Ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog here… Originally, I was in tha studio at my college,
but they let us out at 10:45 AM ‘cause tha faculty had a parade or some shit.
It sucked for me, but there was a reason why it happened, and tha end result iz
me goin’ back into my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon! So, without anymore delays,
here’s where I left off: My review for B.G. “True Story”, tha 2nd CD in
tha 1995 section of my marathon! Start Time: 12:18 PM | End Time:

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. 01. “True Story”
Startin’ thangz off wit tha title song; let’s see what we got for a start! >>> Yea, back in marathon mode!! Didn’t expect B.G. ta start off wit a Bounce beat, lol! Tha voice iz noticable 14 years ago still!! Nice job on tha 1st verse wit tha street lyrics. Feelin’ this shit right here, ESPECIALLY how tha hook sounds!! Tha 2nd verse DEFINITELY on point too wit tha shit that’s bein’ spit! It sounded like it switched to anotha verse at tha 1:59 mark. This a “Mystikal beat?” That’s what you said… If so, that’s DEFINITELY watz good (even for whoeva produced it)! Nice job endin’ tha verse wit tha “snortin’ dope” shit; real nice start!! My Rating: 4.3
02. “Get On My Feet”
This looks like an interestin’ title; REALLY lookin’ forward ta this one too!! >>> A lil’ different wit tha intro, but tha beat picked up at :12, especially in time for tha 1st verse. Definitely feelin’ tha hustlin’ rhymes; you KNOW it’s tha shit when it comes ta hustlin’! Also feelin’ tha gangsta lyrics too; that’s why you’re B.G.! I thought tha title had ta do wit someone “gettin’ on your feet” and you shootin’ them or somethin’, but it has ta do wit your hustle game. Nice hook, and tha 2nd verse soundin’ pretty good on this too; consistent wit tha lyrics, rhymes, and beat! I’m hearin’ tha 3rd verse now, and at tha time 14 years ago, you were only “14,” huh? That’s watz good wit dis Rap shit! I can’t believe you’re 28+ now! Time just flies, but you DON’T stop ‘cause every year, you have an album drop; that’s tha shit right there! Nice job wit tha motivational skillz on tha 3rd verse. My Rating: 4.1
03. “Start N Tha Game” Feat. Ms. Tee
Wit tha length of 4:37, it reminds me of a Bounce length; let’s see what we got!! >>> Yea, I hear tha Bounce feel in tha hook, and it got BETTA at tha :06 mark! Cool hook, and now, tha 1st verse here, doin’ tha damn thang!! Money, money, money all ova this verse!! Cool vocals on this one too; it goes gr8 wit your flow! Tha 2nd verse startin’ off catchin’ wit tha “mailman” part; good shit here! You doin’ tha damn thang on this one, so I’m DEFINITELY givin’ it a plus! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ tha 3rd verse! On tha “contract” tip here; all about dat money! Nice “rollin’ on top of water” part too before tha 3rd verse ended; you REALLY held this song down, ESPECIALLY wit dat female on tha hook! My Rating: 4.4
04. “From Tha 13th To Tha 17th” Feat. Baby D
I like how it’s 1995, and you have tha spellings of “tha” on your titles; that’s REALLY watz good! And now, wit a longer length of 4:49, we ‘bout ta take it to tha wards! REALLY lookin’ forward!! >>> I guess tha tracks alternate wit their paces ‘cause this one iz slower. Tha vocals sound cool on this one too, as it sounds like it’s a softer, down South vibe. Nice job on tha 1st verse, as well as tha hook too. I hear someone else on tha 2nd verse (not sourced). I like how they said “smokin’ buku spliff;” good shit on tha 2nd verse ta blend in! Tha 3rd verse has gangsta survival lyrics in it, so this iz a plus right here, fa sho! Tha dude on tha 2nd verse iz back for a 4th verse, blendin’ in good! Even a 5th verse was added to this; you know you did yo thang, B.G.! Nice ending wit tha title and shit! My Rating: 4.2

½time: Sounds like a REAL consistent CD! Only 4 songs, and tha ratings are only 4 spots different (4.1 – 4.4)! This shit DEFINITELY hot, and it’s pure classic, so I’m REAL GLAD there’s buku shit from B.G. in my marathon, ya dig!!
05. “Hood Took Me Under”
And anotha catchy title, which I’m REALLY lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this one!! Are we goin’ back to tha fast style?? >>> Doesn’t sound like a fast intro, but it DEFINITELY has a gangsta sound into it! Actually, once tha beat kicked in at about :12, it got fast, so I’m REAL glad for this blend!! GR8 beat, GR8 rappin’, and you KNOW tha rhymes are ALWAYS on point!! Nice job on tha 1st verse, and tha hook EASILY defines what tha title means; you KNOW it all about yo hood! Ooh, I hear tha “dunn-dunn-dunn-dunn” Bounce shit at 1:28; GR8 shit here!! Really feelin’ this joint right here, and I’m glad you did ya thang on tha 2nd verse! You KNOW it just continues on tha 3rd verse, “packin’ your gat” on this shit; you DEFINITELY in gangsta mode right now! I like how tha last minute sounds wit tha beat losin’ its sounds, and then revivin’ tha sounds. Great shit right here! My Rating: 4.5
06. “Down For My Stacks” Feat. E Vicious & Mr. Ivan
It’s 5:05 on tha length, and although we’ve been havin’ tha fast/slow pattern wit this CD, I have a feelin’ that pattern gon break now ‘cause this title looks like a club-type! >>> Sounds like mid-speed in tha beginning… Decent pace, and now, I’m lookin’ forward ta what you’re spittin’! Nice beat sounds within tha beat too! Great street lyrics on this wit tha “nuts hang” shit; you on your shit right now in this marathon!! Sounds like Dr. Dre at 1:02 wit tha “down for my muthafuckin’ stack” part! Tha dude iz on tha 2nd verse, doin’ a REAL NICE job… Was that Vicious (‘cause that’s what he said at tha end of tha verse)? I’m assumin’ it iz, and I luv his “girbauds” part; DEFINITELY fuckin’ luv Louisiana to tha fullest!! Anotha dude here on tha 3rd verse; wonder who it iz? Makes me wanna google it… Yea, I see E Vicious & Mr. Ivan; DEFINITELY 2 GR8 artists for this shit!! Mr. Ivan did tha damn thang on his verse while tha whole song was held down REAL NICE!! What’s wit tha 1:30 beat outro though? Way too long! Somebody should’ve spit a verse!! After googlin’ it, I found a site that has tha featured artists, so I gon fill in Ms. Tee from Song #3. My Rating: 4.5
07. “Trill B.G.” Feat. Baby D
This looks like a catchy title; you KNOW I’m lookin’ forward ta this one!! >>> Sounds like I’m anticipatin’ a Bounce vibe comin’ up, lol. Tha beat kickin’ in pretty good at :09. Tha vocals sound pretty undaground here, so it’s a NICE blend wit tha beat! Tha fast-paced flow and lyrics are DEFINITELY watz good on this one! Why tha spelling error on tha title? I’ll just take tha “h” out ‘cause “trill” iz pretty much spelled wit 5 letters. Who iz tha lil’ dude on tha 2nd verse? Now, there’s no source on him, but he sounds nice on this shit! Sounds like a 12 or younger year old, lol! Tha 3rd verse had a REAL HOT start wit tha “izzle” shit after each ½/¼ line!! LOL @ tha “Lil’ Wayne” reference from tha featured youngin’ in tha 4th verse! Catchy beat ending and catchy song right here! I also like tha fade-out too! My Rating: 4.3
08. “Fuck Big Boy” Feat. Tec-9 (U.N.L.V.) & Baby D
THIS SHOULD BE REAL GOOD!!! Looks like we got a 5* rated CD here ‘cause each song 4.0+ on tha ratings!! Nice job, B.G.!! Now, ta end it…!! >>> Tha beat sample in tha beginning iz DEFINITELY nice, and tha U.N.L.V. style in tha beginning DEFINITELY iz watz good!! Feelin’ tha 1st verse, especially tha organ in tha background of tha beat too! REAL NICE “get a bag of that fiya…” part too; I hear tha “dunn-dunn-dunn-dunn” shit at :52 too!! REAL NICE shit here!! Here you come at 1:06, makin’ a nice transition from tha U.N.L.V. dude! Deliverin’ dat gangsta shit right here, B.G.! DEFINITELY inta this shit right here, and it makes me wish I was able ta hear this shit back then! LOL @ tha “ha ha, ha ha” shit! Wow, tha “too loaded, too loaded, too loaded” shit iz DEFINITELY watz good on this shit!! This iz DEFINITELY watz good; keep it comin’!!! Nice job, and now, B.G., you’re back at tha 3:20 mark! “Leavin’ heads swollen” on dis shit, so you KNOW it ain’t ta be fucked wit! LOL @ tha “Partners-N-Crime” diss on this too, lol! That felt random ta me, ESPECIALLY tha “lick a nigga’s nuts” part; that went HARD!! Great job on dis shit right here!! My Rating: 4.5
Overall: Well, congrats, B.G.! You got yoself a 5* CD right here, my dawg! This shit DEFINITELY bumped nice on my computer, and on this review right here! Puttin’ it online now; keep doin’ ya thang!!
