Watz good it’s Frankie, back wit another review. Yesterday I did a VERY GOOD review (Promo Only Dance Radio April 2008), and now, on tha urban side of thangz, another really good (predicted) review to do. This iz my review for Max Minelli "Max Pain 2 (The Rise Of Max Pain)". We’ll see how lucky I am wit reviewing this. Max should feel real lucky right now ’cause 7 years ago on this date, at 2:45 PM, after staying after class to finish an English test in 7th grade, I went to tha Amoco gas station wit my mom by my 2nd middle school (which was on Long Island), and I bought $13 in lottery tickets. One ticket I bought, High Roller, looked like it was at tha end of tha roll. I asked tha guy "what number iz that ticket?" and he said "No. 004." Due to it was near tha end (which I had a theory that if it’s near tha end or beginning, a big winner iz near), I bought all 4 of ’em. On Ticket No. 003, I won $200. I was so fuckin’ happy at tha time (especially since I was only 12 years old)!!! Start Time: 10:39 PM | Video Game Playing: Super Mario RPG (for Super Nintendo) (on my computer)
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. "My Boy" Feat. Reno
Lemme pull up tha production credits real quick… Aight props to Savage for originally posting tha tracklisting & credits a while back (March 10, 2008) on tha Word Of South board. This first joint iz produced by Savage himself, so DEFINITELY got a VERY HIGH AL (anticipation level) for this. Tha title can be good for a song and this has a feature on it. Expectin’ a real good start!! >>> Didn’t expect that lil’ rockish beat in tha beginning. Soundin’ pretty good so far. Pretty good verse. I dig it. Tha hook iz decent for me so far. I might like it better later. Savage did a REAL NICE job on tha beat to tha hook! I definitely am feelin’ tha way Max Minelli says tha shit he says. Good job on Reno’s part. Gotta love tha Louisiana shit. It’s currently my favorite place for music, ya dig! My Rating: 4.3
02. "B.R. The Movie"
Okay on tha switch up for tha production this time. This one iz produced by Happy Perez. By tha way, speaking of what I said about Louisiana at tha end of my review for "My Boy", that iz gonna play its part for this song right here! I have a VERY HIGH AL on this too (how rare that it’s twice in a row)!! That’s a real good title (especially to put your city life into a movie)! Let’s see how much I like it!! >>> Sorry Savage, but I think this iz a slightly better beat. I like all those "B.R." acronyms. "Baton Rouge, been raw, been real; been retarded, boss rap…" REAL GOOD, and REAL GOOD hook!!! Yeah Max, it’s all about "Pyrex Radio." I like this song better than tha "My Boy" song on a first listen. My Rating: 4.5
03. "In The Trunk"
Also produced by Happy Perez. Let’s see if he has another one on his hands. I’m also dying to know what’s "in tha trunk"! High AL! >>> Beat intro reminds me a lil’ of Lil’ Jon & Tha East Side Boyz "Get Crunk" song. "I blow my nose and let it leak in tha streetz" Real nice line Max!! Oh so it’s a "want niggaz to be bumpin’ me in tha trunk" song. I thought it was gonna be somethin’ like "I got pounds in tha trunk." Not bad. Maybe it’ll grow on me in tha future. My Rating: 3.8
04. "Hard, So Hard"
This one iz produced by Lutenant. Since tha last song was more of "bumpin’ in tha trunk", I think this one iz gonna be more of a "goin’ thru stress" type of song. Lemme see… >>> Okay tha beat intro iz not so slow. Yeah go Max! This iz a "goin’ hard" type of song. I wanted it to be a type of song like this, so at least my prediction was wrong so I wasn’t over anticipated. Nice hook. Flowin’ sounds like Lil’ Wayne on this one. Everytime I hear Max, I’ll always think of his extreme passion for tha rap game. I can just tell by how much he compliments himself. Almost wasn’t gonna give it a 4.0 rating, but it’s very motivating, so I gotta give it tha props. My Rating: 4.0
05. "Move (Let Me In)" Feat. C-Loc
"Savage on tha beat!" Yeah!! Definitely a High AL for tha Savage beat and this looks like a club banger! >>> That lil’ intro part sounded like a different version of tha Savage beats intros. This iz definitely a better Savage beat this time. I really like it! VERY HOT club banger!!! Max sounds so fuckin’ good on a club banger! That FUCKIN’ Savage beat!!!!!!!!!! Nice hook, but even better when it keeps goin’ "move bitch…" Even C-Loc soundin’ good on this. This like a certified classic already. This should be a single ’cause its got tha potential fa’real (especially in Louisiana)! My Rating: 4.9
06. "Havin’ My Baby" Feat. Savage
Another Savage beat, and even Savage iz on this joint. I’m gonna try and resist bein’ anticipated for this. I wanna see what happens when I hear it… >>> I think Savage iz on tha hook. I didn’t like that beginning part where it was taken from Biggie. Good job on tha beat tho Savage ’cause I’m definitely feelin’ this "bounce music" type of feel definitely. Okay that beginning of tha hook sounds a lil’ better ’cause it sounds real nice wit that beat! I like that "break…her…muth…a…fuck…in’…back" line! Didn’t expect this to be a club banger, but definitely HOT shit!! This iz a different feel from tha previous club banger that I heard on here, so major props on Savage for changin’ tha style for tha club bangerz!! Yeah now that I’m hearin’ tha hook again at tha end, I feel that it’s mad catchy now, so props on Savage for that double dose of flava (wit tha beat and tha singin’)!! My Rating: 4.5
07. "The Anthem" Feat. Russell Lee
Produced by Happy Perez again. I was skimmin’ thru tha end of tha tracklisting, and ain’t Russell Lee a producer also? Lemme check real quick… Yeah I just skimmed and it looks like he produced tha last song. Takin’ tha Savage route I see… Well let’s see if Russell can follow up this consistancy. Tha title makes it sound like another club banger, so let’s see… >>> A video game type of start. Unexpected for me. Good hook, but it doesn’t fit for me for a Louisiana type of CD. Sounds very H-Townish. Props for bein’ fresh Max (as you say in tha beginning of tha 2nd verse)! This should’ve been called "Tha Smokin’ Anthem". That lil’ part could’ve made more sense, but yeah, I expected better for an "anthem", but that was pretty good tho. Can’t really complain about it. My Rating: 3.7
½time: Definitely some good shit here. Savage doin’ his thang wit them beatz man!! Lookin’ forward to wondering what tha 2nd ½ gon be like. Definitely puttin’ this shit on my iPod!
08. "Level Up"
That iz kinda what I’m doin’ right now in Super Mario RPG (since I’m playin’ it on my computer). This iz also produced by Happy Perez. I’m expectin’ to hear a better beat this time. >>> Yup tha beat iz better. I hope this does "level up" from tha previous song! "For tha real, not tha fake" Should be Max’s No. 1 quote. Yeah definitely feel that motivating hook. I’m glad someone finally made a song wit "level up" in it. Good job Max! I like all that shit that Max iz talkin’ about at tha end of tha 1st verse. Up, I just "leveled up" twice in a row in Super Mario RPG just now (lol). My Rating: 4.2
09. "Go Dumb" Feat. J-Von & A-One
Okay this gon be good. Tha looks of it looks real good, and it’s produced by Beatflippa. I have a feelin’ this "beatflippa" dude Beatflippa gon produce a beast! High AL! >>> Okay never mind shocking for this. I’m just aimin’ at a "humor" track. Definitely likin’ that "dumb da-dumb dumb" + that cheesy beat. It cracks me up a smile. J-Von doin’ his thang. Props to ya dawg. Slowly losin’ interest and gettin’ real tired inside (since I didn’t really get much sleep), but I’m still slowly enjoyin’ it also. My Rating: 3.8
10. "Drop" Feat. Savage
Okay back to tha double dose of Savage! Looks like another club banger, and just like Ashley Alexandria Dupré said, this iz "what we want". High AL on this one! >>> A good length @ 4:33. More of a smoother club banger unlike tha "hard" feel like Song No. 5. Wow I really like that "titties sittin’ right like a soldier" line (did I hear that right???)!!!! I can’t say much. This iz pretty good. Okay good Savage on tha 3rd verse. "Use my imagination to see through them draws" Nice one Savage! "I’m just tryna make a movie" That would be dope if you made (or were featured in) a movie. My Rating: 3.9
11. "Whiplash" Feat. Savage & Lil’ Junior
Savage, I’m real glad you’re close wit Max Minelli. You all over this bitch! That’s watz good! I think this song gon be better outta Songs 7-11! High AL again!! >>> Pretty good beat. Good 1st verse by Max. I’m startin’ to kinda get sick of these hooks that sound like tha Young Capone song "I’m Hot". Good 2nd verse too. Okay Lil’ Junior iz on tha 3rd verse… "She was wet like jelly" Good one Lil’ Junior. But yeah, this ain’t tha best outta Songs 7-11. My Rating: 3.7
12. "Hustle, Grind, Stack" Feat. Derty & Tank Jones
Hopefully this one looks like tha really good one. Both B-Real & Beatflippa on this beat. Let’s see how all this gon fusion too… >>> I really like tha hook, especially tha "WE GETTIN’ MONEY, BITCH!!!" Yeah Max, you "are Godzilla" (when it comes to lots of people in Louisiana). Tha 2nd verse iz definitely great. I’m not really sayin’ much for tha rest of this CD ’cause I’m EXTREMELY tired, and I’m tryin’ to finish this since it’s only 2 songs left! My Rating: 4.2
13. "I Ain’t Shit"
Gonna get into it real quick. Produced by Happy Perez). >>> Beat iz a lil’ too smooth for me. Nothin’ special so far. Tha verses I might like a lil’ better now. I like those "insert words here for a nigga" parts. My Rating: 3.6
14. "Lord Knows" Feat. Russell Lee
Russell Lee doin’ it double style on this joint. Let’s see how this gon end thingz off (damn I feel like I just started this thang off)! >>> 6:27? Looks like I won’t finish before 12:00 AM. I might not like this ’cause of tha slow piano beat. I hope I can stay awake, lol. Yeah definitely real good lyrics. This was nice and deep, but it’s not for me at all. My Rating: 2.7
Overall: End Time: 12:03 AM. Yeah definitely was feelin’ that mixtape, but tha 1st ½ was definitely better. To everyone I talked about on this review (mainly Max & Savage), keep doin’ yo thang!!
