R.I.P. Video #72: Tragic (Dirty Boyz)

Recorded May 30, 2020

Broadcasting from tha Bunkers of Alvira, here in Allenwood, PA, it's ya boy, FrankieThaLuckyDog here, sadly reportin' anotha "Tragic" loss in tha Louisiana rap community.

Stanley Guarian, known by his stage name, Tragic, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020; he was only 47-years-old.

Guarian was born in Baton Rouge, LA on February 2, 1973; tha stage name "Tragic" was an acronym that stood for "The Recording Artist Gifted In Christ." Guarian was a part of Baton Rouge, LA's Dirty Boyz rap group. Tha Dirty Boyz were formed durin' tha late '90s, in Baton Rouge, LA. Their original lineup consisted of members Kash, Tic, Black, Spade, Fatt Albert & Tragic, himself. Startin' their career under tha label IceHouse Records, tha Dirty Boyz released their debut album, 36 Ounces. Shortly after tha release, tha Dirty Boyz were later forced to leave IceHouse. Bouncin' right back, DB member, Kash, formed a new label, Dirty Boy Recordz (sometimes labeled as "DirtyBoy Entertainment" or "Dirty Boy Records," with an "S"). In 2006, tha Dirty Boyz released their 2nd album, Gutta Wayz 2 Get Paid. However, right before tha group's follow-up album dropped, tha group was down ta only three members, Fatt Albert, Tic & Kash. Needless ta say, tha group's 3rd album, Take Dat, Vol. 2, was released in 2008. As tha next decade went on, DB member, Fatt Albert, formed his own label, Beyond Reproach Entertainment. However, on tha tragic side of thangz, group member, Spade, had passed away & then, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, Tragic tragically passed away. Earlier, on February 2nd of this year, Guarian celebrated his 47th birthday.

Review #1,594: Kell "Time 2 Use My Gift Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 11.09.2016 (Review #1,594)

Comin’ up next, I have a review for anotha newbie. Outta Baton Rouge, LA, we got Kell, signed with Sick Spit Entertainment, Time 2 Use My Gift Vol. 1! I’m feelin’ anticipated fa this one ‘cause I found out about him through Benjamin Racks! Even has a unique birthday: June 27, 1982; he in tha ’82 – ’84 category!! Even tha front cover look like a ViperGFX cover from when them ’82 – ’84 babies were mainly active (’06 – ’10 dayz)! Too bad it ain’t, but whateva! How will he hold up? We shall see! Only have a YouTube playlist for tha link, tho… Start Time: 6:11 PM | End Time: 7:08 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2016 CD Review (Review #1,594) reviewed on 11.09.2016 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Intro”
>>> Beat sounds nice; you got tha hook on lock! Wow @ tha verse!! Just namin’ so much gangsta shit, here!! “My blueprint like Jay-Z;” undeniable!! I like how you had an “R.I.P.” to “Handy” and then, on tha 2nd verse, “Left Eye!” Excellent rhymin’! You like a grimy version of Percy Keith, a lil’! Hey, I done found me a link, finally! A new mixtape website, Yo! Mixtapez, thanx to tha end of this “Intro”’s YouTube video! Only thing iz, tha “2” iz flipped in tha YouTube video! My Rating: 4.6

02. “Lyrics Like Pills”
Oooooooh… >>> Thought tha beat was gon be faster, but it’s really slow… I expect you ta slaughter this one! Sounds like a regular-soundin’ rap song fa tha south, but it still cool… Nice rhymes, regardless… My Rating: 4.0

03. “By Any Means”
>>> Beat nice fa tha south, once again… Hearin’ tha hook and you sound like one of those rappers that’ll go down in history when you pass; good shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and I’m definitely feelin’ all these man-made sound effects! “Ching-Ching!” Excellent job with makin’ a catchy track!! When you say, “Sellin’ CDs & DVDs,” on tha 2nd verse, it sounds like some of that throwback shit I used to love from ’04 or somethin’! Good shit! You holdin’ it down like a boss!! My Rating: 4.3

04. “Megan Good” feat. Benjamin Racks
Got a sample off of Benjamin Racks postin’ it and it’s pretty catchy! Here go da review! >>> I like how tha beat sounds like a special version of a mainstream/typical track; that Baton Rouge version! Tha hook pretty catchy with this title, too; undaground shit at its finest! Tha 1st verse ain’t too bad from you, here; good shit! Can’t deny! “Just bought a loud pack, hope it’s good like Megan;” of course, it iz! So great ta hear Racks on tha 2nd verse, here, deliverin’ tha catchiness! Always loved how he sounded on tha tracks! Usually, he more wild than this but this still cool ta hear a somewhat-laidback Jefferson (that’s his real last name), lol! I told Racks to neva quit this rap shit; he gotta keep continue! We only 28!! My Rating: 4.4

05. “You Gone Learn” feat. Mayl Man, Kyre, Le, Tic & Pacman
Recognize some of these names… >>> You gettin’ me anticipated wit tha beginning, here… Diggin’ tha “retawded” shit in tha beginning! Yeah!! This my shit, right chea!! Nice lil’ repetitive, hyped-up hook!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it gets me excited ta hear a bunch of newbies in tha beginning! Gutta shit fa tha 225, of course! And, tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse’s nice! “Pills kicked in;” I want edibles!! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, here; definitely in tha zone! Tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ a lil’ tougher wit how they comin’ through wit it! Good shit—dope shit!! Diggin’ how tha 3rd verse’s soundin’, here! Different voices fa different flows that I’m lovin’! My Rating: 4.6

06. “Letter To My Son”
>>> I’ono how much I gon feel this, so let’s see… Hearin’ tha hook and I like how it sounds like a gutta tale with tha beat and how you sound… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds good; deliverin’ like a G! I like how you say, “That he miss you,” as well as tha lil’ background, “Trippy, mane;” nice! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ betta fa me; likin’ this story! Usually, these kinda songs ain’t really fa me, but tha beat helps keep my interest up… Also, I’m interested in your story! My Rating: 4.5

07. “True Colors” feat. Mayl Man & Prime
! >>> A decent hook; I like how you say, “Nigga think I’m green outchea,” on tha hook, as it’s interestin’… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds nice over this decent beat… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here; decent track… My Rating: 3.7

½time: This CD pretty dope, here! Definitely feelin’ your boss-life status, holdin’ it down on these beats! You got tha aggression and nice energy ta hold shit down! Not ta mention, your features hold shit down, too! A 4.3-rated CD, here!

08. “Pass Me The Drugs” feat. Mayl Man & Tic
>>> Of course, this shit tight! Nice job on tha hook wit this nice-soundin’, Baton Rouge-soundin’ beat! I luv how you hold down tha 1st verse, here! “Drugs on me;” you tha shit!! Tha 2nd verse’s pretty nice from this Mayl Man, here! Anotha Baton Rouge breed at its finest! I like tha “picture / pitcher” shit, too! This Tic on tha 3rd verse, or are they flipped on tha ID? Sounds like a mysterious voice, but it still nice! My Rating: 4.3

09. “Ass Like That” feat. Carleone
>>> Sounds like a simple lil’ club banga… Not really a Baton Rouge sound, here, but it still nice; catchy hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it “fleek”tastic, here… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here; not much ta say… I’ono why, but when I hear tha beat outro, it’s makin’ me appreciate tha beat more… My Rating: 3.8

10. “First Time”
>>> Not diggin’ this beat start; sounds like a jacked beat—a NY one! Hearin’ your rhymes and they’re good, but I don’t have much interest… Funny how this mainly about “Mary Jane;” really needed a betta beat!! My Rating: 3.5

11. “Hold It Down” feat. Mayl Man
>>> “Glen Oaks, Baton Rouge” representa, here (you)… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds great with this beat, too! Nice job wit how you’re comin’ through wit it on tha 1st verse, here, holdin’ “it down!” Tha Mayl Man on tha 2nd verse, here, spittin’ a nice lil’ story about “tha school zone;” dope! Lots of streetz, too; dope! My Rating: 4.2

12. “Rado Truck”
>>> Beat a lil’ different fa an upbeat one, but it sounds nice wit you doin’ ya thang on this hook! Luvin’ this celeb life-type lyrics! Gotta luv livin’ like dat! I be celebratin’ like dat, now! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ nice; jammin’ shit, here! And, a 2nd verse ta squeeze in here, wit only 23 seconds left! Nice lil’ quick ending, all tha way till tha end! My Rating: 4.3

13. “Sky’s The Limit”
Gay title, especially since havin’ Tic on this CD kinda brings back those thoughts! And, tha name’s in tha title, smh!! >>> Beat’s nice fa a southern, laidback one fa tha streetz… Can’t take tha title serious but tha hook good… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, clockin’ “in!” Anti-“employee” shit, here, as you wanna be an “employer;” I feel ya! So many customers at my job think I own tha place; fuckin’ right! Wish it was so! Nice lil’ 1st verse; I can relate! Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here, as you continue ta hold it down… My Rating: 3.9

14. “Cypher” feat. $tevo, Le, Tic & Grip
>>> Ain’t expect this ta be a jammin’, upbeat, soundin’-like-‘90s/early 2000’s-type beat, here! Sounds nice wit how you’re comin’ through on tha 1st verse! And, tha beat continues ta brighten up tha hype wit $tevo on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through nicely! Le on tha 3rd verse, deliverin’ shit on tha mic; can’t complain… After those three verses, a lil’ beat interlude appeared… I ain’t expect tha beat interlude but it still soundin’ nice ta transition to tha 4th verse (Tic); good shit… And, tha 5th verse (Grip), holdin’ shit down, too! My Rating: 4.3

15. “Real Niggas Do (Outro)”
>>> Likin’ how tha beat sounds nice and slow, here… I like how you’re handlin’ this hook, here, leadin’ tha way to those listenin’! Diggin’ how you comin’ through on tha verse, here! When you say, “I’m 1-0-0!,” I instantly think of you as a Skull Duggrey breed! “1,000!” My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Great job with this one, Kell! You got a bright future ahead of you, whether it starts at age 34 or not! I don’t even look at it as an age thing, anymore! I just consider it, “He’s six years older than me;” that’s concrete, right there! But yeah, excellent job wit how you handled tha tracks, spittin’ your stories & props to tha features!

01. “Intro”
>>> LOL, it sounds like Big Jay said, “Thirty Third,” lol. I remember tha previous mixtapes wit tha great skits; this intro goes wit it! LOL, you added some rappin’ to it; really feelin’ tha fastness! I guess I should rate this ‘cause of tha final 30 seconds! My Rating: 4.5

02. “Dope Money” Feat. Lil’ Cali
Good thing fa O.B. on tha beat! You already know what I had ta say ‘bout dis one! My Current Rating: 4.5

03. “Fa My Niggas”
>>> Sounds hot for a new joint; good beat you chose and your voice holds shit down at all times!! My Rating: 4.4

04. “Weed & Kodene”
LOL! I thought I neva heard dis before but I did and you already know, anything wit “weed” in tha title iz official!! My Current Rating: 4.6

05. “I’m On” Feat. Foxx & []
A beat from Ice Redd, here; didn’t realize he produced it! Needed a song fa my radio show right afta []’s birthday so I went wit dis; good thing he sent me it! LOL @ tha—I dunno what ta call it—voice on tha hook. Anyway, tha 1st verse’s pretty kick-ass wit you on tha voice and delivery wit tha rhymes, lol! LOL @ Foxx on tha 2nd verse wit his “dyke” shit when it comes ta tha “bitches;” what about gay dudes, lol? Consistent shit from him, as always! Of course, save tha best fa last: [], although I really liked your part, Pounds! []’s pretty consistent wit what he’s got on tha mic; damn, how many punchlines, bruh? My Current Rating: 4.6

06. “Big Money”
Anotha “money” song? You should spend some on my commercials, videos, and myself! >>> Sounds good; I also like dat tha back cover looks similar to []’s “[]”! Anyway, anotha good song from you; can’t deny tha voice! Also, tha hook sounds good wit this screwed sample! My Rating: 4.3

07. “Dat’s How I’m Actin’” Feat. BluBlack
Forgot tha “’s” on tha back cover, lol? Of course, very hot song, especially wit BluBlack on tha feature and Ice Redd on tha beat!! My Current Rating: 4.7

08. “Ride Wit Me”
>>> Even though good, it was my least-rated on your “Necessary Hustlin’” CD, lol. My Current Rating: 3.8

½time: Of course, nothin’ but consistent shit from Pounds, ya dig?!? Can’t deny it, especially tha gifted voice!! Already, you’re at a 4.4 for tha CD rating; keep it up!!!

09. “So Fresh (Pt. 2)” Feat. Tic
Let’s hear tha 2nd part… >>> Not sure how good I remember tha 1st version but you know dis iz a plus, too. Tic sounds good; glad y’all frequently collaborate! My Rating: 4.0

10. Tha Drop Off (Skit)
Ooh, a skit! >>> Sounds refreshin’ ta hear; lol @ tha dialogue and all tha nouns included when “droppin’” shit “off,” lol! My Rating: N/A

11. “Bird Call” Feat. Young Gregory
A surprise collaboration, from before! Then again, I didn’t realize dat tha two of y’all were cousins; no wonder! My Current Rating: 4.3

12. “I Can Do It” Feat. Adlib
>>> Forgot tha “it” on tha back cover? Anyway, tha 1st ½ of tha hook’s a lil’ gay for me wit tha vocals but at least you keepin’ it semi-alive wit how you comin’ through! Real nice job wit tha 1st verse; I feel like I can handle tha whole entire hook, regardless! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; damn, how much “trap” shit you got? Do you remember date and time of when you first sold shit? My Rating: 4.1

13. “She Like”
>>> What’s wit tha laughin’ from Big Jay in tha beginning? Since when does he think shit’s funny? Ooh, this iz a faster-soundin’ song; likin’ how you come through wit some fast shit, this time! LOL, what more could I “like” about dis song? You keepin’ shit on ‘n’ poppin’, here! My Rating: 4.3

14. “Hate Follows” Feat. Carrie A
Who’s dis gurl? >>> Ooh, she raps; thought she sang or somethin’ to where I wouldn’t like this too much. Anyway, she sounds like a good representa; gotta show her luv! LOL, then, your grimy voice comes outta nowhere ta let err-body know; gotta luv tha unexpected, quickly! Oh, she iz singin’ on tha hook; it sounds good wit this beat, at least; I’m satisfied wit her rappin’ on tha intro, at least. My Rating: 4.2

15. “Hard Tymes”
An Ice Redd beat; forgot tha space on tha background? >>> Beat sounds poor on tha hook; what’s up wit this? Not really tha best fa me; good thing you have rappin’ on lock wit your flow and what you be doin’! Sometimes, it takes somethin’ extra for me to like… My Rating: 3.9

16. “Weed & Kodene (Screwed & Chopped Version)”
I had a feelin’ I thought I saw dis twice; thank God there’s a C&S version!! >>> Great resurrection wit this C&S shit!! I might like tha original version slightly betta but definitely thumbs up fa havin’ a C&S version!! Tha screwin’ prolly could’ve been a lil’ slower ‘cause your voice sounds nearly tha same, since it’s deep. My Rating: 4.5

Overall: This went just as hard, or even equivalent, to tha original CD; definite thumbs up!! Really felt tha new jointz; keep ‘em comin’, includin’ doin’ business wit me!

01. Intro
Doin’ tha damn thang to tha fullest!! >>> Sounded like a fade-in intro? Interestin’, Jamaican style. Where do y’all get your ideas on tha intros, outros, and skits from, lol? My Rating: N/A

02. “So Fresh”
Tha hook’s cool; somethin’ simple ta like wit a 225 perspective. Pounds comin’ through wit dat greatness in tha 1st verse, though; dumb shit! Tic sounds pretty focused throughout tha 2nd verse, keepin’ tha rhymes consistent! “Purple—purple kush? Shid, I like dat!” :tu My Current Rating: 4.0

03. “Quit Na” Feat. Supa (Macked Out)
Tha full name of Supa’s name on tha back cover, lol. This should be interestin’, especially wit tha title startin’ wit a “Q”, lol! >>> Yea, definite plus here!! Pounds doin’ a REAL, REAL GR8 job on tha hook!! Talk about REAL HOT, CATCHY MUSIC!!!!! :tu REALLY enjoyin’ how he comes through on tha mic to tha fullest!! I’d give Pounds’s 1st verse on here an A+; tha shit you DEFINITELY can luv, Southern style!! LOL, *imitates voice* SUUUP!!! He’s on tha 2nd verse and he just tagged me in a catchy song’s video just now on Facebook; good lookin’! It’s always GR8 ta have Supa on tha feature; he adds dat GR8, catchy character to tha track at all times!! Here comes Tic on tha 3rd verse, tryin’ not ta “quit” wit tha shit he got goin’ on; sounds good fa a verse. My Rating: 4.4

04. “We Got’em Hollin’”
Keepin’ thangz movin’… >>> GOTTA keep tha production movin’; dumb shit!! Definitely sounds real hot and fresh here! Tha hook’s pretty gutta wit Pounds’s gutta-ass! :tu I really like tha “let me get a box” part when it comes ta “smokin’” dat good, good! Pounds feelin’ HELLA good at ALL times!!! Real catchy shit here!! This iz why Baton Rouge lives in my heart, ya dig?!? It felt like tha vibe switched up once Tic hopped onta tha 2nd verse, lol; good shit here… Feelin’ these street rhymes to tha fullest; can’t help but ta immediately luv dis shit! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Retarded” Feat. Sophisticated
Because of reviewin’ Pounds’s “Necessary Hustlin’” CD, I know dat tha feature iz Sophisticated, which iz not listed on tha back cover. As said before: I’m likin’ dis shit; nice and smooth lil’ beat wit a crunk-soundin’ hook! Tha 1st verse’s nice; you know how you bringin’ dis quality music ta my ears, Pounds!! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good; Tic doin’ tha damn thang, showin’ his ass off, lol! Tha 3rd verse from Sophisticated’s good, too; consistent shit! My Current Rating: 4.3

06. “Momma Always Told Me”
>>> Tha beat sounds pretty good… Ooh, sounds like an anthem despite tha title, lol! Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ good; good shit, Tic! Gutta-soundin’ hook, lol! Pounds comin’ through wit dat GUTTA-ASS shit on tha 2nd verse!! Sometimes, if you deliver tha song correctly, as well as havin’ tha HOT production, I can luv tha song, regardless what it’s about! My Rating: 4.2

07. “Thinkin’ Of You”
I knew I realized tha title… A beat like this I don’t really go for. I do like that it’s sped up a lil’ but these sample-soundin’ beats are not me at all. I really like dat you’re a BEAST on tha vocals and mic here, Pounds!! That’s tha plus and it makes tha rhymes in tha verses real nice! Tha hook? Ehh… nothin’ I’d comment on. Glad your voice can keep tha interest in a song alive!! My Current Rating: 3.9

08. Every Tuesday (Skit)
Tell me dis has ta do wit Shutdown “Tuesdays” from tha Fall, lol! >>> Still sounds like a continuation from tha intro, lol. This may sound different but I have my perspective on “Shutdown Tuesdays” (now Thursdays), lol! My Rating: N/A

½time: GR8 job, guys!! Y’all REALLY consistent wit it, ESPECIALLY my big dawg Pounds!! Y’all at 4.2 for tha CD rating right now!

09. “Movin’ Birds”
You know what it iz! >>> Sounds good; GR8 shit right here, ya dig? Tha hook’s official and Tic’s holdin’ down tha 1st verse as well; nice and consistent! Shit yea, dat boy Pounds doin’ a REAL GR8 job!!! Just tha start of his lip movin’—gettin’ ready ta spit somethin’—SETS thangz off!!! DEFINITELY thumbs up ta him doin’ tha damn thang on tha 2nd verse!! My Rating: 4.3

10. “In My Days” Feat. Percy Campbell
Ooh, Percy Campbell on tha feature? Have I heard dis before? Looks anticipatin’… >>> Sounds good as far as tha production; definitely a plus here… Nice job from tha both of y’all spittin’ CRAZY shit on tha hook! Wow, Pounds goin’ OFF here, lol!!! Tha 1st verse’s DEFINITELY on lock!! Nothin’ but CONSISTENTNESS!!! Tha 2nd verse from Tic sounds good; feelin’ tha content here, ya dig? All tha shit goin’ on here iz a plus; can’t escape tha content, tha talent, or all y’all!! LOL, he comes tha CRAZY Percy Campbell on tha 3rd verse; REALLY likin’ how he emerged onto tha verse!! Gotta luv what he got goin’ on wit his catchiness!! It’s like, y’all ALL get an A+ for catchiness, ya dig? My Rating: 4.4

11. “Be With You” Feat. Carrie A & Y-Kean
Looks like it finna be slow. But, wit crazy-ass Pounds, it should have some tightness! >>> Yea, a lil’ slow and it starts off wit Tic; I guess I gotta wait fa tha catchiness… Tha hook ain’t too bad; I think it flows pretty good wit dis beat. Ooh, Pounds on tha 2nd verse: comin’ through wit a lotta shit ta say wit dat voice! Good job wit tha 3rd verse! Here comes Y-Kean on tha 3rd verse, doin’ a not-so-bad job rappin’… My Rating: 3.7

12. What (Skit)
LOL… >>> Very short but good; where’d tha attitude come from, lol? My Rating: N/A

13. “You Can Tell’em” Feat. []
LOL, what do we got here? >>> Not bad on tha start; sounds like it could grow. Tha hook’s pretty good and Tic’s doin’ a nice job on tha 1st verse, spittin’ his opinion on what he has ta say. Pounds just always be goin’ off, lol!! He too crazy wit it!! No one can stop him, lol!! Keepin’ it goin’, he’s on tha 2nd verse, too!! LOL, how much can you spit, lol?!? It’s sooooooooo nuts!!! Crazy-ass Pounds!!! Talk about an attitude here!!! This iz definitely crazy!!! Here’s tha 3rd verse: [] on tha feature! That’s a 1st fa me and he comin’ through wit dat tightness! No wonder why [] commented on tha review I did fa y’all; y’all know each other! Glad he spittin’ dat real shit to tha fullest, makin’ dis joint sound real nice!! Just like tha BluBlack feature on tha “Necessary Hustlin’” CD, this was tha surprise feature on this CD! My Rating: 4.6

14. “So Right” Feat. Adlib
Oh no, an Adlib feature; let’s not kill tha vibe! >>> LOL, what a quiet start wit tha production tag from Lil’ Ken; good shit! This beat’s a lil’ too slow but lemme hear what y’all got ta say… Somewhat-good from Tic on tha 1st verse; good in visions of tha content. Tha hook’s pretty good from Adlib just ‘cause of tha “bubblebath”, lol. Basically, I like these bathroom terms, lol. LOL, iz dat you, Pounds, talkin’ before tha 2nd verse, lol? Shit yea, here you are on tha 2nd verse! LOL, this may be real smooth for a beat but you still go off, Pounds, lol!! Real nice; great comeback from my not-so-anticipated start! My Rating: 4.1

15. “So Much Drama”
True, ya dig? >>> Wow, what a gangsta start here!!! Really feelin’ tha production and tha hook’s DEFINITELY on point! Almost sounds familiar… Tha 1st verse from Tic’s definitely on point!! He offerin’ real nice shit fa tha streets!!! Just-as-equal for tha quality that Tic offered; thumbs up!! My Rating: 4.4

16. “I Had A Vision”
Gonna get right into it. >>> Sounds good as far as tha production. You know Pounds had ta represent in tha beginning! I like how tha both of y’all comin’ through on tha hook; definitely a plus! Pounds, aren’t you glad dat I’m listenin’, ya feel me? Here’s Tic on tha 1st verse, doin’ a pretty-good job… Yea, y’all definitely “[rappin’ y’all asses] off” to tha fullest!! And speakin’ of, here’s Pounds on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit dat pure voice!!! Real-good job right there, Pounds!! Tic finishin’ dis off wit tha 3rd verse, spittin’ some mo hot shit. Pounds comin’ through wit some mo shit, too; dumb shit!! My Rating: 4.3

Review #722: Pounds "Necessary Hustlin'"

Reviewed on 12.21.2010 (Review #722)

Tha 3rd review I have today iz Pounds “Necessary Hustlin’”; Lajah Music Group in tha buildin’!! Start Time: 3:30 PM | End Time: 4:25 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Intro” / Young Carter Drop
Ooh, J Hook doin’ tha beat here! Also, Young Carter in tha buildin’ (who friend requested me on Facebook—I thought he was Carter Boy at first, lol)!! Should be GR8 ta hear!! >>> Real cool-soundin’ beat start here! LOL, it’s you doin’ ya thang in tha beginning! Ooh, rappin’! I guess tha drop’s all tha way at tha end; good shit here!! Just dat few seconds alone counts as a song rating and not just an intro, ya dig? Gotta luv your “I’m TELLIN’ ya” part; GR8 accent/voice/style!! Shit yea, Carter at tha end!! My Rating: 4.2

02. “Necessary Hustlin’” Feat. Adlib
Adlib’s features don’t really score dat high fa me so let’s see what happens wit dis song… >>> Dis ain’t a depressin’ song although his notes sound a lil’ depressin’. However, it’s a good hook fa what it iz; good content, too! You sound pretty good on tha 1st verse; dat voice of yours iz, just, GR8!! VERY GOOD 1st verse from you; addin’ dat energy and street shit, at tha same time, to tha track!! Tha 2nd verse sounds real nice—from you; good shit! Tha 3rd hook sounds a lil’ too weird; those high-noted, passionate-felt vocals do not mix wit this song/content. Ugh, tha wining! My Rating: 4.1

03. “Dat’s How I’m Acting” Feat. BluBlack
A beat by Ice Redd; lol, what a collab!! What’ll this sound like? >>> Shit yea, what HOTNESS!!! Feelin’ tha jammin’ vibe and BluBlack REALLY holdin’ down tha hook!! He’s even on tha 1st verse wit tha shit I’ve always luv, luv, LUVED from him!! Sounds like a GR8 single I gon be playin’ fa 2011, ya dig? You’re on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit tha tightness; luv tha voice of yours!! Didn’t think y’all knew each other! My Rating: 4.6

04. “Retarded” Feat. Tic & Sophisticated
This should be good; Pounds (you as LBS?) did tha beat, too! >>> I’m likin’ dis shit; nice and smooth lil’ beat wit a crunk-soundin’ hook! Tha 1st verse’s nice; you know how you bringin’ dis quality music ta my ears!! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good; Tic doin’ tha damn thang, showin’ his ass off, lol! Tha 3rd verse from Sophisticated’s good, too; consistent shit! My Rating: 4.2

05. Tha Drop Off (Skit)
Yay! You got skits on your CD; thumbs up! >>> Some interestin’ shit here; good shit, lol. I luv hearin’ skits and natural, real voices in person, ya dig? My Rating: N/A

06. “Dope Money” Feat. Lil’ Cali
Shit yea, anotha mega collab wit Cali on tha feature and O.B. on tha beat!! >>> Gotta LUV dis 225 shit!!! Tha hook’s DEFINITELY focused and picks up from where tha skit left off!! Shit, you’re REALLY doin’ tha damn thang on tha 1st verse!! Can’t explain HOW GR8 it iz ta hear dis voice of yours deliverin’ REAL HOT street shit!!! Here comes Cali, ready ta rip tha shit outta tha 2nd verse!! Good-ass shit from Cali on tha 2nd verse, ya dig? Young Carter on tha ending, too? Shit yea!! Y’all a REAL GR8 family!! My Rating: 4.5

07. “Weed & Kodene”
How tight will this be wit a title like dis? >>> Feelin’ this anticipatin’ start! Tha beat has a nice feel ta it and just by sayin’ only tha title in tha hook iz REAL TIGHT!! Really luvin’ tha content goin’ on here in tha 1st verse!! I wonder what it’s like ta live tha life of havin’, and buyin’, “weed & kodene”? I can’t picture it… I feel like a free bird wit all tha shit I do and have/have not done in my life. Tha 2nd verse tight, too! Nothin’ but a REAL HOT joint like dis; can’t get enough of your music on this CD!!! My Rating: 4.6

08. “Hard In Tha Paint” Feat. Adlib
Tell me, Waka’d-out singin’ on tha hook, right? You did tha beat so let’s see what’s good. >>> Iz this even tha kinda song that should be slow? Not anotha weird, mixed-up song… Actually, Adlib’s singin’ iz betta on this than tha “Necessary Hustlin’” song. LOL @ you on tha 1st verse; sounds really interestin’, regardless of tha different soundin’ for a “Hard In Tha Paint” title… DEFINITELY TIGHTNESS wit how you come through on tha flow and wit tha shit you spittin’!! Tha 2nd verse just keeps tha content on ‘n’ poppin’; you a fool wit dis one! My Rating: 4.2

½time: You DEFINITELY got yourself a REAL HOT CD right chea, ya dig?!? It’s all about dat HOT Lajah Music Group, presentin’ REAL TIGHT music to tha fullest!! So far, tha CD iz worth 4.3 thanx to all tha ratings combined; keep it up!!!

09. “Kill Diz Shit” Feat. Percy Campbell
Ohh, my dawg Percy on tha feature!! You know where dis goin’…!!! >>> He even had ta be in tha intro, too; dumb shit! Whoa, what a HOT hook wit tha consistentness of tha title and “shit” y’all spittin’!! I like, in tha 1st verse, “nigga owe me some money … I’mma hit up his grandma;” dumb shit!! “I leave a nigga dead like tha face on a quarter;” REAL NICE shit!!! :tu You’re goin’ off on tha 2nd verse wit your “Levi’s” and shit; DEFINITELY luvin’ it, ya dig?!? My Rating: 4.5

10. Tha Joke (Skit)
Ooh, anotha skit!! Definitely lookin’ forward ta hearin’ more!!! >>> WHERE DO THESE VOICES COME FROM?!? SO FUCKIN’ GR8!!!!!!!!!! LUV tha whole Southern vibe!!!!! Speakin’ of tha “45 in a 40” part, tha one and only time I witnessed a pulled-over scene was when my agent was drivin’ 40 in a 25, lol. It was weird… My Rating: N/A

11. “On A Jose” Feat. Percy Campbell
Okay, let’s see anotha Percy Campbell collab wit Lil’ Ken on tha beat!! >>> Slow beat start but 100% Southern!! Tha hook’s pretty catchy and you REALLY got it on lock on tha 1st verse here! Showin’ luv ta those locked up and err-thang! Oh, that was tha hook? Sounded pretty long but was DEFINITELY nice no matter how long it was! Tight shit goin’ on in tha 1st verse; all about not wantin’ ta go ta jail and shit. I dunno why people like goin’ ta jail (meanin’ dat you’re not alert enough to evade jail)? Here comes Percy on tha 2nd verse, spittin’ some shit ‘bout AJ (remember what I said in one of tha previous reviewz, Percy? You need an AJ song; this iz progressin’ ta be a good one in one verse)! I’m really likin’ how y’all brought it to tha table on dis one; DEFINITELY catchy!!! My Rating: 4.4

12. “Bird Call” Feat. Young Gregory
Ooh, dat boy Greg on tha feature!! Talk about a character!!! >>> Sounds like a pretty good beat ta rap off of. Greg already spittin’ shit, doin’ his thang on tha 1st verse! This DEFINITELY iz on a REAL NICE street level!! Greg a fool wit tha pill talk! :tu This CD DEFINITELY has a lot of radio show songs fa me; hope I can get a bunch of them on tha air! I know I’ll DEFINITELY do my thang wit it! Tha hook’s pretty cool; I like tha “bird call”, lol! Whoa! As fast as you’re goin’ on tha 2nd verse, I feel like I’m typin’ faster and faster, lol! I like tha lil’ long outro you got here, too! My Rating: 4.3

13. “I Know” Feat. Choppa 1 & Mutt
Keepin’ tha variable collaborations goin’, here are two dudes I fuck wit on tha feature wit you!! >>> Beat sounds like a Pop song but it sounds like you “know what [you’re] doin’” ‘cause tha way y’all come through iz nice! Choppa 1 startin’ dis thang off, doin’ his thang! I like his line about “[his] own shit,” lol; dumb shit!! Mutt sounds pretty good wit his own character/style in tha 2nd verse; good shit! Here you come on tha 3rd verse, even mo gutta; you know what it iz!! You and your “purple”; good shit! I wonder how you even started ta become in luv wit both purples, lol? My Rating: 4.2

14. “Ride Wit Me”
It’s just you; let’s get it! >>> A longer song (4:40); how will it go? Pretty good shit you got goin’ on and tha hook’s not too bad. I dunno if you’ll be able ta handle tha whole 4:4—ooh, “roll up this kush” ta start off tha 2nd verse; dumb shit!! Pretty good job on tha 2nd verse, too, ya dig? You’re talkin’ wit nearly two-and-a-half minutes left? I like your lil’ part but no need ta have tha last two minutes; it makes me dwell into boredism… My Rating: 3.8

15. “So Fresh” Feat. Tic
Anotha Tic feature! >>> Tha hook’s cool; somethin’ simple ta like wit a 225 perspective. You’re comin’ through wit dat greatness in tha 1st verse, though; dumb shit! Tic sounds pretty focused throughout tha 2nd verse, keepin’ tha rhymes consistent! “Purple—purple kush? Shid, I like dat!” :tu My Rating: 4.0

16. “Thinkin’ Of You”
Last song (which I thought was gonna be an outro—maybe, an outro’ll be at tha end of this?) and it’s produced by Ice Redd. How will it turn out fa me? Lemme hear… >>> A beat like this I don’t really go for. I do like that it’s sped up a lil’ but these sample-soundin’ beats are not me at all. I really like dat you’re a BEAST on tha vocals and mic here!! That’s tha plus and it makes tha rhymes in tha verses real nice! Tha hook? Ehh… nothin’ I’d comment on. Glad your voice can keep tha interest in a song alive!! My Rating: 3.9

Overall: You’re a BEAST!! I luv some of these reviewz I be doin’, ya dig?!? Good-ass shit; BUKU surprises!!! You have a SHITLOAD of REAL GR8 features from different labels of BR; thumbs up!!! Keep doin’ tha damn thang; hope you like dis shit!
