Review #1,032: MC Dice "Down For My Crown"

Reviewed on 7.12.2011 (Review #1,032)

This next review in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon iz MC Dice “Down For My Crown; let’s see how it turns out! Start Time: 11:43 AM | End Time: 12:10 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Intro
What can I expect? Prolly somethin’ good and gangsta, ya dig? >>> Started like it was nothin’, lol! Thumbs up fa makin’ this sound like some horror movie; luv it!! My Rating: N/A

02. “Dice Is Back”
Let’s hear it! >>> Not sure what year this CD really iz: I found it as ’97; mp3 info says ’96; I found ’95 on a site on Google? Anyway, good shit goin’ on here wit tha beat and you sound like a unique rapper wit tha way you deliver shit wit your voice and consistency! Tha hook sounds catchy as fuck wit tha female singin’; whoo, talk about hotness! My Rating: 4.5

03. “Today”
>>> LOL, sounds like you’re wakin’ up; good sound effects—lol, I was right about tha “wakin’ up,” lol! Tha lyrics are good, here; sounds like your version of Ice Cube’s “It Was A Good Day”, Southern style. My Rating: 4.1

04. “All In”
>>> Sounds good; gangsta shit goin’ on, here! “Fa tha ’95;” guess it’s officially ’95. Too bad I didn’t double-check some of these albums’s years; I feel bad fa reviewin’ ‘em in tha wrong time but at least I’m reviewin’ it now. This ain’t too bad wit what’s goin’ on; an okay song… My Rating: 3.8

05. “Growing Up”
>>> I like tha way this song sounds wit tha beat, tha female in tha background, and how you’re deliverin’ tha rhymes, here; nice lyrics fa tha hood, once again. My Rating: 4.0

06. “Roberman II”
>>> Anotha good-soundin’, spooky beat, here! Tha hook sounds catchy; this whole song has an interestin’ lifestyle goin’ on. My Rating: 4.2

07. “ELP”
Wonder what these letters are. >>> Anotha nice beat you got goin’ on… Rhymes are soundin’ pretty nice; consistent rappin’ dat I’m likin’! Tha hook’s pretty interestin’ wit tha title and tha lyrics you’re spittin’; gotta feel this pureness! My Rating: 4.1

08. “Bring It Back”
>>> Likin’ tha dialect in tha intro; good shit dat I’m anticipatin’! Beat sounds like kick-ass @ :14!!! I like tha real-life lyrics, here, wit tha “waitin’ for school” and “playin’ basketball;” gotta luv this type of shit, ya dig? Makes me think of sunset/a nice, orange setting! Tha hook’s pretty catchy; Louisiana fa life!! My Rating: 4.3

½time: A 4.1-rated CD, currently; nice job wit this shit, here!

09. “Tear It Up”
>>> Nice intro… Oh, a short length; iz this a skit? Oh no, it was an intro; glad you’re rappin’, here! Nice job wit tha flow and tha focused rappin’; kickin’ ass wit these rhymes, bruh! My Rating: 4.3

10. “Loaded Nigga”
I think I gon like dis one! >>> Tha beat’s good; this sounds like an aight song, overall… Tha hook sounds good; expected a lil’ betta fa a smokin’ song although I’m enjoyin’ tha chokin’ on tha hook, lol! Now dat I’m up to tha 2nd verse, this iz startin’ ta sound like a jam! Sounds like a great song ta ride to! My Rating: 4.4

11. “G.W.P.”
>>> Sounds like a good, Louisiana-type song fa tha ‘90s. Rhymes are pretty consistent; keep ‘em comin’! My Rating: 3.9

12. “D.F.M.C.”
Anotha letter song, lol. >>> Sounds like a good beat ta jam to… LOL, I thought tha letters were gonna represent tha “Down For My Crown” shit but—oh wait, an “E” in tha title, based off tha mp3 info? Should it be an “F”? It should be labeled as “D.F.M.C.”, not “D.E.M.C.”… Rhymes are pretty hot, here; good shit, includin’ dat you held it down fa a nice 4:25! My Rating: 4.1

13. “D M H Os”
LOL @ tha letters again! >>> Iz tha “H O” part two different letters or “ho’s”? Also, now, instead of an “A”, there’s an “M”? An okay, catchy song fa tha “dog-ass hoes,” lol; nice job from tha mysterious female, too! You luv and hate these “dog-ass hoes,” lol! My Rating: 3.8

14. “Special Man II”
>>> Fits good wit tha other songs, too; not much ta say but it’s a good/decent song. Tha hook sounds catchy wit tha “gotta make dat money” shit. My Rating: 3.8

15. “Lunatic”
Looks like a good title… >>> Nice intro from tha lady… Ooh, I’m likin’ this style; great-soundin’ beat and tha panicked flow! Great lyrics, too; tha hook’s pretty nice wit tha “somethin’s ‘bout ta take ova my mind and soul” line! My Rating: 4.3

16. “Nation Wide”
>>> I like tha rappin’ and lyrics, here; good shit fa tha nite time! My Rating: 4.1

17. “Outro”
Wit 3:07 on tha length, will it be a song? >>> Ooh, it iz; glad you’re rappin’, here. Tha rappin’ sounds pretty consistent and tha beat ain’t too bad… Multiple people on here? Who iz everyone? They all sound pretty good and different wit their good voices and shit they’re offerin’. Who in tha hell iz tha Jamaican dude? My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Nice CD, here! Even though I didn’t have much feedback, at times, you kept it consistent wit no wack songs!
