Review #114: Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I. "On The Inside Looking Out"

Reviewed on 9.08.2008 & 9.12.2008 (Review No. 114)

Watz good it's ya boy Frankie here… It's that time again! Time for anotha review from me! It's only 11:02 AM right now and I'm in tha middle of a 4 hour break from my current college, Marywood University. I'm now gonna review Dizzy's CD FINALLY (been waiting for Ally B (at Crescent City Radio) to have a show so I could do this tha same day she has a show). I bought tha CD 2 weeks ago today for a dollar (it's now $10) on Dizzy's website, http://www.rawdizzy.com. I'm gonna review it right after I write Young Ready (from Baton Rouge, who iz locked up right now) a letter (I printed out tha review I did for him and his "Junky Medicine (The Cocaine Edition)" mixtape last month) as I found out tha details by tryin' to send him a message on Myspace. *Writes letter* Aight I'm finished and now ready for my review for Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I. "On The Inside Looking Out", for my girl Ally B, P.C.O. Entertainment and (of course) you Dizzy. Start Time: 11:33 AM | Video Game Playing: Secret Of Mana (for Super Nintendo) (on my computer)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. "Grand Closing"
Iz this an intro or an intro track? Dyin' to find out and hearin' this whole CD!! >>> Yeah it's an intro track bein' 4 minutes, 48 seconds long!! Yeah you definitely "builded from tha ground up" as that was your last CD (wit tha "Myspace" song that was tight). Tha beat iz definitely tight and I like how it stayed tha same for a minute and a ½, as it now started to kick in more at around 1:35. Even though you "dropped outta school," at least you did it "for these protools." Good shit and great rhymin' throughout this shit! I'm glad you're gonna let us "know tha truth like a blood test;" that's another GREAT line. This iz DEFINITELY a great way to start this "what's gonna be" HOT CD off! DEFINITELY worth my 4 minutes and 48 seconds of listening! My Rating: 4.6

02. "However"
That was tha "grand closing". "However", "However" iz up next. What to expect… Let's hear tha message! >>> Feelin' those *imitates The Ting Tings for a second* "drums, tha drums, tha drums, tha drums" in tha beginning. Now tha beat kicked in at about :38 and sounds good. Good hook too. Really feelin' tha rhymes and tha 2nd verse iz just as good! Really feelin' this! Forgot to mention tha GREAT length on tha song too: 4:38! Yeah you'll "neva be a hoe." You ALWAYS keep it real out there in Louisiana! Wait 'til we get to "Sit Still". I got a lot of shit to get off my chest about that song! My Rating: 4.3

03. "Sit Still" Feat. Stevie Drumma
And here we are! So what do I have to get off my chest about this song? Well, I'm VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY ASHAMED that BOTH Music Choice Rap and MTV Jams IGNORED/ARE IGNORING this song!! You don't know HOW HOT this song has been for tha past… however long it has been out (I've known it since Late May 2008)!!! Music Choice Rap should really be ashamed as I first HEARD about you (unexpectedly) in Summer 2005 on Music Choice Rap wit tha song "1,000 Miles To Downtown" (really liked tha combination of southern + tha sample) and now they're ignoring "Sit Still"? What's wrong wit them AND MTV Jams??? At least I have an ear that can HEAR what's hot and this song caught my attention in an OBSESSIVE way that I had played it approximately 25-30 times one day when I had first got it. This was tha 1st BRAND NEW song I heard on Crescent City Radio wit Alex McConduit (and thanx to him, I got tha ID of what tha song/artist was). Tha beat iz just… great and somethin' about Stevie Drumma's voice that makes this joint real good. At :45, when it did that "when I—when I'm wit my crew…" part, I always thought for a second that when I downloaded it from your Myspace, I thought it was a part of a mixshow but no, it was a part of tha song. I like that a lot. On tha 2nd verse, I always really liked tha "I'm puffin' on tha 'gar" line (especially sayin' "'gar" instead of "cigar"). That was real cool. I don't know why my sources are ignoring this song… It's SOOOO mainstream style wit a real cool feel. Always love it. If it don't get exposure on my sources, you can call this world "fucked up" 'cause that's what it iz when it comes to tha mainstream. Oh yeah I really really like tha video to this joint a lot too. It's REAL good. My Current Rating: 5.0

04. "Yeah Bitch (Remix)" Feat. Lil' Wayne
Glad you holla'd at Weezy for a track/remix (or iz it a sample?). Because of Wayne, I got anticipation and I'm REAL GLAD to hear a lot of you finally!! >>> Yeah Lil' Wayne wit his usual "remix ba-by" parts but now that I heard you on tha hook, it sounded better. Great beat again! Good thing tha song iz 4 minutes, 44 seconds! I'm glad you make your songs long and not on some 3 minutes flat shit. Great 1st verse and feelin' this shit right here! Glad it's another club banger. Glad Lil' Wayne's "flyer than a falcon." Speakin' of tha falcons, tha Lackawanna Falcons (who I rep and be tha waterboy for at tha home games) did they thang yesterday as they won 42-8 on tha football game! Also, I'm glad "pussy" iz your "appetite" Weezy. That's tha way to get you craving, ya dig. I don't think you're gonna "die from a knife or a bullet." I think you're gonna die from… … … why tha fuck should I predict somethin'? No need to 'cause you gon be here for a REAL, REAL LONG TIME, ya dig! My Rating: 4.3

05. "Dick Riders"
Gotta respect tha title. I gotta hear what you got to say on it before I start leavin' feedback. >>> Good start. Sounds like I heard on Crescent City Radio not too long ago 'cause of that "Some Cut" sounding beat. You almost sounded like Meek Mill (from Philly) in tha beginning. I'm feelin' tha hook. Fuck tha "dick riders". No wonder why my dad NEVA stays in Pennsylvania (or at least to sleep over wit us). 'Cause he has to be home for his "now" wife all tha time… Can't even spare time OR money ON TIME. SMH… It's like I still didn't get my birthday or graduation present and I graduated my 2 year college May 18th and my birthday was June 21st. He does more for his wife and "not official" kids than myself and my brother. I like tha message to this joint though. My Rating: 3.8

06. "No Joking" Feat. The Show
If I don't write a lot, it's 'cause I'm eating my lunch (pizza) right now and I'm rushin' a lil' 'cause I gotta go back to college at 2. However, I do have lots of anticipation 'cause The Show iz featured!! >>> Feelin' tha old school feel and The Show startin' tha song off!!! He did a REAL good job. Oh I guess I heard this once before 'cause of you sayin' tha "this ain't a game, no Playstation" line. Yeah you DEFINITELY "no joke." Too bad people at Lackawanna College take me as a "joke". Why? 'Cause I don't play fuckin' football?? That's why I have SO MUCH LUV for tha music business. I do a lot more for tha music business instead!! Love tha song. Too bad I'm typing a shitty-ass 29 words per minute wit 1 hand instead of 94 (due to I don't eat wit my left hand). I type 94 words per minute wit 2 hands. My Rating: 4.6

07. "Groupies" Feat. Mannie Fresh
Lucky No. 7… What could it be? *Checks ID* Looks like another anticipated joint!! >>> I like tha violin in tha beginning. Ooh "she started kissin' where it tickled." Aren't you in love? That's hot shit. I like tha "she's not a groupie" parts. Great verse!! Glad to hear Mannie rappin'. Definitely a catchy joint right here! I like tha "I heard tha same thing 10,000,000 times" parts too. My Rating: 4.2

½time: Back to typin' 94 WPM finally! Anyway, of course, exactly what I expected: A HOT CD!! This iz REAL HOT and I'm glad I paid a dollar for it! Let's see how tha 2nd ½ gon turn out to be!!

08. "Touch Ya Toes" Feat. Marty Crack & C.O.
I don't know about this… Fat Joe had tha same song title wit Armand Van Helden & BL last year (house song) and it was wack (real disappointing to me 'cause I love when dance music combines wit rap music and they fucked that song up). Let's see how you and those other 2 dudes do on this… I expect good hopefully. >>> Good it's not gay. Tha beat goes hard and tha way that sample sounds sounds tight! First verse was real tight! You're on tha 2nd verse dawg and started off real good! Yeah! Great 2nd verse by you. Tha 3rd verse was good too, especially wit those Janet parts! My Rating: 4.4

09. "Put It On You" Feat. Monteco
Looks like anotha song for tha ladies. I predict a slow jammer. Let's hear it… >>> Good it's not gay AGAIN!! I thought it was gonna be some slow, disappointing, boring song (usually there's like at least one of those songs on nearly every album (and even mixtapes) I review). Tight hook! ANOTHA real tight beat!! Wow that singer iz GREAT wit how he delivers tha hook! I almost think I like this song better than tha last song but I'm gonna rate this tha same. This iz tha RIGHT song for a female. My Rating: 4.4

10. "Baleedatdere" Feat. Baby Boy & Skip
What's that title? I know tha last 2 words but what's tha 1st word mean? I predict ANOTHA song for tha ladies. And since Baby Boy iz on it, it should be REAL GOOD. And even Skip, so that's like extra ingredients. High anticipation!! >>> Good a faster vibe wit a REAL TIGHT electronic beat!! Each song keeps gettin' better during tha 2nd ½!! Oh so I heard how Baby Boy said that 1st word. "Balee" = "believe". I get it know. You DEFINITELY gotta "baleedat" this joint sounds hot! Glad you're on tha 1st verse, spittin' that hot shit about yourself throughout tha 1st verse! Wow this iz tha best beat on this CD so far (should I even say that 'cause there were TOO MANY HOT HOT beats)!!! Baby Boy has that GRIMY voice that just makes his verse sound REAL TIGHT! He went hard! Skip "holdin' his dick on a promo poster." I'm really feelin' tha attitude on this song from everyone! TIGHT SHIT!!! My Rating: 4.7

11. "What Happened To The Hood" Feat. Kangol Slim
Really feelin' tha title and this iz who I've been waiting for (I knew there was someone special also on this CD). This iz tha collab I've been waiting for so here goes my huge anticipation!! >>> Good tha longest song so far at 5 minutes, 22 seconds long. Another different style in tha beginning. I feel it so far. That must be Kango on tha hook. Pretty good. I neva could picture his voice (I first heard him on "Get Rite Juice", a song from Kane & Abel, him and tha other PNC member and 5th Ward Weebie, only knowin' 5th Ward Weebie. Mind my "bein' late wit knowin' who's who"). Good 1st verse by you Dizzy. Better 2nd verse from you on this. Another great 3rd verse too. Great song right here. I like tha shooting at tha end. My Rating: 4.0

Break: It's 12:52 PM. My mom wants me to get ready to go back to college (we gotta handle some more thangz, since I was only there since last Wednesday). I also gotta mail some shit (I'll prolly mail this to Alex McConduit to give to Ally B to give to you tomorrow). I'll be back at around 5:30 PM. >>> Aight I'm back a lil' early at 5:03 PM. I'm glad I'm gettin' back into this CD (almost finished)!!

12. "Get High" Feat. Mugsy
Okay tha title makes me have a lot of anticipation for it and for tha featured artist! Here we go…! >>> I like tha feel to this. Mugsy sounds good on his part during tha 1st verse. You did yo thang on tha 2nd verse. I was really really feelin' it. I liked tha ending but I was almost worried it was gonna cut off ('cause it sounded like tha verse was continuing) but it had a cold ending so everythang was alright. Good joint again wit a different feel from tha "get high" tracks that I really love. My Rating: 4.0

13. "Rhyme Kite"
Looks like it could be real interesting! >>> Real long length at 6 minutes, 2 seconds! There's a phone call in tha beginning. Great phone call. Tha beat iz real slow. So this iz "not a rap song, it's a 'rhyme kite'." Maybe a good song but not my type so no high rating from me. That singin' went way too long at tha end. Great rhymes though and good phone call again at tha end. My Rating: 3.5

14. "Change" Feat. Cupid
What Cupid iz this? Let's see what this song'll be like. >>> It iz that same Cupid from "Cupid Shuffle". LOL… Odd combo? Great rhymes on tha 1st verse, including tha "smoke weed" line. This song iz slightly better than tha last song for me. This sounds like a great mainstream single. If "Sit Still" was promoted tha right way (where it would be all over my sources), this could be tha follow-up. I don't think Cupid should've had tha bridge. You should've had a 3rd verse instead. My Rating: 3.6

15. "I Love 'Em"
Okay this song didn't extract for me (and I paid, smh). I'm gonna try again and see what happens… *Attemps to extract it* It said "the file is corrupt." Okay next I'm gonna see if it's on your player on your website (under "preview the new album now!" part). *Checks* Nah, it's just a bunch of samples from tha album (I need tha whole song). Now I'm gonna try your "Myspace". *Checks* Nope, just "Sit Still" iz there. Now I'll try googlin' it. *Attempts* Shit, nothin'. Oh well. I'll have to delay tha waiting to send to Ally B in tha mail 'til I hear this. Then I'll come back wit tha "edit" and review this song (if anyone posts it or plays it somewhere).
EDIT: It's Friday (yup, it took a long 4 dayz) but I think I told Ally B to give my e-mail to someone and they e-mailed me it!!!! I don't care if I give this a 1.0 rating, I'M JUST GLAD I CAN FINISH THA REVIEW!!!!! Now then, onto tha song! >>> Decent start so far but I guess it goes wit those other "ending songs" on this CD. I liked tha line about Weezy. I like tha style of this for a different sounding song. Good 2nd verse right there. I really like you rappin' no matter what song it iz. You're tha shit and I hope you keep puttin' out these HOT CDs and music! My Rating: 3.8

Overall: End Time: 5:42 PM/9.12.2008 @ 8:01 PM. DEFINITELY a VERY GOOD album! Even though 13 & 14 weren't exactly my type, at least those songs were for tha people that like tha lyrics a lot! I'm glad you had them at tha end and had all tha songs that I really really felt in tha beginning/middle! Keep doin' yo thang Dizzy and I hope you like this review!!
