Review #1,629: Souljas Of Sorrow "Buck 2 The Bang"

Reviewed on 2.05.2017 (Review #1,629)

Keepin’ tha reviewz goin’ in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon, my next one’s Souljas Of Sorrow Buck 2 The Bang, released in 1997 on Mobo Records & was produced by Mobo Joe / Mobo Productions! Even tho I’m excited to review this, I just wanna get this over with, as this CD has ‘ruined voodoo’ fa me, meaning that three years ago, some fake Skully Skull profile came at me on Facebook, lookin’ for this CD. Skully Skull iz one of tha members of Souljas Of Sorrow, who discovered me on Facebook, after I radio-edited their music, a few years ago… I gave tha Facebook profile tha CD, but they made some promises fa me and refused to make it happen! When I went to get a hold of Skully Skull through that profile, it wasn’t him; it was someone jealous of me! In tha end, even tho I’m workin’ six dayz a week, I have an upcoming reality show episode comin’ up about tha incident… Tha thing that sux iz that when that fake profile hit me up, it was before I was hangin’ out/shmokin’ all tha time, workin’ five dayz a week. Now, I work six dayz a week and have 20347204873204837204328 things to do, so it’s almost impossible for me to respond to tha real Skully Skull, on Facebook… Start Time: 3:51 PM | End Time: 4:39 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Hurt No More”
>>> Diggin’ tha beat, here, comin’ through wit tha heat! Tha hook’s pretty jammin’, refusin’ to “hurt!” Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope; luvin’ tha southern flow, here! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s dope, as well! My Rating: 4.4

02. “Deathwish”
>>> Sounds good wit this hot G-Funk beat, here! Gotta luv that tha “conscious iz killin’” them, here, on tha hook; dope shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope; good shit spit, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty dope, here, keepin’ it goin’… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and I’m diggin’ more of this paranoid-type rappin’, here! Gotta luv what y’all bring to tha table! My Rating: 4.6

03. “City Streets”
>>> Dope beat, once again; dope-soundin’ hook, here, wit y’all signature style! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope, of course! Just luv these southern rhymes wit this crazy-soundin’ flow, in tha voice! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, here, as y’all rumble to get through this; diggin’ it… Err-thang y’all spit’s real catchy and can’t be denied, here! Who don’t luv this? My Rating: 4.5

04. “Shells Laying On The Path”
>>> Diggin’ tha beat, here; nice and funky! Also, that quote in tha beginning: “A coward dies a thousand deaths; a soulja dies just once.” At first, I thought that quote was from tha late Twelve A’Klok, but hearin’ this in ’97, where could it be from…? Either way, dope way to begin this! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and I’m diggin’ tha intense beat sound, here! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s soundin’ catchy as hell wit how these “shells” are “laying on the path,” here; dope shit! Y’all make catchy-ass street music; can’t deny tha sound!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and tha beat’s soundin’ catchier with tha beat sound, in tha background! Dope shit bein’ spit, here; can’t deny it! My Rating: 4.6

05. “Point Of No Return”
>>> Anotha sweet-soundin’ beat, here; dope shit fa tha undaground! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and tha flow/rhymes are fuckin’ tight/on point!! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty dope! Lots of shit from this CD comin’ outta left field, randomly, and it’s soundin’ so pure!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty dope; fuckin’ can’t deny tha flow!! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s pretty dope, too! What else can I say about y’all holdin’ down these beats in a crazy way?! A long beat outro, here, but it knocks!! My Rating: 4.7

06. “Shell Shock”
>>> Luvin’ tha way y’all sound while rappin’!! What a catchy-ass hook that’s only about gettin’ shell shocked, lol! All it can say iz, “Shell shock, shell shock, shell shock, shell shock…,” and it’s tight as fuck! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope; what else can I fuckin’ say, lol? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and there’s crazy rhymes bein’ spit, here! Gotta luv gettin’ lost in tha hook, as it continuously hits you wit tha, “Shell shock, shell shock, shell shock, shell shock; shell shock, shell shock, shell shock, shell shock…!!” Anotha long beat outro, here, but it makes it for its quality! My Rating: 4.5

07. “Face Down”
>>> Anotha eerie-soundin’ beat, here; gotta luv it! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope; a gangsta-soundin’ track, tha way I love it! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s all about tha “face” bein’ “down” on tha ground, here; fuckin’ dope!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s a different member, here? Almost feel like I’ve been so used to that “yeah, yeah/yup, yup”-soundin’ dude, lol… But, it’s a dope verse, regardless! My Rating: 4.4

½time: This CD’s very consistent and fulla some top-notch production fa tha undaground, here! Tha flows and rhymes are unbelievably hot—can’t be denied!! A 4.5-rated CD, so far; let’s continue!!

08. “Souljas Of Sorrow (Interlude)”
>>> Even with just an interlude, y’all still kill it! Tha beat’s pretty nice, as if it was a slowed-down, gangsta version of a bounce beat! Oh, some rappin’, here! Almost thought it was just an interlude… Diggin’ tha beginning wit tha usual, “Yup, yup/yeah, yeah!” And, tha beat becomes at an eerie peak during tha last five seconds!! Dope!! My Rating: 4.3

09. “Picture Of A Murder”
>>> Diggin’ this beat and tha sounds that are goin’ through it… I swear, this would be tha go-to CD to listen to while fucked up! Definitely sounds like it! I feel like I can pull 3D visions outta it, in that zone! Tha hook’s pretty nice; dope shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty catchy, here! A slower-soundin’ flow but that catchy-ass flow in tha voice iz still here! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and I’m diggin’ this spooky-soundin’ rappin’, here; definitely a dope track! My Rating: 4.4

10. “Trails Of Tears”
>>> A nice, lil’ slower one, here, wit tha production and flow… Shit sounds nice and dark, on tha hook! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope wit tha lyrics y’all spittin’! Gotta pay attention to err-thang!! Flow and lyrics are to tha max, here!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and y’all keepin’ this shit goin’! Can’t deny it! My Rating: 4.3

11. “Listen To The Sound Of My Glock”
>>> A faded-in intro? Still, luvin’ tha dark-soundin’ beat and tha hook! “Listen to thee sound of me glock-glock;” fuckin’ dope!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope! Y’all got tha rhymes and that crazy-ass flow on lock, here! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s a dope verse, here; gotta luv it! Lol @ tha line, “Niggas be shittin’ they paaaaaants!” Like, what are y’all on while y’all rappin’? Shit’s amazin’!! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s soundin’ like a dope verse, as well! Gotta keep it eerie, trill, dark, intense & southern at all times!! My Rating: 4.7

12. “Buck To The Bang”
>>> Funky beat start for tha south, here, as well as tha hook soundin’ catchy… Diggin’ tha keys goin’ through tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ nice… Hearin’ tha rappin’ on tha 1st verse and, of course, tha flow’s at a 100, here! Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here, and it’s soundin’ eerie/intense! Gotta luv it! Y’all really goin’ off on this shit, right chea! And, tha 3rd verse’s soundin’ dope, here; gotta keep it movin’! My Rating: 4.6

13. “Naturality”
>>> We got echoin’ in tha beginning, here, ova this nice-soundin’ beat intro… Nice beat goin’ on, here, as well as tha 1st verse! Definitely sounds like y’all livin’ through tha gangsta life, in a paranoid way! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s soundin’ aight; almost sounds like distant rappin’? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice; catchy shit, here… Great job wit tha 3rd verse, as well; not a soft spot on this CD!! My Rating: 4.4
