Review #1,747: Soulja Slim "Give It 2 'Em Raw"

Reviewed on 8.08.2017 (Review #1,747)

Got anotha review today! This one, courtesy of No Limit Records & Priority Records, I have Soulja Slim Give It 2 ‘Em Raw, released in 1998! Let’s get it! Startin’ it at Debbery birthday time! Shout out to Zippin’ Zindle for tha return, yesterday!! Start Time: 6:23 PM | End Time: 7:38 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

Crazy how you say, “And, I’mma blow like tha World Trade.” It’s almost like you predicted tha future fa three years later! No wonder why you a legend! Tha ones that die early are tha ones that predict our future! Crazy! Hearin’ tha 3^rd verse and it’s pretty dope, still! Tha consistent rhymes don’t stop! Can’t wait ta hear tha rest of this CD, ya heard me?! Went all tha way to tha end by shuttin’ “tha studio door!” My Rating: 4.8

15. “Get High With Me” feat. Mystikal & Tre-Nitty

Carlos, Carlos, Carlos! >>> A slower, drier beat… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds aight; nothin’ special, despite tha “high” content… Hearin’ you on tha 1^st verse and there’s not much goin’ on wit this laidback vibe, on tha flow… And, Tre on tha 2^nd verse, here, soundin’ betta wit his faster-soundin’ rhymes… Now, we got Mystikal on tha 3^rd verse, here, soundin’ betta wit his aggression, of course! Review #1,695: Magic "Sky's The Limit"

Reviewed on 3.21.2017 (Review #1,695)

Happy 55^th day in a row of reviewin’ CDs & only five more dayz till my dream comes true!! Now, time for tha next review: Magic Sky’s The Limit, released in 1998 on No Limit Records & Priority Records! Start Time: 1:36 AM | End Time: 2:54 AM

04. “Depend On Me” feat. C-Murder

Mo B. on tha beat! >>> Sounds decent, here, wit this beat and how you comin’ through on tha 1^st verse… Uncredited C on tha 1^st verse? Almost sounds like him… Regardless, sounds nice, overall, wit this track… My Rating: 3.8

05. “9^th Ward”

O’Dell beat… >>> Sounds like a strong anthem, here; nice hook… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse on this decent beat fa dem souljaz and it sounds decent, but good wit tha rhymes… Tha rest of this ain’t too bad; good shit… My Rating: 3.7

06. “No Hope” feat. C-Murder, Lady TRU & Sons Of Funk

Why uncredited verses, smh? I thought I looked up all tha info?! My Rating: 3.4

10. “I Never”

KLC did this one… >>> Sounds decent, here, wit tha beat and what you’re bringin’ to tha 1^st verse… Tha rest of this ain’t bad; I’m too busy updatin’ all these features that were fucked up when I checked tha tracklist… My Rating: 3.5

½time: A 3.7-rated CD, so far; decent, here… I thought I’d hear betta but it iz what it iz…

MP beat… >>> Due to tha title, hence it’s tha fuckin’ album title, too, this gon go in one ear and out tha other! Don’t need to have someone that robbed me in tha title, here, smh! With that bein’ said, this sounds soft with tha hook and tha decent verses… Can be a dope track if I was all obsessed with Louisiana rap music or somethin’, ya know what I’m sayin’? My Rating: 3.1

13. “No Limit” feat. C-Murder & Snoop Dogg

Mark In Da Dark on tha track… >>> Sounds like a nice 1^st verse from C, here; nice reppin’… Hearin’ tha hook and I have to admit, it does sound nice spellin’ out tha label y’all represent! “N-O-L-I-M-I-T!” Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and it’s pretty dope, here; gotta dig how you comin’, Magic! 15. “What I Gotta” feat. Silkk The Shocker & Mo B. Dick

Craig B on this beat… >>> Sounds like a decent beat, here; nothin’ special… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and I almost thought it was a hook… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s ehh…; let’s see what’s next… Hearin’ you on tha 2^nd verse and it sounds like you know what you want, but it’s not comin’ when you want it… My Rating: 3.5

And, we got tha 2^nd verse from Snoop, layin’ down some random facts… Even more comin’ outta tha 3^rd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice and consistent wit tha aggression; good shit! My Rating: 3.9

02. “Childhood Years” feat. C-Murder & Porsha

Craig B on tha beat! >>> A laidback track, here… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it ain’t too bad, so far… And, we got tha 2^nd verse and it’s all about gettin’ through those “childhood years,” here… Tha hook sounds pretty nice wit both C & Porsha on it, soundin’ dope… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 3^rd verse, here, soundin’ like a lil’ bit of a West Coast-kinda Louisiana-mixed sound, here… My Rating: 3.8

Gotta luv tha energy and err-thang bein’ put into tha track! Tha 2^nd ½ of tha 2^nd verse came kinda random and sounds like it has a random, fast flow… And, tha 3^rd verse’s soundin’ pretty nice, too, as y’all keep it movin’… Almost sounded like a really-short verse, but then, a 2^nd ½ of tha 3^rd verse appeared and it has more aggression in it, so that’s wassup… My Rating: 4.3

Oh, WHERE ELSE?!? 3:26!!! Duh!!!!! What other spot would he be at?! That number!!! Anyway, here he iz on tha 4^th verse, soundin’ hyper but a lil’ less hype than I thought he’d be! Still, definitely dope! My Rating: 3.9

½time: A 4.0-rated CD, so far; can’t complain…

10. “So Much Drama” feat. Magic, 2-4-1 & O’Dell

It’s almost like if Mystikal had anotha breed: Y’all and this song, lol… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and y’all keepin’ it movin’ wit tha consistent shit, once again… And, we got tha 3^rd verse, comin’ through wit some nice shit, as well… My Rating: 4.1

13. “Losing My Faith”

Carlos Stephens on tha beat… >>> Sounds good/decent, here, on tha hook and beat… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it’s pretty nice, fa a real-life track… It ain’t too preach-y or anything; it flows nicely… And, here’s tha 2^nd verse…; it straight… Hearin’ tha 3^rd verse and it’s aight, too; not bad track, overall… My Rating: 3.6
