R.I.P. Video #36: Myrtle Gales (Gunsmoke a.k.a. Noonie's Mom)

Recorded March 24, 2015

Broadcasting from tha cemetery right by my house in Peckville, PA it's FrankieThaLuckyDog here, reporting another loss in tha Louisiana community. Myrtle Gales, tha mother of fallen rapper, Gunsmoke a.k.a. Noonie, passed away earlier on Sunday, March 22, 2015, due to complications of tha liver; she was 59 years-old.

Gales was from Plaquemine, LA. She was suggested by Molly Hardin to be added as a friend on Facebook for Frankie, back on May 7, 2011, and became friends just two dayz later. Tha Gales family mainly knows Frankie for his tribute video for her son, Cordies "Gunsmoke" Gales, who was murdered back on September 26, 2010 (link to Gunsmoke tribute video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp5M6gIkrTU).
Embed:

Gales even left a birthday post for Frankie back on June 21, 2013, showing her continuous love for Frankie's love for Gunsmoke. Gales would've celebrated her 60th birthday on August 20, 2015.

Myrtle left behind a trail of family members to keep her spirits alive, such as my boy, Shannon Gales--big ups to you, dawg! And, shout out to tha whole Gales family! I got y'all backs and always show y'all consistent luv! Hope y'all hang in there; ya boy, FrankieThaLuckyDog, got y'all backs!

Review #1,454: Bigg Nick "Hustla's State Of Mind"

Reviewed on 3.20.2015 (Review #1,454)

Here’s a review that got in my way, just now: Bigg Nick Hustla’s State Of Mind, from 2012, courtesy of Mac Soul Music. Start Time: 5:05 PM | End Time: 6:10 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2015 CD Review (Review #1,454) reviewed on 3.20.2015 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Fire”
>>> Nice beat to rap on and tha hook sounds nice with your “fire” energy… Tha 1st verse sounds good with your real-life rhymes, here… Tha 2nd verse sounds nice with tha real-life rhymes, as well, with a lil’ cockiness… SMH @ “my president iz black, he motivates me;” really? How much did he ruin in this world, already? Hate that he got re-elected, no less, but only one more year of this mess! My Rating: 4.2

02. “Grizzy” feat. Derty Red & Lil’ Cali
>>> Goin’ for a bounce-influenced beat, here… Nice hook with how you say tha title, but screw dat gay shit about “if it ain’t about money, quit wastin’ my time!” Here comes tha 1st verse from Derty Red and though at times, it sounds good fa this track, I just don’t fuck wit “money” shit… More “money”-obsessed shit with tha 2nd verse, here, from you… How does it feel to fuck “money,” Nick? God, this verse’s annoying me… Like, how many “money” references?! Even more of this shit wit Cali on tha 3rd verse…; yeah, yeah, yeah… My Rating: 3.6

03. “I Do Dis”
>>> “You think I ain’t gettin’ money;” damn, more recycled shit, it sounds like? Only like tha title repeatin’ in tha hook for tha hook, here… Tha 1st verse aight, here; basically, it’s a lack of interest for me, here, once I hear tha topic of “money,” smh. My Rating: 3.5

04. “I’m A Beast” feat. Goonie & Bro-Bro
>>> A better-soundin’, Louisiana-soundin’ beat, here… Tha hook sounds pretty nice, here; diggin’ tha club vibe… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from this Goonie dude; not really feelin’ tha Boosie voice, but most of this sounds great—well, not tha “money ain’t shit to me” shit. Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse and damn, I thought this was a club song about “tabs” and shit? Why you gotta bring up “money” and shit so many times?! This wasn’t what I grew up to! Hearin’ Bro-Bro on tha 3rd verse; sounds good to hear, with no “money” shit, luckily! My Rating: 4.0

05. “Get Away” feat. J Beezy & Red Dog
>>> Volume’s real quiet, here? Why you ain’t fix your volumes? Although an R&B vibe on tha hook, I’m likin’ this summer-soundin’ vibe. Let’s just hope it’s not ruined by “money” bullshit! Here you are on tha 1st verse and it’s okay… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from J Beezy and it’s decent fa this track… And, Red Dog on tha 3rd verse, though nothin’ really too poppin’ about tha voice, here; thought it would be more distinct… Instant ending outta nowhere? My Rating: 3.4

06. “Dolla After Dolla” feat. Lil’ B & Red Dog
>>> Stupid-soundin’ hook; why this gotta be 4:23? Don’t have to fill tha CD up!! Can’t deal with this with your “ka-ching” shit on tha 1st verse; bad start to this song… Ain’t diggin’ tha 2nd verse, too, from Lil’ B; really obsessed with “money,” smh? And, tha 3rd verse’s whateva; blah, blah, blah… This song ain’t fa me at all! I should’ve just skipped it! My Rating: 1.4

07. “Leave ‘Em Lookin’”
>>> Likin’ tha beat start with its intense feel… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds catchy. However, I dunno if I can take any of this music serious, anymore ‘cause it’s always about “money,” smh… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s—oh wait, you just said, “I’m gettin’ money;” disease?!? Fuck feedback! However, tha 2nd verse has some nice energy in tha flow from you, here… Commentin’ on tha beat again: Sounds just like tha same sound pattern as Famous Stranger’s “The YFL”… My Rating: 3.7

08. “Laid Back” feat. J Beezy
>>> Definitely a nice-soundin’ Louisiana beat with a hook about “ridin’;” hopefully, this continues ta sound nice! Okay, here’s you on tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ nice fa this anticipatin’ ride! Speakin’ of that, I can’t wait ta ride wit my boy, Lil’ Frankie, when I go to Long Island tomorrow!! You already know how we do, on dat good shit!! And, speakin’ of good, see, you didn’t have ta mention “money” on this verse, right chea; good job! Tha 2nd verse from J Beezy sounds pretty nice; can’t deny it… And, anotha verse, here, from you, on tha 3rd verse… Almost feels like it hints some bullshit, but you passed tha test. Not to mention, you swapped tha full verse for a ½ verse of J Beezy, here; nice! My Rating: 4.2

09. “Money On My Mind” feat. Goonie
>>> Although I have a feelin’ this gon suck, at least it’s only 2:28… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from that Boosie Goonie and it’s soundin’ good ova this beat… Tha volume’s 4.4 decibels lower than it should be, which makes it quiet… Hearin’ tha hook and tha beat sounds betta, but this still ain’t for me, overall; can’t tolerate that “money” shit! Here you come through on tha 2nd verse…; uh, it’s okay. My Rating: 3.5

½time: So far, an average CD, with a 3.5 for tha CD rating. Could’ve been better, if there weren’t all these bullshit “money” songs/topics…

10. “Who U Wit” feat. Red Dog & Bro-Bro
>>> Back to tha Louisiana sound, here; sounds nice “wit” your energy on tha hook. Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t bad… I dunno, but I need DJ B-Real to unblock me ‘cause I’m not really excited about anything I be reviewin’… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it sounds good from you…; diggin’ your aggression on your voice. “Half on dat liquor, half on dem jiggaz;” that’s right! Gotta have some “jiggaz” music and not dat fuck shit about “money!” And, Bro-Bro on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit some nice-soundin’ BR shit; great aggression! My Rating: 4.2

11. “Return Of The Mac” feat. BDB & Mo Stackz
>>> Yucky remake music, here; I don’t think so! Even tha beat! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse; nice energy, but this song ain’t doin’ it fa me… Yuck @ tha hook bein’ tha same hook as tha original track! Tha 2nd verse’s whateva, too; good to flow with this, I guess? Mo Stackz sounds pretty catchy with tha consistent rhymes, here, surprisingly; nice 3rd verse… Aight, I’ll be nice with this rating… My Rating: 3.0

12. “Tenderoni”
I actually know this one; ain’t know it came from this CD, first… My Current Rating: 4.2

13. “I-10” Feat. Lil’ B & Red Dog
>>> Sounds anticipatin’, especially since it’s a ridin’ song, once again! Definitely feelin’ this one, as well; nice hook! Unlike tha previous ridin’ song, this one’s got some bs “money” shit on tha 1st verse, but at least there’s some “purp” shit, I guess? Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here; it’s whateva… I think tha ID’s wrong: It says, “Lil’ B & Red Dog.” Meanwhile, I think tha word, “Feat.,” iz missing from tha ID ‘cause it sounds like you’re on tha 2nd verse? Anyway, tha 3rd verse’s soundin’ pretty nice, too… My Rating: 3.9

14. “I Go Hard” feat. Derty Red & BDB
>>> Not really into tha sample on tha hook; why are all these songs 4 ½ minutes long?? Derty Red on tha 1st verse; sounds decent… Tha 2nd verse from BDB sounds good with tha “blowin’ blunts” and shit like that…  And, tha 3rd verse from you sounds okay to hear, especially with your aggressive voice… My Rating: 2.7

15. “Hustla Fa Life” feat. Remy Ro & P.Bond
>>> Quality sounds a lil’ watered-down, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s whateva… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds good, at times, though I don’t think I gon jump for joy wit this… Tha 2nd verse from Remy Ro kinda sounds random to be on here, with this voice; I dunno… P.Bond on tha 3rd verse and although tha flow’s excellent, tha lyrics aren’t really for me; fuck this “money” shit! My Rating: 3.2

16. “Swagg Up” feat. Mo Stackz
>>> This B2K / Omarion R&B vibe ain’t for me, here; too poppy… Wow, what a horrible hook!! It sounds like I was smarter when I was 12! Tha music back then was way better!! Well, at least this only 2:35! Definitely not feelin’ your rhymes, here, with all this bullshit about “money” in, like, every line…, as far as tha topic! My Rating: 1.0

17. “Opportunist”
>>> Not feelin’ tha hook or beat; your voice sounds like it’s ready for auto-tune dick or somethin’… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and really, this joint has to be 4:11 in length? It’s not like there’s features! Boring; not diggin’ these rhymes dedicated to tha females… My Rating: 1.2

18. “Crash Dummy” (Ken Ruffin feat. Bigg Nick)
>>> Might be worth tha bonus track? Diggin’ tha beat, here, and tha 1st verse sounds nice for this kinda energy provided on this track… Ehh, it’s startin’ ta lose its touch with tha “money” bullshit—ahh, why so many times?! Nick, you need to quit braggin’ about it so many times! Ugh, annoying!! And, here comes Ken on tha 2nd verse, soundin’ pretty nice; sounds like a nice “Baton Rouge” sound, without tha “money” bullshit! And, tha 3rd verse sounds pretty nice, too… My Rating: 4.1

Overall: I believe I liked your newer CD better; this wasn’t really that on-n-poppin’ fa me… Like, too many “money” topics/songs and then, there were songs that sounded too R&B fa this CD. Also, tha songs that had that jigg vibe were just okay for me; they had somethin’ screwed up in ‘em, almost… But, hope you continue to grind…

01. “Bloody Murda”
Decky On Dha Track doin’ tha beat, here, for tha title track; lookin’ forward! >>> Really likin’ tha beat and how it has that C-Murder / dark feel to it! Nice job, Decky! And, tha hook kinda has his feel, too; good shit, Zoe! Here comes tha 1st verse and it’s definitely on that G-shit; all about dat “bloody murda!” Great job with deliverin’ this in a classic, Baton Rouge, LA way! And, tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear, too! My Rating: 4.5

02. “#YOBIGDAWGAHRAT” feat. Kennedy Dha BoogieMan
LOL @ all this on tha ID! For those that can’t read, it spells, “Yo Big Dawg Ah Rat!” Produced by J Man Productions, leggo!! >>> Sounds like a catchy start with tha title part repeatin’! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it’s nice! Diggin’ how you comin’ through wit this street shit, once again! Neva disappointin’ at all times, when it comes ta you, Zoe! Like you previously said, “S-N-II-T-C-H,” I feel like just spellin’, “Z-O-E,” or, “R-E-A-LL-to-tha-A!” You know… Great job wit tha 1st verse and I’ll give you credit fa quotin’ and showin’ luv ta “Nu$$ie.” Though I think people have watered him down over tha years, you don’t sound all dickriding and boring when you show him luv. Keepin’ this goin’ wit this Boogieman on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through with some nice shit fa tha Rouge, here; nice collab! Feelin’ his “Uzis” reference, too… My Rating: 4.4

03. “Wat U Mean” feat. Rambo K Kutta
Keepin’ tha flamez goin’ by havin’ Guss Make My Beats doin’ a track for you, here! >>> Diggin’ tha lil’ bounce sample sound in tha beginning with a gangsta twist! Ooh, once tha hook kicked in, a lil’ bit of a G-Funk effect, too; triple combo, Guss! Good shit! Diggin’ tha hook; anotha nice one, Zoe! And, even comin’ through nicely on tha 1st verse, too; G-shit at its finest! “Stuck a dildo in a socket?” Whoa…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Rambo and this gangsta shit sounds nice ta hear, as always! My Rating: 4.4

½time: Pure quality at its finest, here; good shit! Definitely feelin’ tha production to tha fullest, as well as how you comin’ through wit this G-shit fa tha Rouge, Zoe! Now, at least eight years in this, still goin’ strong! Props ta tha collaborations, too! Keep it goin’, as you currently have a nice 4.4 CD rating!

04. “Wit DHA Shitz” feat. Jiggaman Da Triggaman & KB Da GBG
Mouse On Tha Track doin’ tha beat, here! Tha Jiggaman from Opelousas? I doubt it, but let’s see what this gon offer! >>> Definitely diggin’ this pure-soundin’ beat from Mouse; he got “dha shitz” when it comes ta rapidly & effectively producing tracks!! Good shit from you on tha 1st verse, Zoe; gotta let dat “diarrhea” out, ya feel me?! Nice hook, too; jammin’ shit! And, here’s that Jiggaman dude and no, it’s not tha Opelousas dude; this tha 1st time I’m hearin’ this dude… He sounds catchy and almost a lil’ white on tha voice, but he got some catchy rhymes ta carry over… Carry ‘em ova successfully before hittin’ tha toilet, lol! And, we got dat KB dude on tha 3rd verse, doin’ his thang to tha fullest! “Lemme take a shit! Lemme take a shit;” whoa, gotta luv this! How ‘bout some shittin’ pics, lol? Or, wait, hol’ up… *Pauses track at 7:49 AM to…*

Take a shit fa havin’ “dha shitz!!” *Returns and resumes track at 7:55 AM…* My Rating: 4.6

05. “Paranoid”
Ugh, somewhere along tha line, there had to be a guilty pleasure on this CD! Okay, Q-Red On The Track on tha beat, not exactly “QRed On Dha Track”. >>> Sounds nice witchu on tha hook; feelin’ how comin’ through wit your “rod” and bein’ “paranoid.” Speakin’ of dat, tha weed cookies are in!! You know, I get quietly “noid,” especially if I know people are sleepin’! However, if we in tha car and shit, you prolly gon hear me make a sound effect to every reaction! Oh, gotta luv tha high! Continuin’ on, we got you spittin’ some nice, glock-spittin’ rhymes on tha 1st verse; good shit! And, tha 2nd verse sounds nice ta hear, too! Once again, you holdin’ it down, whether you “noid” or not! My Rating: 4.3

06. “Big Girls Don’t Cry” feat. Kevin Gates
No producer listed; Fergie song from ’07? >>> Actually, I thought it would’ve been ‘cause of no producer listed and you first bein’ heard in ’07… But, I’m feelin’ this production and Gates got it goin’ on wit tha hook! Always luved tha “lingo” shit and how he says it! Got you on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through wit some good shit… And, you on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit some good shit, again! Thought Gates was gon have a verse, but this iz still nice to hear! My Rating: 4.2

Overall: GR8 lil’ promo disc, here, Zoe!! As always, you come through wit that pure heat! Props fa keepin’ it goin’ and as always, continue ta keep it goin’!! You doin’ ya thang, as far as reputation amongst tha streetz, amongst tha collaborators, and amongst tha producers!
