Reviewed on 5.04.2009 (Review No. 194)

Well, ya boy Frankie’s back! Today, there was NO BULLSHIT, and I got a lot of rappers’ cell numbers, so that’s watz good! It gettin’ towards tha end of tha day, so I finna get into tha 4th review in my marathon: Gregory D & DJ Mannie Fresh ““D” Rules The Nation”! Tha year iz now 1989, and today iz 5/04, tha New Orleans area code, so thumbs up!! Start Time: 11:47 PM | End Time: 12:58 AM | Video Game Playing: Kirby's Avalanche (for Super Nintendo)

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Clap To This”
Let’s see how this CD gon be different from tha “Throwdown” (1987) CD I reviewed yesterday… >>> Not bad on tha 1st verse here; decent party song here. There’s nothin’ special about this track, and it doesn’t sound like it could be tha right opening track. Raps were decent, and it’s just good for parties. My Rating: 2.8

02. “This Is How We Do It”
How will this song sound? >>> A lil’ better, but still on tha same shit from tha last song… Nothin’ much on tha lyrics, but I guess Fresh ain’t rappin’ on these songs? My Rating: 2.9

03. “Call Somebody Else”
I have a feeling this’ll be on some otha shit; lemme see… >>> This iz betta, and has a better topic here wit tha title. LOL @ tha “too many headaches” part wit tha “Tylenol” towards tha end. My Rating: 3.4

04. “Cindy”
Anotha song dedicated to tha ladies. Let’s see what I gon say… >>> LOL @ “Stuck Up Cindy,” and that beat intro! Ooh, good, old beat! LOL @ Cindy!! GREAT imitation of Cindy here!! Ooh, Greg said “buku women,” so you KNOW tha term “buku” goes back to tha ‘80s, ya dig! Yung Joc, go stick that FAKE spelling word, “bookoo” (of yours), up yo ass!! My Rating: 4.5

05. “We Want The Funk”
>>> Good mixin’, Fresh. This ain’t so “funky”, but more fast. I couldn’t leave feedback on anything of this song, so I’m just gonna say that its beat was nice and uptempo. My Rating: 3.0

06. “Buck Jump Time”
More hyped-up? >>> Tha beat iz faster, and I don’t know what to say about what’s bein’ said here as well… Again, nothin’ but an okay beat wit good mixin’; still nothin’ to say. My Rating: 2.6

½time: Odd start, yet most of tha songs I ain’t really into. I’m glad tha “Cindy” joint really stood out.

07. “Never Trust A Man”
Maybe this one’ll help regenerate my thoughts and feedback? >>> Good, slow beat, and I like tha “HIV” part in tha intro. Good West Coast style to tha rhythm of tha beat! Good “Santa Claus” type of hook involvin’ HIV. Tha 2nd verse sonuded great to hear on this shit! Great song right here defining HIV wit a NICE beat! Yeah, tha 3rd verse iz tha truth wit tha “keep your penis out tha street,” and all tha shit said after that! I’m smart to still be a virgin. I mean, I wanna lose tha virginity soon, but tha moment ain’t here yet. I don’t know why many females aren’t sexually attracted to me yet… Still, I ain’t goin’ through problems, so it’s all good. I finna continue to deliver these reviewz, commercials, and everything that involves MY talent!! My Rating: 4.3

08. “D Rules The Nation”
Tha title track, so I don’t know what kinda anticipation to have. Go “rule tha nation” 1989 style, lol! >>> This sounds better for an uptempo song. Tha rhymes from Greg sound pretty fast, as well as good vs. typical (from this CD). Nice lil’ hook too wit tha “tha D, tha-tha-tha D. Tha-tha D rules tha nation.” My Rating: 3.8

09. “Uzi Automatic”
Hope to expect some gutta shit, even though what did it sound like in 1989? >>> This sounds like it has betta lyrics in it, as well as a good, LL Cool J feel to it. Yeah, this must be harder on tha lyrics, especially since tha censor came outta nowhere wit tha F word. Uh oh, Greg “ain’t bulls**tin’” (accordin’ to tha censor), lol! Good song that you used your mighty for. My Rating: 3.9

10. “Sneak ‘Em”
I wonder what this joint gon be about… >>> Tha 2nd verse sounded good to hear wit tha bleedin’ and shit like that. However, it seems like too much iz goin’ on here. I mean, tha flow iz good, although a lil’ too fast wit tha fast beat, so I can’t really say much. My Rating: 3.2

11. “Hitman”
Anotha song wit about tha same length (this one bein’ 4:31)… >>> This one iz a fast beat, so I hope it can last for me… Interesting intro about tha “hitman,” so I’m gonna see how much I can get into this before it ends. It gets interesting towards tha near-end wit tha “slangin’ drugs” shit; good job wit that shit. My Rating: 3.5

12. “V.D. Woman”
Shit, all these songs are like 4.5 minutes, lol. What kinda shit do we got in sto’s fo tha females this time? >>> Someone said “bruh” in tha beginning. LOL @ tha “herpies” and “diareeha”!! LOL @ tha hook dedicated to a different version of “Pretty Woman” called “D Woman”, lol. LOL @ “my pee pee hurt.” I don’t know what else to say… Tha beat was pretty fast/”Planet Rock”ish. My Rating: 3.3

13. “Perfect 10”
And to end it, >>> Sounds like a different rapper/voice. I don’t know who that was, but it didn’t fit tha CD, nor tha ending; no feedback. My Rating: 2.2

Overall: Well, below average CD for me. Too much of tha uptempo Dance Rap beats, as well as tha lyrics all bein’ kinda random…
