Review #1,722: "Go Tuff" Mixtape

Reviewed on 5.09.2017 (Review #1,722)

Been a lil’ minute since I did some reviewz… Got thrown off with Zoe Realla’s death, as I did a tribute video for him and then, just got caught up in tha 50-hour work week… But, here I am, finna review this mixtape I bought at Sundown. It’s a random compilation and I took a pic of tha tracklist… Here goes my review for tha Go Tuff mixtape… Start Time: 6:11 PM | End Time: 7:15 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Maintain x MFWeeThang “My Section”
This tha official 1st time I’m hearin’ Jungle Muzik Mafia’s WeeThang after meetin’ him, back on March 28, 2017! >>> Instant start, here; can’t imagine how I gon feel about all these tracks… I betcha this one #02, which tha “My Section” track. If that’s tha case, I gon review that one, here… Beat sounds nice fa tha Rouge; tha hook’s pretty nice, too… And, 1st time hearin’ WeeThang on tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ nice… At :48, we brought it back; sounds like a dope track… Once I met dude, I knew he had some sorta future, so I wish tha best of success fa him! Keepin’ it movin’ wit anotha WeeThang verse, here, soundin’ dope; good shit! Makes me wanna get back to tha Rouge ASAP! I hate that it’s $600 for a plane ticket, smh; why so much? Money ain’t an issue but why can’t it be, like, $400 or somethin’, tha most? My Rating: 4.5

02. C-Loc feat. Big Poppa & Micheal Sterling “Working These Hoes”
2013, here; a compilation? >>> Sounds like a catchy, club-like track, here, wit Loc on tha 1st verse… Loc wasn’t credited on tha back cover’s tracklist so I had to do my searchin’… Sometimes, I don’t expect club-type music from him but shit like this sounds pretty dope… Tha hook’s pretty catchy, here; good shit… Tha 2nd verse’s pretty nice wit this “gumbo” he providin’… And, tha Pop on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ good, as always… I remember back in tha day, I thought he was okay, but trash. Now, it’s like, I’m glad we hear from some of these people, now-a-dayz! And, let’s see how this Micheal Sterling dude gon be on tha 4th verse… “MySpace,” huh, lol? Oh yeah, this four years ago, which “MySpace” was kinda defunct just years before… Sounds like a good contribution; nice job, y’all… My Rating: 4.3

03. Brickfare Zeke feat. Scotty Cain “Down Dat”
>>> Sounds like an interestin’, good start, here… And, we get a beat from Austin, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t bad, here… Of course, I feel it; diggin’ tha gangsta-soundin’, dark sound, here… Speakin’ of dark, how about last Wednesday:

Went to tha abandoned graffiti highway up here during tha night and it was dope! Tomorrow night, in honor of my brother’s death anniversary, I’m goin’ to tha abandoned Concrete City; can’t wait! Pre-shootin’ some tribute videoz & gettin’ some photos done! With tha hook, it’s definitely dope, here; good shit! Definitely feelin’ it! However, I’ono what this iz! “100 pounds, I broke it down to 100 zips;” feelin’ it! “Down That Bitch” iz this title? My Rating: 4.2
EDIT: Lil’ would I know that I’d randomly Shazam it and it’d come up! Brickfare Zeke feat. Scotty Cain “Down Dat”! This tha track that’s not on tha back cover…

04. Mista Cain feat. Scotty Cain “No Shootas”
My Current Rating: 4.4

05. Mula Pugh “Downlow”
>>> I’m really likin’ this start, whateva this iz… Sounds like some good Rouge music on tha 1st verse and tha beat from Austin, here; good shit! Tha hook sounds good; of course, gotta keep shit on tha “downlow.” Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, as they “eat that thang up fa lunch,” here; chomp, chomp! My Rating: 4.2

06. Mula Pugh “Plottin’ On Ya”
>>> I’ono how much I can feel this one… “It’s retarded, it’s retarded” beat tag, here… Not really feelin’ this voice, that much… At times, I like it but at times, it sounds annoying… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s ehh; tha voice throws me off too much… Don’t recognize this one… “People countin’ on me… They plottin’ on me…” Oh, now I recognize it… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s not bad, as well, now that I know who it iz… Still, a lil’ yada-yada-yada-yada wit this dude… Tha previous song was better, as well as tha voice… A Kevin Gates-sampled outro, here? My Rating: 3.6

07. Mula Pugh “TBH”
>>> Beat’s ehh, here… Just sounds like a regular voice, here, with nothin’ special to offer… Ugh, anotha Mula one, again? Whoeva burned this CD completely didn’t follow tha tracklist and just shoved tha same artists back to back, smh… But yeah, this worse than tha previous song; not feelin’ tha mainstream shit, here… My Rating: 2.2

08. S-8ighty feat. Lil’ Wayne “Halfway (Remix)”
Was almost like, “I know this one; why this mainstream shit on here?” Then again, I remember it soundin’ bounce-y, so I believe it’s New Orleans or somethin’… >>> Ewe!! Let’s pretend I’m deaf in both ears, right now…! Keep it in tha mainstream, not on my underground CDs! Hate how tha 2nd verse sounds like Drake, at times, even tho it Weezy! Also, clean version; really? My Rating: 1.2

09. Sheppard “Whole Week”
>>> Instant start, here; sounds pretty nice, in a way, on this hook… Not likin’ these instant starts that rewind after a few seconds… Same Sheppard as tha Lil’ Sheppard? I think so… Dude sound like he neva fell off; great to have that motivation! “Smokin’ blunts and poppin’ molly;” crazy dude! Hearin’ tha verse and it’s aight; fuck that stupid “get to tha money” shit that repeats so many times, smh! Couldn’t come up wit somethin’ else there? My Rating: 4.0

½time: Only a 3.6-rated compilation, so far; can be better! A lil’ trashy with tha mainstream-soundin’ bullshit but there’s some nice tracks on here… Let’s see what we have left…

10. T.E.C. & Maine Musik “Ain’t No Comin’ Down”
>>> Sounds dope wit that intro in tha streetz; good shit… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice; feelin’ tha Rouge shit! “It’s up there!” Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ nice ta hear, strictly comin’ through on this faster beat! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, here; lots of rappin’ and a jammin’ beat, ya dig, lol…?! And, tha 3rd verse’s pretty nice, here; good shit! Rowdy endin’; lots of talkin’ wit tha crazy hook goin’ off… My Rating: 4.1

11. Thug Brothers “Go Tuff”
>>> This sounds like a dope start; dabbin’ in tha beginnin’, here? Expectin’ somethin’ dope, here!! Easily sounds like tha top song on here? Definitely feelin’ tha energy in tha beat and how dem Brothers comin’ through, here! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and you already know, energetic!! Damn, this 48-second intro wit tha rewindin’ again! Damn! Again, 47 seconds later, anotha rewind? I’ono, but all tha rewindin’ kinda blends in nicely wit this vibe! A crazy length of 5:52, here! Oh, finally, we have a full 1st verse! Love how dude don’t stop on tha 1st verse; “ran off on tha plug twice!” Damn…! Iz this what tha jiggaz bring, lol? Definitely lovin’ it!! So glad I finally got to see jiggaz!! Can’t deny tha 2nd verse, ya know? No matter what’s spit, it’s still nice! Funny how I mentioned jiggaz and now, y’all jiggin’! Pretty crazy, once again! And, tha ending, here, soundin’ like tha beginning, still pretty crazy! An ending, here; sounds like samples from a music video or somethin’, lol? Random rippin’? My Rating: 4.4

12. WNC “Run Up”
>>> Here comes a “Run Up, Get Done Up” track; can’t imagine who it iz… Either way, beat’s pretty nice and so iz tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and dude pretty energetic; a jiggalater at its finest?! This tha 1st time I’m hearin’ this dude; pretty nice, here! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, still soundin’ energetic; gotta love it! My Rating: 4.3

13. A.T.G. “Started Sumthin’”
>>> Feelin’ tha energetic intro, here; can’t wait ta hear! Shit-ton of rhymes on tha 1st verse, here; definitely feelin’ tha agility!! Now, a Baton Rouge-soundin’ beat? Did it rewind? Guess so… “Bitch, you—bitch, you—bitch, you—bitch, you shouldn’t started nothin’!” Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty dope; insane speed and lyrics!! Hearin’ tha rest and it’s pretty dope, too; gotta luv tha craziness! My Rating: 4.5

14. Boosie Badazz feat. Mista Cain “Big Blue Hundreds”
>>> Can tell it sounds like a Boosie track… Do I sound strange to say that I’m feelin’ this? Not my kinda title/topic but it sounds nice wit this beat and Boosie presence, I guess? I hope people don’t take this shit serious, as far as they have to carry “big blue hundreds!” Oh, here we go wit tha Mista shit on tha 2nd verse, smh… He did a nice job but how many times we gotta hear him? A Boosie verse on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice… Gonna make this a guilty pleasure rating, here… My Rating: 4.2

15. B Will feat. Boosie Badazz, Shu & J Day “Lil’ Shooter”
>>> This one’s five minutes long; here we go… Ain’t expect it to be tha Boosie track wit tha sound of this, but I had a feelin’ it was gon be two Boosie tracks, back to back… I think whoeva did tha back cover fucked this one up; this ain’t no Boosie… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it ain’t bad… Oh, I have tha full ID, here: B Will feat. Boosie Badazz, Shu & J Day “Lil’ Shooter”! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ a lil’ betta… Kinda luvin’ how they’re obsessed with this “shooter,” here; ain’t thank y’all fucked wit supportin’ other people! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s not bad, here; diggin’ a lil’ more of an aggressive vibe, here… Here comes Boosie at 3:44, comin’ through wit tha pure aggression… My Rating: 3.8

16. Brickfare Zeke “On Ya Head”
>>> Instant start; I’m expectin’ it to rewind, smh! Yeah, :11 in; prolly’ll happen again… Yup; let’s see what we got… Sounds like a nice hook, here, between tha beat and content… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ like he off some jiggaz or somethin’, wit this “Yaba-Daba-Doo” shit, lol… My Rating: 4.0

17. Brickfare Zeke x Scotty Cain “Stick Out”
>>> Anotha instant start…; prolly tha other Zeke track? Got La’Keith doin’ this beat; leggo! Got tha “dick out,” here, on tha hook; definitely dope and energetic, here, ya dig? Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, doin’ tha crazy thang, here… I see how tha “dick” iz used as “tha one that go up in tha glock, not tha bitch mouth,” just so y’all know! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ nice from Scotty, here; nothin’ much else ta say… Definitely a catchy track, right chea; y’all dope! My Rating: 4.3

18. Da Real Gee Money “Take It There”
Lol!! My Current Rating: 4.9

19. Jay Lewis feat. T.E.C., Maine Musik & Geaux Yella “Ain’t My Round”
>>> Don’t sound like a good ending… Sounds like it gon be a 1.0-rated track wit this dumb auto-tune shit… A BlaqNmilD beat, here… No interest from me wit tha 1st verse, here… Tha 2nd verse a lil’ betta but whateva… And, at 2:28, it sound like a heartbeat; why a music video on tha CD? Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and it’s ehh; why am I commentin’ when I keep hearin’ auto-tune, smh? I have to say, this worse than tha S-8ighty track… I was right about tha rating from when I first heard tha first second of it! My Rating: 1.0

Overall: Not too bad, overall… At least there was a good mix of tha Rouge on here… Too bad some shitty mainstream-soundin’ shit had to knock tha average CD rating down…

R.I.P. Video #55: Zoe Realla

Recorded April 29, 2017

Broadcasting from tha West Mountain Sanitarium near Scranton, PA, it's ya boy, FrankieThaLuckyDog here, sadly reportin' anotha tragic loss in tha Louisiana rap community...

Lorenzo Dixon, better known by his stage name, Zoe Realla, was shot multiple times on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at around 2:30 PM at Yo Way Audio, located at 4149 Winbourne Ave. in Baton Rouge, LA. According to authorities, Dixon suffered multiple gunshot wounds while sitting in a vehicle at a parking lot, getting his car cleaned. He was later taken to a local hospital where he was fighting for his life. Sadly, on tha morning of Friday, April 28, 2017, Dixon succumbed to his injuries. Dixon would've turned only 33 years-old on May 31 and leaves behind his girlfriend and his two sons.

Dixon began rappin' as just "Zoe" and started off rappin' with tha likes of Baton Rouge rapper, Big Blaze, as well as fuckin' with Baton Rouge DJ, Big Jay. He was first featured on Big Jay's Pyrex Radio Vol. 5: Back To The Money compilation in 2007 with tha songs, "Dumb Shit (Remix)" featuring Baton Rouge rappers, Big Blaze, Teflon Pit, Racked-Up Ready, B.T. & Young Crucial, as well as "Snitch", featuring Baton Rouge fallen rapper, Nu$$ie. In 2012, he started goin' by his full stage name, "Zoe Realla." According to his manager, D'Mari Harding, of Travis James Entertainment, tha name "Zoe" was a childhood nickname and "Realla" meant that he "always kept it real with his family and friends." Dixon was featured on Baton Rouge DJ, DJ Wookee's Crook III compilation with tha song, "Goodnight (Intro)". In 2013, Dixon signed with Baton Rouge heavyweight, Travis James' Travis James Entertainment and would also release music on his own imprint, Kreature Lyfe Mentality. From 2013 - 2017, Dixon would be featured on more CDs from Baton Rouge's Lee Banks, Big Jay, Ponchatoula's Lil' Cali, Racked-Up Ready, Baton Rouge's Byrd, C-Loc, Brickfare Zeke, Napoleonville's Dirty Harry, Baton Rouge's Mula Pugh, Rambo K Kutta & Squirm G, TBG Gang & Ray Vicks. In 2015, Dixon released his debut EP, Bloody Murda (Promo EP), as well as his 1st full mixtape, Shit Just Got Realla (Hosted by DJ Chill). Keepin’ some of these older reviewz goin’, next up, I got Byrd Possession With Intent, here. I first heard of Square Bizness Byrd last year, when he was featured on Baton Rouger, Bubba’s “I’ma Hustle” track. Now, it’s time he get some shine, sponsored by Square Bizness Only & Road Runners! Start Time: 5:22 PM | End Time: 7:14 PM

© 2016 CD Review (Review #1,596) reviewed on 11.14.2016 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Introduction (Y.N.)”
>>> Sounds anticipatin’ with this Q-Red beat! Hearin’ you on tha verse and it sounds like you’re really energetic fa these streetz! I thought you were a lil’ more laidback but this iz pretty pure! Nice rhymes, holdin’ it down for tha streetz consistently! My Rating: 4.4

02. “Kilo”
>>> Anotha one from Q-Red! Likin’ how tha beginning keeps me anticipated in a delaying way! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice with this “kilo!” Sounds like one of those great anthems fa tha Baton Rouge streetz! Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ pretty nice, here, with how you holdin’ it down! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ great, as well! Damn! Why 43 seconds of silence at tha end? My Rating: 4.2

03. “Lite Work” feat. Kevin Gates
>>> Keepin’ tha Q-Red beats comin’, what’s with this Gates shit in tha 1st verse? Are tha features not listed? If so, here’s Gates on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some consistent rhymes! Fuck! Tha feature not on tha filename but it iz on tha site! Anyway, tha hook’s pretty nice and simple; I can fuck wit it… Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice ta hear! Good shit, consistently comin’ through wit it! Good shit goin’ on wit tha 3rd verse, here, as you’re one of them celebs you gotta luv in tha undaground! My Rating: 4.3

04. “Out Da Mudd” feat. Niyo Da Vinci
Niyo Da Vinci beat… >>> Decent beat, but fuck this Niyo-featured dude with his gay-ass voice! 0% interest in tha hook! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds good… “Same clothes fa two dayz;” of course! When you grindin’ so much, you gotta! Hate those that gotta be all insecure and super-clean, smh! Tha 2nd verse from you ain’t too bad; sounds good, too… You really could’ve done it without that dumb feature on tha hook, ruinin’ err-thang, includin’ your potential at a five-star-rated CD! My Rating: 3.4

05. “Stunt Down” feat. Zoe Realla
>>> Q-Red! Q-Red! Q-Red! Sounds like you’re into a club vibe, here, on tha hook; good shit! Likin’ how tha both of y’all team up on tha 2nd ½ of tha hook! Q doin’ tha damn thang on tha beat and you providin’ all tha energy/aggression on tha 1st verse! Zoe on tha 2nd verse, soundin’ nice ta blend in with your energy… He more laidback ta help you out, here, while you aggressively handled this track well! My Rating: 4.4
EDIT: Now that I finally found tha back cover—courtesy of DatPiff—I see that this was produced by Q-Red AND B-Real!! Lol!!

06. “Head Down”
>>> Q-Red doin’ tha beat, once again! Again, it sounds exciting ta hear and I can’t wait ta see how you gon hold this one down! Good shit wit how you comin’ through wit it on tha 1st verse! Energy and quality, undaground rap at its finest!! Tha hook’s pretty nice! Just diggin’ your style at all times! Tha 2nd verse’s pretty nice, too! I’ono, but I’m just diggin’ this vibe, here! Both “Down” tracks; which one do I like betta? Gonna have to tie ‘em! My Rating: 4.4

07. “Behind A Bitch”
Niyo Da Vinci beat… >>> Damn! Don’t think I’m feelin’ your voice on tha hook, here! Fail! Beat kinda nice, but with this voice effect you applyin’ to your voice, here, I prolly gon say tha beat more mainstream… Ehh! Can’t tolerate it on tha 1st verse! You gon lose a lotta points!! At times, it kinda sounds like your voice iz normal but I’m guessin’ I’m dreamin’ or somethin’? Fa’get this… My Rating: 2.3

08. “Stick Up” feat. Ym Flow & Nino Wavey
No credit to Nino Wavey, here… >>> More of tha Q-to-tha-Red! Again!! Here we go with tha gay-ass voices!! Switchin’ it up to you on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit a normal voice, luckily… Even tho a gay featured voice in tha beginning, it sounds nice on this hook part, a lil’… Only that Q-Red beat slammin’ on tha hook blends in with it so it don’t so gay… Hearin’ tha dude on tha 1st verse (Ym Flow) and it’s pretty gay; fuck this random-ass shit! You on tha 2nd verse, here, spittin’ some nice rhymes ova this beat… My Rating: 3.1

½time: Only a 3.8-rated CD, so far. Most of this shit goes hard and iz tight. Only shit that’s makin’ it suck iz all tha random auto-tune bullshit. A few of tha features had auto-tune in their voices to fuck tha tracks up; even you had it! But, I hope tha best for tha rest! Q-Red holdin’ most of tha production down, too, at least!

09. “I Lean” feat. Zeek & Scotty Cain
No credit to tha features till I found tha back cover… Niyo Da Vinci beat… >>> G…A…Y…!! Too bad my wish failed on just seconds in!! Too bad I gon put up with this while I have so much shit to do… Just not diggin’ how you sound, here, but I’m likin’ tha calm/relaxin’ rap beat… I could appreciate this more if you had a normal voice! Fuck this, overall! My Rating: 2.6

10. “Look Like This” feat. Q-Red
Q-Red feature!! >>> Of course, Q-Red on tha beat, too! Can’t wait ta hear! Hope nothin’ disappoints!! At least tha beat A+, here! Anthemic and energetic at its finest! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice; gotta luv it! Tha hook’s pretty nice, too, doin’ tha damn thang! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, too, as you’re holdin’ it down! Q-Red on tha feature, but where he at? It’s you on tha 3rd verse, soundin’ nice! Well, he not really on tha feature; just on tha beat, here… I’ll still keep it positive and keep him in tha feature, tho! My Rating: 4.4

11. “Bring It Back” feat. Scotty Cain
B-Real beat! >>> Beat sounds nice ta hear, here… Hearin’ tha hook from you and it ain’t bad, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it pretty good, holdin’ tha streetz down with your flashyness… Hearin’ Scotty on tha 2nd verse and ehh, kinda ruins tha vibe with tha “money” shit, right away… Not too bad of a verse except that it sounds cocky… My Rating: 3.9

12. “All Day” feat. C-Stone The Bread Winner
Neva heard of C-Stone… >>> I honestly hope it’s real good with this Q-Red beat holdin’ tha intro down!! You doin’ tha damn thang on tha 1st verse, here, consistently holdin’ it down on this beat! Here comes this C-Stone dude on tha 2nd verse and damn, he kicked off his verse with “money,” too… I think he flows nicely ova this Q-Red beat. Maybe, his future iz like yours: Rap over Q-Red beats, don’t you think? My Rating: 4.3

13. “Jail” feat. Brickfare Zeke & Scotty Cain
Niyo Da Vinci beat, again… >>> Beat sounds cool, here, and it sounds nice wit how you want them to “get outta jail,” here, on tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and you handlin’ this shit nicely, ova this beat! That Brickfare dude on tha 2nd verse? Why he 2nd in tha featured ID? Dickridin’? Gonna flip ‘em… It ain’t too bad of a verse, here… Hearin’ Scotty on tha 3rd verse and it sounds a lil’ betta; decent/catchy fa tha streetz… Really likin’ tha keys on tha outro to this beat! My Rating: 4.0

14. “Wonder Why” feat. Scotty Cain & Dame Cain
Neil On The Track beat… >>> Sounds pretty good with tha beat and how tha 1st verse’s comin’ along; nice job with tha street shit… Here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some real-life shit, here… I think I like tha 1st verse betta, but it still good ta hear you wit a normal voice! And, anotha Cain-rapped verse on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ good… My Rating: 3.8

15. “I Know” feat. Trump Da Don
Niyo Da Vinci on tha beat, tho… >>> Beat’s pretty nice and pure, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, doin’ ya thang… Well, too bad this tha same exact song as #13! “Jail”! I knew it sounded familiar! Fuck!! Gonna have to skip this until I can hear it somewhere…
2nd Try: Ooh, I got it from DatPiff, tha only correct source! And, a back cover, where I gon update tha producer credits on this review! Lemme hear… >>> Prolly shoulda neva found it! Fuck this auto-tune bullshit!! Now, here you are with a normal voice, on tha 2nd verse, spittin’ some good shit. Either way, I have no interest in this whatsoever, thanx to Trump!! My Rating: 1.5

16. “Slow Lane” feat. Niyo Da Vinci & Scotty Cain
>>> Endin’ it wit a weak intro—ugh, that Niyo dude, again! Tha volume’s kinda quiet, here, and tha hook’s ehh; decent with your voice, tho… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it ain’t bad, here… Scotty on tha 2nd verse and he sounds pretty good, here; good shit… My Rating: 2.9

Overall: Thought this was gon turn out a lot better, especially with all tha Q-Red productions. However, quite often, there was shitty auto-tuned vocals ta ruin tha vibe. Imagine if we took out tha auto-tuned songs? You woulda had an extra 0.6 to your CD rating! But, there’s anotha CD of yours I’m peepin’ out now; can’t wait ta hear, tho! B-Real on tha production? Oh, boy! Preparin’ for his birthday tomorrow!!

Review #839: Zeke "The Shake Back"

Reviewed on 3.01.2011 (Review #839)

My 3rd review iz Zeke “The Shake Back”; don’t think I heard of this dude… I don’t have a tracklisting, either. Start Time: 8:20 PM | End Time: 8:39 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01.
>>> Tha production sounds pretty nice for a somewhat-unknown CD. I looked on my blog and your name came up wit Lil’ Sheppard; guess y’all fuck wit each other? Tight sounds from “Baton Rouge,” here, that you claimed! Good intro track, ya dig? “’07, ’08, ’09, even ’10;” what year dis from? I’ll consider it “’10.” My Rating: 4.2

02.
>>> I like tha hot beat in tha beginning as well as tha phone call; givin’ me some old, “Pyrex Radio”-type feelings, here, wit how dis sounds!! Ooh, tha hook’s pretty nice wit tha “kill dat—kill dat hatin’ shit!” :tu Real nice, here; good job deliverin’ tha rhymes, too! Tha flow’s pretty-hot, at tha same time! LOL, caught Lil’ Sheppard on tha 2nd verse; “Sheppard boy!” Great job wit tha collaboration; just added to tha tightness!! My Rating: 4.5

03.
>>> Tha beat start’s pretty creepy; I luv dis kinda shit!! “Toolin’ these niggaz”? Sounds pretty gutta to tha bone! Tha content’s nice, as well as how nice you come through, reppin’ fa “Strip Life”! My Rating: 4.4

04.
>>> SMH, why am I hearin’ dis beat?!? :confused What happened to tha original production? My Rating: 3.3

05.
>>> Can’t anticipate each beat bein’ original, now. :( At least we’re back ta normal, here, wit “’bout yo business” and shit; sounds a lil’ familiar? Likin’ tha content and shit! Sounds like Parktown Bone’s on tha 3rd verse as a feature? A lil’—he sounds more like a Lil’ Wayne. My Rating: 4.1

06.
>>> Not tha jacked shit again! Barely any interest although tha rhymes are a lil’ betta than #4. My Rating: 3.5

07.
>>> Not really inta this start… A lil’ betta than tha last joint and iz this featurin’ some “G Money” dude? My Rating: 3.6

½time: 3.9-rated CD; kinda losin’ interest from tha beginning…

08.
>>> SMFH!! This definitely has ta be ’07 ‘cause if this anything after, that’s a big no-no ‘cause this beat only lives durin’ those gay-ass, dick-suckin’ times!!! Barely any interest; I think Sheppard’s featured on dis one. My Rating: 3.4

09.
>>> No interest, here; nothin’ bad at tha same time… My Rating: 3.0

10.
>>> “Gotta—gotta have it” in tha hook, here; pretty catchy… Even though a “money”-obsessed song, this iz betta than some of tha shit on here. My Rating: 3.8

11.
>>> *Repeats what I said wit #8!* I think this a lil’ catchier but can’t take dis beat!! SMH @ givin’ “Mims” a shout out, too! My Rating: 3.5

12.
>>> I like tha voice in tha hook… Nice “Girbauds … Levis” part; catchy rhymes… I’m likin’ tha guttaness, too! My Rating: 3.9

13.
>>> A beat tag in tha beginning? Catchy-soundin’ joint, right here; that hook’s pretty nice. My Rating: 3.7

14.
>>> Some of tha ’06 shit like dis iz gay, now, too! Tha rhymes don’t even mat—ugh, not likin’ these “swag” and typical rhymes, either. My Rating: 2.0

15.
>>> Tha sound sounds more undaground, here; I’m likin’ dis. Tha content wit tha “we hustle—hustle, and grind—grind” sounds tight in tha hook! Good job wit tha song, overall! My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Not really that exciting fa me except tha 4.0+-rated songs!

01. “First Thang 1st”
Okay then, lol; let’s see what’s good… >>> Cool beat… Tha hook sounds good too wit how you comin’ through for yo hood. Tha 1st verse’s on some real shit dat sounds good. Tha 2nd verse sounds like it has good shit ta offer wit tha “click house” shit; nice job here… My Rating: 4.2

02. “Till Me Feet Sore” Feat. K-Harris & Lil’ Head
LOL @ this title!! ROFL… What will this sound like? >>> Tha beginning vocals sound like Santigold so I have anticipation here… Tha beat’s cool and it sounds good wit you on tha hook “reppin’ Oaktown.” Ooh, Head iz on tha 1st verse and it sounds tight; I’m feelin’ this 225-type voice!! LOL @ his “be tha 1st nigga wit Obama on tha 20” ending to tha 1st verse; he must be SO Obama’d by Obama, LMAO! Sounds like you on tha 2nd verse, spittin’ some “projects”-type shit. Nice job holdin’ it down wit ya fam! My Rating: 4.5

03. “They Like Me”
Just you this time; how will you do? >>> Different title on tha mp3 info? It says “They Like Me”; I’ll see what’s up here… For now, it sounds like a gr8 beat. Yuck, a Yung Joc sample; puke @ him… I guess I’ll just fix tha title to “They Like Me” ‘cause tha sample’s DEFINITELY not “duffy” or “retarded!” Pretty good 1st verse from you here; you doin’ ya thang. LOL, you said tha “Duffie Retarded” original title in tha beginning of tha 2nd verse. I like tha “Lil’ Hannibal / han-___-bars” part; good shit as you make this shit catchy. My Rating: 4.3

04. “How U Want It” Feat. Money Bagz & Lil’ Bubba
Looks familiar on tha title/features. Anyway, let’s see what we got here… >>> Oh, so it’s Lil’ Bubba? Then, was that Lil’ Head previously? I gon listen more but for now, tha beginning beat sounds anticipatin’… LOL, Bubba sounds pretty “thugged out” on tha 1st verse here. I like all tha “thug” shit before tha 1st verse ends. Bubba doin’ his thang here, ya dig! I fucks wit you, my boy!! Tha hook sounds cool; feelin’ tha collab here! You’re on tha 2nd verse and it sounds cool; good shit from you as you holdin’ it down fa err-body! Money Bagz doin’ his thang on tha 3rd verse; good job bein’ fam here! My Rating: 4.6

05. “Keep It Gangsta” Feat. G-Money & Cocaine
Definitely feelin’ tha ID so you KNOW I’ll look forward ta dis!! >>> I’m even anticipatin’ tha beat tag in tha beginning as this beat sounds pretty hot! Tha hook sounds good as it’s basic. Sounds like a collaboration was meant ta be on tha 1st verse here; gangsta shit to tha fullest! Tha 2nd verse’s cool here; DEFINITELY “runnin’ dat Oak” while “burnin’ dro!” I like tha swag for tha dude on tha 3rd verse; “fitted and tha Dickies.” You KNOW y’all holdin’ it down together! This definitely iz a gutta verse; very consistent fa what was spit! My Rating: 4.5

06. “Money To Be Made”
Do ya thang… >>> Short length, no intro and it sounds okay for tha beat; tha hook’s cool though. Tha 1st verse’s you on a mission here; keep it comin’! You keepin’ your motivation up on tha 2nd verse too; thumbs up ta you, bruh! My Rating: 4.0

07. “‘Bout My Paypa” Feat. Lil’ Head & K-Harris
Lemme hear what we got here for anotha “paypa” song (as I just reviewed one which was weird). >>> This one has singin’ in tha hook too, lol. Well, I know K-Harris iz tha female singer now, lol… Tha beat’s cool here and you’re on tha 1st verse, spittin’ some good shit. It iz Lil’ Head here on tha collab once again! Shit, yea; he DEFINITELY does tha damn thang when he collabs!! Ooh, “got weed, got pillz;” shiiid, he DEFINITELY official wit it!!! Even cryin’ out for “tha Tooth Fairy” too, lol! My Rating: 4.2

08. “Kay Kutter” Feat. Ree Up, G-Money & Zeke
Looks like a lineup here wit a gutta title! >>> Ooh, tha beat’s pretty gutta here!! I’m likin’ this shit and it sounds like a gr8 feature on tha 1st verse! “Let them Red Monkeys sag for tha hataz;” good shit too for tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse! Tha hook sounds interestin’; very good shit here! I’m feelin’ tha 2nd verse here; g-shit! I’m likin’ tha “let my ‘Bauds sag” part too; dumb shit!! Fuckin’ luv all y’all!! Tha 3rd verse’s good; thumbs up fa teamin’ up wit err-body ‘cause you and tha rest of them did a nice job! My Rating: 4.3

09. “You Know”
Only 2:20 on tha length so this’ll be a quickie… >>> Almost sounded like a fade-in intro, lol. Cool beat here; almost sounds jacked… Tha hook’s cool and tha 1st verse’s pretty good as you holdin’ it down once again! Tha rest of this iz cool too; you’re keepin’ it consistent on tha track! Damn, 13 seconds of silence? My Rating: 4.1

10. “Wut Dey Want” Feat. Lil’ Head
Shit, yea!! Lil’ Head’s back on tha feature!! >>> Ooh, you’re makin’ tha intro anticipatin’ here wit this cool beat! You doin’ a nice job on tha 1st verse, str8 holdin’ it down wit your “Lil’ Handy” and “Webbie” influences here. Tha 2nd verse iz Lil’ Head and you KNOW I’m luvin’ how Da YG’s comin’ through wit his gutta-ass shit!! My Rating: 4.5

½time: This iz DEFINITELY a HOT disc right chea!! Keep tha HOT shit comin’, my boy!! Glad you cool wit Quikkdraw too!! Tha average CD rating right now iz 4.3!!

11. “BaddAzz” (Tracchouse)
Iz Tracchouse a group? Let’s see this exclusive… >>> Sounds HOT wit tha beat; DEFINITELY inta tha beat here!! Tha hook sounds good… Tha 1st verse’s you rhymin’ good, on a rapid scale! Tha 2nd verse sounds like you DEFINITELY holdin’ it down fa err-body, male/female, once again! Good shit… My Rating: 4.4

12. “Fucking U 2night” Feat. Dre Chattman
Dre Chattman on tha feature here so let’s see how this gon sound afta I heard him on Jimi Jump’s “In Here”! >>> Shit, no, not an R&B remake/jacked beat! Didn’t need ta hear this once again… Although Dre sounds good on tha hook, I didn’t need ta hear this and it doesn’t fit on this mixtape! My Rating: 2.7

13. “Realest”
>>> Sounds like a Foxx sample in tha beginning. Now, I hear a creepin’-up beat! You sound good here in tha beginning… Tha 2nd verse’s just as good as tha 1st verse; you REALLY holdin’ err-body down dat you fuck wit! My Rating: 4.1

14. “Blackman” Feat. Lil’ Head
I like tha title! Once again, this should be REAL GOOD!! >>> Ooh, sounds like my boy Beat Flippa on dat GUTTA-ASS BR beat here!!! Nice job wit tha 1st verse here, spittin’ some hot shit ova dis beat! Lil’ Head’s a BEAST on tha 2nd verse!! He DEFINITELY needs ta put a WHOLE CD out!! Dat sample sounds random and tight fa dis, lol! My Rating: 4.6

15. “Can’t Fade A G” Feat. John John
Let’s hear this one… >>> Good start; hope it stays dat way on this Vybe beat, lol! Interestin’ hook; luv tha “fuck, no!!” Tha 1st verse’s definitely hot fa tha hood; good shit, my boy! Dat must be John John on tha 2nd verse ‘cause I’ve neva heard dat voice yet. He sounds pretty cool here! He must be young; good shit! Nice job wit contributin’ a 3rd verse too on dis shit! My Rating: 4.3

16. “Momma I Love U”
Scary title… >>> This ain’t fa me at all… Sorry, no comment. My Rating: 1.5

17. “Trials & Tribulations” Feat. Lil’ Head
Must be a GR8 joint wit Head on it! >>> Tha beat sounds like some old-type shit… I like how Head’s on tha hook wit you; good shit! On some real shit here wit this joint… Your verse iz aight for tha 1st verse here… I definitely feel Head’s verse much more here on tha 2nd verse; he just REAL gutta wit it wit his voice!! STRICTLY hood shit from him 100% of tha time!! My Rating: 4.2

18. “Young Ghetto Nigga”
Gutta title here, lol! >>> Sounds like a Lil’ Scrappy sample but it’s Young Jeezy, lol. Huh? Why iz there like a Pop-Rap beat sound here? Not “ghetto” enough for me to rate good. However, tha 1st verse sounds a lil’ catchy… Tha 2nd verse ain’t bad either… My Rating: 3.7

19. “A Lot Of Rats”
Gutta title; I know I gon feel dis! >>> Ooh, tha beat’s pretty egyptian, lol! Sounds like you spittin’ gutta shit for tha 1st verse! Tha hook’s good; DEFINITELY feelin’ this title wit tha “rats” in it! Hustla style in tha 2nd verse here; good-ass shit! My Rating: 4.5

20. “Streets Calling”
Anotha gr8 title! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ tha endin’ too!! >>> Ehh, a lil’ on tha soft side here but tha hook’s pretty catchy. Sounds like this iz pretty personal here… Not bad for a song, especially one dat’s on some real shit. Tha ringin’ in tha hook’s catchy too. Tha outro’s pretty long and descriptive too fa this joint… My Rating: 3.8
