Review #268: Tim Smooth & Too Cool "Straight Up Drivin' 'Em"
Reviewed
on 7.10.2009
(Review #268)
FrankieThaLuckyDog in tha buildin'... Set a record yesterday fa doin' 7 reviewz! Now, today, I got a new MacBook laptop! My commercials game gon shake back soon!! Fa now, continuing tha marathon wit this next CD: Tim Smooth & Too Cool "Straight Up Drivin' 'Em"! Lookin' forward ta this one, as Tim Smooth'll do tha damn thang wit his patna! Start Time: 6:15 PM | End Time: 7:31 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

reviewed on 7.10.2009 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.
01. "Comin' Real Wit't"
Startin' off wit a 5:50 length song!! This should be a nice introduction ta this CD!! >>> Startin' off wit a lil' bit of West Coast style in tha beat here. Tha 1st verse here iz startin' off catchy. Nice job on that 1st verse, as tha catchiness paid off. Tha 2nd verse here has that same feel as tha 1st verse; nice shit fa tha hood! Tha 3rd verse, just like I said, keeps it consistent. I luv how these verses feel like they have mo than 16 bars! Nice, long outro too. My Rating: 3.9
02. "Used Car"
LOL @ tha title, yet only a second less in length than tha last song! This should be just like tha last song, but maybe betta? >>> Betta lyrics here fa tha hood; nice 1st verse here. Nice car lyrics in tha 2nd verse here. Ooh, I like that "drove ta Baton Rouge" part! Definitely thought tha 2nd verse was nice. Nice attitude on your half on tha 3rd verse. Nice song right here wit a nice West Coast style! Ooh, a skit at tha end... Really likin' it! My Rating: 4.2
03. "Got Me Fucked Up"
This looks like this gon be even betta! You know when Tim Smooth on a CD, it's official! >>> Nice start to tha 1st verse wit "I'm in a world surrounded in competition." I also like tha way you said "dizznick;" nice lil' slang right there, lol. Good job on tha 1st verse, and that hook sounds nice; good shit! Here comes tha 2nd verse here, more on tha females side... LMFAO @ "this lil' Indian lookin' bitch..." Tha 3rd verse sounds like nothin' iz in yo way when it comes ta this Rap shit; nice feelin'. I like how you said, "dawg," right befo tha 3rd verse ended. My Rating: 4.1
04. "Why They Sell Dope"
Keepin' tha titles REAL GREAT here, so let's keep tha songs REAL GREAT too!! >>> Interesting beat... I thought I had heard it before? Gangsta start in tha behavior described in tha 1st verse wit tha "shootin' people" parts described. I like tha "presidents like my pocket was tha white house" or w/e that line was. Because of that line, I have ta see if I reviewed it in tha past... *Checks* Yea, from tha 1991 release "I Gotsta Have It". Here's what I originally said: Cool beat on this one. Not bad fa a start, yet good. I like tha “I want presidents in my pocket like my pants was tha white house” line!! Interesting about tha “workin’ fa white folks or sellin’ dope” line. Interesting song, so thumbs up on tha whole thing, especially tha mix of tha story/lyrical content and tha beat. To Add: I like it betta now, so I'll increase tha rating a lil'. My Current Rating: 4.2
05. "There You Go"
Don't know what ta say... >>> LOL @ tha singin' in tha hook: "Them bitches just...;" feelin' it. I liked tha "aye, nigga... aye, nigga..." part that came outta nowhere. I also like at 1:50 wit tha "you my dawg, bruh" <- 2 words I REALLY like back 2 back! I felt like there wasn't much ta this song, but it ain't bad. My Rating: 3.6
06. "Fraeal Macdaddy"
LOL @ tha title (no less, tha length keeps decreasin' by 1 minute). >>> Sounds like it gon be a dirty song, lol? Sounds interesting; what a mix here in tha lyrics here, lol. LOL @ "I don't stop slangin' cock 'til ya face hurt!" Pretty good 1st verse, and tha 2nd verse here, umm... it sounds like it havin' anotha catchy sound ta it. My Rating: 3.8
07. "I Don't Give A Damn About Your Boyfriend"
I saw this title when I was checkin' fa tha otha song... Here was tha previous review: A slower beat this time… Tha flowin’ sounds pretty good wit tha slowness. I like tha “but fuckin’ you iz a challenge, and fuckin’ her iz so easy” line. Also, I like tha “ya heard me” part too. Glad there’s more sexual lyrics in this one; great job on Verse 1! Interesting “pussy” story (hiding it also from otha dudes) in tha 2nd verse! This continued to be good wit tha short 3rd verse too. My Current Rating: 4.4
½time: Well, we all know Tim Smooth don't fail wit this shit, and this CD right here wit Too Cool iz "too cool" when it comes ta this Rap shit, ya heard me!
08. "I Remember"
Back to tha songs I didn't hear yet. I wonder what'll come outta this? >>> Pretty good lyrics goin' on here in tha 1st verse, and tha hook iz pretty nice. Tha 2nd verse here iz describin' yo life. Wow, strong start ta tha 3rd verse wit "daddy, I wouldn't give you tha yard my dog piss in" or w/e it was! Pretty strong song here about your dad. My Rating: 3.7
09. "Like Dat" Feat. Playache & Bust Down
Ooh, featured people on this bitch (5:44 on tha length too)!! Lookin' forward ta see what y'all come up wit together! >>> Nice lil' intro of talkin'. Tha 1st verse here (from Playache?) sounds a lot like Eazy E here. I like tha "smell tha smoke" part; nice short 1st part of tha 1st verse! Here comes tha 2nd part from (I think) you... Pretty good. It was real short 'cause tha 1st dude iz back, and had just spit some real good lyrics! I like tha "feel tha heat from my muthafuckin' nut sack" part; raw! Now, it switched back ta you, and it's betta. Nice 4 parts in tha 1st verse! Interesting start ta tha 2nd verse wit tha "betta make it ta tha 12th grade" part. More sharin' in tha verse as (I think) you're on tha 2nd part here. I like tha imitation of that "flex, uh. Time ta have sex-a!" song! Tha 3rd verse iz nice and sexual; really feelin it right now, especially wit tha alternation of tha people on tha verse! My Rating: 4.0
10. "Pazdaswisha"
Was wonderin' what tha title was 'til I typed it... Cool title (of "pass da swisha"), so I'm lookin' forward!!! >>> Pretty good beat, as well as a nice imitation of "Pass The Dutchie", lol! Nice lyrics goin' on here in tha 1st verse wit smokin' shit! Ooh, there's a skit in tha middle? Shiiiiid! Glad it's a smokin' interlude! Great shit right there, and now, tha 2nd verse! Great job on that 2nd verse right there! Tha 3rd verse iz here, and lol @ tha "you don't like blunts?!;" who doesn't? I like tha "swisha vs. swisha" part ta "see which one gon taste best;" GREAT CREATIVITY wit tha smokin'! Yea, a skit again at tha end!!! Nice ending, and REAL GREAT song!!! Great mix of song, swishaz & skits!! My Rating: 4.8
11. "Sleeping With The Enemy" Feat. M.C. Thick
Ooh, looks like a great collaboration! >>> Real nice beat intro here! Okay 1st verse here; nothin' ta really say. Sorry 'bout all tha "bills." Pretty good 2nd verse... I feel like that beat in tha hook overshadows tha whole song, lol!! Tha 3rd verse has some raw lyrics when you listen to their means ("takin' my daughter ta New Jersey 'til she 30"). I like tha "dawg" part at tha end of tha 3rd verse; I also realized it was at tha end of tha 2nd verse too! Ooh, what's tha busy tone at tha end? My Rating: 3.8
12. "House Fulla Ho's"
Ooh, a skit!!! >>> LOL, it's not! I assumed 'cause it was 1:19 on tha length. This shit sounds hot!! Interesting verse here wit tha title repeatin' afta every 2 lines! My Rating: 4.3
13. "What's The Matter"
Tha title perfectly anticipates me ta wonder "what tha hell's wrong wit you?" from tha end of tha last song! >>> Okay start, interesting start to tha 1st verse. It sounds like tha beat iz str8 ol' skool Hip-Hop right chea! Great job on that 1st verse. Let's see this 2nd verse... Yea, "everyday can't be a fuckin' felony;" why they gotta charge Hip-Hop dudes wit so much shit? Interesting lyrics in tha 3rd verse about "gettin' fucked" when it comes ta gettin' your way wit thingz. My Rating: 3.8
14. "My Dogz"
Alwayz a long-ass song at tha end, huh? LOL... 5:59 on tha length. >>> Interesting lyrics in tha 1st verse wit tha "tha streetz was his field, but he got killed" type line. Pretty good lyrical song here; tha hook iz a typical hood person's type ("niggaz I grew up wit..."). Tha 2nd verse continued from where tha 1st verse left off, so thumbs up. Tha 3rd verse iz here, and tha lyrical content iz continuin' about what fucked up thangz be goin' on in tha hood. Sounds like it gon be a long outro wit at least 1:10 left. My Rating: 3.6
Overall: A pretty good CD right chea. I thought I was gonna luv more songs, but it's all good. Those 2 that were on tha "I Gotsta Have It" CD paid off ta be on here. You know y'all did tha damn thang in Louisiana; keep it up!
