Review #1,457: B-Teze "Ready For Combat Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 4.08.2015 (Review #1,457)

Got ya boy, FrankieThaLuckyDog, here, with a review for SouljaMade Entertainment’s B-Teze! Here’s an anticipatin’ review since he’s one of tha rawest, purest-soundin’ dudes outta Baton Rouge, LA, Ghosttown to be exact! This new disc, Ready For Combat Vol. 1, just got released not too long ago and though I had to look for it myself, I’m still lookin’ forward to hearin’ this!! FYI: B-Teze discovered me back in November 2011, when DJ B-Real told him to check me out, since I was promotin’ Louisiana rappers, at tha time. Start Time: 7:25 PM | End Time: 8:17 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2015 CD Review (Review #1,457) reviewed on 4.08.2015 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Intro
Okay, den, bring it on!! >>> Thought it was gon be you talkin’, but it sounds like someone from tha tunnel or somethin’; hmm… Anyway, it sounds nice and scary! My Rating: N/A

02. “Who Gon Help Me Out”
I know I’ve been; let’s see what dis be ‘bout… >>> Ooh, you produced tha track, here; can’t wait ta hear!! Diggin’ tha anticipatin’ energy in tha beginning! Hearin’ you on tha hook and it sounds like anotha version of Shell; diggin’ it! Tha hook sounds real catchy; definitely feelin’ your pure sound!! Tha 1st verse’s pretty nice, too; great, gutta sound! Can’t deny what you bring to tha table! LOL, I called you earlier today, when I smoked a bowl; I was nice and high, but you prolly was workin’… Keep doin’ ya thang solo, or should I quote you and say, “By myself,” ‘cause you got this shit on lock! Most of tha time, you don’t need no features! That still sux about your “baby mama” and how she ain’t alive. But, at least you still got shit goin’ on! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ great, here; diggin’ what you got goin’ on on tha track! My Rating: 4.6

03. “Watch Me”
Have been… >>> Nice beat start; sounds a lil’ mainstream, but it sounds great when you start rappin’ on tha hook. I’m definitely diggin’ your grimy voice on tha hook; keep it goin’!! Nice way ta start tha verse off wit, “Drug game, I’m tha drug mane!” Great shit; you definitely as good, if not, betta than a “drug,” ya heard me? Nice Down Bad “Out Da Box” reference, here. As far as you bein’ “out da box,” I’d say, “Yeah,” but more to tha fact that you consistently gutta and are a hidden secret! Great job on tha 1st verse, though; you fulla excellence!! Oh wow, forgot, that was tha only verse; nice and quick!! My Rating: 4.5

04. “Long Tyme” feat. Nookie D
Neva heard of tha featured artist; lemme hear… >>> Hot beat start and nice that you mentioned, “Jiggin’ off ya feet;” great shit!! Ooh @ tha hook; sounds like an anthem ta get fucked up!! Oh, this sounds like me for back in tha day. However, I’ve finally found a connect, a plug! I can get “fucked up” wheneva I want, finally!! And, it’s great! I’m still consistent and immortal as fuck, though, so it doesn’t ruin me, ya dig?! Hearin’ tha 1st verse (or, only verse?) and it’s soundin’ nice from this Nookie dude; good shit! Ooh, you came through on tha 2nd ½ of tha hook outta nowhere! Prolly could’ve had a verse from you, but this was nice for a tease!!! My Rating: 4.8

05. “Big Fine Ass” feat. Dutch Mane & DJ B-Real
LOL, for a B-Teze topic. >>> At least you don’t have a gay-ass beat tag on tha tracks! You announce that you “on tha track,” and that’s how it should be! Kinda like how it was from back in tha day! And, you got tha track on lock, here, as it has that quality sound to it!! And, lol @ tha hook; feelin’ how they gon get down ta this with their “big fine ass,” lol! A longer song, here, with you on tha 1st verse; sounds nice! Almost sounds like someone else providin’ ad-libs and background vocals, here; interestin’… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it sounds like Beezy Bird from G-Lane, almost? Well, kinda; don’t exactly know who it iz, but maybe, I’ll find out who it iz while reviewin’ tha rest of tha tracks, here… It sounds like a nice verse; I’m definitely feelin’ what they got goin’ on, here, fa these ladies! Fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkk @ tha 3rd verse; fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!! Where’s my weed cookie to devour?!? I oughta eat one now!! You’re lucky I’m not in New York!! I think I need a dime!!! Oh well, at least I have work tomorrow, so that’s what’s up!! But anyway, my ‘ex-patna’ B-Real on tha 3rd verse and it sounds great ta hear; nice job! I hate that I had to be surprised, just like wit tha Lil’ Cali CD, where he’s not credited, and I don’t prepare for it!!! Too bad it gotta go in one ear and out tha other! At least I got ta look at my girl on my screen, so that’s a plus!! I even saw her today; she said, “Oh God, I love you;” ooooooooooooooh!!!! As B-Real’s four years older than me, I’m five years older than my girl, and I feel like I have B-Real quality with her, like, when B-Real and I would talk to each other. Still, greatest artist in Baton Rouge of all-time, whether he appreciates it or not!!! And, my honesty goes a long way!! Three upcoming publications/magazine articles I gon be in, thanx to record labels and publications discoverin’ me!! Oh, I prolly gon get a raise soon fa reviewin’ B-Real in 2015!! My Rating: 4.6
EDIT: Textin’ B-Teze at tha moment… Feature before B-Real: Dutch Mane, lol.

06. “Expiration Dates” feat. C-Teze
Error on tha ID? You have, “Creze,” though I think he’s “C-Teze!” >>> This sounds like a regular-soundin’ beat but I’m definitely diggin’ tha hook! Great topic; great lyrics fa tha streetz!! Luv dat “expiration dates” shit! Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ nice with your brother, here; almost similar-soundin’ voices? Okay, dat was you on tha 1st verse and now, tha otha “Teze” on tha 2nd verse, lol, comin’ through wit some nice shit fa tha streetz. Once again, y’all do a great job teamin’ up! My Rating: 4.6

07. “Get Bodied” feat. Gutta
>>> Didn’t catch tha producer, but it sounds nice, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s Gutta, here? Nice job; “niggaz start switchin’ like a gas price sign!” I’m feelin’ that line, right there! Glad gas’ so cheap; I always celebrate my success! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice from you, here; great, gutta sound! Just luv how you just provide tha tension and earthquake to these niggaz’ ears, as you have them “loud rounds!” My Rating: 4.5

08. “All Da Way Dumb” feat. Nookie D
Lookin’ forward ta hearin’! >>> Feelin’ tha energetic, Baton Rouge-soundin’ beat; definitely diggin’ this hook!! Glad y’all “really out [ya] body;” can’t wait ta kick it witcha, in tha future!! Great shit, B-Teze!! And, Nookie doin’ tha damn thang on tha hook, once again! Just luv tha feelin’ of bein’ high, though y’all higher wit these lyrics, content and vibe, here! Ooh @ tha 2nd verse, too; great, grimy voice!!! My Rating: 4.8

09. “Good Dope Sales” feat. DJ B-Real & Dutch Mane
No C-Teze this time? Even took “Sales” outta tha title and “Mane” outta Dutch’s name, lol. Luckily, this iz from 2013, so I don’t have to have a panic attack that my biggest Dunkin’ influence’s on tha feature! I featured this on my 15th mixtape compilation, Tha Louisiana Archives Vol. 15: Nothing To Say, and even though I had nothing to say, here’s what I had to “say”:

SouljaMade Entertainment in tha buildin’, here! Added this one on your birthday, which was on September 9 [2013], and it’s here! Produced by DJ B-Real & Cage, this a nice lil’ track. I like how B-Real says, “Hello,” when pickin’ up tha phone on tha intro, lol. Of course, that Gucci Mane-sampled hook sounds nice, too (if that’s him; it sounds like it). And, B-Real, wit all this shit you’re offerin’, can I smoke a lil’, for free? I mean, you say you got all these “sales,” and are chantin’, “Come holla at me!” So, hook ya boy up… Anyway, good random appearance from B-Real on tha 1st ¼ of tha 1st verse, and tha remaining ¾ of tha 1st verse are from Dutch Mane, who sounds cool as a fan. And, you’re on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit your dreaded-up, great shit fa these “sales!”

^ Holy shit, I sounded so young, back then!! I can’t believe I was 25 and am only 26, now! Sounds like I was like 17 or somethin’, ROFL!! LOL, “Can I smoke;” I only got high once when I first reviewed this! Now, 100x times later, includin’ a full-time job, I’m really on top, these dayz! You even thought I was still doin’ tha mixtapes every 90 dayz, B-Teze. Well, unfortunately, it stopped last year, as no one wanted to be on ‘em, anymore—not one person! So, as much as I wanted to continue, my consistency died… Dunkin’s got my true value, not tha music business, and I can feel it! Oh, and, thanx for tha higher-quality version, finally! My Current Rating: 4.7

½time: Of course, exactly what I expected from this CD! You definitely bring tha energy, tha gutta vibes, tha street content, tha good-night jointz, and everything I luv about Baton Rouge music!! Great job, as always! This tha kinda shit that makes me embrace Baton Rouge music, from tha start!! Keep it goin’, as you have a 4.6 for tha CD rating, currently!!

10. “You Pussy” feat. Gutta
Whoot! >>> Anotha nice-soundin’, dark-soundin’ track, here; good shit! Diggin’ tha shit on tha hook, as these niggaz “pussy;” that’s right! How can people not stand up fa othaz, yet, are like, “I got a click fulla people wit me,” etc.; like, really? They go and carry guns and shit, but can’t rely a message for me? Definitely “pussy!” And, nice job from you on tha 1st verse; dumb shit!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Gutta and it’s definitely somethin’ great ta hear, as always! Luv how he comin’ through wit those gangsta-soundin’ rhymes! “R.I.P. Stevie Boy;” figured I’d let it be known, since y’all lettin’ it be known… My Rating: 4.6

11. “Get ‘Em” feat. Gutta & Lil’ Chris
Features from Gutta & Lil’ Chris not listed… Forgot I heard this one, lol. Featured on my final mixtape compilation, Tha Louisiana Archives Vol. 17: Tha Survivor’s Cave, released on March 20, 2014; here’s what I said:

“K-Bone” as tha producer? Feelin’ this undaground, hidden treasure-like Ghost Town music, lol! Nice 1st verse, here; pretty gutta, right? Dude even got “SouljaMade Entertainment tatted on [his] sleeve!” A grimy B-Teze voice before tha 2nd verse’s here; pretty serious wit them gunshots in tha background! And, tha 2nd verse’s pretty serious, too, from you! Your throat must be so sore afta recording!! LOL @ “most niggaz where I’m from, like cigarettes, get smoked,” or whateva that line was; pretty serious! Tha 3rd verse’s pretty nice, too! No need fa a hook, here; just some tight, 225/Baton Rouge/Ghosttown verses!! My Current Rating: 4.7

12. “Ready For Combat” feat. Spade & Shell
Shell a.k.a. Yung Thugga on tha feature? Looks anticipatin’; lemme see, here… >>> Nice beat start; feelin’ tha hook as y’all definitely bring it!! Y’all and dem “big gunz;” y’all definitely can splatter someone! Great job, B-Teze & Spade!! Here you come on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit dat engulffin’ “heata;” bring it on!! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Spade and it sounds nice; good shit! Did I miss Shell on here? Guess it’s a different one? Oh wait, it’s this dude on tha 2nd verse… My Rating: 4.4

13. “Freestyle” feat. Gutta
Lookin’ forward to hearin’ y’all tear this shit up!! >>> Thought this would be a known beat, but I don’t know it, so you gettin’ some brownie points, here!! Feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha 1st verse; great shit!! Hearin’ Gutta on tha 2nd verse, here, and it sounds nice; consistent rhymes fa tha hood! Diggin’ tha G-shit content!! My Rating: 4.5

14. “Sippin’ On Some Lean” feat. Gutta
This’ll be my next venture, if I could ever get to tha south… Yeah, not too much “lean” up where I’m at; we be goin’ off dem geebs!!

Mega cauldron fulla weed smoke that hits you instantly!! Luv it! And, I’m sure I gon luv this track! >>> Nice beat, here; sounds nice, dark, and gangsta! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice; definitely don’t suggest anyone ta get in your way! You’ll destroy, or should I say, kill ‘em!! Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds like that southern music I luved as a teenager! Definitely diggin’ tha gutta vibe you bring ova this beat; can’t deny tha “lean” and can’t wait for it, one day!! Hearin’ Gutta on tha 2nd verse and it sounds nice ta hear; consistent rhymes at its finest! My Rating: 4.7

15. “Switch Da Game Up” feat. Noonie & Gutta
Ooh, ooh, ooh!! >>> Sounds like a good beat; sounds a lil’ dry with this 1st verse’s delivery, here, as it sounds like, “Yada, yada, yada.” Like, maybe, a lil’ more aggression like you have on tha flow? Either way, it’s still nice ta hear, as long as they reppin’ tha 225, ya dig? Tha hook’s pretty nice; feelin’ how you comin’ through on it! And yeah, “Da game ain’t tha same, no mo;” I agree! Like, what happened two years ago? That was tha last time I talked to many people: Savage, Young Ready, B-Real, Zeus, Big Wayne, this one, that one, etc., on tha phone. Like, nobody use a phone anymore…? It’s weird ‘cause ain’t it ‘pose to be where tha one that makes tha money changes on people? Well, I’m tha one makin’ tha money and err-body changed on me, instead? Weird; this whole “game”’s so dead!! My phone don’t go off, anymore, and nobody sends me CDs! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, here, too; you got it goin’ on at all times in BR, B-Teze!! They may not wanna hear it, but I’m sayin’ it!! As far as tha rest of this shit, it sounds nice! My Rating: 4.5

16. “Cutting Up” feat. Lil’ Jeff, Gutta & Noonie
No features listed, but it’s Lil’ Jeff, Gutta & Noonie, also featured on my final mixtape! Here’s what I had to say:

Catchy hook; Baton Rouge’s hood at its finest!! Luv tha jigg vibe, too! Tha 1st verse’s pretty nice, too! “SouljaMade” in tha buildin’, of course! Consistent, Ville Boyz-like 1st verse, here, and you gotta feel it! You can’t stop “rollin’” or reppin’ tha hood fa this “Ghosttown” anthem! Tha 2nd verse’s pretty gutta, here; really feelin’ tha voice!! “Got it tatted on my stomach;” what a representa fa “SouljaMade,” here! Gotta feel it!! This tha kinda shit I luv; can’t deny it, and they neva come through soft, on this! No dickridin’, overrated Cain people, here!! Tha 3rd verse’s pretty nice, here; such greatness!! I don’t know who’s who on this, but you already know that a semi-blind review like this definitely passes, fa me!! My Current Rating: 4.7

17. “Where I’m From” feat. Spade & DJ B-Real
You already know!! >>> Beat sounds nice and southern; oh, you got me wonderin’ wit, “Shout out ta DJ B-Real,” as far as “showin’” you this producin’ shit… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice; really diggin’ tha energy!! This was tha energy #15 was missin’ in tha beginning! Great shit; definitely! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s an unknown feature; definitely diggin’ what they bringin’ to tha table! Great, gutta vibes, here!! And, hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ great; keep goin’ “ape!” You definitely got this shit on lock; luvin’ it!! I have a feelin’ somethin’ funny gon come outta tha 3rd verse, so lemme just say this: “I fuckin’ luvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv my girl at my job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” And, good thing I said it: B-Real on tha 3rd verse; I fuckin’ knew it!!! Gangsta shit, here; let’s pretend it’s 2013 since everyone died in late 2013/early 2014! Oh, luvin’ it, but it gotta go outta my ears afta this! He’s just so great, but he really should be reconnectin’ wit me on some shit! Like, I’m travelin’ and got tha labels gettin’ a hold of me! Why be so quiet?! Can’t wait for those articles to drop so I can just put ‘em out there!!! And, gotta quote my girl about B-Real: “That guy who pushed you to Dunkin’ to get the job I know he’s fucked up [for blocking me] but I could thank him bcus I wouldn’t of met u.” Look at that: If it wasn’t for B-Real, I wouldn’t have my girl in my life!! Even on April Fools Day: I hung out with her, and while I was drivin’ to see her, guess what I bumped? Dat “Pay Da Producer”! Yeah, it was April Fools Day, but I was so happy to see her!! My Rating: 4.7
EDIT: Tha one feature I ain’t know was Spade; get you more juice in ya, boy, lol!

18. “Wildley Gators” feat. DJ B-Real
Nice title! What a way to end it; B-Real credited, finally! Also, too bad I already smoked a bowl hours before this review! Could prolly use it now! Oh, I gotta make sure I stare at my girl on my screen while this iz playin’, to counter-off tha energies!! >>> And, B-Real on tha beat; I oughta smoke a bowl, like I said!! Oh, this sounds like classic Baton Rouge music; what a way ta end this CD off!! Tha way this iz exciting iz what I bring to tha table at my job! Like, I’m tha B-Real at my job; err-body luvs my consistent excitement! I clocked in at work exactly five minutes early for 184 WORK DAYZ IN A ROW!!! Talk about consistency!!! Who’s done that before?!? Hearin’ tha beat and it’s crazy!! Just luv tha energy!! Customers say to me, “What do you take in tha morning?!” Little do they know, I’m very influenced by B-Real’s excitement, at my job, providin’ immortal energy at work!! Tomorrow: DAY 10 IN A ROW WORKING WITHOUT A DAY OFF!! B-Real definitely has a catchy-ass voice on this hook; great delivery!!! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice; great ta hear!! Just luv your insane energy on tha flow!!!!! And, here’s B-Real on tha 2nd verse; oh, whateva @ tha “money” shit! I’m too excited, right now, ta criticize!! Just luv how he set tha vibe fa tha track!! Oh, if only everyone at my job would know about B-Real!! My co-workers know about how he’s treated me, but I mean, my customers! Think: They luvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv me ‘cause of B-Real!!! And, to keep it goin’, we got you on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit some nice energy, once again!!! You neva stop tha craziness!!! Wow, this neva gets old or boring!!!!!!!! This definitely sounds like some catchy, classic-ass shit!! This reminds me of tha 2006 – 2008-type shit that I grew up to, for Louisiana!! Glad y’all can bring those vibes back!! Oh, too bad it must go in one ear and out tha other; imagine this on my playlist?!? I’ll make a deal: If B-Real unblocks me, I will add this song to my playlist and play it for err-body I know! Make that deal; we reconnect, you got yourself a great deal!! And, to end this review, this has to be tha best ending song on a CD of all-time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have I eva rated an ending song with a **PERFECT RATING** before?! Don’t think so!! My Rating: 5.0

Overall: Wow, what a CD!! It feels like it only got betta and betta as it progressed!! A 4.4 iz tha lowest rating on tha CD; glad you brought your A-game like there was no tomorrow!! Definitely felt tha production and your click/features were definitely off tha chain!! Of course, tha B-Real ones hit home for me, emotionally, as I wish we were still connected. Don’t worry, I’m not givin’ up!! I’m sure we’ll reconnect sooner or later! He gotta realize how much my life’s evolved, to where I’m doin’ so many independent things, now! Definitely great and risky to bring him to tha table, here, in 2015, but it worked! It may’ve been a guilty pleasure, but it definitely was quality at its finest!! I mean, best ending song of all-time on a CD?!? Great job!! That’s how life should be!! No need for all dat “money” shit, we jiggin’! We partyin’! You know!! Keep up tha great work, Mr. B-Teze!!
