Review #568: Young Pizz "Dosha Burner Chronicles"

Reviewed on 7.22.2010 (Review #568)

Afta all those crappy reviewz yesterday, I’m up extra early for some reason to do more… Startin’ off today iz Young Pizz “Dosha Burner Chronicles. Start Time: 6:54 AM | End Time: 7:34 AM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. Intro
>>> Although just an “intro,” this iz soundin’ good for tha “wasted” scene. Hope tha whole mixtape sounds like dis! My Rating: N/A

02. “Love For The Dosha”
I usually spell it “Doulja” but there’s prolly a bunch of spellings for it. Let’s see how good this iz… >>> Beat’s okay, song’s okay too… I like tha “like a shield” line; defense, lol. Not really Louisiana for me on tha vibe but it’s not bad for a song… My Rating: 3.7

03. “3rd World”
>>> “Baton Rouge” representin’ here… Intro’s kinda long but tha beat’s a lil’ betta here. Since I heard a lil’ Pimp C “smoke sumthin’” intro, I picture this havin’ a Southern vibe. Tha 1st verse iz more like an “intro” song unlike tha previous song. I like dat “Louisiana, my niggaaaaaaaaaaaaa” shit before tha 2nd hook ended! LOL @ tha “Blogspot” tag durin’ tha 3rd hook. This iz pretty good for a Southern song. My Rating: 4.2

04. “These Streets”
>>> Fast intro. Different kinda beat here although it has a borderline taste… I don’t really like when there’s a hook already in tha song… Tha 2nd verse’s pretty good towards tha end. Prolly could’ve had a catchier flow on this. My Rating: 3.5

05. “Drop”
>>> Not even a “drop,” lol? Heard this beat one time; kinda fucked up, “A Mill” style. Tha “dat shit you smoke ain’t real bud” shit sounds pretty rough. I can’t picture someone smokin’ somethin’ less-acceptable? All weed iz tha same in my opinion… Tha 2nd verse sounds good in tha beginning wit tha “smoke” shit and tha flow’s good too. My Rating: 3.8

06. “Who It Is”
>>> Heard this beat before; prolly was anotha undaground artist but this title iz tha same. Lemme look… Not even in my iTunes library; oh well… Tha hook sounds exactly tha same, nearly, lol? Tha verses are just okay for me… My Rating: 3.2

07. “Killer, Killer”
>>> Beat sounds different here; let’s see what’s good… Sounds more boring durin’ tha 1st verse. Oh wait, this iz tha hook and it sounds good wit tha content; didn’t realize tha title had ta do wit “smokin’!” Tha “we don’t smoke dat shit no mo” sounds like you have an everyday smokin’ journey, lol. My Rating: 3.9

08. “Dat Gwopa” Feat. Kid Twist
Ooh, a collab… >>> Anotha Pimp C lil’ “smoke sumthin’” intro here wit anotha good beat and hook too… Catchy 1st verse here; Kid Twist on tha 1st verse? Real good flow fa dis joint! Tha 2nd verse sounds good also. LOL again @ tha “I used to smoke… Now, it’s…” shit; competition, lol! My Rating: 4.1

09. “Every Girl (Freestyle)”
Boo/yawn! Whether it’s 57 seconds or longer! >>> Tha beat makes me not even interested in this at all… My Rating: 1.3

½time: Good so far except #9; 3.5 average CD rating so far.

10. “Real Good”
>>> Sounds “good;” reminds me of Three 6 Mafia on tha hook. It iz a sample and it fits pretty “good” here wit your rappin’. LOL @ only one verse… My Rating: 3.8

11. “Gangsta”
>>> ROFL @ tha Pimp C “smoke sumthin’” beginning again; you’re addictive. Good thing for tha Pimp C beginnings ‘cause it seems like tha best songs on here are those wit him in tha beginning; a Southern vibe prediction! Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re cool wit how you’re comin’ through wit it… Tha “Blogspot”’s beat again, lol. My Rating: 4.0

12. “Talk Back”
Tha title reminds me of a Wayne sample… >>> Good intro. Oh, a “pussy talk back” kinda song, lol…; this sounds good though. Looks like it gon be only one verse… Thumbs up on everything: Beat, verse, flow, hook and tha female appearin’ in tha hook too. My Rating: 3.9

13. “Head First” Feat. Chi
Let’s see this collab… >>> Kinda non-Louisiana but Southern for tha beat here… I’m feelin’ what you bringin’ on tha 1st verse, especially startin’ @ :59 wit you bein’ all “blunted” and shit, lol! Tha hook’s even good too… Sounds like you concerned about a lotta people on tha 2nd verse wit how they act, lol. LOL @ “y’all niggaz—niggaz know me” part in tha hook wit tha double word. My Rating: 4.1

14. “Never”
>>> Sounds okay; not really anything ta say about this… Okay verse too. My Rating: 3.4

15. “Mama Pray For Me”
I don’t be likin’ titles like this. >>> Tha beat sounds pretty good for like a 90’s style but tha hook ain’t “for me,” anyway. Now, tha beat sounds like some Kanye-type shit durin’ tha verse… My Rating: 1.8

16. “Dead Wrong”
>>> LOL, a Bounce beat? Now this iz more 90’s wit tha vibe! Decent lil’ short song… I like tha title part in tha hook. My Rating: 3.5

17. “Let’s Fly” Feat. Trife
Not crazy about this kinda title too… >>> Good, slow hook that’s not bad at all. Tha beat’s nice and slow for this “smoke-a-blunt”-type shit. Nice job wit tha 1st verse… LOL, Trife iz a gurl? Sounds pretty good on tha 2nd verse although a lil’ odd on 1st listen too…; she sounds like a kid too? Maybe it’s just that she’s “fucked up” (high), lol? My Rating: 4.3

18. “The Truth” Feat. Kayloh
Tha last joint doesn’t even have a full sample; DatPiff removed it. Lemme hear this 30 seconds… >>> Sounds like you’re comin’ through pretty good on this non-Louisiana beat. SMH @ tha sample; kinda funny but more SMH @ dat tha sample was why it was removed from tha DatPiff folder. My Rating: 3.7

Overall: I feel like this was betta than some of tha shit I reviewed yesterday but statistically, tha average CD rating’s like tha same. It’s prolly ‘cause of tha two songs I rated in tha 1.0’s; tha rating would’ve been a 3.8 if they weren’t there.
