Review #301: Gangsta Gumbo Presents "Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 3: Point Of No Return (Hosted by 1st Degree)"

Reviewed on 9.04.2009 (Review #301)

It’s FrankieThaLuckyDog here, and THANK GOD I’m off of college today!! Too much, and no time for bu$ine$$... Anyway, I EXCLUSIVELY found this CD online before Jimmy told me about it, lol! I had ta look up Max Minelli on DatPiff, and all of a sudden, this CD came up. I was shocked, but realized it was uploaded tha same day I searched (2 dayz ago)! Comin’ up next on tha review list, right after #300, iz Jimmy The DJ’s new mixtape (under the Gangsta Gumbo name), “Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 3: Point Of No Return (Hosted by 1st Degree)”! I must have ta say: Everytime Jimmy puts out a mixtape, one of tha artists ALWAYS catches your attention! Tha 1st one, it was Dee-1 (where it STARTED my connection). Tha 2nd one, it was Nu$$ie (how his face was turned and shit). Now, it’s 1st Degree, how he stands out. Tha last “Gangsta Gumbo” was my 100th review, and now, this one luckily kicks off right where tha 300th one left off! I like how I saw that there’s 27 songs on here, ESPECIALLY tha mix of people! That’s a NICE “gumbo” pot right there, lol. Even though I LUVED tha last CD TO THA FULLEST, it had very lil’ mixin’, so this one iz back to tha mixin’ (thanx to DJ Chiszle)! I feel that this iz anotha advanced step for Jimmy The DJ, as he puttin’ out a DVD wit this, as well as tha R.I.P. Nu$$ie one too, so he makin’ moves! Really, who can’t doubt someone when people on Word Of South are makin’ topics about their work (e.g., tha Nu$$ie DVD)? I’m not gonna wait any longer, so here it iz: My review for Gangsta Gumbo Presents “Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 3: Point Of No Return (Hosted by 1st Degree)”!! A LOTTA pressure from tha last CD (since it won awards and shit wit me), so do tha damn thang again!!! Could this be earliest review eva? Plus, will it surpass tha (approximate) 13.5 record-setting pages in length from tha last one (as well as time—approximately 3:14 it took to review)? Start Time: 10:27 AM | End Time: 1:13 PM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. 1st Degree “Intro”
It’s somewhat hard to read what it says on tha back cover (‘cause tha text iz a lil’ small [I can see why], and it’s in a maroon type color). But, I’m able to read it, so, HERE GOES THA START TO THA MIXTAPE!!! >>> I like tha siren, tha mixin’, and his intro wit tha “gotta get dat money,” ESPECIALLY when it keeps mixin’ back ‘n’ forth! Yes, not just a talkin’ intro, but rappin’!! He doin’ his thang (once again), and he makes tha intro sound REAL nice!! Glad he mentioned tha “point of no return” part in tha hook ‘cause it goes PERFECT wit tha part of tha title of tha mixtape! Really feelin’ tha flow on tha intro here, and it’s REAL good wit tha lyrics & rappin’! EXTREMELY on tha hustlin’/motivational tip, and it’s REAL, REAL nice here!! Keep doin’ tha damn thang, my boy!! You KILLED tha intro right there!!! My Rating: 4.3

02. B.G. “Rather Die”
I couldn’t read who it was (‘cause it was so small), so I had ta check tha ID on DatPiff. I hate ta say this, but tha track #’s are screwed up on tha mp3 infos. It says this iz Track 11, when it’s 2. But, let’s see what ol’ boy doin’ wit this joint here; surprised he made it on here too! That’s a raw title. >>> Tha mixin’ somewhat confused me at first, but here’s tha song. Nice that he’s got some nice rhymes, and tha beat soundin’ GREAT on this one! I like tha Pac sample on tha hook, as well as how tha title iz repeated! Glad he “luvs his freedom;” anotha great motivational song here! I didn’t expect ta hear mixin’ at least a minute before it ended, but, tha 3rd verse iz here. Still soundin’ raw; ALWAYS comin’ through wit dat gangsta shit! My Rating: 4.2

03. 1st Degree “Crescent City Gangsta”
Shorter than tha intro, lol (by 8 seconds). Once again, it says Track 19 on tha mp3 info. He should do anotha BLOODY MURDA on this song too, lol!! >>> I like tha “full” shit in tha beginning. Nice “take notes” part; seems like I gon quote a lotta shit on here! Nice start to tha song, and tha hook iz NICE! Of course, I like dat title, especially when it’s said! Tha 2nd verse has NOTHIN’ but gangsta shit in it wit REAL street lyrics! Keep dis shit comin’ RAW!! I’m enjoyin’ tha gangsta theme wit this mixtape this time! My Rating: 4.3

04. C-Loc Feat. Lil’ Boosie “Boss”
Says Track 22 on tha mp3 info. Anyway, tha real title (I don’t know why there were 2 ID’s on tha CD itself, as tha dirty version was called “Stacks On Deck”). I gon re-review it while I’m hearin’ it… Nice mixin’ in tha beginning, as it transitioned perfectly into this song! Of course, Loc sounded pretty good in tha beginning, as well as tha hook bein’ catchy too. Boosie always comin’ through fresh, and unstoppable. I know one of tha songs on this CD iz missin’ (which I’ll describe dat later), and they always direct you to an Amazon.com link. I’m surprised this one made it ‘cause this song’s on Amazon. Anyway, Boosie kept it goin’ good, and Loc doin’ tha same, as “bills” don’t worry him! Nice job on tha 3rd verse; glad ta hear Loc this soon! My Current Rating: 4.1

05. Curren$y “Blown Away”
Says Track 23 on tha mp3 info. Haven’t seen him active since ’07, and I remember one of our first conversations, which consisted of his “My House” song wit Lil’ Wayne, where I thought tha song flopped everywhere else, but was a success wit me. Let’s see how he gon do wit this one… Hope it’s gangsta like tha otha songs! >>> Tha beat sounds weird/nice! So far, it tha least favorite start. Aight lyrics, somewhat decent flow, and not good hook. Tha hook sounds like a young person rather than someone my age. Tha 2nd verse iz a lil’ betta here. That beat and mixin’ iz just TOO nice! It just got louder at 1:54? I’m glad you (Jimmy) had nice success encounterin’ many of these people. That beat intro to tha next song maybe pretty good… My Rating: 3.4

06. Kevin Gates “My Block”
Say Track 24 on tha mp3 info. Ugh… Nu$$ie’s still alive music? I think I had this song a week before he died, and non-currented it while he was still alive/tha week he died. I HATED that intro part (which it luckily ain’t in here ‘cause of it bein’ mixed) wit tha loud-ass sound or whateva it iz. Plus, I take Akon out of tha ID ‘cause that really wasn’t him. I just thought it was pathetic that someone had to imitate a Pop/R&B/Techno artist (yes, he makes buku music wit 128+ BPM)! Hate ta review it, but I guess you should get credit as bein’ like tha only one that put it on a mixtape… >>> Tha GAYEST thing was that “ooooooooohhh” shit in tha hook; WTF!? Would’ve expected a way betta Gates song… Tha lyrics may be REAL nice, as well as tha beat ta go wit it, but I just can’t deal wit dat hook. It really crushes tha song; GAY-ASS FAKE vocals to tha fullest!!!!! Glad all dat mixin’ distracts me from hearin’ tha hook! Tha 2nd verse soundin’ nice, and I’m FEELIN’ tha slowed down at 2:08! My Current Rating: 2.5 (could’ve been like nearly 2.0 higher if that hook wasn’t on there!)

07. 1st Degree “Keep This Bitch Jumpin’”
Now this one followed tha last songs wit tha Track # mp3 info and iz 25. Anyway, I like dat title! Why does he have ta suffer tha 2:00 – 2:30 lengths? It all good though ‘cause he keeps it RAW at all times!! REALLY lookin’ forward ta this one!! >>> Interestin’ beat here, especially wit tha beginning mixin’! Tha beat iz DEFINITELY on sum TIGHT shit!! Glad he on sum original beats now!!! Feelin’ those rhymes ta mix in wit dis shit, as it’s TOO good!! So far, tha best song on here, so let’s “keep this bitch jumpin’,” lol! I think this tha 1st time I heard him say “club.” Tha hook was DEFINITELY nice!! Feelin’ tha club vibe this time, and tha 2nd verse goin’ strong too!! Nice “like suicide, you bring yo betta view ta life” (or whateva it was) part! My Rating: 4.5

08. Calliope Var Feat. Mr. Marcelo, Curren$y & Magnolia Chop “U Can Catch Me”
Look @ dis lineup!! Too bad it only 2:53 (and if you’re followin’, #26 on tha mp3 info; shouldn’t it revert soon since there’s 27 max songs?). Either way, should be a NICE hood anthem for New Orleans right here!! >>> I thought it was Nu$$ie in tha beginning when I heard it mix at tha end of tha last song. NICE start here, and I’m DEFINITELY feelin’ tha 2009 Bounce feel in tha beat, lol! Gotta luv tha “dunn-dunn-dunn-dunn” Bounce beat! GREAT hood rappin’ here on tha 1st verse, doin’ tha damn thang to tha max!! Luv tha “blowin’ on purp” shit; tight shit here! Tha hook here iz DEFINITELY nice too; great ½ singin’/rappin’! Tight shit, and tha 2nd verse iz soundin’ good too! Fuckin’ feelin’ these rhymes, as they mix GREAT wit tha uptempo beat here!!! Keep tha rhymes comin’, y’all!! Tha 3rd verse here (Curren$y), and here, he sounds betta! Glad he sounds faster on tha verse this time! Nice job wit dis joint right here! Not likin’ tha start to tha next song though… Not sure if it gon suffer. My Rating: 4.6

09. 1st Degree “When Will It End”
I know he should do tha damn thang. Speakin’ of “final” (‘cause it’s a part of tha mp3 filename), will this “finally” be tha end of tha mp3 info label errors (as this iz labeled Track 27)? I hope so… Odd dat it Baton Rouge on tha length this time (2:25), when he an N.O. reppa, lol. >>> Tha beat ain’t me, nor iz that female on tha hook, but unlike tha gayness in tha Gates hook, this at least has tha rapper rappin’ on it! Really liked tha words in tha hook, so that’s a plus! Pretty good lyrics here in tha 1st verse; nice job deliverin’ dis shit. I heard tha actual beginning of tha hook now, and it sounded like it blended in good. I like tha “finga on my glock/middle finga high” part in tha hook tha most. I don’t have much of a comment on tha 2nd verse though. Hate ta see bad thingz go on (even wit me writin’ that, I feel funny sayin’ that). My Rating: 3.5

10. Lil’ Boosie Feat. Young Jeezy & Webbie “Better Believe It”
DatPiff thought you were LATE, lol! This iz tha only missin’ song in tha folder (and tha Track # was right too, lol). LOL @ it only bein’ labeled as tha title on DatPiff… They took it out ‘cause it must be pretty big on Amazon.com now. It gay that they take tha song out tha folder ‘cause if it a review, I’m not able ta rate it or rate it fucked up. At least this one, I can go hear somewhere. Speakin’ of this song, got ta see it on MTV Jams today! Glad Baton Rouge gettin’ that exposure again! And I forgot ta tell you, but a lil’ ova 3 months ago (back in May), tha “Uh Oh” song by Derty & Lil’ Boosie hit Music Choice Hip-Hop And R&B (they played it like at least 5x total so far)! I thought that was NICE exposure, especially for a song that I thought would go nowhere (I heard Derty got signed ta Jive Records, so I guess that had ta do wit it). It’s weird that they got it, and not Music Choice Rap. Anyway, I guess I gon have ta review it via YouTube! >>> I don’t really consider mainstream songs on my playlist these dayz. I do like dat hook (and tha voice on it) as well as tha beat! Glad he got da voice still, and still doin’ tha damn thang wit tha rappin’! Always feelin’ tha rhymes from him and his style! Jeezy a lil’ too mainstreamy for my words at tha moment… His verse sounded real mainstreamy. He might’ve sounded good for this song, but it should’ve had a new Louisiana person on it! Webbie at least has dat TIGHT shit in his voice, as well as tha way he spittin’ his part! Glad he put “Baton Rouge” in his verse! GREAT job from him, includin’ everything he said! My Current Rating: 4.1

11. 1st Degree “I’m Amazing”
Not sure if I’ll go for tha title… Tha mp3 infos are still screwed up (now, this one says Track 3; I guess it’ll follow wit tha next 16 songs, minus #10?). >>> LOL, they kept like 1.5 seconds of tha “Better Believe It” in tha beginning! Oh, he’s doin’ his thang on tha Kanye beat; maybe this’ll be good this time too! Feelin’ how he sings and shit on this too; catchy shit! Feelin’ tha rhymes in tha 1st verse wit tha “dead bodies” part; soundin’ like bound ta do a REAL NICE job wit tha rappin’ here! Finally, he gets dat extra minute in tha song (3:25 on tha length)! Nice “heart racin’” part. This iz DEFINITELY a nice piece of catchiness here! Did he say “get like a frog and rip it?” That sounded GREAT, and you KNOW I luv my frogs! Iz that what I think it iz at tha end of this (EDIT: I thought tha beat sounded like his “N.O.” song from tha last CD [a.k.a. on tha Shawty Lo “Dey Know” beat], but I KNOW Jimmy’s smart enough ta not put tha same song on 2 of his mixtapes back 2 back, lol)??? My Rating: 4.4

12. Birdman Feat. Lil’ Wayne, Rick Ross & Young Jeezy “Always Strapped (Remix)”
Yea, this one’s labeled as Track 4 on tha mp3 info. If it follows ‘til tha end, I won’t say “this iz labeled as…” wit tha rest of tha songs (‘cause y’all basically get tha idea). This was a decent song as an original version, so I don’t see tha hype of remixin’ it on here… What’s wit tha 4:48 length on this mixtape too? Ain’t that 2 minutes TOO long, lol? >>> Sounds like wild mixin’ in tha beginning, lol. There’s a sample in tha beat this time (not sure what it iz at tha moment). Sounded good on tha 1st verse from Wayne, but that hook iz ehh (still tha same). Tha beat iz NICE, as well as tha uptemponess! Tha beat sample (I don’t know tha song) iz somethin’ like “Long Train Coming” or some shit like that. Can’t really comment on Ross; he ain’t really for me. I guess he was just randomly chucked into this. Same thing wit Jeezy; what’s up wit these non-Louisiana mainstream people? It’s like Britney Spears iz on here a lil’ too much. Jeezy sounded better than Ross. Birdman iz… aight wit his part. Great remix, but tha song iz just ehh for me. If this was 2007, I’d prolly HATE IT ta death ‘cause of tha way my 1st college’s people treated me; Wayne dickriders! My Rating: 3.2

13. A-Mar & Dyl “Till The Wheels Fall Off”
This iz tha length I don’t like (2:31) for these dudes! Anyway, hope they do it REAL BIG for a comeback song!! >>> LOL, I just LUVVVVVVV tha mixin’, lol!! I NEVA know what tha hell gon come up next!! That’s a NICE hook, as well as that GREAT beat too!! A-Mar lost his Boosie voice? He got a year older now. Still soundin’ REAL NICE (as always), includin’ those GREAT hood lyrics! A lil’ too distractin’ wit tha mixin’ at about 1:01 into it… He did a REAL NICE job on his part, and let’s see how Dyl gon spit it… Always comin’ through wit dat consistent “partner” shit (as he rolls GREAT wit A)! A new CD of theirs REALLY needs ta come out again REAL soon!! Tha “D Jackson, bring tha action on tha track” dude produced tha next song? Hope it ain’t who I think it iz for this mixtape… Either way, REAL nice song here!! My Rating: 4.4

½time: I thought I like climed a mountain ta get ta tha ½ point, lol! This mixtape soundin’ good. I mean, my ratings are pretty good, givin’ it an average CD rating currently of 4.0, so it ain’t too bad. I know this sounds strong ta throw my opinion in, but tha 2nd one was MUCH betta for a start! Hope that 4.0 can stay straight throughout tha rest of this!

14. Juvenile “Lil’ Hood Thang”
Ahh, that feels refreshin’ ta see this (instead of someone who I thought it was, who had buku boring songs—no offense)! Really lookin’ forward ta hearin’ how he does!! >>> LOL @ tha “call me Santa Claus” for a start! I hear a Bounce style in tha beat here (wit tha “dunn-dunn-dunn-dunn” sampled in tha background)! I like tha “anaconda” part. Nice job on tha 1st verse, and tha hook sounds pretty good. I thought it was gonna sound a lil’ different, but it aight. Featured singer on tha 2nd verse? Not just tha singer, but a rapper iz on tha 2nd verse? Decent lyrics from him. I hear Juvie again on tha 3rd verse, and I liked his “video-type” part. Nice lil’ song thrown in here. I’m still LOLin’ @ tha “Santa Claus” part! As he says, “dunn dunn dunn dunn, dunn dunn dunn dunn, here comes Santa “Juvie” Claus!!” My Rating: 3.9

15. 1st Degree “Operation Takeova”
It says “takeover” on tha cover, but I’m goin’ wit tha label this time. Looks like a REAL nice title!! Hope he does tha damn thang again!! >>> I like tha dry mix ending in tha beginning, lol. Pretty good beginning, but tha 1st verse sounds like it ready ta bite someone, lol (as it’s “off tha leash”)!! Great rhymes continuin’ right here, as he neva stops wit dis hood shit!! We had a GR8 Fall last year, as we were always on tha phone and shit; good times! What’s wit tha mixin’ into tha non-anticipatin’ song comin’ up next? Still doin’ tha damn thang on tha 2nd verse; HE DON’T STOP!!! I like tha “I burn like a pistol” part! Nuthin’ but a REAL “takeova” on this one alone!! My Rating: 4.2

16. Max Minelli “Promises To Keep”
Now tha back cover’s havin’ errors, lol! What’s wit tha “e” attached to his last name? Tha beat intro to this song sounded pretty bad on tha ending of tha last song, so I HOPE it ain’t that bad for me… >>> Okay, not bad for a start, luckily! Glad it went right into tha song! I like tha “God gave me life, mom gave me birth” part. Sounds like he gon deliver buku lyrics on this one! Nice part in tha beat from :49 - :51! Not sure about that hook. It ain’t that bad for a female. More on tha mainstream Young Jeezy sounding. Music Choice Rap doesn’t have this yet? Interestin’ lyrics in tha 2nd verse. Almost wasn’t sure which verse sounded betta, but tha 2nd verse REALLY picked up towards tha near-end! Anotha unknown start to tha next song… My Rating: 3.8

17. 1st Degree “In My City”
LOL @ tha “JD” in tha DatPiff ID/mp3 info name. This should be anotha REAL NICE one!! >>> Decent start, slow beat. Okay beginning, a lil’ betta hook. A lotta mixin’ in tha 2nd verse, and I like tha “how many streets ‘til my tank on E?” part; interestin’ on dat verse, although a lot of mixin’. What tha hell happened wit tha last like 7 seconds? Sounded like it went quiet, and then started mixin’ again (like I heard a piece of silence). My Rating: 3.7

18. 1st Degree “Stay With Me”
His “1st” double appearance on this mixtape, lol. Not sure what to expect… >>> This iz more not my style in tha beginning. Boring start to tha beat, but it’s ALWAYS those female vocal samples that kill it for me. Tha 1st verse started off wit soundin’ like Biggie wit tha “who tha hell iz this? Callin’ me at…” part. Interestin’, and I’m glad he gave a shout out ta J-Raw in tha verse! Tha 1st verse was much betta than how tha song sounds, so at least we got lyrics & rhymes here!! Tha 2nd verse soundin’ good too; keep all tha rhymes comin’!! A lil’ boring towards some of tha end of tha 2nd verse, but it still was pretty good. My Rating: 3.6

19. Hot Boy$ “If I Ain’t A Hot Boy”
Labeled as #12 on tha mp3 info (which skipped #11 ‘cause B.G.’s was labeled as #11). Well, this looks like tha comeback of tha mixtape artists; can it be? >>> I thought it was a bad start, but that was tha last song’s beat ending. Sounds like tha 2007 Wayne wit tha good rhymes. Tha beat iz DEFINITELY nice, and tha hook I just ROFL @ ‘cause of tha way Juvie just repeats tha title! Sounds like Young Jeezy’s classic “D-Boy” joint wit tha “if I ain’t a D-boy, then what do ya call dat?” part. Juvie here on tha 2nd verse, and I’m likin how he rappin’ dis shit! I just seem ta luv how he sounds when he raps now, and he spit some pretty consistent rhymes; thumbs up! Gizzle on tha 3rd verse here, and yea, “tha song couldn’t be finished without him;” of course! I like his “piece of tha puzzle” part; nice shit here! Really felt this one! My Rating: 4.5

20. 1st Degree “Straight Spittin’”
More from my boy… He must go WILD fa only 1:40 on tha length!! >>> Nice “sound bites” part! An aight beat, but it seems like it serves its purpose of bein’ a freestyle! Of course, tha rhymes are just CRAZY and UNSTOPPABLE!!! A lil’ break at :43? I guess he just lettin’ tha beat ride. Can’t really hear him in tha 2nd verse; sounds like tha beat iz louder than him. Barely understood tha 2nd verse, but I’m SURE it held it down! My Rating: 4.0

21. One-i Feat. Lil’ Cali & Savage “Sick Wit It”
Oooooooooooh!!! I bet wit it only bein’ 3:01 dat Savage gon do tha beat & tha hook. REALLY lookin’ forward to this!! My highest anticipation so far on this CD!!! >>> LOL @ tha mixin’ in tha beginning; it was so short, lol! One-i startin’ off RIGHT AWAY on this pretty good Savage beat! Glad his “pants hangin’ low” ‘cause saggin’ iz somethin’ that WON’T stop, lol! Nothin’ botherin’ him, so he just delivers tha rhymes without tha haterz!! GREAT job right there, and Savage doin’ a REAL NICE job on tha hook!! Tha title part sounds REAL nice!! Cali here on tha 2nd verse, always doin’ a good job on these str8 up hood bangaz!! Catchy shit from him, although tha verse sounded short. I still REALLY felt it, so you KNOW these boyz doin’ tha damn thang!! Shit, there’s a whole minute left; will Savage be on tha 3rd verse? Nope, One-i took tha verse, but I’m glad 3 verses fit on this right here!! LOL @ his “I’m down bad, that means I’m ‘so whopped’” part; nice reference! Soundin’ betta on this verse than his 1st verse; great shit here!! My Rating: 4.6

22. Gutta Twin Feat. Lil’ Boosie “Purple Drank”
Neva heard him before (but I think I saw his name on MySpace or somethin’). This must be REAL, REAL good (ESPECIALLY since it no less has 2:25 on tha length [BR])!!! REALLY lookin’ forward to this!! I think my anticipation keeps stayin’ REAL HIGH right now!!! >>> I can tell that ain’t a Baton Rouge voice in tha beginning. He must be New Orleans or somethin’? Pretty good start, and Boosie’s on tha 1st verse, deliverin’ street shit (while tha title iz a club title). “On dat mission fa dat jigga money;” nice line, Boosie! Feelin’ tha beat, as well as tha shit that’s spit on here!! REAL NICE hood hook; finally got ta hear it, and it sounded NICE!! He on tha 2nd verse here, and for a newbie for me, he doin’ GREAT fa this hood shit!! I like how he said “dawg” 2x around tha 1:50 – 1:56 mark. Looks like I gon feel him fa tha future! Hope I hear a mixtape from him real soon!! LOL @ tha beat intro to tha next song; it caught my attention tha way it came in, lol! My Rating: 4.5

23. 1st Degree “Uninvited”
Looks REAL STREET wit tha title and tha 3:27 length!!! Hope he does tha damn thang tha WHOLE WAY THROUGH!!!!! >>> Pretty good beat fa him. I feel like it keeps changin’ or somethin’. What’s wit tha mixin’ around tha :37 mark (sounds like car honkin’ or some shit)? It’s annoyin’ ‘cause I’m tryna enjoy tha rhymes here! Pretty good rappin’, as he keepin’ it consistent. Oh, now I hear a different beat sound mixin’ in. This iz just like some weird mix, lol. Those symbols are NICE!! Now, I hear him FINALLY at nearly 2:00 in! Gotta luv his “got tha heart of a lion” part ‘cause he ALWAYS does tha damn thang when comparin’ himself ta strong animals! Nice “somethin’ won like tha lottery” part; tight shit here! It makes me wanna be able ta undastand tha 1st verse! I REALLY like how he said, “Throw ya muthafuckin’ guns in tha sky,” and then tha beat had mixed that Rock/symbols style in!!! My Rating: 4.3

24. 1st Degree “What I Do”
I guess that “final” in tha mp3 filename iz just tha final/mastered version. Either way, looks like anotha anticipatin’ song from him, wit 3:09 on tha length! His 2nd back 2 backness! >>> So, tha Rock beat that was mixed in tha last song iz really in this one? Sounds great this time, and I like how tha 1st verse started off raw: “I wake up ta guns blazin’;” couldn’t have been more street than that! I like how tha beat’s quiet around tha :45 mark; “got moves like hot sauce!” Yea, “pants saggin’, I won’t lift ‘em up;” STR8 FIYA, just doin’ his own thang!! Tha 1st verse just TOO tight wit all tha different types of hood lyrics here!! Yea, “don’t ask why he does what he does… ‘cause he’s real!” Tha hook iz DEFINITELY tha truth, and this mixtape iz DEFINITELY soundin’ like it’s at its peak right now! I’m feelin’ his “posted up on tha porch, gettin’ high” part in tha 2nd verse; nice 2nd verse too! This had ta be tha best 1st Degree one on this mixtape! Even betta: tha acapella at tha end!! My Rating: 4.5

25. Magnolia Boyz “Same Ol’ Shit”
I think we REALLY at tha peak now; look how consistent it iz!! Tha lengths are at least 3 minutes too, so that’s DEFINITELY watz good!! Let’s see what these boyz got… >>> Sounds like a Trance song in tha beat sample a lil’ bit. Tha rhymes are goin’ raw, and tha 1st verse was DEFINITELY nice!! Tha hook iz DEFINITELY on its hood shit, so you KNOW this iz OFFICIALLY on ‘n’ poppin’!! Soundin’ RAW for tha start to tha 2nd verse!! GREAT trap lyrics goin’ on here, and this joint iz DEFINITELY watz good!! Why that “rain” (?) mixin’? Don’t spoil this song!! Tha 3rd verse iz DEFINITELY on ‘n’ poppin’ here wit tha hood/drug/weed lyrics, ya dig!! EXTREMELY on tha hustle tip!! My Rating: 4.7

26. 1st Degree “In The Rain”
Tha mp3 info Track # on this one iz #20 (‘cause “Crescent City Gangsta” iz labeled #19). Well, based off that sample that was mixed in tha last song, I don’t know if I’ll look forward ta this one… >>> Beat a lil’ on tha decent side, tha sample ain’t that bad, but tha rhymes are a plus here. Glad he still keepin’ tha hood fulla rhymes, so that’s a plus; keep doin’ tha damn thang! Again wit tha mixin’; not good. Too soon, but then again, only 37 seconds left. Tha mixin’ sounds like tha quality way too loud… Tha 2nd verse to this song iz here, and although it had that mixin’ in it, it sounded pretty good for what it was; not bad song. My Rating: 3.6

27. Lil’ Yella Feat. Nu$$ie “Dope Money”
WHAT’S UP WIT THA ENDING SONG?!? What kinda tease iz this?!? And it’s a bonus no less… Jimmy, you know my story wit this song. Because tha song was threatened wit me (not by tha artist; tha artist at least appreciated it), I can’t play it back, so I gon have ta remember tha song ta review. But, I overcame tha threat, and started smartin’ up in my commercials and shit by givin’ credits to those MySpace pages where tha pics came from. Plus, it was ironic ‘cause tha person that actually did what he did iz still cool wit me. At least he’s NORMAL ta revert himself back ‘cause in tha end, it’s all about SUPPORT; I ONLY SUPPORT!! For tha song: Great beat. I thought it was Sims (‘cause of what it sounded like Yella said in tha beginning), but I actually found out that Camp produced it? Tha hook iz DEFINITELY a street banga, and Yella does his thang on tha 1st verse! Gotta luv how he spits tha shit tha way he does! Nu$$ie’s verse was decent. I thought Nu$$ie had betta verses in tha past. Either way, although I can’t feel comfortable ta hear it, I still really like it! My Current Rating: 4.5

MY BONUS (LOL): LOOK @ DAT DOG SYMBOL ON THA BACK COVER!! Nice surprise, as I was originally expectin’ a shout out from 1st Degree. However, there were no skits this time, so that was PERFECT ta replace! I’m REAL GLAD I had Viper make me tha symbol fa $40 (and to y’all that are fake, think y’all got money out tha ass, and REAL SLOW wit gettin’ money ta someone: I paid Viper REAL FAST [before I even got tha symbol completely made]!!)! Tha symbol looks REAL GREAT (as well as all tha otha symbols on tha back of tha cover). ‘Preciate it, and you KNOW I got ya back wit ERR-THANG!!

Overall: Well, I’m glad tha mixtape picked up towards tha end! But, you know tha 2nd one was betta. At least Vol. 4 iz on tha way REAL soon (hopefully)! Wait ‘til tha commercial comes out on dis one! I’m plannin’ some REAL GREAT ideas for future commercials, so this one might have a REAL GREAT idea applied to it!! Keep up tha gr8 work, and make sure you get it in tha mail for me soon so I can do tha DVD review (like I promised). On anotha note: Baby L’s didn’t make this mixtape?
