R.I.P. Video #37: Daddy Yo

Broadcasting from tha abandoned Rockland Psychiatric Center in Rockland, NY, it's ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog here, with a special edition of one of my tribute videos for today.

Today, April 7, 2015, marks 20 years since tha fatal shooting of Calliope-born rapper Joseph "Daddy Yo" Howard III, who resided in St. Bernard, LA. In 1993, when Howard was 17, he released his first single, "I'm Not Your Trick Daddy", produced by Pack Records, on Sound Express Recordings. It was a diss record aimed at New Orleans rapper, Magnolia Slim, now known as Soulja Slim. Just a year later, in 1994, Howard released his Big Ro-produced EP, Both Sides Of The Story, with Females N Charge artist, Short T, on Flip Side Records. However, during that same year, Slim fired back at Howard with a diss record called "Bitch Nigga", off Slim's debut tape, Soulja Fa Lyfe. Slim's diss record caused such havoc, to where Howard was fatally gunned down on Friday, April 7, 1995. He was only 19 years-old that year, and would've been 39 if still alive, today.
