Review #649: Lil' Sheppard "Baton Rouge (Hosted by DJ Wookee & Way 3000)"

Reviewed on 9.10.2010 (Review #649)

Next review iz Lil’ Sheppard “Baton Rouge (Hosted by DJ Wookee & Way 3000); I see DJ Wookee & Way 3000 showin’ you luv on here although that “Young Jeezy” shit in tha description kinda scares me… Start Time: 4:21 PM | End Time: 5:04 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Intro: Way 3000 & DJ Wookee Introduces Lil’ Sheppard
>>> Sounds good; mainly just Way 3000 here. My Rating: N/A

02. “What U Expect”
Why tha gay “Young Jeezy Sample” in tha ID? No homo? >>> Yea, like I’d die fa this; it’s okay but don’t brag about it… It’s pretty good for a song; tha beat’s pretty cool. My Rating: 3.9

03. “Click House Roll”
See, it’s betta when you have your name in parenthesis so it don’t look confusin’ like tha last review I did. >>> Okay, I’m likin’ this; DEFINITELY thumbs up fa rappin’ ‘bout tha “click house,” ya heard me?!? Tha whole song sounded good; glad it was on dat G-shit! My Rating: 4.4

04. “Lost My Mind”
>>> LOL, tha last two seconds of tha last song and tha first two seconds of this sounded tha same, like they were pasted twice, lol. This sounds good; I’m likin’ this, especially tha G-shit in tha hook! Nice job doin’ tha damn thang on this joint; DEFINITELY catchy! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Cus I Grind”
Keepin’ it goin’, it looks like! >>> Oh God, do I have ta hear Drake? Oh, was that ‘pose ta be tha end of tha last joint? Big Josh beat; I’m likin’ tha Mike Jones sample here on tha hook. Good verses; err-thang holdin’ it down here! My Rating: 4.3

06. “In My Zone” Feat. Lil’ Daddy & John John
Lemme hear what gon go down here… >>> Likin’ this beat start here! Tha hook’s cool here… Tha 1st verse sounds good as far as doin’ tha damn thang. Tha features were not bad too… My Rating: 4.2

07. “Call Me” Feat. K Harris
Why are you in tha feature again? WTF? >>> Kinda soft beat but K Harris holds tha hook down! Gotta luv tha “smoke a few” part! Pretty good song here… My Rating: 4.0

½time: Looks good for this CD; very consistent wit tha songs! A nice 4.2 average CD rating so far iz what you got!

08. Skit: Live Radio Interview (DJ Wookee & Way 3000)
Oh, this looks interestin’; lookin’ forward ta hearin’! >>> Shit, yea! My boy Way 3000 holdin’ it down here! You know I luv my boy Way 3000, just comin’ through wit dat Southern, Baton Rouge swag! I like that you’re on tha phone and now, DJ Wookee’s talkin’ ta you… I like how you answered DJ Wookee’s shit about “crime”; you spell his name wrong. My Rating: N/A

09. “Changed”
>>> Feelin’ this beat start. Good rappin’ in tha 1st verse here; you keepin’ it real to tha fullest here! Mo real shit bein’ spit in tha 2nd verse too; thumbs up! WTF’s goin’ on afta tha 2nd verse? Sounds like it’s snappin’ or somethin’? My Rating: 4.2

10. “Flippa” Feat. T-Do & BB
Why “BBAss” listed? :confused >>> Oh God, a gay hook! :td It’s not dat bad of a song but I can’t like dat hook ‘cause it’s a stereotype of soundin’ gay in my opinion! My Rating: 3.2

11. “Money, Money”
>>> Good beat. Why does this shit sound familiar? :confused I can’t take this that serious now… Oh, I just reviewed this; my bad fa tha short-term memory moment. My Current Rating: 3.5

12. Lil’ Sheppard Talks
Let’s see what you got ta say… >>> Yea, I’d definitely “buy tha music” if I was able to. I can just online but it would be nice in person! My Rating: N/A

13. “Materialistic”
>>> Why iz tha last few seconds repeated in tha beginning? Sounds pretty unanticipatin’ in tha beginning wit tha talkin’. Good lyrics here so I won’t dislike it too much… Tha hook’s kinda sour for me… What’s up wit tha random, unsourced feature on tha 2nd verse? My Rating: 3.1

14. “She A Bad Azz”
>>> Good/decent song. Tha production’s startin’ ta catch onta me; definitely catchy here! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Pretty good right here; betta than tha last one I reviewed; keep up tha grindin’…
