Review #1,920: 5-Deuce "And U Know This !!!"

Reviewed on 12.29.2019 (Review #1,920)

I can’t believe I done reached tha year 2000 in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon! There’s still at least 500 CDs ta get to, tho, so I’m not that far in…! Either way, here comes my 1st review fa tha 2000’s: 5-Deuce And U Know This !!!, released in 2000 on Paroled Entertainment! Start Time: 5:37 PM | End Time: 6:46 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Concentration”
>>> Sounds great wit how you want tha “Crown,” here, on tha intro, wit tha rappin’ goin’ on, at tha same time! Beat sounds nice & this 1st verse cool; nice 225 music, here…! Tha “bayou swamp;” swamped-out! Just so entertainin’ wit what you come up wit! Str8 from tha “bayou swamp;” luv that! Crazy that you “didn’t go,” when it came to tha “dirty piss”/“piss test;” guilt… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it sounds nice wit what you got goin’ on; just luv your style/vibe!! My Rating: 4.5

02. “And U Know This!”
>>> Slow one, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & your flow’s kinda dry/a lil’ off? I’ono ‘bout dis one… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s kinda ehh; some of it’s a lil’ off beat? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s kinda boring; just not inta tha sad vibes… Got tha 3rd verse, here & it’s ehh…; too slow, once again… My Rating: 2.5

03. “Welcome 2 Da Grind”
>>> Sounds decent wit this beat & it sounds like you got some good rhymes on tha hook, as well as tha 1st verse, here… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; keep it goin’… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it sounds like some ‘90s rap—early ‘90s; not bad… Got a 4th verse goin’ on, here & it’s str8; reppin’ nicely fa this Boot state! My Rating: 3.7

04. “Gimme Luv”
>>> Sounds like it gon be smooth… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds nice wit this dude singin’ tha title, here… Damn; have I heard dis b4? “June 21, 1993,” wit tha penitentiary? That’s my fifth birthday…! *Checks past reviewz…* Okay, Silky Slim’s Ole Superstar CD I reviewed recently, it was tha song, “Ghetto Style” feat. Mydus, tha same date/incident iz in that song; crazy! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ okay, here; nice lil’ southern slice of music, here… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it sounds like survivin’ a rough time; glad you’re a survivor… My Rating: 3.7

05. “Don’t Stunt”
>>> Why a 6:00 song? That’s too long…! Hearin’ tha beat & it’s pretty laidback, once again; not sure if I can last 360 seconds…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad, here; a day in tha Boot? Hearin’ tha hook & it aight; can’t complain, I guess… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds okay; glad you luv tha Rouge…! Got tha 3rd verse, here & it decent…; can’t say much… My Rating: 3.6

06. “If I Die 2 Day”
>>> Slow, sappy vibe & hook; I’ono… However, it sounds like a good 1st verse, here… Bloodin’, wit dem “red Chuck Taylor’s on [yo] feet?” All about da red, baby! Also, you “just made 21,” as well? Good ta know you a ‘78/’79 baby, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & I don’t really have a comment for it; this track too slow… Got tha 3rd verse & damn, “12 years on parole?” Crazy…! Got tha 4th verse, here & it’s ehh; why so many verses? My Rating: 3.3

07. “Paranoid”
>>> Sounds like a good beat & hook you got goin’ on, here… Got tha 1st verse goin’ on & it sounds like a good track; nice job… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it str8; I like what you bring to tha south, at times… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it cool; sounds like a nice lil’ track, overall… My Rating: 3.8

08. “Bar None”
>>> Sounds like a laidback track from tha west, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good; I feel ya, here… Got tha hook, here & it sounds like you got tha hype goin’ on wit this “Bar None” shit; nice…! Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; can’t say much… Keepin’ tha 3rd verse goin’ wit dat real shit, here; sounds good… My Rating: 3.8

½time: Afta tha really-catchy 1st track, it seems like this CD’s a lil’ too slow fa me… Only a 3.6-rated CD, so far; I know you gotta have mo ta offer…!

09. “Caught Up!!”
>>> Sounds like tha west, again, or somewhere that’s not Louisiana, on tha beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like some good shit fa tha real-life situations… Got tha hook goin’ on & it’s anotha strange one fa me; not feelin’ this singin’… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it’s kinda ehh…; not sure how much I can keep this vibe in my interest… My Rating: 3.3

10. “Do What I Gotta Do”
>>> Damn, “Sexual Healing” in tha background, smh? No interest, basically… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it aight wit tha rhymes… Not feelin’ tha hook; sounds random & off-beat… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it ain’t bad; damn, more than two minutes left!! Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it’s that random vibe you’re tryna spit; gotcha. Lil’ shout out list, toward tha end; not bad… My Rating: 2.6

11. “Reasons”
>>> Your vocals/delivery sounds too soft fa me, here, on tha 1st verse; soft beat, too… Tha hook sounds like it’s remakin’/quotin’ “It Ain’t My Fault”, here; good, tho tha opposite of that song’s hype? Tha rest of this decent; can’t believe it’s short! My Rating: 3.4

12. “Organized 2000”
>>> Sounds like an okay 1st verse, here; glad you got more aggression in yo voice…! Beat’s still on tha laidback side; guess you don’t like hyped-up tracks? Tha hook sounds okay; fa tha hood, here… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; not much ta say… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; nice lil’ hood song, overall… My Rating: 3.5

13. “Bad Niggaz”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ song fa tha old streetz? Beat sounds like somethin’ from tha early ‘90s, here… Hook reminds me of somethin’ from tha west wit tha sample goin’ on, here; not bad/catchy, I guess… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it ain’t bad; I feelz it… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it’s strictly a ‘90s party in tha streetz, wit how you come through wit it… Now, we got an outro ova a minute long; rep it up…! My Rating: 3.6

14. “Throw ‘Em Up”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ laidback vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like you livin’ dat street life, on tha I & all dat, “bumpin’ C-Loc;” nice… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds nice fa tha cities of tha Boot ta “give [you] luv;” good job… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds good, as well… Oh, tha 2nd hook leaves tha Boot & goes ta all these non-Louisiana states & cities, smh; nothin’ but Louisiana in my heart! Damn, tha outro, like, two minutes long! A lil’ too long, even tho it felt nice & calm? My Rating: 3.7

15. “And U Know This!”
Radio edit? >>> Yea, it iz… See #2 fa tha review…

16. “Da Ghetto Never Sleeps”
>>> Sounds like a “ghetto” vibe, here; nice lil’ slow beat & 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good; nice lil’ southern vibe fa tha undaground… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on & it ain’t bad, here; I digz it… Keepin’ tha track goin’ wit tha 3rd verse, soundin’ nice wit whomeva you collabin’ with; not bad… My Rating: 3.6

Overall: This CD was a lil’ too laidback fa me & some of it ain’t even sound like it was from 2000; a lil’ dated? I think you deserve some club bangaz…!

Review #1,643: 5-Deuce "Organized Kriminalz"

Reviewed on 2.10.2017 (Review #1,643)

Finally, I have entered tha year 1998 in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon!! We’ll see how long it takes me to complete tha year of 1998 off! For now, let’s kick off tha year with Baton Rouge’s 5-Deuce Organized Kriminalz, released on Paroled Entertainment! Start Time: 1:40 AM | End Time: 2:42 AM

01. Intro
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ intro, here, as if you were hosting somethin’; good, simple beat, too… My Rating: N/A

02. “Gimme Luv”
>>> Kickin’ off tha rhymes wit my birthday!! Who woulda guessed?! “June 21, 1993;” a few years later, but still, definitely nice ta hear! Almost thought you said, “June 2,” or somethin’, lol! Beat sounds pretty funky and laidback, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ decent/good… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s simple, but nice… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty good, as well… We got tha 3rd verse, here, and it’s soundin’ nice ta hear, as well… My Rating: 4.1

03. “It Ain’t My Fault”
>>> Sounds good for a calm-soundin’ song, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ nice, here, even tho real quiet? Soft vibe… Tha hook’s pretty calm, too; good shit… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it sounds like a nice lil’ gangsta tale, in such a calm way of deliverin’! We got tha 3rd verse, here, and I almost thought it was a different dude… Either way, sounds good… My Rating: 4.2

04. “I’m Down Wit It”
>>> Keepin’ tha calm vibes goin’ along, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds like some good rappin’, here; dope… Tha hook sounds simple and good, here; can’t complain about it… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ regular, here… I’ono how much longer I can take these calm, simple beats, tho… I hope it changes up as we go! My Rating: 3.8

05. “Organized”
>>> This sounds a lil’ betta, here, as far as tha production goes…; feelin’ tha mysterious vibes! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty good, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s soundin’ good… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s off to a good start, here… Feelin’ what you bringin’ to tha table, here… More comin’ outta this, here, wit tha 3rd verse, soundin’ nice ta hear… I swear, I keep thinkin’ there’s more voices than just one, on some of these tracks… My Rating: 4.2

06. “Caught Up!! (Convicted Felonies Ride)”
>>> Sounds like a novelty-like beat, here? Decent… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds decent wit these hood-like rhymes… Hearin’ tha hook from tha mysterious male singer and it flows with tha era, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it sounds like you got shit on lock, here? My Rating: 3.7

07. “Da Ghetto Never Sleep”
>>> A decent lil’ beat, once again, smh… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good wit what you’re bringin’ to tha table, here… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha hook, here, soundin’ pretty nice and a lil’ hyped-up… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s a lil’ random wit tha way tha lyrics are flowin’, but it’s ehh… Kinda wantin’ to fall asleep after tha 2nd verse ended; seemed outta place? A slow-soundin’ 3rd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice… My Rating: 3.5

½time: Most of tha production’s pretty weak, here, as not much iz happenin’ wit most of tha beats… Rhymes ain’t too bad; stories kinda dope… A 3.9-rated CD, so far; let’s see what’s next…

08. “If I Die 2 Day”
>>> Beat’s still a lil’ dry, but some nice lil’ eerie voices/sounds in tha background, here? Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds a lil’ chill wit how you rap, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice, even tho I ain’t got a “smile.” Mines iz more that I’m stressed out to try and complete so many objectives that I started so many years ago! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, here, and it’s soundin’ decent… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse, here, and it’s soundin’ decent, as well… My Rating: 4.0

09. “Bar None”
>>> Sounds like a slightly-betta beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s kinda catchy… It’s almost as like you’re tryna create an anthemic track, here, even tho your flow’s so dry, as far as your hype… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ decent, so far… Keepin’ it movin’ with tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ decent, here… My Rating: 3.9

10. “Bad Niggaz”
>>> Boring beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it just sounds like regular-soundin’ rappin’ fa tha undaground… You got tha “dope game”-type content on lock, here, but tha flow/beat’s what’s makin’ me wanna sleep! Tha hook’s pretty simple wit just a sample, here, wit tha title… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ decent… How this 5:25?! Too dry fa that long!! Shoulda ended in a few seconds…! Tha 3rd verse iz here and it sounds straight, as well… And, a long outro of shout outs, here… My Rating: 3.6

11. “Caught Up! (Misdemeanor Ride) (Clean Version)”
Iz this tha same as #06? >>> It iz! See #6 fa tha review!

12. “Gimme Luv (No Contest Ride) (Clean Version)”
#02, again?? >>> Yup! See #2 fa tha review!

13. “Throw It Up”
>>> Decent lil’ beat, once again, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ good; can’t complain, even tho I feel bored… Weird that tha hook says, “Gimme luv,” and then, this title? Almost thought it was “Gimme Luv”! Decent hook, at that… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ decent, here… What tha hell with tha last of this? At least two minutes of a beat/random talkin’? My Rating: 3.6

14. “Do What I Gotta Do”
>>> “Sexual Healing” in tha background? Ugh… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s whateva… Tha hook sounds like you’re tryna have a hyped-up track. However, this still too soft… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ decent, as far as tha rappin’ goes… Tha rest of this iz ehh… My Rating: 2.6

15. “Hallucinating”
>>> Sounds like a dope title/topic, here, but it’s too soft fa me… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s aight… Tha content of “hallucinating” in tha hood’s definitely on-n-poppin’, here, but it’s too soft wit tha beat! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ aight, here, as well… Kinda likin’ tha hook a lot betta, now, as far as that “trigga” goes… And, a 3rd verse, here, as y’all keepin’ it movin’, here… When I say, “Y’all,” it’s kinda like me hearin’ extra voices that are uncredited? My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Pretty-much all tha beats were too soft fa me ta really enjoy… Tha content of tha tracks were definitely nice and tha rappin’ was nice. However, tha songs, overall, sounded a lil’ dry/decent… Either way, there’s more from you in my marathon, comin’ up! Stay tuned!!
