. However, when hearin’ tha beginning, right now, “Raw Ha Records”? “Hood Official Vol. 1;” fa real? I remember that CD gettin’ pushed back/cancelled ‘cause I didn’t even have an editing program, at tha time, lol; weird dedication! My Current Rating: 4.2

14. “Street Shit” Feat. Dino
>>> Nothin’ really special wit tha sound and how this sounds wit tha 1st verse… Damn @ Jay Regal for takin’ “a baby;” crazy! Ooh, Dino has a good voice fa this; nice job, too! My Rating: 3.2

15. “Fashion Show” Feat. Dino
Anotha production from Drako, here… >>> Nothin’ really special between tha beat and what’s goin’ on wit tha song… For some reason, tha features seem to be catchin’ my attention more; good job, Dino, endin’ this off. My Rating: 2.9

16. “Leave Me Lonely” Feat. Redd & Tut
>>> Wow, weak beat start for J.A.P.A.N.! :( Now, tha rhymes are soundin’ betta, smh? Rhymes are okay, but they’re, like, non-Louisiana for me, wit this sound. M.A. sounds good wit his shit, here, so I’ll give him some credit… My Rating: 2.5

17. “I Ain’t Fuckin’ Wit Cha” Feat. Pada & Bear
>>> Catchy for an ending song; not bad… Likin’ tha 1st verse wit tha flow, voice, and shit goin’ on, here… Tha 2nd verse iz nice, too; looks like tha features help, once again! My Rating: 3.8

Overall: Ehh, could’ve been a lil’ betta, but I guess tha original beats’ll come soon…

Rankings:

17.       “Leave Me Lonely” Feat. Redd & Tut 2.5
16.       “Fashion Show” Feat. Dino 2.9

Review #1,123: Jay Regal "Jay Bin Laden"

Reviewed on 1.18.2012 (Review #1,123)

Already up to my 8th review today? That doesn’t seem typical, but I guess I seem motivated ‘cause I’m mad!! It’s Jay Regal Jay Bin Laden, uh-uh-uh-oh, lol! Still wit Jungle Records, but this ain’t a Raw Ha release (that’s how long it’s been since I have heard a Jay Regal CD). Start Time: 8:46 PM | End Time: 9:23 PM

01. “Curtain Call”
>>> I think this iz a good-soundin’ intro track; nice rhymes, within your perspective… My Rating: 4.0

02. “Shotgun” Feat. Pada
>>> Hook and beat sounds good ta hear; good shit fa tha streetz… I’m likin’ your street-type rhymes, here, when it comes ta how you handle your “shotgun,” ya feel me? Pada’s on tha 2nd verse and he sounds a lil’ like a white dude, wit how he sounds; okay, but not much energy goin’ on in tha flow… My Rating: 3.7

03. “Goodnite”
Or, not as a compound word (“Good Nite”); let’s hear this J.A.P.A.N. single… >>> This sounds like single material; sounds like one of y’all’s doin’ tha damn thang on tha hook! I think it’s M.A. on tha hook? Nearly tha same voice, but whateva, this iz hot… Tha 1st verse iz good; it’s all about not carin’ about others, which iz what I’m now developin’! Yea, here you are on tha 2nd verse, Regal; you know what it iz…/I don’t need ta say much… My Rating: 4.2

04. “Lay ‘Em Down”
>>> Anotha “gun” anthem; you can pull it off, unlike others. Speakin’ of a “9millie,” I had one to me four years ago, on January 23, as a “joke,” smh! Good, catchy verses fa your streetz, here. My Rating: 3.7

05. “Break It Down” Feat. Dude Blitz & DeeDee
>>> Wasn’t expectin’, or anticipatin’ tha singin’, but if this iz about cuttin’ “work,” then I’ll let it slide… LOL, you “count a lotta 100’s,” huh? How consistent are you wit it? Hope you can do some of my services, soon… What’s up wit these random kids in tha background? Soundin’ a lil’ too much… Dude Blitz sounds not bad on tha 2nd verse; glad he’s makin’ an appearance, at least… My Rating: 3.8

06. “What You Mean I Ain’t Gangsta”
Different spellin’, this time… Sorry, but this iz complete novelty, bad luck music for me, now; R.I.P. 2009, forever! My Current Rating: 4.3

07. “Chicks In The Living Room” Feat. Dino
I don’t remember Dino’s name all capitalized… >>> Nas sample in tha hook; sounds a lil’ catchy, as it repeats, so I don’t mind too much… Good shit from you in tha 1st verse; keep this shit goin’, Regal. Dino sounds nice on tha 2nd verse, too… My Rating: 4.2

08. “Caked Up” Feat. M.A.
>>> Not tha kids in tha background, again! What iz this “best kept secret” shit? :confused Thumbs up fa tha “puff and ride slow music,” Regal. Tha beat’s soundin’ a lil’ borin’, here and there, but it’s not too bad for a song, overall…; tha hook sounds regular, too. Let’s see M.A.—oh wait, that’s you on tha 2nd verse? I guess I was too in-tune ta what I sayin’, and figured dat he would be on tha 2nd verse or somethin’. Either way, good job wit your “caked up” lyrics, J. My Rating: 3.7

½time: Good CD, it seems like, although I feel more in a decent mode; 4.0 for tha CD rating, currently!

09. “Clickhouse” Feat. Redd & Pada
>>> Sounds catchy wit this “and, I’ma break it off” shit repeatin’ in tha hook, includin’ tha “clickhouse” shit. I’m likin’ tha shit you’re spittin’ in tha 1st verse, Regal; nice job wit tha representin’… Hearin’ this 2nd verse, and it’s okay, for a more-unknown rapper… My Rating: 3.9

10. “Psycho”
>>> An intro skit goin’ on, here… After 1:21, tha hook’s finally here, and it sounds good, except for a need of energy… If you really went “psycho” wit how your voice would sound on here, that would be awesome! But, for this, it’s okay; thought I’d hear more than one verse, but it’s cool… “Drag queen killa, I be dressed up as them hoes be;” whoa! My Rating: 3.5

11. “Holding”
>>> More short music, which sounds good. Sounds like you’re “holding” a crown or somethin’, based off your status, here; not bad… My Rating: 3.6

12. “Say My Name Right”
>>> Sounds like a catchy song; who doesn’t know how ta pronounce “Jay Regal,” right? Catchiness, includin’ some decent rhymes… My Rating: 3.7

13. “Just Waitin’” Feat. Lil’ Wubb
He dropped tha “Lil’”? Prolly not… Too bad he didn’t have a passion for me, since he only made one outgoin’ call ta me, back on July 18, 2009, when I didn’t have service? Thank God I ain’t that passionate about phone calls, anymore! >>> Must be Wubb in tha beginning; okay… Not really anything catchy comin’ outta tha hook, unfortunately; let’s see what you got ta offer on tha 2nd verse… It’s okay; I don’t really have anything to really say about it. My Rating: 3.4

14. “Louder”
>>> Sounds okay; I don’t really have anything ta say ‘bout this one, too… Well, I’ll say that I like when it says, “louder,” lol! My Rating: 3.8

15. “Syrupee Flow”
>>> I dunno how I can handle this different style wit tha beginning beat; lemme hear what you got wit tha verses… Okay, nice “high” anthem; I’ll give it some credit… My Rating: 3.7

16. “D-Boys”
Tha 2nd single from J.A.P.A.N.; lemme hear it… >>> Yea, this sounds catchy; betta than most of tha shit on here, so far… You know it’s catchy when you say, “D-Boys! D-Boys,” ya feel me? Yup, “got hard, got soft, got blunts;” Jay Regal, tha man!! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too; good, catchy ‘single’! My Rating: 4.2

17. “Make ‘Em Mad”
>>> Damn, tha kids are in tha background, again! :td This sounds like a decent joint; what’s up wit all tha decent music? I thought you had consistent, tight music? Guess it’s time for Raw Ha Records to bring you back? My Rating: 3.6

Overall: Ehh, it was a lil’ above average, but not tha shit I was used to, back in ’09…

Review #1,122: Young Wee-zo "Talk Now (Promo Disc)"

Reviewed on 1.18.2012 (Review #1,122)

Got a Millionaire Entertainment artist I ‘bout ta review next: Young Wee-zo Talk Now (Promo Disc). There’s a DVD that came wit this, too, which I’ll try and get to before tha month ends. I purchased this, along wit a few other things, from Millionaire Entertainment’s website! Start Time: 7:37 PM | End Time: 8:16 PM

01. Intro
I’m really lookin’ forward to hearin’ this whole mixtape—or, it could be considered a ‘promo disc’, too—from you, Wee-zo! >>> Didn’t think that was you, at first, but it iz; I’ll consider it “The Mixtape” ‘cause that’s what it says on tha front cover. Either way, still anticipated!! My Rating: N/A

02. “Cuttin’ Up”
Just you on tha joint? Holdin’ dis bitch down!! >>> I can tell this iz a La’Keith-soundin’ beat; really luvin’ tha sound effects in tha beat!!! You really reppin’, here; expectin’ orders, lol! Definitely luvin’ what you spittin’, here. ROFL @ how you said, “french fries;” it sounded like, “french fri—,” ‘cause your breath was rappin’ pretty fast, lol! You know tha hook’s official! “I be cuttin’ up;” like, crazy!!! Tha 2nd verse sounds nice; you “keep” quite a bit! You do get to cut “up” on my level, ever? LOL, keepin’ this shit goin’ as much as possible, durin’ tha 2nd verse!!! “Hit ya like a baseball;” damn, where do you come up wit dis shit, Weezo, lol? My Rating: 4.7

03. “Memory”
You may say, “Memories”, but I go by tha video: “Memory” as tha title! You’ve prolly seen me review this before; you know what it iz! My Current Rating: 4.4

04. “Pills (Remix)” Feat. Dutch, Young Ready & Sam I Am
LOL, tha dude from Millionaire Ent. dat sent me tha tracklist didn’t put “remix” on tha ID, here? I thought it was gonna be tha original version, fa a second, lol! Kinda wonderin’ what this gon sound like, remix style…? >>> Oh, a lil’ bit of a different beat intro, lol; definitely likin’ that it ain’t 100% tha original beat!! Almost sounds more remastered than remixed, at first. New verse from you on tha 1st verse, Wee-zo; sounds good, as usual, but I think you sounded better on tha original version, especially wit all tha “___ on dem pills” lines. Okay, let’s see this Young Ready verse… Ehh, ehh, ehh; wish he would take me more serious. Kinda entertainin’ wit tha rhymes, but he would have to take me serious…, finally, for me to like this more. LOL, Sam I Am on tha 3rd verse; you already know what it iz! Now that he’s in a newer realm (30s), it still sounds like he was a decade ago; tightness neva ends fa him!! Guess tha whole time, Dutch was considered a feature for tha hook? I neva put him as a feature ‘cause of him neva listed as a feature; I mainly considered it just a sample from “Boi Boi”, but props for puttin’ him in tha ID! My Rating: 4.6

05. “Murda Shit” Feat. Troy Da Triggaman & Dutch
LOL @ this. Radio-edited it, which there were, prolly, close ta 200 words edited outta this joint, but I got it on tha air! To me, it’s a classic! My Current Rating: 4.6

06. “I’m Da Shit”
Keepin’ tha classics comin’… Would’ve originally been like, “What’s this 2010 stuff doin’ on here?” But then again, this tha 1st time I’m hearin’ a Wee-zo full length CD/mixtape! Fulla classic lines: “I’m da shit; jump on my dick, jump on my dick, jump on my dick,” lol! My Current Rating: 4.7

07. Interlude
Gotta hear my big dawg, Wee-zo, on an interlude!! >>> Okay, maybe I should consider this tha “Promo Disc”, since tha actual Talk Now (The Mixtape)’s comin’ this month? My Rating: N/A

½time: Gotta say, there’s absolutely nothin’ wrong wit dis, right here!!! Can’t deny it; it’s Young Wee-zo, ya heard me?!? A 4.6-rated CD, currently up for a five-star review!!!!!!

08. “AWOL” Feat. Dirty Dane
Wasn’t too familiar wit what tha title meant, but now, I realize it’s a.k.a. ‘ducked off’, lol. Who iz Dirty Dane? Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this new joint! This tha 2nd one I neva heard off this mixtape, so far!!! >>> I can hear some hot La’Keith sound effects in tha beginning!! Oh, this iz tha follow-up word ta “duffy” and all dat, lol? Really feelin’ it; pure music for my ears, at its finest!!! Definitely some addictiveness goin’ on, here, wit this beat; oh, can’t get “AWOL” from it, lol!! Feelin’ what you bringin’ on tha 1st verse; gotta luv how a radio editor has ta be supa patient ta edit your music, Wee-zo, lol! Tha thing iz: if I luv it, I’ll sit at my desk for about 30 minutes and edit tha song (when a typical song would take 15 minutes to edit)! Time ta hear this Dirty Dane dude… Glad it’s a dude, and it sounds pretty serious, Millionaire Entertainment style!! Good shit for tha streetz ta where you move so much, feelin’ “AWOL,” lol! My Rating: 4.8

09. “I Bang”
LOL, still hearin’ songs I already heard; I think this last one… My Current Rating: 4.4

10. “Pills” Feat. Dutch
Damn, why’d I open my mouth before? My Current Rating: 4.8

11. “Money”
I don’t like tha title; hope I get some from you (meanin’, do one of my services) soon! >>> Different kinda start wit a rock sound in tha beginning… WTF, what’s this jacked beat shit?! Are we in 2006 or some shit? I know this iz from my 1st college dayz (September 2006 – May 2008)… Rhymes are not bad in tha 1st verse; my interest kinda dropped, but I’ll try ta keep it up… Tha 2nd verse iz soundin’ like it could be a good, underground sound, too. Either way, my interest iz at tha lowest for this CD, so far. My Rating: 3.6

12. “What U Wan Do” (Troy Da Triggaman)
Damn, my big dawg, Troy Da Triggaman, on tha song, just by himself?!? Definitely got sooooooooooooooooooooooo much luv fa him, of course! Who else’s DVDs would I sit around hours and hours for to review? Hope I get ta talk ta him soon, especially since my radio show might be endin’, soon; wanna interview him! >>> Switchin’ up to an EQ beat? How random, but it still has dat good vibe like La’Keith! Sounds like a tight anthem, as always; can’t play around wit my boy, Troy Da Triggaman!! “My middle finga in tha air, nigga, fuck you!” Gotta tell ‘em like dat!! Sounds like a good ballin’-type song, strictly holdin’ it down fa tha streetz, at all times!!! Thank God for a second verse from Troy; gotta keep hearin’ him!!! He gon stay alive fa eva and eva and eva and eva!!!!! Sounds like a bunch of cliché and random rhymes goin’ on in tha 2nd verse, but you can’t deny it ‘cause it’s dat big dawg, Troy Da Triggaman!! My Rating: 4.6

13. Interlude (Dutch)
Ooh, an interlude from dat boy Dutch! >>> Tell me, it’s “Boi Boi”, or then again, he said, “D-So called me,” so it’s somethin’ new? My Rating: N/A

14. “So-Called Niggas” (Dutch)
Ahhhhh!!!!! My Current Rating: 4.4

15. Outro
Damn, seemed so fast! Let’s hear it, Wee-zo!! >>> Glad you’re “followin’ me on Twitter;” you know what it iz! Props for this contact info; you already know! My Rating: N/A

Overall: Luved it, of course; lookin’ forward to hearin’ tha actual mixtape!!!

Review #1,121: Thug Brothers "Paid In Full (The Mixtape) (Hosted by DJ Chill)"

Reviewed on 1.18.2012 (Review #1,121)

Comin’ up next, I got a review from Thug Brothers (Gangsta, Deezie & DCO), who I recently found out that they were originally wit Certified Entertainment. Now, they’re with Carleone Gang Entertainment, releasin’ this new mixtape, Paid In Full (The Mixtape) (Hosted by DJ Chill); hope it turns out good! Start Time: 5:48 PM | End Time: 6:19 PM

01. “Get From Round”
I heard someone checked this CD out and after this song talked about “blood” shit a few times, they deleted tha CD; hope this ain’t on some weird-ass shit, now!! >>> I have to say, tha hook sounds pretty hot and funny, wit tha “fuck round, from—fuck round, from—fuck round this bitch” line, lol! So far, no blood shit, but tha rhymes are pretty good, for tha streetz, here. LOL, I heard tha “blood” shit on tha 2nd verse; iz this ‘cause y’all wearin’ red, everywhere? Hope y’all not comin’ out tha blood closet, or somethin’… Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, for me; this iz more entertainin’ than anything, fa me. My Rating: 4.5

02. “Dumb On This Track”
>>> Sounds like Mouse in tha beginning, or somethin’? What tha, tha 1st verse dude said, “I’m goin’ dumb on this track: Nu$$ie”? No wonder why tha one dude deleted this shit. Either way, not really into this ‘drinking’ shit, but at least tha production’s nice, which serves its purpose, I guess? More “blood” shit on tha 3rd verse… My Rating: 4.2

03. “Liquor”
>>> Sounds a touch funny, wit this voice; an okay song, which kinda follows from tha previous joint. I liked tha previous song betta, since it had more energy, but this iz still good… Sounds like a gay 2nd verse, due to tha 2000s/2010s generation-type rhymes, smh. But, tha rhymes sped up like crazy… Either way, tha 3rd verse only okay, too… My Rating: 4.0

04. “Choppa”
Short length; that breaks thangz up, a lil’… >>> Beat’s pretty good, here, and tha content’s pretty gutta… My Rating: 3.9

05. “Make It”
>>> Why won’t you just always be “local,” mainly? I don’t see why people wanna “make it” so huge? This an okay song, overall; I like some of tha drug shit, in here… My Rating: 4.1

06. “Keep It Gangsta”
>>> Sounds like Quick, includin’ his flow and shit; not bad, since it sounds like it fits wit Bad Azz Entertainment’s style. Rhymes and content’s aight, here; catchiness throughout tha hook wit tha spelling, includin’ tha hot beat… My Rating: 4.2

07. “Shoot Out”
>>> Wouldn’t picture a title like dis bein’ a song, but it iz… “Shoot Out”? Why iz it called “Shout Out”? I’m fixin’ tha ID! This sounds like it’s on some good quality, gangsta-type shit; I’ll give it an acception… My Rating: 4.0

08. “Don’t Play Wit Me” Feat. Ville Boyz
Time fa a double dose of groups! >>> Good vibe; really likin’ tha vibe, wit lots goin’ on, here… Definitely a nice combo fulla groups; it’s all about a jam than somethin’ to pay attention to. My Rating: 4.1

09. “Pull Out”
>>> What’s this R&B shit doin’ on here? :confused My Rating: 3.1

½time: A 4.0-rated CD, currently! Pretty good and consistent ‘til tha R&B came toward tha near-end of tha 1st ½…

10. “Beast”
>>> Glad there’s a really short song on here, even though it’s still on an R&B tip… I have to say, I like tha X-rated rhymes, at least; it doesn’t sound so poppy, after all. My Rating: 3.4

11. “Ghetto”
>>> Glad this iz really short, too, and it sounds better. A lil’ mainstream vibe wit tha beat, but tha rhymes are not bad… My Rating: 3.8

12. “Guns”
Yes, anotha short one. >>> A-Tune? How you have a hard title like “guns” when you got tha weakest element for rap music on tha vocals? Such a bullshit mix!! *Skips* My Rating: 1.0

13. “Good Times”
>>> Sounds like an okay song; nothin’ really ta say, except dat there’s some memories goin’ on wit tha content. My Rating: 3.5

14. “Free Boosie”
WTF for a title? >>> An okay song, again; content ain’t really for me, since tha label became a novelty, thanx to someone not knowin’ how to send me money, smh! My Rating: 2.7

15. “Dumb Flow”
>>> Sounds like a boring start; short song, wit not much ta say… My Rating: 3.2

16. “Neva Change”
Glad this anotha short one… >>> Anotha boring, slower start, here… Sounds good for tha hood, wit tha content; not too bad, overall… My Rating: 4.0

17. “Make It Home”
>>> Damn, a long joint? Also, a “B Money” beat tag? Sounded kinda gay ‘cause it was about four seconds long; wish people would not have beat tags!! Iz this a “money” song? Then, it ain’t for me! Hella boring wit how long this iz takin’ to progress, but tha rhymes ain’t too bad… My Rating: 3.3

18. “Mr. Watson” Feat. Mouse
>>> Why iz all that silence in tha beginning? Ugh, why iz tha quality in tha audio low? Catchy hook, although nothin’ too excitin’ for my 2012 mind… Rhymes are okay, although this seems much longer than 3:26? My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Expected much betta from tha Thug Brothers; this had okay production, consistent rhymes, but put together, it was only decent. Oh well, guess it’s time for Certified Entertainment, again?
