Review #945: Piz Corleone "Mr. Medicinal"

Reviewed on 5.22.2011 (Review #945)

My 8th review for tha day: Piz Corleone “Mr. Medicinal. BTW, I know you were Young Pizz in tha past; are you tha same dude dat produces for Down Bad? Tight-ass front cover wit dat good-ass blunt in ya mouth! Start Time: 8:24 PM | End Time: 8:49 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Roll Up (Mr. Medicinal)”
You produced? You have ta be tha same Piz Corleone dude! >>> Then again, this sound iz a lil’ East Coast than tha Southern shit I’d hear from Down Bad. Ooh, good intro wit tha chokin’; feelin’ it!! LOL, just reviewed a “High Times” CD and dis song goes perfect wit it, lol; definitely a nice “high” anthem!!! Tha flow iz a lil’ like Drake/Wayne so I’m not really dat fascinated by it… But, you got some hot shit goin’ on fa tha dudes dat “roll up!” Thumbs up fa tha 2nd verse, too; you know how ta make yourself feel good! My Rating: 4.4

02. “Hustleman” Feat. J.Hu$tle
You’re on tha beat, again, and fuck yea, my big dawg J.Hu$tle on tha feature!!! >>> Nice production, dawg! I like how you’re comin’ through, here, wit anotha high-soundin’ joint—song, lol! Tha hook sounds good; always supplyin’ err-body! Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ catchier wit your flow; good shit, although it’s leanin’ toward tha Wayne/Drake flow, again. Now, let’s see what my big dawg has ta offer on tha 3rd verse; get ‘em, Hu$tle!! Shit yea, he $official$ wit it 100% of tha time!! My Rating: 4.5

03. “Paper Junkie” Feat. Young Gregory & Mel 985
Damn, look at tha feature! Guess you are tha same dude; dat’s a plus! You’re on tha beat, once again; really lookin’ forward ta hearin’ dis!! >>> I guess you got a different style fa your CD; soundin’ hot wit tha sounds, ya dig? Tha hook’s pretty catchy for a “money” song. You doin’ a pretty good job fa tha 1st verse; not bad… Ooh, Greg on tha 2nd verse and dat voice iz definitely tha shit!! Sounds like he got a bunch of “money”-related shit goin’ on fa tha 2nd verse and it’s definitely nice when tha voice of Greg hold$ it down!!! As far as Mel on tha 3rd verse, he sounds a lil’ more laidback but it’s good ‘cause he focused. My Rating: 4.5

04. “Super Flyy” Feat. Bloodhound
Lookin’ forward ta dis wit you on tha beat, once again! >>> A lil’ more Southern, here; glad you givin’ a shout out ta “Macked Out;” M-M-M-Macked Out Music!! LOL @ tha ‘white dude-soundin’’ 1st verse wit words endin’ in “er” than “a”, especially “swishers,” lol. Tha hook’s soundin’ like a future anthem song; nice job creatin’ catchiness! Tha 2nd verse iz also good; glad you gave a shout out ta Funkmaster “Flex” wit tha “drop bombs” shit! Tha “bombs” bring back memories when I would listen to New York radio from 2000 – 2002 and then, when I would visit NY. Tha 3rd verse iz Bloodhound; good vibe and tha way he comes through fa a newbie; it’s all about keepin’ it street to tha fullest! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Get Money” Feat. Hey Daem & Trap Louisiana
Someone has “Louisiana” in their name, lol? You’re on tha beat… >>> LOL, a beat tag in tha beginning? Tha hook sounds aight although how many “money” songs there has ta be? Sounds like video game sounds in this song, lol? Pretty catchy, includin’ dis 1st verse… Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty hyper! Crazy deliveries, lol; it’s all about tha energy!! Damn, if dat’s tha Trap Louisiana dude on tha 3rd verse, I’m a lil’ turned off wit tha Drake flow, hence tha “uh” soundin’ like him, too. Anyway, this iz an aight song, overall… My Rating: 4.2

½time: Sounds like you’re on lock wit dis Rap shit, boi! A 4.4 for tha CD rating, currently; good job!!

06. “Lime Light” Feat. DBoy Repasenta of B.S.D.
Not exactly produced but arranged by you? Interestin’; dat’s tha 1st time I seen dat word used in a description so should dis be lucky? >>> Nice Egyptian start in tha beat! As far as tha song, it’s good; nice job wit tha 1st verse, here. Listenin’ to tha hook, now, and it sounds like anotha feel-good-type joint! Tha 2nd verse iz a way to enjoy; likin’ tha flow and lol @ how descriptive you are… “Hands on my balls;” descriptive, lol. Tha 3rd verse sounds good fa feelin’ good; lol @ these rhymes and tha automatic sex… LOL, long ending wit tha repeatin’ hook? Sounded good; nice beat, once again! My Rating: 4.4

07. “My Girl”
Anotha beat arranged by you? What happened to producin’? >>> Not 100% produced by you since this iz ‘80s beat, “Don’t Disturb This Groove”; why iz this here? Doesn’t sound like it fits, here, even though I like tha original; will I like it enough for a 4.0? Lemme keep hearin’… Rhymes are aight but when you get descriptive wit ‘em, they sound a lil’ betta… LOL, boring hook? Sounds like nothin’s really goin’ on wit it… Tha rest iz a lil’ boring fa me; sorry, but this doesn’t qualify for a “I love it”/4.0 rating for me. My Rating: 3.6

08. “Burnin’ Dosha”
A beat by you; have I heard dis already? >>> Guess not, since it’s not in my iTunes… Beat’s aight but tha “kush”-type content iz gettin’ me interested… Tha hook sounds aight, even though there’s not much to it… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and once again, you got tha “kush” shit on lock; thumbs up. My Rating: 4.1

09. “Caddy Gangsta Musik”
Sonny Brix on tha beat, this time, lol. >>> Tha beat’s a lil’ smoother, here; what else’ll go on wit dis? Sounds a lil’ like Barry White music in tha beat’s background music… Tha hook’s a lil’ catchy; I like how you holdin’ it down fa those in tha “Caddy,” lol. Overall, this iz a pretty nice-soundin’ joint. Ooh, afta 2:30, it sounds like you smokin’! My Rating: 4.2

10. “Smile” Feat. Lockz
Anotha beat arranged by you… >>> Good “smokin’ on dis shit called ‘Woody’” shit but when you inhaled, tha title appeared as a sample, lol? Odd… “One blunt fa breakfast;” glad you obsessed, lol! Even though this sample iz weird for me, I’m likin’ tha smooth vibe, once again; it’s all about creatin’ some good-soundin’ music! Tha Lockz dude on tha 2nd verse sounds like someone from tha East Coast; nice rhymes and voice fa dis shit! Hope he smokes some big-ass blunts, too; sounds like he’s cravin’ for ‘em, lol! My Rating: 4.3

11. “When I Arrive”
Chemist on tha beat? Looks a lil’ East Coastish… >>> Tha length’s a lil’ long (5:44)…; tha hook’s a lil’ too Kanyeish for me, which iz not tha kinda shit I’d wanna hear in a Louisiana state of mind. It took almost a minute for tha 1st verse and tha rhymes are aight/on a Wayne/Drake tip wit tha flow… LOL, this song only has two verses in it? You saved tha last two minutes for tha beat? And, a repeat of tha hook…? My Rating: 3.5

Overall: Pretty good-soundin’ CD you got here, Piz; thumbs up! Glad it’s really you dat fucks wit Macked Out Music in a major way!! Did you grow up wit them at Macked Out? Glad you have a connection wit ‘em and keep up tha great work!
