Review #1,251: X-Fyle Presents "Neighborhood Track Dealer Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 1.31.2013 (Review #1,251)

My next review for today iz X-Fyle Presents Neighborhood Track Dealer Vol. 1! Start Time: 9:52 PM | End Time: 10:15 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

© 2013 CD Review (Review #1,251) reviewed on 1.31.2013 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. Kevin Gates “Sinatra”
My Current Rating: 3.6

02. X-Fyle Feat. Master P, Romeo & The Louie V Mobb “Smoke, Drank & Cut”
You know he just “Romeo” now, right, Mr. X-Fyle? >>> Sounds good wit tha title, but no way am I into tha hook!! Can’t even tell anyone’s voices; not for me, despite me likin’ tha title! My Rating: 1.4

03. X-Fyle Feat. Coppertop “Hell Of A Night”
>>> What’s this gay beginning? Aren’t I listenin’ to rappers, not singers? Not really for me; tha 2nd verse iz barely okay… My Rating: 1.2

04. Birdman “Nightclub”
Not in tha DatPiff folder… >>> Why this mainstream shit fa this compilation? I understand you produced it, but keep it undaground! Now, that’s “100!” Oh yea, no a-tune for me! My Rating: 1.0

05. Birdman Feat. Mack Maine & Drake “You Too Fine”
Why? >>> Really long intro wit tha hook, although it’s tha catchiest hook outta tha five songs, so far. Not too bad, but I don’t need to hear this pop shit on an undaground producer’s mixtape! My Rating: 3.2

06. X-Fyle Feat. Down Bad “MollyWhopped”
Forgot how it went… >>> Once again, cool beat; a great song to get fucked up to… My Current Rating: 4.3

07. X-Fyle Feat. Mookie Blakk “We Be Dummy”
That’s two “K”s in his name! BTW, I think this iz an ’09 joint Mookie sent me that was just called “Dummy”, at tha time? Lemme see… >>> This doesn’t sound like it, despite me neva gettin’ ta hear dat joint except tha beginning beat… Then again, that was just Mookie, not X-Fyle featuring Mookie… This sounds like a cool, “dummy”-type joint, as always; can’t complain… Mookie sounds cool when it comes to tha rappin’; good job. Hearin’ tha 3rd verse; must be you. You’re, like, voiceless to me; I can neva tell when it’s you on a song unless there’s a distinct voice from tha other artist… Either way, your verse’s a lil’ too mainstream for me! It bothers me to hear anything about “money!” My Rating: 3.7

08. Gyft “People See Me (They Just Don’t Know)”
First new artist on here… >>> Really? 6:25 on tha length wit a beat start like this… Okay, tha sample’s teasin’ me to like this a lil’ bit. Reminds me of anotha beat you produced. I won’t get into that, unless we talk privately ‘cause I don’t wanna put tha thief’s name out there! But, surprisingly, I’m likin’ this a lil’ bit; this rapper iz aight, but it sounds like a good joint, overall. Really long outro, here… My Rating: 4.0

09. X-Fyle Feat. Mouse “Eddie Kane”
>>> Sounds good; automatically, this tha type of shit you can’t deny! Must be you rappin’, here; it sounds good, despite some of tha mainstream-type shit you be sayin’… Tha hook’s pretty catchy; can’t help it when it comes ta a name bein’ tha title! Mouse On Tha Track on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit his entertainin’-ass! My Rating: 3.8

½time: A few songs that were really shitty, but there’s some good/decent shit on here; only a 2.9 for tha CD rating, currently. X-Fyle, it’s time ta cut on tha wack, mainstream shit!

10. Birdman “Money Machine”
Also, not in tha DatPiff folder… >>> No wonder! My Rating: 1.0

11. Mookie Blakk Feat. Sam I Am “Dat Level”
If only I would’ve gotten this CD when it came out. Then, when I uploaded tha radio edit, I could’ve put which CD it came off of. Y’all need to not delay these CDs; c’mon, now! My Current Rating: 4.3

12. X-Fyle “Life & Times”
>>> A calm beat wit some good rhymes. Somethin’ about your samples seem to catch attention. I usually hate ‘em, but this anotha one I’m feelin’. Not bad ta listen ta this; I think this iz tha “times” of tha 1984 babies! It seems like err-body from ’84’s real cool ta deal wit, or I keep dealin’ wit ’84 babies! Dumb shit! My Rating: 3.5

13. Lil’ Boosie & B.G. “Gamez”
>>> Nice beat this time, X! Good lil’ hook wit Boosie talkin’ about people takin’ him as if he was some sorta technology! Hearin’ Gizzle on tha 1st verse, and why iz he so quiet, it sounds like? It’s okay, but too quiet… Boosie’s on tha 2nd verse and he’s quiet, too; increase da vocals, X! But, I’m likin’ all these “gamez” references, such as “Pac-Man!” Tha rest of this iz good…, but quiet! My Rating: 4.4

14. X-Fyle “Flyboyz”
>>> Real nice sounds in tha beginning!! I hope this turns out ta be somethin’ real good… Good job wit tha hook, here; soundin’ nice and “fly!” Tha 1st verse sounds pretty good; why this gotta be 4:31? I like tha long lengths when there’s usually a feature or two… Almost sounds like Max Minelli on tha 2nd verse, but it’s all you? I like tha “kush” line… Despite tha long length, there’s a long beat outro; yea, let dat beat ride out!! My Rating: 4.4

15. X-Fyle Feat. Mouse & Box “Spread My Wings”
LOL! My Current Rating: 4.4

16. X-Fyle Feat. Tank Jones “Let Yourself Go”
>>> No a-tune for me! I’m too old fa dat! I’m 24, X-Fyle!! 20-muthafuckin’-4!! I think I was too old for it when I was 20, 21, too! You were 20, 21 when “Y’all Heard Of Me” started blowin’ up…; no a-tune then! Think, X-Fyle, think! My Rating: 1.0

17. Tre Virdure “Covergirl”
>>> Little would I know that an R&B song would beat a bunch of songs on here. Either way, beat sounds nice for an R&B song, and Tre sounds good, mixin’ it up wit some rap-type topics wit tha “car.” Also, interestin’ vocals durin’ tha verses… My Rating: 3.3

18. X-Fyle Feat. Lil’ Boosie, B.G. & Louisiana Ca$h “Bottom Of The Boot”
>>> Nice beat; great super Louisiana collaboration, here… My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Before I comment, I have ta say, thank God you don’t have tha BR rapper that robbed me outta a ½ stack on here! You produced fa him, and you were smart enough ta not put him on here! That’s a good look, X-Fyle; glad you’re so smart! Anyway, not tha best compilation, but I’ll give you credit for puttin’ some good songs on here.

Reviewed on 12.27.2010 (Review #771)

Here’s my 7th review of tha day, 91st of tha month: Mack Maine “The Laxative”; lol @ tha front cover! Start Time: 3:40 PM | End Time: 4:13 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Young Money, Cash Money”
>>> Not too crazy ‘bout tha cliché in tha beginning but it sounds like a good hook plus tha production. Ooh, “that’s why your bitch wanna swallow our seed;” crazy shit! Tha 1st verse ain’t bad; you got dis consistent shit on lock as well as tha beat helpin’ you out. My Rating: 4.2

02. “Ghetto Commandments” Feat. T-Pain & Snoop Dogg
>>> Tha beat start sounds nice. Even though T-Pain ain’t for me, it sounds pretty nice this time… I guess ‘til it goes Pop. T-Pain rappin’ on tha 1st verse, lol? Sounds odd… You’re on tha 2nd verse and you’re layin’ down tha rules; good shit. ROFL @ this “[pissin’] in tha bed,” lol. I dunno about tha blood part but whateva. Snoop’s on tha 3rd verse, spittin’ some pretty-good quality here. My Rating: 3.9

03. “We Do This (Top Of The Dome Freestyle)”
What do we got here? >>> “I’m about ta go ham”? Ain’t dat Baton Rouge or was it first in Georgia? Not bad on tha verse; you’re rappin’ like it’s nothin’. Not too crazy ‘bout tha “money” shit but I like tha “chalk” part. Tha beat sounds good ta hold dis shit down… My Rating: 3.8

04. “Young Mulah Baby” Feat. Gorilla Zoe
>>> Wonder who KE iz (I don’t think I know who they are) that produced dis. Dis beat ain’t too bad and Gorilla Zoe sounds not bad wit his character comin’ into play here. LOL @ tha hook and how tha surround came outta nowhere, lol. As far as tha end of tha hook (and where tha title came from), ehh, not bad. You’re decent on tha 2nd verse, rappin’ for fun. My Rating: 3.8

05. “Up Jumps Da Boogie”
>>> Beat iz good once again. Not bad wit tha rappin’; what iz goin’ on here? I dunno about tha 4 ¼-minute length but not bad… Tha hook’s a lil’ cliché and aight fa me… My Rating: 3.5

06. “Victory” Feat. Jae Millz & Lil’ Wayne
Everytime I see Jae Millz, I smh @ how much he changed since tha crazy Millz I knew from tha ’03 – ’06 dayz! Tha beginning’s aight; I like tha crowd-soundin’ beat. LOL, tha “ow” sounded like Zombie’s Ate My Neighbors when somebody gets kidnapped, lol! Sounds consistent wit tha rappin’… Wayne sounds a lil’ gay; I guess ‘cause I’m sick of tha Wayne/Drake flow and how much it appears. My Rating: 4.0

07. “Nathin’”
Looks like a funny version of “nothin’”, lol. >>> Sounds like you’re excited but why tha five-minute length? LOL, it iz; interestin’, catchy hook. Even tha rappin’s pretty catchy; good, mainstream-soundin’ jam here. My Rating: 4.1

08. “Coach”
>>> Sounds soft; this iz “mixtape” material? I thought mixtapes “go hard”? Why tha long length again? Not that bad on tha verse but tha hook’s soft fa me. My Rating: 3.1

09. “What You Want” Feat. Lloyd
>>> Lloyd sounds a lil’ scary in tha beginning. He could’ve sounded betta than ta scare me. On tha hook, he ain’t that bad but this iz nothin’ special fa me. He even has a verse? A lil’ too much Lloyd here… I guess it’s ‘cause it’s his song featuring you? Here you are, finally, contributin’ to tha decent song… LOL @ tha “pussy … dike” part. My Rating: 3.4

½time: Pretty good so far; didn’t expect it but 3.8 iz tha CD rating, at tha moment.

10. “My Reality” Feat. Lil’ Wayne & Gudda Gudda
LOL, Timbaland beat? >>> Uh no, gay-soundin’ Wayne; skippin’ his verse! Why iz he—faget dis A-Tune bullshit! My Rating: 1.0

11. “Funny Style” Feat. Kid Cudi
>>> A lil’ more normal here. I like how tha hook sounds on dis beat. Sounds like a pretty good mainstream song; how will you come on tha 1st verse? Interestin’… True shit ‘bout tha “internet gangstas.” Glad you spittin’ some good shit. Tha way tha beat sounds (and how tha hook sounds) reminds me of some of tha 2002 Eminem-type shit wit tha good vibes. My Rating: 3.8

12. “Bitch I’m From New Orleans” Feat. Lucci Lou
Lucci Lou’s on tha feature? Neva knew dat unless dis a new version… >>> Sounds good still. I think I only heard dis dat one day on MTV Jams durin’ tha five-year Katrina anniversary, when they had Louisiana videos on all day. Tha 1st verse’s pretty good and tha hook’s catchy, too. I really like when tha title’s said; good energy wit what you bring, lol! LOL!!! :rofl Huh? Lucci Lou ain’t tha female dat was wit Michie One? SMH… Disappointin’ but whateva… My Rating: 4.0

13. “Groundhog Day” Feat. Mayday, Ghostwridah & Cee-Lo
>>> Ooh, Cee-Lo in tha beginning, doin’ a nice job on tha hook. Tha beat’s pretty fast (like a Gnarls Barkley song); sounds good! Good shit here, ya dig? Tha rest iz pretty good, too. My Rating: 4.3

14. “Moonshine”
>>> Sounds like anotha soft song; what tha hell wit tha beginning sound? Tha rappin’ wit tha title’s kinda odd for me ta hear for some reason. I dunno why but this iz a lil’ Poppy fa me. Tha hook ain’t too bad… My Rating: 3.2

15. “I’m In Love”
>>> This anotha weird-soundin’ beginning. LOL, almost thought it was 3LW on tha hook. Somewhat catchy; I like dis betta than tha previous song. My Rating: 3.3

16. “Pom Pom’s”
>>> Now, we have a tight beginning wit tha beat! Tha hook sounds tight, too; good combo. Not bad wit tha rappin’, either. You’re keepin’ it consistent, too. My Rating: 4.1

17. “Smash Session” Feat. Boo
>>> Damn, 5:42, are you serious? Tha beat’s pretty hot and so iz tha beginning! I’m likin’ all this “eatin’” shit, lol! Good “I am tha director; baby, we can cut it” part; nice line! Tha return of Boo here and he sounds good, too. Nice collab and consistent song although real long! My Rating: 4.2

18. “30 Minutes To New Orleans” (Lil’ Wayne)
>>> How gay fa a bonus; completely ruined your CD rating! My Rating: 1.0

Overall: Not that bad although only a couple songs shouldn’t’ve been here. We were in tha 3.0 – 4.3 rating range and then, two Auto-Tune/garbage songs came outta nowhere.

Rankings:

18.       “My Reality” Feat. Lil’ Wayne & Gudda Gudda 1.0
17.       “30 Minutes To New Orleans” (Lil’ Wayne) 1.0
16.       “Coach” 3.1

Reviewed on 8.26.2010 (Review #630)

On tha grind here, ya heard me?!? Doin’ a VERY anticipatin’ review for my boy Savage a.k.a. Sav Rothstein “No Rest, No Sleep”!! Already, tha 2nd one’s in tha making right now so you KNOW I had ta FINALLY review this one!! Start Time: 3:12 PM | End Time: 4:11 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. Intro
Time ta start thangz off! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ what you got here, Sav!! >>> I agree wit this “same type of people” shit in tha beginning here; nice ta point dat out, Sav!! Tha lil’ intro beat sounds REAL HOT too, ya dig?!? My Rating: N/A

02. “Big Nuttz (Buku Barz)”
You mean “buku” and not “boocoo”? I gon put “buku” ‘cause that’s tha REAL spellin’ when it comes ta tha Louisiana representaz, ya dig!! Yung Joc made a spellin’ like “bookoo” which makes it sound like a fake-representation. :Td Of course, you produced tha track so you KNOW it gon go hard!! >>> Yup, tha beat’s pretty gutta here and you doin’ a NICE job here for tha 1st verse!! DEFINITELY representin’ fa “yo city” to tha fullest at ALL times!!! Glad ERR-BODY fucks wit you REAL, REAL HEAVY, Sav!!! All these “barz” are REAL, REAL NICE!!! GR8 job, ya dig!! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Certified G”
You on tha beat (of course), Troy Chapman did tha bass and Boogie did tha lead guitar so you KNOW it gon go hard!! >>> Good intro and tha first few seconds gave me a high BPM feel at first. But, now dat I hear tha actual beat, it sounds REAL, REAL HOT!!! Sounds like sounds I’d hear in tha Early/Mid 2000’s (like your “Old Schools” song wit Lil’ Handy & Webbie)!!! :tu This iz DEFINITELY addictive ta hear and you’re doin’ a NICE job wit tha rappin’; very consistent here!!! Tha hook sounds pretty nice and it goes wit this mixtape’s title; “no rest, no sleep! No rest, no sleep” for tha “No Rest, No Sleep”!! :tu Consistent, real-ass street shit in tha 2nd verse here; just GR8 Savage shit!! You’re one of those people that NEVA gets boring and ALWAYS has tha anticipation in my opinion!! My Rating: 4.7

04. “Get To Da Point”
You doin’ all tha production here so you KNOW this gon keep it goin’!! >>> Yup, I hear dat anticipatin’ Savage sound in tha beginning of tha beat here!! Pretty nice job on tha 1st verse here and I like tha “in tha water” shit in tha hook, ya dig!! Tha hook sounds like you’re makin’ a “point” fa those ta “get to da point,” lol; good shit! Tha 2nd verse iz dat consistent shit from you and you handlin’ yo bidness REAL GOOD!! Tha 3rd verse iz pretty tight here; “hit ya like tha … bulldozer!” DEFINITELY nice shit here, Sav!! My Rating: 4.5

05. “UGK (True Story)”
You did tha beat but I rememba Bun B havin’ a song a ½ decade ago wit nearly tha same name; let’s see what you got ta say here… >>> Sounds like a dedication ta Pimp C or somethin’ here; nice, laidback Southern beat from you here! :tu Tha hook sounds pretty tight; I like how it even has a lil’ Pimp C-influence in it too wit how you sing it! LOL, this iz a clean version? Heard “pussy” reversed or somethin’… Now, I heard, “fuck;” lol, ½ clean? Anyway, you spittin’ dat “true” shit in tha 1st verse so you KNOW you doin’ ya thang!! Tha hook’s just hella catchy; it’s REALLY tha truth here wit err-body doin’ all kinds of shit! Tha 2nd verse iz interestin’ here, especially tha “talkin’ to a brick wall” part; you know how ta keep dis Rap shit continuous, consecutive and consistent, Sav!! LOL @ all those C’s but it’s tha truth!! Tha 3rd verse iz pretty painful wit “your boy Johnny shot;” gutta shit here, Sav!! My Rating: 4.4

06. “Bom Bom” Feat. Young Ready & Mel 985
First feature and you’re doin’ tha beat here; REAL high anticipation fa dis one!!! >>> Was wonderin’ what tha first six seconds was; sounded like a door got closed or somethin’. Now, I hear tha beat and it sounds like you’re REALLY anticipatin’ dis, Sav, wit how you sound gangsta in tha beginning!! Tha beat’s REALLY HOT and it gives dat gangsta attribute to tha track ta make it sound like it gon be REAL, REAL HOT!!! You’re on tha 1st verse and tha rhymes are DEFINITELY fulla gangstaness!! Ooh, more shit added to tha beat @ :58!! Keep this HOT, anticipatin’-consistent shit comin’!! LOL, a lil’ jackin’ wit tha “I ain’t no killa, but, don’t push me” in tha beginning but tha way it’s rapped on tha hook iz DEFINITELY tight!! VERY, VERY catchy here and tha 2nd verse sounds like it’s continuin’ ta be REAL, REAL HOT wit you on it!! LOL @ tha “small” comin’ outta nowhere in tha 2nd verse too; almost reminded me of how Drake would say somethin’ in his raps. Ready’s on tha 3rd verse here and I’m glad he spittin’ some gangsta-ass shit once again!! Good shit and unexpectedly, here comes dat boy Mel 985 on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse!! Sounds like a good combination, especially how he keeps it G to tha fullest!! Tha acapella shit at tha end iz PRICELESS!!! :tu My Rating: 4.8

07. “I Ain’t Aight” Feat. Level & Young Ready
Yay!! Mo Savage productions wit REAL TIGHT features too!! >>> Yea, ANOTHA REAL, REAL HOT sound in tha beat and tha hook’s soundin’ CRAZY here wit tha beat!!! Level’s on tha 1st verse and he REALLY doin’ tha damn thang here while you REALLY, REALLY supply tha beat, Savage!! Those sounds just GET IN YO VAINS!!! :tu REAL NICE job right there, Level; it’s ALL GR8 shit when y’all hit tha studio wit Savage!!! And speakin’ of you, Sav, you’re on tha 2nd verse and I almost thought you were Derty fa a second when tha verse started, lol! It’s dat Baton Rouge shit I can REALLY like here; you have one of those DEFINING SOUNDS when it comes ta production as well as Beat Flippa, Q-Red and others!!! :tu Ready’s on tha 3rd verse and this iz DEFINITELY dat HOT-ASS shit while you just keep it goin’ on tha beat, Sav!!! My Rating: 4.8

08. “I’m On Now (Don’t Know How To Act)”
Back ta just you, Sav; let’s keep tha beats goin’!! >>> I like these lil’ intros you be puttin’ in tha beginning, ya dig!! Tha hook and beat’s DEFINITELY on point right here!! SOOOOO CONSISTENT!!! I hear a different title? Oh, I see a different title too on tha mp3 info (since KJ Armour uploaded it). “I’m On Now” (back cover) a.k.a. “Don’t Know How To Act” (mp3 info). Tha 1st verse sounds like you just REALLY focused when it comes ta keepin’ it consistent!! :tu Good-ass job, Savage!! Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re just REALLY handlin’ it in a REAL GR8 way!! This tha shit you just GOTTA LUV!!! Yea, a 3rd verse fit here and all tha “-aye” shit towards tha end of each line (how it sounds) sounds REAL catchy so you DEFINITELY doin’ tha damn thang on these beats!!! My Rating: 4.6

½time: THIS CD’s ON FLAMES RIGHT NOW!!! Tha average CD rating’s at a WHOPPIN’ 4.6 right now; KEEP BRINGIN’ ALL DAT HEAT, SAV!!! REAL, REAL, REAL NICE JOB ON THA BEATS and THUMBS UP to tha features too!!!

09. “Smooth Getaway” Feat. Reuben Lael
This time, it’s a collaboration between you and Big Onk (think I read dat right as it’s kinda small via tha DatPiff pic) on tha beat. Looks like it gon be a lil’ breather or somethin’; let’s see… >>> Yea, sounds like tha stripped-down version of you. This iz pretty good though and it sounds like it samples somethin’ in tha beat, which I’m feelin’! Tha 1st verse from you iz just makin’ me think of all tha 95-106 weather we had on Long Island, NY durin’ July. Too bad it’s like tha 60’s now in Northeast PA! :td Ooh, tha hook sounds REAL NICE (just like tha song this samples)! I’m actually feelin’ this singin’ as it’s hella catchy!! Tha 2nd verse also sets a nice mood here wit how you comin’ through wit tha rhymes, Sav! Tha 3rd verse sounds pretty good also, Sav; settin’ tha mood once again! LOL @ endin’ it wit “get ya mind off dem mid-terms;” I feel like my mind gon go back to college in four dayz and I’m hella behind wit all these reviewz. :( Nice job here from tha both of y’all! My Rating: 4.5

10. “Shit, Yeah” Feat. Mouse On Tha Track
Uh oh, this BIG sayin’!! Saw this on WOS but you know I wait for tha review ta hear it!! Thought there were different people on tha feature at first but I guess I was wrong (‘cause you be havin’ buku jointz); let’s see how HOT this iz!!! >>> You KNOW I fuckin’ go fa this!!! This iz DEFINITELY tha shit; LUVIN’ all tha “shit, yeah”s!!! :tu REAL NICE JOB ON THA HOOK!!! You’re very energetic here on tha 1st verse, Sav, lol!! I luv these kinda anthems from you and no wonder how I heard Level say, “shit, yea,” tha same way you say it here on that “Money Right” song of Lil’ Cali’s although wasn’t that out first? I dunno but I always feel like since you have a song called “Shit, Yeah,” that it prolly made it a catchy habit (of how to say it) for Level, ya dig? Tha 2nd verse sounds catchy and just makes me REALLY anticipate dat hook, ya dig!!! Mouse’s on tha 3rd verse and there was like a loss of character at first but he kept tha “shit, yeah”s goin’ along and did a pretty good job. However, I think you REALLY hold down this track, Sav; your voice REALLY stands out on it!! My Rating: 4.8

11. “My Nigga”
Keep tha tracks and GR8 topics goin’, Sav!! >>> Your hot beat start and it sounds like you’re singin’ in tha beginning here… Now dat I’m hearin’ tha title repeat, it sounds like dis gon be pretty catchy… Tha hook iz DEFINITELY tha shit although I don’t feel like this fa people on a REAL serious note! Example: One of my aight friends from college got outta jail yesterday and he was like, “You got $20 so I can get a ride back to my house?” His house iz like three hours away… I didn’t feel like I would’ve did dat for him ‘cause I expect certain friends to be cool wit me in a serious way. Like, I told him to hang wit me when he got out and dat ain’t lookin’ like it’s happenin’… Someone like Yung Yola (who’s currently in jail), yea, I’d do some shit fa him! I tried to get 100 people from his MySpace to give $20 each to his sista and no one but me did it although I wasted $20 ‘cause it didn’t arrive (I was stupid ta too-creatively put cash in tha envelope). But, I got him wit a $5 money order; Yola’s my dawg fa life and I REALLY am down fa him, ESPECIALLY since he made me tha president of his 99 Wayz 2 Grind Ent. label! Anyway, on wit tha song: Strong opinion when it comes ta ya boyz, which makes it a real good hook! Tha 1st verse sounds pretty dedicated too; it’s all luv! I just look forward ta people showin’ me luv in person! I hope Louisiana can open up lots of doors fa me!! Real shit in tha 2nd verse, ya dig! I kinda “count favors” at times. On a different note, I count letters sent to people (since I save what I write). Since May 2009, I’ve written Yung Yola 18 letters; I’m REAL down fa who’s REAL serious about what I do, ESPECIALLY since I REALLY want him ta get out and am REAL cool wit his sista!! Tha 3rd verse even keeps this shit goin’ to tha fullest; dumb shit, Sav! My Rating: 4.4

12. “Like Dat” Feat. Mack Maine
A golden feature for you, lol? Glad you’re just doin’ every beat here!! How will this sound for a borderline look on tha ID? >>> At least you still keepin’ it G wit tha HOT-ASS beats!!! You emerged pretty nice in tha 1st verse here; strictly serious shit when it comes ta how you perfect your quality!! LOL, must be a real verse from Maine ‘cause you’re on tha hook here, spittin’ some good shit! Nice, catchy hook from you, Sav! It’s really “like dat!” Okay, let’s see Mack Maine’s 2nd verse… Wow, startin’ off wit “x-pillz,” lol! He sounds pretty focused fa you! How much did his feature cost? I know you got buku money to tha fullest so you KNOW you got good accesses, Savage!! Tha lyrics in tha 2nd verse are kinda borin’ me a lil’ (I kinda feel dat way most of tha time on tha mainstream artists) but he’s keepin’ tha flow consistent so dat’s what’s up! Glad he shouted you out towards tha end of his verse too! My Rating: 4.3

13. Ace & Mitch
No production? Iz this a jacked beat or somethin’ else? >>> Oh, a skit; shit, yea, lol! Very catchy; feelin’ all your intros and skits you bring to tha table here!! My Rating: N/A

14. “Exit Plan”
NICE title and shit, yea, you’re on tha beat again!! >>> Still luvin’ your beats and this one’s soundin’ just as good!! Tha 1st verse sounds like some serious shit ‘bout tha “money;” good shit, Sav! Tha hook’s interestin’, ESPECIALLY wit this title and this topic!! Likin’ tha whole “escapin’” theme! Continuin’ ta like tha shit in tha 2nd verse too; VERY consistent wit how you do tha damn thang!! Good job here wit this shit; thought I’d hear a 3rd verse but tha length’s kinda short… My Rating: 4.3

15. “Po’ Me Up”
Think there’s an error as “’em” instead of “me” on tha back cover. Anyway, you and Big Onk on tha beat again as well as Max on tha guitar; let’s see how this’ll sound… >>> Likin’ tha laidback feel again and it sounds REAL GR8 for tha South!! You sound either seductive for tha ladies or really ready drinkin’ wit tha way you deliverin’ tha 1st verse, lol! Sounds good wit how you doin’ tha catchy-ass hook! LOL, how drunk were you when you made/finished this, lol? Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re REALLY feelin’ this shit and just BEGGIN’ ta be in tha mood and set tha mood here when it comes ta tha HOT shit! LOL @ tha “po’in’” at tha end! My Rating: 4.3

16. “My City”
You know I like titles like dis and of course, you on tha beat again!! >>> Sounds like a catchy-ass beat start! Lots of real shit in tha 1st verse, just spittin’ about how “ratchet” err-body iz in “yo city.” A lil’ too gutta but at least, tha music sounds tha best! Yea, “BR = Been Ratchet,” although there’s a bunch of meanings… Really enjoyin’ tha catchiness of this hook right here, ya dig! You DEFINITELY know how ta hold down a beat and add GR8 rhythms and melodies to ‘em, ya dig?!? Tha 2nd verse has mo real shit comin’ outta it. As far as tha “fathers,” I think there’s a lotta kids or somethin’ bein’ born, especially at an early age; that’s my perspective. Tha 3rd verse has some strong content too wit what’s comin’ outta “yo city” once again, ya dig? Good shit here, Sav! My Rating: 4.4

17. “What Happened To Da Real”
Last song usually sounds sad for me… Same lineup on tha production as “Certified G” so let’s see… I mean, you GOTTA keep tha groove movin’, Sav!! Oh, and shout out for gettin’ ViperGFX for tha cover; gotta keep dat dude grindin’!!! >>> Yea, a lil’ bit of a sad vibe but I still hear tha REAL GR8 shit in tha beat here when you be producin’ it!! Doesn’t sound too bad in tha 1st verse here; keepin’ it street and consistent wit tha rhymes so dat’s a DEFINITE plus!! I feel dat this iz listenable; nothin’ wrong wit it at all… Okay, tha hook’s DEFINITELY “real” to tha fullest!! How can people “not be 100” when they claim ta “be 100”? I’m likin’ how you sing on tha hook too; nothin’ ta fear but somethin’ ta listen to!! Tha 2nd verse has a lotta real shit goin’ on here; feelin’ each and every rhyme you spittin’!! I like tha start to tha 3rd verse wit tha “favors returned;” good shit here, Sav!! Kinda short verse but nice job here! I like how you have an outro on this too! At least you make this shit feel really “real,” ya dig!! I don’t rememba tha last time I had a seven-page review fa somethin’ only 17 songs long; you kept it REAL interestin’ throughout this WHOLE CD!!! My Rating: 4.0

Overall: Like I said before: How REAL of a CD from Baton Rouge just DOIN’ THA DAMN THANG!!! REAL GLAD you stayin’ on ya grind wit tha production!! I show BUKU LUV ta you on my radio show, ESPECIALLY wit ALL tha shit you’ve made since “She’s A Poppa”, ya dig!! A NICE five-star rated CD from you; keep doin’ tha damn thang and good luck wit Vol. 2!!

Review #376: Birdman "Pricele$$"

Reviewed on 12.30.2009 (Review #376)

Still here on tha night of December 29, lol! I finna do my 6th review for today! Yea, it’s Birdman Pricele$$. I’m tryna review every Louisiana CD so this one had ta get reviewed… especially before tha year ends. Anyway, here goes my review for Birdman Pricele$$. Start Time: 12:21 AM | End Time: 9:54 AM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

© 2009 CD Review by FrankieThaLuckyDog. Other than tha main artist or affiliated people with tha main artist, this review iz to not be used in anyone else’s words!

01. “Intro”
T-Minus on tha beat here… Let’s see what’s cooked up fa tha Birdman, lol! >>> Tha beat iz pretty cool and you sound okay fa a start on this intro… You’re ALWAYS laced wit kick-ass beats. It was an okay intro fa what it was. I wonder what this CD’ll be like… My Rating: 3.8

02. “Been About Money”
I.N.F.O. did this beat; let’s see how it sounds… >>> Welcome anotha future producer here! This sounds too typical though wit tha topic and how it sounds on tha hook… Tha 1st verse was okay… I don’t know what I’m gonna say wit a song like this that has such a typical topic that I hear so much in tha mainstream these dayz… If it wasn’t for this HOT beat, this wouldn’t’ve lasted. An okay 2nd verse once again also… Even tha 3rd verse can be thrown inta tha typical verses throughout this song. My Rating: 3.6

03. “Money To Blow” Feat. Drake & Lil’ Wayne
A Drumma Boy beat here… I know this iz a mainstream song and has been out for a while now. However, after April 2009, I stopped followin’ tha whole “mainstream sources” on gettin’ every single song that airs on a station so I neva got ta completely hear this. Lemme see tha song in its entirety… >>> I slightly have heard this and wit Drake in tha beginning, it’s catchy. Tha hook iz anotha catchy part too. You’re on tha 2nd verse and I can’t really leave feedback; there’s no catchy lyrics as they’re usually tha same everytime I hear you… Wayne part was also ehh on tha 3rd verse too. My Current Rating: 3.7

04. “Money Machine”
Huh? How did X-Fyle do a beat here? I thought by reviewin’ an artist like you that I’d be far away from my Louisiana peeps in Baton Rouge… But as cool as it seems, how will you handle tha typical topic? >>> Not only iz it typical wit tha topic but tha “Stuntin’ Like My Daddy” Weezy sample iz in tha hook. I like it but how many times have I heard it since 2006 when it first came out? Birdman, what if tha world was “moneyless?” What would you do? How much water would you have in your system? LOL… For a mainstream CD, at least this iz a good X-Fyle beat. I like how tha beat sounds in tha 2nd verse… I still have no feedback on any of tha shit you’re spittin’. Damn, talk about a long-ass 2nd verse? My Rating: 3.4

05. “Pricele$$” Feat. Lil’ Wayne
Timbaland did this beat and it’s 5:33? It BETTA be worth my time!! Anotha money title, lol! Tha album title should’ve just been called Money; plain & simple! >>> Sounds gay in tha beginning wit Wayne. Still comin’ through okay on tha 1st verse; you’re lucky I’m more awake than usual right now! I would prolly be fallin’ asleep right outta my chair! Tha hook iz pretty gay fa me; can’t stand tha vocal style!! Boring 2nd verse… For a Timbaland beat, where tha hell iz tha catchy sounds??? *Yawn* A horrible soundin’ Weezy interlude before tha 3rd verse. Finally, I can quote one of your lines, lol! I like tha “cookin’ like it’s gumbo” part! I’m slowly gettin’ tired listenin’ ta this… Do I have ta wait anotha 70 seconds? My Rating: 2.2

06. “Bring It Back” Feat. Lil’ Wayne
LOL, you did tha beat? This was an old Weezy title from ’04… >>> Not 100% inta tha beat here… Tha sounds may be cool but it doesn’t sound tha best. WTF’s up wit tha style in Wayne’s voice on tha hook? Sounds like a computer… LOL, you’re comin’ through gangsta wit tha “tool in your hand;” lol? Okay verse although quite boring still. Wayne’s vocals are so hypnotic on tha hook, rofl! I think we’re still on tha “money” topic too, lol. No comment on tha 2nd verse too… Anotha odd 3rd verse. Just ‘cause of dat weird hook, this should be above all tha otha songs. My Rating: 3.9

07. “Nightclub”
LOL, anotha X-Fyle beat? How did y’all become so cool wit each otha? >>> I still have tha last hook in my head, lol! You and your money durin’ tha 1st verse. Since you LUV it so much, how much did you pay X-Fyle for tha beats here? Huh, tha hook already? Why no transition? Neva mind, I seem confused. Does tha hook start wit tha gay-ass Auto-Tune? Sounded nasty on tha vocals. Tha 2nd verse was more fulla dat ehh/ugh shit… It’s like I’m bein’ put ta sleep or somethin’. You STILL spittin’ typical lyrics in tha 3rd verse; Y-A to tha W-N!! My Rating: 2.1

08. “4 My Town (Play Ball)” Feat. Drake & Lil’ Wayne
Tha producer here iz Boi-1da. I heard of him before on some various CDs I prolly reviewed… Let’s see what we got here wit this “play ball” shit… >>> LOL @ tha first two seconds wit tha “ball.” You were in tha beginning wit your boring typicalness. Then, I heard tha hook from Drake and it was okay. He was also on tha 1st verse soundin’ good too. You took ova tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse, takin’ Drake’s shine away, sadly. His part was way betta… Nothin’ ta say about tha 2nd verse… Did I miss Weezy, lol? LOL, talk about driftin’ off!! My Rating: 3.6

09. “Hustle” Feat. Gudda & Lil’ Wayne
We got a Drew dude on tha beat; let’s see what happens… >>> What’s wit tha typical Wayne hook? He ain’t even in tha ID, lol? I just gon put him in there anyway… Why was dat recycled Wayne (from “Dear Lord”?) part added ta this song? I guess tha 1st verse iz from Gudda? It’s pretty good; more on tha more-explorive type-shit wit tha topics, lol! I find it funny how Wayne was just left outta tha ID! Time ta laugh! No comment on his part on tha 2nd verse too. You’re on tha 3rd verse and talk about typicalness… “play like a ball;” yawn… My Rating: 2.8

½time: Not really a CD I would like… Good beats but borin’ verses. Tha features are kinda typical but tha producers (e.g., X-Fyle) have it on lock here! Only 3.2 iz tha average CD rating currently…

10. “Shinin’” Feat. T-Pain
I don’t wanna hear this and T-Pain did tha beat too… >>> Nothin’ excitin’ here for a start. Anotha uncommented verse from you and dat hook iz just TOO gay fa me!! My God, “shinin’ like a spot, SPOT;” WTF!? Sounds like Drake wrote your 2nd verse ‘cause it sounds like you have his flow? LOL @ tha flow on tha 3rd verse wit tha “er”s! That was an attention grabber but still, nothin’ special still! My Rating: 1.9

11. “Mo Milly” Feat. Drake & Bun B
Got Boi-1da on tha beat again… This iz a betta collaboration and looks like it’s aimin’ fa tha “money” topic again, lol… >>> Sounds like some Summer-type vibes in tha beginning…; nothin’ special though. I don’t know what ta say about tha 1st verse… There’s nothin’ ta comment about. I like how Drake iz comin’ through on tha 2nd verse; catchy shit here FINALLY!! LOL @ his “I just lost my Gucci sandal in tha sand” part; nice shit! Bun sounds pretty good on his part throughout tha 3rd verse! Glad he contributed ta tha mixtape also! My Rating: 3.8

Break: I didn’t wanna take a break but this CD REALLY made me wanna fall asleep! Will it take faeva fa me ta get up? I dunno… *Sleeps* … *Gets up*

12. “I Want It All” Feat. Lil’ Wayne & Kevin Rudolf
And even Kevin Rudolf produced this one (a lotta self-producin’ on this CD, lol?)… I can just imagine what gon happen when I hear it… >>> More on tha 110–120 BPM style here wit tha faster beat… I usually go for this type of stuff but it’s kinda off to a cheesy start… It sounded like a cheesy Kevin Rudolf hook but it’s still a lil’ catchy. Tha 1st verse from you sounded different from this CD so it’s at least a lil’ bit of a plus… This iz DEFINITELY nowhere near a Louisiana sound though. Wayne was okay/nothin’ special on his part on tha 2nd verse. You even have a 3rd verse here and it sounds like you’re tryin’ ta be catchy; okay verse fa you. My Rating: 3.7

13. “Always Strapped (Remix)” Feat. Lil’ Wayne & Mack Maine
Mr. Beatz beat… I’ve known this one for a while due to Music Choice and a lil’ bit of MTV play. I liked this betta than tha remix I originally heard wit Ross on it and tha hook iz more on my “deadly ’07 dayz” type soundin’ wit tha dickridin’ Wayne sound. At least tha Wayne verse here iz good; all interestin’ rhymes here. Mack Maine sounded good fa his part on tha 2nd verse. Why’d “Got Money (Remix)” make him turn into Pop-Rap? That’s what I feel like… Sounds like a typical verse from you on tha 3rd verse… There were a lotta singles from this CD that were released. Then again, that’s what it’s like in tha mainstream today. My Current Rating: 3.8

14. “MP”
Olympicks did this beat; will they be good? >>> Somethin’ about “chickens” in tha beginning/hook/sample? It sounds like a cool intro but will it hold off anotha four minutes? I guess I won’t hate on your 1st verse; it was okay. Now, it’s more on tha typical side for tha 2nd verse so I don’t need ta say anything. You’re SO blinged out on tha 3rd verse too…, lol! My Rating: 3.7

15. “Ball Till Ya Fall” Feat. Gucci Mane
Anotha Boi-1da beat… >>> Sounds like “A Milli” type beat in tha beginning; did he really produce dat beat? LMAO, Gucci Mane on tha 1st verse! LOL @ them not sourcin’ Gucci on tha feature! How you leave a name like dat out? It might’ve increased sales a lil’ bit if he was listed, lol!! It was an okay verse, regardless. Tha hook iz just simple wit tha title… I like how you come in wit tha “kush” part in tha beginning of tha 2nd verse. I don’t have much ta say also about tha verse once again… I don’t need ta say anything about tha 3rd verse too. I guess I’ll describe it in one word: “Birdmanful;” it has your typicalness in it. My Rating: 3.5

16. “Grindin’, Making Money” Feat. Lil’ Kim & Nicki Minaj
Anotha Mr. Beatz joint… At least wit Lil’ Kim on this, can we get some shit on and poppin’ here? >>> I don’t like tha start… Oh no, Kim has been Auto-Tuned! Her lyrics were betta than yours and I’m sure she’s grindin’ harder wit tha rhymes here, lol. Still, I don’t like all this Auto-Tune shit! As for you on tha 2nd verse, it may be Auto-Tuneless but Kim did a betta job! As for Nicki on tha 3rd verse, I’ve always had a real low anticipation level for her when I heard her on Dedication 3 last year ‘cause she had a horrible Auto-Tune song. But yea, nothin’ ta say about her verse although I liked her Drake flow. My Rating: 3.1

17. “Written On Her (Remix)” Feat. Jay Sean & Mack Maine
LOL, HERE it iz!! Now, you’ll FINALLY get a 4.0+ rating after 17 songs! Iz that a record or what? And you produced this beat tha whole time? How’d you find out about Morgan Page Feat. Lissie “The Longest Road (Deadmau5 Remix Radio Edit),” which iz what it samples? I DEFINITELY like how you sampled that beat and made it inta a song like this. Tha hook sounds good too wit Jay Sean on it. I rememba hearin’ it for tha first time in tha car, thinkin’ it was “The Longest Road,” but it surprised me. Yea, you had like nothin’ much in tha 1st verse but you did ya thang on tha beat! I didn’t realize this was a remix ‘cause now, we got Mack Maine on tha 2nd verse; lol @ no original version. That’s a lil’ different for a mainstream CD… It was an okay verse from Mack Maine though. LOL, you snuck inta tha 3rd verse here wit your original 3rd verse. It’s a slow flow and typical but I give a thumbs up to tha “purple dro;” you know. LOL, it says it also features Flo Rida; I didn’t hear him? Iz dat an error? LOL… I think it could’ve been left as tha original but it’s okay… I noticed how tha ending has Lissie’s voice as it’s a cold ending. I thought that was interestin’. My Rating: 4.0

18. “Southside (Remix)” Feat. Lil’ Wayne, Rick Ross & Mack Maine
Infamous & Slick did tha beat here… Anotha remix so let’s see how we gon end it (oh yea, I got tha “Deluxe Edition” so iz that why there’s these remixes?)… >>> This sounds like a cool ending song; I like tha beat start a lot. There’s even a catchy Wayne hook here. Good start… But, here you come wit some typicalness on tha 1st verse; yawn… Time for tha 2nd verse… Mack Maine’d out… Sounded interestin’ at 2:08 wit tha “make it outside” part. It was an okay verse once again; how will Ross do? It was okay fa what it was; at least this wasn’t horrible. My Rating: 3.8

Overall: It looks like it took ova nine hours ta review but that’s ‘cause I went to sleep. It really took one hour, 22 minutes total ta review this. Either way, I don’t feel that this CD earned a 3.4 average CD rating but those last songs helped it rise up… I wasn’t crazy about this CD; you sound betta in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon as B-32 (I think that’s tha name).
