Live Review #13: Trouble "#ZayDidIt"

Filmed & reviewed live in tha abandoned water tower in Kings Park, NY on August 2, 2015

FrankieThaLuckyDog reviews 2 Tru Entertainment recording artist, Trouble--hailing from Atlanta, Georgia--and his mixtape, #ZayDidIt, produced by Zaytoven (except #12, which was produced by Shawty Fresh), which dropped on June 9, 2015. This iz how I review every CD on a typical basis (minus tha talkin'--tha talkin' iz only 'cause you can't really see what I'm typin'), and I traveled to spice things up, adding some fun to it 'cause I support Uncle T a.k.a. Tony "I Am Tha Connect" Guidry, who manages Trouble! Also, shout out to my cousin, Ant & friend, Frankie, for helpin' me out with some shots and lighting. And, anticipate tha surprise ending of whether or not I make it to tha top of tha water tower!

Review #1,478: Mouse On Tha Track "No Commercials"

Reviewed on 8.11.2015 (Review #1,478)

FrankieThaLuckyDog here, with a review for my boy, Mouse On Tha Track! I have a sinus infection that has traveled from my tickling throat to my nose and now, my head, so I’ve been a lil’ under tha weather. However, because today’s August 11, I remembered that today marked a year since I reviewed tha Air Time CD, which was when Mass Appeal Records drove to my house to interview me! Can’t believe a whole year has went by, and I’ono if it’s shocking or not, but I only did 63 reviewz since a year ago today. Doesn’t seem like a lot, but if you look at how no one really releases any CDs anymore, 63 seems like a lot with me working all tha time. But yeah, despite my sickness, I’m makin’ history repeat with anotha Mouse review on August 11! I believe this one’s sponsored by 8090 Music, like tha last disc? Regardless, this No Commercials; nice lil’ color lines on tha artwork! Reminds me of bein’ in college! With a lot goin’ on since tha last August 11 (friend vanishing on me, three publications, losing my brother & more), I hope to still be excited for this review! Nice lil’ mini review of this CD on your website, too, Mouse! Start Time: 9:16 PM | End Time: 10:05 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “No Commercials (Intro)”
As always, produced by you! Wish I was in my zone, right now, but let’s just get inta this! >>> Glad you’re “researching everythang,” especially that you know how ta write/capitalize and shit! Wish that was my job, smh! They call it “OCDin’” but I call it “bein’ smart!” Anyway, sounds pretty nice; diggin’ your real-life rhymes, here! Almost sounds like it’s on some ‘90s rap, here, between your voice and tha beat, at times! I agree about “smokin’ a blunt;” where da killa at, right now?! Ugh!! “Fuck tha rules…;” fuckin’ right!! Very consistent rhymes; definitely feelin’ ‘em!! Hope we connect on a much-bigger level after our great Twitter conversation:
And, nice ending with tha CD’s title! My Rating: 4.7

02. “In Yere”
Doin’ a Nelly with tha different “here,” but as “Yere”? Interesting…; keep your productions goin’!! >>> Really diggin’ tha sound in tha beginning; excellent, laidback sound and tha hook’s real smooth with you singin’ on it! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s all about hangin’ in there, through tha thick ‘n’ thin! Keepin’ this shit goin’ on with tha 2nd verse and you sound like you’re in a nice zone—a solo zone! I feel like I can appreciate you more and you can appreciate me more now that you’re not surrounded by Trill Entertainment popularity and all dat! Nice job deliverin’ that catchy verse fa this track, too; good shit! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Hoe Shit”
I deal with a ton of it, lately; still tryna be important to people, at times… But, at least I don’t stop grindin’! Anotha production from you, here…! >>> Real nice production sound in tha beginning—oh, I can’t wait ta release new music soon!! I really need tha free time, at tha moment; I got all tha topics on deck!! Definitely feelin’ this jiggin’ vibe mixed with a lil’ sound fa tha hood! Beat almost sounds like it samples “I Got 5 On It” from tha ‘90s, at times! Nice job wit tha hook, too; catchy, addictive, and that specific beat sound (“din, din-din”)’s hot!! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice! I swear, you still sound like a ‘90s gangsta rapper on tha vocals on this CD, at times! You’re in a new decade of your life on this CD, now that you’re in your 30’s! Tha last one, you were in your 20’s! My Rating: 4.6

04. “Naked Lady”
Yee! Keep your productions consistently goin’, Mouse!! >>> Pretty smooth, here, with that typical Mouse sound ta back it up! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and lol, your voice/delivery sounds cheesy, here, but it’s still nice ta hear, lol… Startin’ ta get catchier around 1:02 with tha flow, this time! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ good; lol, I swear, at times, you sound a lil’ white, at times, with how you rap some of tha words… Have no fear, Mouse; this iz far from wack!! My Rating: 4.2

05. “Nope”
Yup, lol, but I’m glad it’s really just you on this whole entire CD, between production and who’s on tha songs! >>> A nice start with a lil’ bit of a ‘90s Louisiana sound in tha beat, here; definitely diggin’ your fresh-n-new throwback sound! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s catchy; I think it’s catchier than tha previous hook, fa me… Tha 2nd verse iz here and it sounds good ta hear; a nice lil’ joint, overall. “You neva have no gas money;” don’t worry, Mouse! I would pay you anything ta take me on a non-stop ride!! Luv goin’ in car rides and listenin’ ta music while fulla dat shit!! My Rating: 4.2

06. “Build It Up”
Turnin’ “up” with anotha Mouse On Tha Track track!! >>> Sounds like you’re experimentin’ wit your voice, here; very catchy on tha voice, this time, lol!! Such a catchy hook and hot beat!! Southern vibes at its finest, of course!! Here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit a kick-ass delivery that’s catchy and just livin’ life wit tha “hoes” and tha trenches, all day, every day!! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ just as catchy, as well; good shit, holdin’ shit “dooooooownnnn!!” My Rating: 4.7

07. “Long Day”
Felt like it today with my allergies… But, your production’s been healin’ tha motivation when a cold gets in tha way and it shall continue ta do so! >>> A nice start, though I’ono about tha word “tired,” especially with Gates promotin’ not bein’ “tired.” However, I definitely can dig tha “put that kush up in tha air” line, when it comes ta feelin’ good! I mean, look at those dayz I work and travel ta NY; I stay up 21 – 23 hours outta tha day!!! So much activity out there, but energy in me!! But yeah, hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice; diggin’ this laidback beat sound… And now, at 2:34, halfway through, tha beat has changed up… Kinda sounds a lil’ screwed, but this time, more…like…it…was…sl…ow…ed…d…o…w…n…! Tha 2nd verse’s delivery’s a lil’ faster and tha beat sounds are pretty nice, still! I honestly feel like it just jumped ta autumn, or somethin’, with how this tempo changed! “Now, all I wanna do iz smoke and get high;” neva imaged such a great feeling!! Can’t wait till that day when we’re smokin’ together, Mouse!! Just like Tove Lo says, “I gotta stay high, all tha time…!” My Rating: 4.4

½time: Soundin’ like a pure gem, here, Mouse!! Definitely diggin’ all tha production, of course, as well as you experimentin’ in real-life rhymes, but still keepin’ your sound as pure as it can be!! Definitely some catchy-ass songs dat made tha average CD rating a 4.5, so far!! Let’s keep it goin’!!

08. “Grass Greener”
Looks like this gon be a really-catchy tune; I feel excited ta hear you on tha track, once again! >>> This sounds hot with tha beat and tha hook’s catchy; always gotta luv your voice!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s great ova this beat! Ooh, ooh! “Bunny rabbit, bunny rabbit;” lol, that’s a high Mouse fa you!!! Tha 2nd verse sounds hot with tha consistent rhymes and err-thang! However, samplin’ Gates sayin’, “I don’t get tired,” though? Tha previous song, you said you were “tired,” Mouse, lol? Just sayin’! My Rating: 4.5

09. “WMFIU”
Umm…, I’ll just hear it, lol; your production says it all, prolly! >>> Catchy beat fa tha club, of course! Let’s see what this title stands fa… “Watch Me Fuck It Up;” lol! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice! Imagine all these chicks I deal with that are 22 gettin’ down ta dis, like, “Ooh, so kinky!!” LOL! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ pretty nice, too; it’s all about tha catchiness dat we all luv! Slowly gettin’ drowned in a voice effect on this verse, almost? Glad you were able ta reel yourself back ta shore! My Rating: 4.3

10. “Since Birth”
A.K.A., October 23, 1984! Produced by tha one born on 10.23.1984, lol! >>> “Everybody wanna be tha man like Diddy;” can’t wait till they consider me “tha man”—well, at my job, they do! But yeah, almost sounds like Troy Ave.’s “Doo Doo” shittin’ anthem, lol, on tha delivery, but it’s still nice! Diggin’ tha hook with tha title part and how you sound! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and tha lyrics are great ta hear on this track and beat; you always have such a pure, catchy voice!! Holy, really catchy voice and delivery on tha 2nd verse!!! LOL, you must smoke tha besssssssssst shit ta have you transformed!!! My Rating: 4.4

11. “Keep Watching”
Produced by Mouse On Tha Track; who else?! >>> A hot lil’ slow beat, here; doin’ it fa “tha streetz,” here! And yeah, I feel like this at my job ‘cause there’s a snitch that goes behind everyone’s back! Like, today, it literally got to tha point where my loyal co-worker that’s 66 that’s been workin’ at my job since you were two (lol, Mouse!) said somethin’ ironic to me! She said to me, “And, you know what happens to snitches in tha music business!” I was like, “Damn!,” for knowin’, in comparison ta tha snitch at my job! But yeah, catchy-ass hook!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty good ta hear; glad you can continue ta walk through anywhere, no matter what, when, or why! I feel like that, for tha most part; glad I’m accepted anywhere!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s a nice verse ta hear, too; catchy vibes from dat Miggidy-Miggidy-Mouse, lol! My Rating: 4.3

12. “Bag Full Of Money”
Despite tha title, it’s you; can’t front on it! Will your production get past tha “money” rhymes?! >>> Really diggin’ tha creepin’-up beat intro; sounds like a nightmare waitin’ ta happen that you live! I feel like tha night of 4/19 (which was 4/20, no less) of this year, where I was somewhere in Upstate New York, at night, in a building, with a cop’s spotlight on my crew and I. Like, I just crouched; I felt like I was in a never-endin’ nightmare that you dream about, lol! Last adventure before my brother passed! But yeah, tha hook’s kinda catchy, though simple; I can fuck wit it. On tha 1st verse, you’re rappin’ pretty rapidly, here; nice job! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s a nice verse ta hear, too; thumbs up. My Rating: 4.0

13. “Take Me Flying”
You’ve always been fly, so when you have songs about wings, “flying,” etc., it always turns out to be somethin’ hot! Glad you’ve produced 13 of 13 of these tracks, so far!! >>> A nice beat sound, here, with a lil’ unique, eerie sounds in tha background! Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear; feelin’ this slow vibe, again… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s only straight fa me… Thought I’d expect a lil’ catchier with how you deliver this shit, but at least it’s about “flying,” lol. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it sounds like you’re breakin’ down “2009” and shit. LOL, those dayz, I had, like, no life, as I just sat “in my room” (like you said) and just reviewed, but barely went out! Like, no car, no people; it was pathetic! Glad for myself, now, and my independence!! And, at 2:53, tha beat changed up, just like tha “Long Day” track! Still sounds pretty nice, here… Basically, endin’ this with a beat ending… My Rating: 4.0

14. “Figure It Out”
And, after 13 tracks, tha production has changed! This one’s produced by CJ Beats & Urban Truth; how will this turn out ta be? >>> Beat’s a lil’ dry fa tha start, here, and it sounds like you have a mainstream appeal on tha 1st verse, with how you sound… Still, you got that southern “swizz-ank” (swag) on tha voice! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s soundin’ nice with tha “get high with me” and “figure it out.” You now have, like, a Motown-soundin’ voice on tha hook, here, at times, though this beat’s way too dry… Tha 2nd verse’s nice ta hear, too; seemed short? Still, I’m diggin’ it! My Rating: 4.1

15. “Thick Red Bone”
Time ta end it wit a bonus, a catchy track from tha previous disc! FYI: Produced by Boss On Da Track; peep out tha review from last year:

Likin’ tha sample on tha hook, includin’ tha beat! Reminds me of those anthemic New Orleans jointz! Consistent; nice and repetitive! LOL @ tha 1st verse, Mouse: “Got a nice set of melons;” tittastic!! Likin’ tha 3rd ¼ of tha 1st verse wit how you delivered tha rhymes, as well as tha beat! Reminds me of DJ B-Real & Zeus’ “It’s Nothin’” track, which iz almost tha same length! Glad it did that nice part again; great shit, though I felt like it was a verse short, or somethin’? My Current Rating: 4.6

Overall: Great job wit this one, Mouse!! You really put a lotta great effort inta this one with tha content you provided, tha endless production you distributed, and most-importantly, tha catchiness in your neva-dyin’ voice!! It’s been hard ta get a hold of you, lately, as I tried hittin’ tha number up when I get a second; I don’t get an answer. You’re not on Twitter that often and you don’t really be checkin’ IG. Hopefully, you’ll get ta see this review soon and appreciate it! Definitely fuck wit me on some shit! We’d make a great team together! So glad that you appreciate what I do, and I hope you continue ta do it big!!

What’s crack-a-lackin’? This ya boy, FrankieThaLuckyDog here. Now, I neva heard of this artist before, but my boy, Uncle T represents fa him and all that. So, we’re gonna check this out… Straight outta Atlanta, GA, tha ATL, it’s Trouble #ZayDidIt mixtape, which was all produced by Zaytoven and released through 2 Tru Entertainment. I’m actually at tha Kings Park Watertower in Kings Park, NY, on Long Island, and we’re doin’ this review live! We gon see how Zay did it for Trouble, here! Everything’s in my own opinion, here; whatever happens, happens! Start Time: 12:41 PM | End Time: 2:31 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Predator”
This tha kinda place where you might see a “predator,” right outside a water tower! >>> “Tryna get high?” I already preset that fa this! Rich Homie Quan? I’m, like, trippin’, but it sounds like him… But, this iz like an excited hook; really, like, predadating shit, here! I’m diggin’ tha mumblin’, here, and I know people criticize tha mumblin’ rap, right now, but I’m diggin’ it… Pretty consistent south; definitely diggin’ tha flow and tha voice, here! Great 1st verse and addictive hook ova this beat! Fuck “winter!” We don’t need it, but it iz easier to explore in tha “winter;” no bugs! Whoa! “Predator!” Dope shit, right there!! My Rating: 4.6

02. “Wet”
Well, it bein’ 87 degrees out, it’s far from “wet!” I don’t even think tha bed can handle this heat, so there won’t be any kinda moisture, here! >>> Sounds pretty nice; all tha shit that’s “wet!” “What did I tell ya;” killin’ it with tha “what did I tell ya!” LOL, OMG! “What did I…”—lol! Sounds like a great come-up from hustlin’ in tha streetz… At tha moment, you’re tha same age as me, but you’ll be a year older later on in tha year. Kinda like a Future and Rich Homie Quan blended into a blender! You know what? You can’t complain about it! I’m diggin’ this southern hustle right here! Luv when my “paint wet;” just got my car washed Thursday! Figured that pigeon’s listenin’, enjoyin’ tha 2nd verse, too… It sounds like this “bitch” buttered you with, like—you’re like all sticky to her and just, like, in her zone—in her zone!! My Rating: 4.4

03. “U Ain’t Street” feat. Bankroll Fresh & B Green
I’ono, I feel like this iz gonna be a nice song ta get high to! Like, look how trippy this, like, urbexing, graffiti, forest-lookin’ fuckin’ place looks! >>> Luv that Zaytove did all tha beats—Zaytoven! Really zonin’ to this beat! Twenty-one seconds in and not even any rappin’, yet? Really havin’ me zoned… Sounds pretty good on tha 1st verse… Yeah, “school” was a poor influence for me, meaning, it did nothin’ as far as peers! But, look what it did to my brain: two brainz!! Really diggin’ this…! You know what, I’m not gonna bitch about tha “money;” it just sounds great. Tha 2nd verse iz soundin’ good; thought a pigeon was gonna shit on me… “Sellin’ yo patna, doe;” “doe!” Bad… Luv it—luv tha verse, that iz! Definitely a catchy 2nd verse, right here! A “dirty bird”—“fly like a dirty bird!” Yeah, shout out ta “KLC;” his birthday was only three dayz ago! Why they “hate” you? Tell me, “Why they hate you?” “Why they hate you?!” Nice and slow, right here! My Rating: 4.2

04. “To Me” feat. Judo
I dunno why, but I’m thinkin’ Judy-related ‘cause of tha feature name but we shall see what happens… >>> It sounds like Turok for Nintendo 64 with tha beat intro, here! It sounds like good, like, business and trappin’ music… Pretty good hook; beat’s definitely on point! Ooh, “a whole gallon of wood?” They walk with a “camel toe!” Definitely feelin’ this, like, really southern voice! Definitely catchin’ on early, and I’m catchin’ on early, I know it! All right, 2nd verse iz startin’ off… That’s, like, every day, now… Yeah, tha “time’s” actually passin’, as I’m climbin’ tha watertower! Still pretty nice… I thought this turned out ta be great, overall. My Rating: 4.3

05. “Aiiight”
“Aiiight,” den! Let’s get into it, den! Leggo! >>> True confidence in here! You sound very brave on this hook; “aiiight!” You know what? This nice and smooth… Gotta “pull up” like a boss! Sounds like a good, catchy 1st verse… For tha 2nd verse, not gonna let a muthafucka get to ya! Not even a fatherfucka! Yup, they can “suck my dick;” that’s what you’re sayin’! Tha rest of this sounds good—random/good, at tha same time… My Rating: 4.1

06. “Don’t Panic” feat. Bankroll Fresh
Aight, if you say so… >>> Sounds nice and winter-y, but, like, confident-nice… Nice for darkness! “Get old like [a] damn granny!” LOL, “eat her up like a damn sandwich!” Yeah, “dope addicts…” I mean, it claimed my brother… You know, it sounds really catchy. You got a lil’ bit of Young Bleed in you! “Get old like [your fuckin’] granny!” LMAO!! Yeah, it’s all about succeedin’ on tha start of tha 2nd verse! Definitely appreciate it! So much to boost tha mood! Yup, “got it out tha mud!” You know, who would’ve thought it takes years…! “Say she get old like my damn granny (oh!)!” “Get old like [tha damn] granny!” My Rating: 4.6

½time: I have to say, this iz definitely product right here!! Tha quality iz in this southern release! Zay definitely did it on this one fa Trouble, and I definitely feel how you comin’ through wit it! You got an interesting voice, a flow, like a Future, Rich Homie Quan, Young Bleed! That’s a nice lil’ interesting mix! Hope you were influenced by them! All tha ratings combined gives you a 4.4! You know, that’s, like, a really good rating! You’re up for five stars; it could happen! I dunno… I’ve yet to climb this watertower; will I do it? We shall find out! But for now, let’s get into tha 2nd ½, right chea!!

07. “Don’t Give Up”
I hope tha media neva gave “up” on me because as busy as I am, I still keep it consistent! Like, looka, we shootin’ a live review in a fuckin’ watertower! All right—aiiight?! >>> Keepin’ that “oh” sample goin’… Kinda sounds like a simple lil’ hook; I can fuck wit it a lil’ bit… How ‘bout this for a stripper pole that I see? Soundin’ good on tha 1st verse; really feelin’ you… Almost sounded like Gucci at tha end with, “Yeah…” You know, Zay doin’ tha damn thing with that kick! Yeah, it’s all about provin’ yourself on tha 2nd verse! I’m bein’ brave by climbin’ this watertower! It’ll get harder and harder with each song review! I thought this was pretty catchy, overall… My Rating: 4.0

08. “Shit Crazy” feat. YFN Lucci
I’m very anticipated fa this…! Lookin’ at this watertower ladder right chea! Ugh, this ladder I’m on sucks! >>> I’ono about this voice…; kinda shitty? Even on tha 1st verse; can’t really tolerate it that much… Tha hook’s a lil’ catchy, but I can’t tolerate tha voice effect and shit. Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ betta, here… “Fuck tha penitentiary,” unless it’s abandoned! My Rating: 3.7

09. “U Don’t Know”
I really “don’t know” what to expect at this point, so here we go… >>> #ZayDidIt! This soundin’ darker… It’s a simple kinda hook for me, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse…; It’s kinda… I’ono what ta say… Fuckin’ watertowers “and shit!” “Fuck” tha “shit;” “fuck” it! “Fuck it!” Tha 2nd verse, here we go… “Why do you envy [him]?” It iz weird, I can see ‘em jiggin’ ta this fa some reason… My Rating: 3.8

10. “Remember Da Time”
Definitely gonna “remember [this] time!” >>> Beat sounds pretty good… “Imagine” me just, like, dreamin’ of travelin’ with bein’ inside this watertower! Regular-soundin’ hook; decent-soundin’ 1st verse… I dunno, kinda random fa this, so far… Tha 2nd verse sounds okay, here… Just starin’ at that ladder to tha top! My Rating: 3.6

11. “We Made It” feat. Big Bank Black
This gon be a quickie… Makin’ our way up there faster than I thought! >>> LOL, “Zaytoven!” Pretty breezy, ova here… Sounds like anotha simple lil’ hook, right here… Sounds good on tha 1st verse, here… Them Zay keys are goin’! A lil’ bit of Yo Gotti soundin’, lol? Tha Quan-catchin’-soundin’ 2nd verse, right chea! My Rating: 3.5

12. “Ready”
Oh, produced by Shawty Fresh, instead… Ehh, one day, I’ll be “ready” ta—maybe if I’m not doin’ so much filmin’ at once, I’ll go up there [tha watertower]… >>> Sounds like a slow trappin’, like a regular ol’ trappin’ hook… Gangsta shit right there on tha 1st verse… This iz, ta me, just regular rappin’ that err-body does… “Can’t remember [your] weekend?” Well, this one I definitely gon “remember!” What tha hell goin’ on there on tha start to tha 2nd verse? Tha 2nd verse a lil’ random, but it’s pickin’ up wit tha flow… My Rating: 3.7

Overall: It was a nice CD; definitely consistent production from Zaytoven. First half was pretty interesting that really caught my attention, and tha 2nd ½ was good, but it just seemed like, I’ono, it was like music you always hear from tha south. Similar content and, like, just a similar flow. And, nothin’ like dat caught me like tha 1st ½, but definitely great fa a live review fa someone I neva heard before, ya know? So, we just gon keep poppin’.
I have ta give you props fa bein’ a shitter! You know how it iz when you have so much shit on yo mind; just let it out via tha toilet!
