Review #625: Charles F. Scott "Hardwood Classic"

Reviewed on 8.25.2010 (Review #625)

Slowly gettin’ thangz done… Got my 1st review of tha day up now: Charles F. Scott “Hardwood Classic! Start Time: 2:01 PM | End Time: 2:19 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Intro (Hardwood Classic)”
Let’s see how you gon start this off… >>> Not a good start; hate hearin’ duplicate beats. I should just say nothin’… Yea, don’t know what to say about okayness… My Rating: 3.5

02. “Never Breathe”
>>> Sounds like a Jay-Z or somethin’ beat but it doesn’t matter ‘cause it works good wit you here; pretty good rappin’… My Rating: 3.7

03. “Hustlers”
>>> What’s wit these New York-soundin’ beats? A lil’ unexpected here… Tha beginning of tha flow doesn’t sound that good; sounds talkative or somethin’… Okay for what it iz… My Rating: 3.4

04. “Miami Vice”
Kinda stereotypical for a title for me… >>> Damn, tha track turnt homosexual or somethin’ wit this Wayne beat, smh? I still don’t like this flow; why iz this 2:29 when tha others were shorter? My Rating: 2.6

½time: Just a lil’ below decent for me; 3.3 average CD rating… Tha flow iz a lil’ boring this time.

05. “Deadly Departed”
>>> Thought I heard this? Maybe it was someone else… I can’t take this shit that serious when tha beat iz a Pop beat. I don’t know what ta say… You’re a lil’ betta here wit tha flow and rappin’… My Rating: 3.3

06. “Ode 2 Houston”
>>> Sounds good wit a screwed voice… If only tha rappin’ was screwed a lil’ too… Anyway, this iz good. My Rating: 3.8

07. “Hustle Never Ends (Grinding)”
>>> Thought tha title would apply but I can’t take it serious on a New York-soundin’ beat that sounds like New York had it back in tha very Early 2000’s! This izn’t for me at all… My Rating: 2.9

08. “Party Never Ends”
Anotha title wit “never ends”, lol? >>> LOL, a much older-soundin’ beat? Different here… An okay song but a pretty good beat choice. My Rating: 3.5

09. “Grind Is Relentless”
>>> Aight beat from those ’06 times that don’t exist anymore… Just decent; what can I say? My Rating: 3.4

Overall: Okay. Nothin’ I’d be even close to die for. However, I did give your “Lyrical Slomber” a spin on my radio show.

Rankings:

09. “Miami Vice” 2.6
08. “Hustle Never Ends (Grinding)” 2.9
07. “Deadly Departed” 3.3

04. “Intro (Hardwood Classic)” 3.5
