Review #205: Kilo G "The Sleepwalker"

Reviewed on 5.19.2009 (Review #205)

Ya boy Frankie here on my rappin' granny's computer (yup, she finally got one)! This gon be tha 2nd review today I'mma do, so here it goes: Kilo G "The Sleepwalker"! Start Time: 10:02 PM | End Time: 10:46 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro
What can I expect wit this guy/intro/CD? >>> Tha beat in tha beginning sounds anticipating, and sounds like some shit from now! My Rating: N/A

02. "Cold Blooded Nigga"
*Continued from tha intro* >>> Finally, tha rappin' came at 1:43, and you sound great! Soundin' like Dr. Dre on this shit too. Good 1st verse, and great style here for Rap music! Tha 2nd verse iz comin' in HARD wit tha harder attitude! Sounded great and long. Let's hear what we got fa tha 3rd verse... Iz someone snorin' in tha background in their sleep (e.g., at 5:00 and 5:06)? LOL... You said tha "live and die by tha trigga" line; hopefully tha "trigga" didn't get you. I mean, most people say that Louisiana rappers now are either dead or in jail; hope you're at least well... My Rating: 4.2

03. "Psychopathic Killa"
[I had tha wrong preview, due to a mix up in tha IDs, so I just skipped it.] >>> Took a while for tha 1st verse, but it's a nice start, again. Tha song sounded pretty good, especially fa tha lyrical shit goin' on. I hear tha (R.I.P.) Minnie sample of tha "la la la la la," and then tha HIGH PITCH at tha end she did (to inspire Mariah & X-Tina Aguilera). My Rating: 4.0
½time: Sounds like a good rapper/good CD! I actually read online that this iz tha 1st Cash Money album, so thumbs up! Keep doin' ya thang out there if you still around!

04. "Gangsta Die First"
Tha nice, long lengths here fa tha tracks! Wanna hear what this one gon bring... >>> Sounds like anger applied to this track! Interesting anger here, and sorry to hear about anything that bothers you; GREAT 1st verse! Tha 2nd verse sounded NICE too; nothin' but anger! Tha 3rd verse iz sitll good, although I feel like this joint iz draggin' now... Tha beat could've switched up a lil' more? My Rating: 3.7

05. "Kill His Family"
Looks like anotha anger song! Hopefully this one sounds betta! >>> Sounds different on tha vocals, as well as no anger currently. Sounds more relax since you're "puffin'." This one iz more boring, especially since there's no anger in tha vocals. Still, a good 1st verse. Tha start to tha 2nd verse sounds like there's anger in tha lyrics, but where's tha angered vocals? Tha rappin' iz real consistent in tha 2nd verse as well. Tha 3rd verse right chea has some good lyrics, but that's it. Not a bad rating from me 'cause of tha lyrics. My Rating: 3.6

06. "Down Mutha For Ya"
What will this one be like? >>> Feelin' tha slow flow here, and it sounds like tha flow makes it sound cool wit tha rappin'. Ooh, that beat at 1:29 sounds nice! I like how you said tha title before tha verse ended; cool shit, and good 1st verse. I like your "I ain't tha type to be played, bruh" part in tha 2nd verse. Tha 2nd verse was great, and I noticed you didn't say tha title before tha verse ended, so that was different on this CD. Tha 3rd verse iz real interesting here, especially wit hearin' that you "almost died from a bullet hittin' ya car!" Sorry to hear about that; it's TERRIBLE to know what you go through on a daily basis in tha hood! My Rating: 4.1

07. "Outro"
There's no ID fa this one. I hope I can find a title online... *Checks* Couldn't find anything, so whateva you say right before tha hook, I'll call this that. >>> Sounds like an outro... Nice shout outs. Hearin' at 1:45, and it sounds like a different dude iz shoutin' out more people; who iz that? Anotha person came at about 2:08... I like tha "you ain't gon shoot nuthin' but a nut in ya hand!" part, lol! Oh, right afta that person, rappin' came... Sounds like a great freestyle/rap! More aggressive lyrics too! After that, more shout outs came up... Nice, and now wit only a minute left, what's left? I don't know about all those unfinished line shout outs (wit tha rappin'); they sound weird wit tha echoing. Other than that, you did yo thang wit tha shout outs (as well as your boyz) and tha rappin'! Gonna give this one a rating 'cause of tha rappin' in it. My Rating: 3.9

Overall: This turned out to be a CD wit aight beats, a great attitude, and sum GREAT lyrics in tha hood! Shout out to my boy Young Tazz fa hittin' me up (outta Baton Rouge) approximately 15 seconds right afta I finished this review, lol! We chopped it up a bit, and now that I'm feelin' betta from my fever/headache/strep throat/leg spaz, I'm in music biz mode, ya dig!
