Review #960: Bic Jack "I'on Play Mixtape Vol. 2 (Da Venue) (Hosted by Phunk Dawg)"

Reviewed on 5.29.2011 (Review #960)

My final review for tonight. Once again, I’m surprised I’m doin’ this ‘cause I have a sextuple cold (what I like ta call—six body parts are fucked up on me, right now). :cry Rough, but tha grind don’t stop! I find it ironic dat on dayz I’m fine, I’m lazy as fuck to review, but on dayz where I’m sick in multiple areas, I review like it’s nothin’, ROFL! Bic Jack “I’on Play Mixtape Vol. 2 (Da Venue) (Hosted by Phunk Dawg) iz tha next CD I’m reviewin’; will it help my 6x cold? Start Time: 11:30 PM | End Time: 11:49 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Phunkdawg Xclusive: Intro
>>> LOL, this iz his voice? I dunno why but I wouldn’t’ve pictured dis high-energetic voice, lol; good shit! My Rating: N/A

02. “Wat U ‘Bout” Feat. Bank
Let’s hear dis! >>> Nice Southern vibe; even betta: nice content for tha streetz! Tha hook sounds catchy wit tha title repeatin’ so many times; good shit! Tha 2nd verse sounds good fa tha South, too; all about livin’ dat Southern life! My Rating: 4.3

03. “If U Don’t Kno”
>>> Good start wit dis beat; you got shit on lock fa tha streetz, once again! Tha hook sounds catchy; can’t deny shit dat sounds hot over a Southern beat wit a melody ta match! My Rating: 4.3

04. Phunkdawg Xclusive: Drop One
>>> LOL, sounds tight; smh @ tha “dropped outta school” part, though. My Rating: N/A

05. “I Do Wat U Kant” Feat. Level
Nice green/bigger text on tha back cover!! Thumbs up fa havin’ dis hot-ass song on here!! My Current Rating: 4.7

06. “Rock Hard”
>>> Nice vibe; rhymes are consistent fa dis Southern vibe! Oh damn, I didn’t realize dis song was about your “dick” bein’ “rock hard,” ROFL?!? Damn…; this iz a real tight joint fa tha ladies, though! You already know, you keepin’ shit on ‘n’ poppin’, lol! My Rating: 4.2

07. “On Fire”
Not in tha DatPiff folder… My Rating: N/A

08. “Kan’t Leave It Alone”
Also missing… My Rating: N/A

09. “Just In Da Way”
>>> Beat’s a lil’ slower and smooth, this time; flow iz real catchy, at least… At least this joint’s only 2:35; doesn’t need ta be too long. Damn, Missy Elliott’s “Pussycat” song on tha end of tha hook (“me and only me”)? Didn’t expect dat, although not bad, overall. My Rating: 3.8

½time: Good thing fa tha Level collaboration bein’ on here; nothin’ but some hot shit comin’ from you and mainly you, this time! Currently, you’re at a 4.3 for my CD rating.

10. Phunk Dawg Xclusive: Drop Two
>>> LOL! You know! I like these “bow” endings wit tha heavy echoing!! My Rating: N/A

11. “Bury Me Thug’in (BMT)”
No big, green text? LOL… My Current Rating: 4.2

12. “We Toss Dat”
>>> Good Southern vibe, again; sounds like somethin’ Lil’ Cali would rap on, lol. This iz anotha good joint fa tha ladies so you know what’s up, here. My Rating: 3.9

13. “I Be Doin’ It”
My Current Rating: 3.9

14. “Who Kan I Run 2” Feat. Meechie
I only rated a 3.5 on a 1st listen? Lemme rehear and see if it grows… *Rehears* Oh yea, tha female on tha hook; neva mind—I’ll boost it, still. My Current Rating: 3.7

15. “32-Bar Freestyle”
Lemme hear what you got! >>> Long intro? Let’s get tha freestylin’ goin’ on! LOL, had ta have no beat, huh, lol? You sound like you’re doin’ good… Actually, you were pretty fired-up without tha beat; tha beat just makes it sound like a regular song… Either way, I’m glad you’re consistent, here! My Rating: 4.0

16. “Betrayed”
Looked familiar but I guess not… >>> Nice beat start… LOL, anotha song wit “piss” in it, ROFL! Sounds like a good song about keepin’ “it too real;” feelin’ your flow, once again, on dis good, smooth beat! My Rating: 4.0

17. “We Gone Ride” Feat. Smiley G
Since tha DatPiff tracklisting says, “Phunkdawg Exclusive,” I assume he produced dis? >>> Feelin’ tha beat, here, and tha rappin’ sounds good/on a focused level! Ooh, catchy hook from Smiley G wit dis title and how he delivers it! :tu Glad y’all keepin’ shit street, to tha fullest! My Rating: 4.3

18. “I Tried”
>>> Dis title—and how dis iz soundin’—sounds a lil’ sour. Tha rhymes are somewhat-good but this iz a lil’ boring for a song; at least tha Southern beat—although a lil’ boring—sounds somewhat-good. Plus, why iz this 4.5 minutes long? :confused My Rating: 3.1

19. Phunkdawg Xclusive: Outro
!!! >>> LOL, can’t get ova dis great voice! Glad he representin’ to tha fullest, here!! LOL, not much of an echo wit tha “bow” this time, ROFL? Thumbs up fa hostin’, Phunk Dawg! My Rating: N/A

Overall: Definitely a nice job! Tha only thing was what happened to tha two missin’ songs?

Review #959: Mikey T "Once Upon A Classic"

Reviewed on 5.29.2011 (Review #959)

I got two reviewz ta do for tonight. I’m surprised I’m doin’ ‘em ‘cause I have a sextuple cold (what I like ta call—six body parts are fucked up on me, right now). Rough, but tha grind don’t stop! This review I have iz Mikey T “Once Upon A Classic. Hope this doesn’t suck and add pressure to my 6x cold! Start Time: 9:55 PM | End Time: 10:19 PM

01. Intro
Produced by Kossae. >>> Just keys? They sound tight, but I can’t judge only this intro… My Rating: N/A

02. “Revolution” Feat. Joe Cool
Featured and produced by Joe Cool. >>> Sounds like good rappin’; tha beat’s pretty nice, too… I’m likin’ this undaground vibe, as it reminds me of some of tha Early 2000’s-type shit, when I used ta get somewhat-excited ova unknown/new shit. Hook almost sounds odd wit tha random sample speech goin’ on, lol… Joe Cool’s aight on tha 2nd verse; sounds too much like Kanye? My Rating: 3.7

03. “Fly Like A Bird” Feat. Domi Rash
Joe Cool producin’, again. >>> Anotha intro? Okay, at :24, it actually starts… Even though a lil’ borin’ wit tha production, I have some interest in dis… I like tha “nickel, nigga” part; catchy combo. Good rhymes although tha hook’s a lil’ cheesy/sucky for me wit this sample; I don’t get why people have an erected-love for samples? Rash’s on tha 2nd verse and it’s an aight verse, too; glad he doesn’t really sound like anybody… My Rating: 3.2

04. “What You Askin’ For” Feat. Mr. Hearns
>>> C’mon, anotha intro part? I dunno if dat’s tryna be creative or too repetitive? For some reason, I seem annoyed, which prolly means dat I feel dat it’s gettin’ repetitive. Anyway, beat’s completely dry, here; not even 1% of any tightness goin’ on wit it although tha rhymes are a lil’ good… Why in tha hell iz this so low on tha volume? Kinda gainin’ interest toward tha 1:58 mark but this beat has 0% tightness in it; WTF? My Rating: 2.4

05. “Paris Nights/New York Mornings” Feat. B3auu
What does dat featured dude’s name say? >>> Beat’s boring, once again; not tha most interest fa me… Damn, A-Tune at :52? Fuck tha rest of dis! Don’t eva mix “classic” and A-Tune; I hate this stupid, fucked-up generation we’re in wit Rap! My Rating: 1.3

06. “Enchanted”
>>> A lil’ betta wit tha beat but why so sappy? Where’s tha intro beat??? Not bad wit tha rhymes; not sure what ta say… No rhymes on tha hook? I’m actually likin’ how tha beat sounds on tha hook, so at least you got a plus… My Rating: 3.5

07. “Hurt”
>>> Damn, why Christina Aguilera’s beat; I don’t get dis shit? Wish I would be listenin’ to my Baton Rouge-type shit and not this jacked/Pop-jacked-type shit when it comes to tha beats. Anyway, no need ta have interest in dis… SMH @ tha original parts bein’ in dis; deduction! My Rating: 1.2

08. “Searching For Love”
>>> Again, anotha wack-ass beat? Hook’s pretty wack; not feelin’ dis singin’, especially since dis CD’s not helpin’ out, either! My Rating: 1.4

½time: Thought this would be a decent CD but it seems to be takin’ a toll wit me…; current CD rating iz 2.4.

09. “Highness” Feat. Sean G
ChefBoyArrDee on tha beat. >>> Even though I can fuck wit Sade, this sax izn’t for me, Louisiana Rap style. Once again, way too dry for me; I do think tha hook’s catchy but nothin’ I’d take serious, in a 2011 perspective. My Rating: 2.7

10. “Timeless” Feat. Sean G
Cannon beat. >>> Not for me; had enough of all these Southern rappers tryna sound tha same—sound like East Coast people when East Coast has been dead!! Way too much on Kanye’s dick, here! Hook has a plain sample, once again; what tha hell? What’s up wit tha intros/outros on all these songs? My Rating: 1.1

11. “Looking For A Purpose” Feat. Top Billion
Lyr1kz beat. >>> Boring intro, again…; damn, driest Rap CD of all time? This sounds betta wit tha rappin’ and I’m startin’ ta like tha beat once tha rappin’ starts. Okay, this iz betta than I expected; rappin’ iz on point from tha both of y’all. My Rating: 3.6

12. “It Gets No Better” Feat. Christian Dee
Christian Dee did tha beat, too. >>> Production’s kinda boring fa me; nothin’ terrible but nothin’ for me, song wise. My Rating: 2.5

13. “Late Night Classics” Feat. Christian Dee & Darius
Kossae beat. >>> More mainstream-soundin’ shit… Good startin’ line: “it’s like I’m freefallin’ backwards.” Y’all do an aight job on tha verses; can’t hate on ‘em, since this iz a not-too-bad joint. My Rating: 3.3

14. “Ain’t Said Shit” Feat. Top Billion & Domi Rash
Kossae beat. >>> This sample of Eazy-E’s a lil’ on tha played-out side. It’s like, shit, as soon as tha CD’s about ta make a comeback… Either way, rhymes are good/aight… My Rating: 3.6

15. “Bringing88Back (Est. 88)”
>>> I can fuck wit this, no matter what condition it iz; at least you have a consistent amount of rhymes goin’ on, here! My Rating: 4.3

16. “Bye-Bye” Feat. Top Billion
Endin’ wit a Joe Cool beat. >>> Even though a cheesy title, tha hook sounds catchy wit tha repeatin’ of tha title… Rhymes are soundin’ pretty cool, here; nice job… Damn, endin’ wit an outro for tha endin’ song, no less… My Rating: 3.4

Overall: This review iz not sayin’ dat you suck; this review iz sayin’ dat this CD wasn’t really for me. What I like to hear iz Louisiana and tha sound I’ve known it for. I’m not into all dat East Coast-soundin’, Drake-dickin’/Wayne-dickin’, 2010’s-generation-type shit.

01. Intro
Only 20 seconds? What gon pop off? >>> Sounds anticipatin’ wit tha beat in tha background! My Rating: N/A

02. “I’m Str8”
Missin’ an “r” in “st8”? Let’s hear how good dis’ll sound! >>> Quality’s not dat high? A lil’ slow start fa me but tha beat sounds good; lol, tha vocals sound so slow on tha hook, especially durin’ tha 2nd ½, lol! Rhymes from Bic Jack sounds pretty good on tha 1st verse, Lajah Music Group style! J.R. must be on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some betta shit; likin’ what he bringin’ to tha table, hustla style! Interestin’ dat Dirty Harry’s a part of dis project, spittin’ some good, catchy rhymes, too! My Rating: 3.9

03. “Alright”
A Dirty Harry solo? My 2nd highest-rated song from Dirty Harry’s previous CD; glad it’s here! My Current Rating: 4.4

04. “You Ain’t Gotta Like It”
Let’s see what dis about… >>> I like how it starts wit Dirty Harry on tha hook; soundin’ hella catchy wit this title! Nice beat he rappin’ on, as well as tha certified rhymes he spittin’! Here’s Bic Jack on tha 2nd verse, doin’ a nice job wit tha rhymes, too… LOL @ tha acapella part wit “bitch, suck my dick…;” that was, like, instant, lol! J.R.’s on tha final verse and he’s pretty focused about how shit be goin’ down; glad he comin’ through in a tight way! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Bury Me Thug’in”
A solo joint from Bic Jack; let’s hear it! >>> Glad he gon shine on dis; sounds like he doin’ a nice job already! Tha hook’s soundin’ pretty good; you sound a lil’ different, in a younger, undaground perspective! Nice title; I like how tha hook ended wit it! My Rating: 4.2

06. “Enough About You”
J.R.’s solo joint! >>> Glad this iz a new joint and dat it sounds good; he doin’ a nice job, here! LOL, nothin’ but consistent rhymes comin’ from his mouth; keep ‘em goin’!! My Rating: 4.0

07. “You Know”
I knew dis was familiar from Dirty Harry… A lil’ older and it struck gold when I first reviewed it!! My Current Rating: 4.8

08. “I Be Doin’ It”
Bic Jack solo, this time! >>> LOL, what’s dat beat tag in tha beginning? Heard it in #2, too…; some of these tags are hilarious, especially when they come outta nowhere! Rhymes sound advanced, here, wit tha “put dat dick up in her mouth” and tha gun shit; guess Bic Jack’s been here, since he “be doin’ it.” Tha 2nd verse sounds nice wit tha shit he bringin’, too, wit tha “kush,” which helps tha rest of tha aight rhymes goin’ on, here. My Rating: 3.9

09. “It Ain’t What It Seems”
New song from Dirty Harry? >>> I’m likin’ tha beat; gotta luv these addictive-soundin’ beats! Good rhymes from Harry, comin’ through wit tha real shit!! Ooh, tha hook’s nice; sounds like regular rappin’ but tha title helps! Glad Dirty Harry’s nice and smart; definitely helps tha rappin’!! My Rating: 4.5

½time: Dis CD’s definitely nice!! I didn’t realize there were buku solo jointz but they’re definitely nice!! Hope ta hear at least one more joint wit all three of y’all on it, though! Currently, 4.3 iz tha CD rating!!!

10. “Can I Have A Chance” Feat. Adlib
J.R.’s joint wit Adlib? I dunno how I’ll feel; lemme hear… >>> Really depressin’ start but tha hook ain’t too bad… Now, J.R.’s on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some rhymes, at least; this sour beat ain’t too bad… I really like how J.R.—and various times throughout dis mixtape—shouted out “Hawk;” gotta show buku luv ta him! Overall, this wasn’t too bad for a slow song! My Rating: 3.6

11. “Who Kan I Run 2” Feat. Meechie
Jack’s song featuring some Meechie dude… >>> Sounds like a better version of a slow beat, this time! Rhymes sound pretty catchy for tha ladies, here; good shit, Bic! Nice job wit how you comin’ through wit tha rhymes… Oh, Meechie’s a gurl? Sounds okay but I dunno how much I can feel it…; not tha best; not tha worst, either… Surprisingly, I think I like tha Adlib joint I just heard betta. My Rating: 3.5

12. “Game For The Brain” Feat. Jamie C
J.R.’s solo joint featuring Jamie C; dude or gurl? >>> Damn, not anotha slow song… Not tha gurl trick again! This one’s worse than tha previous song, already; not likin’ how tha vocals sound like they sample a song… Tha beat iz way too plain and boring for me, here; low interest in tha rhymes, too. My Rating: 2.4

13. “Get It Up There” Feat. Jamie C & Y-Kean
Who’s song? Everyone’s? >>> Ooh, Wodieson beat tag and this sounds like a good joint wit a lady on it (oh, ladies, my bad)! Yea, this must be err-body ‘cause Jack’s on tha 1st ½ of tha 1st verse and Dirty Harry’s on tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse; both y’all doin’ a nice job on this faster-soundin’ beat! LOL, “I get head like a fitted;” no wonder why they call him Dirty Harry, lol! Tha 2nd verse iz Y-Kean; let’s see what she’s got… Okay, this rappin’ from her iz betta than those previous songs I just heard! Almost didn’t think a 3rd verse was gonna fit on here but it’s soundin’ good from J.R.; thumbs up! My Rating: 4.0

14. “Check Out My Fresh”
A Dirty Harry song… >>> Dot Com Beatz on tha beat; sounds hot, once again, wit how these beats are meant ta be!! Why does dis sound a lil’ familiar? Regardless, it’s definitely nice; very consistent rhymin’!!! LOL, Dirty Harry drugged up on some rappin’ liquid/fluid, lol! Sounds like a comeback song from Harry; definitely some good shit, overall; tha rhymes neva stop throughout dis whole thang!! My Rating: 4.7

15. “Hell Of A Night” Feat. Lil’ Cali
Got dis saved in my favorites but now, I gon hear it here, first! J.R.’s solo song, by tha way! >>> Mod Productions doin’ tha beat; sounds like dis gon be one “hell of a” song, lol! Prolly would’ve expected a really crazy, hyper-soundin’ beat but this iz cool, too! Sounds like a hook dat could get in ya system, lol! Tha rhymes sound cool on tha 1st verse; good job, J.R.! Glad he’s in tha mood in a great way!! Cali’s on tha 2nd verse and it sounds like a “hell of a” collaboration!! LOL, already twice, I said, “hell of a ___;” guess “hell of a ___” will be a Summer 2011 sayin’! Seems ta not get outta my head, lol! Good job, Cali; tha two cents he offered added tha orange juice ta dis lemonade, lol! Here’s J.R. on tha 3rd verse, addin’ some Shirley Temple-type flava to tha ingredients of dis song; thumbs up!! My Rating: 4.4

16. “I Do Wat U Kant” Feat. Level
LOL @ “wat” dis title looks like; let’s see how Jack gon hold it down wit Level! >>> Almost sounds like a Louisiana artist on tha sample; good shit… LOL, just because it’s Level on tha feature, does dis mean dat Bic Jack has ta go crazy, lol?!? Funny…; feelin’ his extended energy applied to tha track! LOL, I thought Level would be on tha 2nd verse but it’s you, comin’ through wit more tight shit! ROFL @ Level on tha 3rd verse, especially tha start!! LOL, iz he tha cockiest rapper? LOL… My Rating: 4.7

17. “What’s Up”
Anotha collaboration between tha three of y’all? Lookin’ forward ta hearin’!! >>> Beat sounds nice, wit a Baton Rouge feel to it! Tha 1st verse iz tight; thumbs up fa dis catchy shit from J.R.! Ooh, tha hook couldn’t’ve been anymore catchier wit tha way dis “what’s up” shit sounds; good shit! :tu Dirty Harry’s on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit mo heat fa dis CD; glad he doesn’t give up!! LOL @ Bic Jack on tha 3rd verse wit a “bitch lookin’ like a lemon donut!” Nothin’ but dat tight shit, overall!! My Rating: 4.4

18. “I’m Grown”
Anotha song by all three of y’all? Thought it would be an outro but let’s see what dis iz… >>> Wodieson on tha beat… Beat sounds good; you know how Wodie holds it down! Thought dis would sound a lil’ childish and for tha ladies, but it’s a lil’ catchy wit tha hook… Tha 1st verse sounds like a focused Dirty Harry; lol, thought it was someone else on tha 1st verse fa a second! Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ different; singin’ style from J.R.? A lil’ on tha interestin’ style, somewhat! Wait, was dat him? Sounds like err-body’s alternatin’ like crazy, lol! My Rating: 3.7

Overall: This was a nice mixtape from tha three of y’all!! Definitely thought it was nice ta hear Bic Jack introduced ta me; real nice ta hear a continuation of J.R.; real nice ta hear more of Dirty Harry! :tu All y’all keep up tha great work as well as Hawk, Lajah Music Group & anything else comin’ up!!

Review #957: Webbie "Webbie's (Hosted by DJ Fletch)"

Reviewed on 5.26.2011 (Review #957)

My next review iz Webbie “Webbie’s (Hosted by DJ Fletch); not sure why I didn’t look fa dis one when I was reviewin’ tha 2nd part. Start Time: 1:46 PM | End Time: 2:02 PM

Reviewed on 5.26.2011 (Review #956)

Only three current reviewz remaining, for now, thank God! This 1st one for today iz Geezy; not sure who dis iz but I saw Way 3000 give them a comment. Here goes my review for his Lyrical Evidence CD. Start Time: 11:21 AM | End Time: 11:35 AM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Warning”
Why iz this called “36’s O’z Freestyle” on tha info? >>> Doesn’t sound too bad; you actually have some “rhymes” ta offer, luckily! My Rating: 3.8

02. “Motivation”
>>> LOL @ tha volume difference from tha previous song, which was lower. Good rhymes, here, minus tha “bitches, I got a lot of ‘em” shit, which iz too typical. My Rating: 3.7

03. “Ransom”
>>> Good rhymes, again. My Rating: 3.7

04. “Money Talk” Feat. Red
>>> Again, tha rhymes are pretty consistent, here; sounds good for a collaboration! My Rating: 3.8

05. “G-Shit”
>>> Dis ain’t too bad; sounds like you have good stamina wit dis shit. My Rating: 3.7

06. “O Let’s Do It”
>>> Rather hear a different beat; everyone sounds tha same on dis! You’re a lil’ betta than typical people, though. My Rating: 3.2

07. “Luv Somebody” Feat. Peewee & Fred
>>> Why iz this so loud? :confused Why iz this mixtape goin’ downhill? No need for a sample; you’re aight but no need for tha features, here. SMH, tha last verse sounds off-beat? My Rating: 2.1

½time: A 3.4-rated CD, currently; smh @ tha previous two jointz on here…

08. “Wasted”
>>> Why iz this loud, too? Heard betta from you on this mixtape since this iz only aight. My Rating: 3.4

09. “Women Lie, Men Lie”
>>> A lil’ boring for me; tired of hearin’ these same beats 1,000,000x! My Rating: 2.9

10. “Tha Mobb”
>>> Sounds pretty gay wit tha beginning voice… LOL, this iz only 34 seconds; good thing, even though it’s betta than usual, finally. ROFL, it cut off!! :rofl My Rating: 3.5

11. “I’m Retarded” Feat. Fred, Yella & La’Kevin
>>> Doesn’t even sound like it fits on this CD fulla jacked beats; weird-ass beat sounds goin’ on, here… BTW, why iz this almost 5.5 minutes long? I thought this CD had two-minute songs? My Rating: 3.4

12. “Don’t Look Wrong” (RB’z & BG’z)
Looks like a battle wit tha artists, here… >>> I can tolerate this a lil’ betta; have I heard dis before? Guess not…; rhymes sound like they have some consistent energy goin’ on but not too annoyin’ like tha previous song. My Rating: 3.8

13. “Fight Night” Feat. La’Kevin, Yella & Fred
>>> LOL @ BW’s name only “DJ Wayne”; must be helllllllllla old, especially since there’s a beat pattern, too! Anyway, an aight/good song; should be considered tha best song on here. My Rating: 4.2

14. “Got Money”
Not sure why this iz a couple megabytes when it doesn’t even load? My Rating: N/A

Overall: Was better than I expected…
