Review #278: S. Fresh "Get It Out Da Mudd (The Mixtape) (Hosted by DJ Infamous)"

Reviewed on 8.12.2009 (Review #278)

Uhhh...!! Ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog back up in this thang, ya dig! Been on a review break due to multiple commercials, as well as computer plug problems and enjoyin' my #1, 2 & 3 success on MySpace video plays for a film maker page! I got a lotta reviewz ta get outta tha way, so I shouldn't be hidin' from them much longer... Startin' it off, after delayin' a lil', iz S. Fresh "Get It Out Da Mudd (The Mixtape) (Hosted by DJ Infamous)"! Start Time: 11:59 PM | End Time: 1:33 AM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro
Let's FINALLY start this thang off!!! >>> Sounds like a movie... Cool. Can imagine what it gon lead into, mixtape style, lol! My Rating: N/A

02. "Get It Out Da Mudd (C.R.E.A.M.)"
Tha title track iz tha 1st actual song... Let's see how good you are from tha "Ask Dem" song! >>> Good DJ Infamous intro, and it sounds like a pretty good drug-type hook. Even betta: Tha 1st verse iz soundin' GREAT wit tha hood/trap lyrics! It's skippin' a lil' on here (got it from Datpiff I think?); bad rip if that tha case from tha ripper... Lyrics soundin' good again on tha 2nd verse here, more on tha gun side. Good starting song. My Rating: 4.1

03. "Ain't I"
Familiar title... Looks like it gon be a mixtape beat from tha Yung L.A. one I'm assumin'... If that's so, then tha previous song I heard sounded like a Young Jeezy beat. >>> Yup, it's this beat. Kinda long for a 30 second intro; could've been like 15, but at least DJ Infamous was in tha beginning. Not bad on tha hook. It sounded betta on tha original version wit tha non-Louisiana Yung L.A. "on dem pillz." This year was so long, forgot this song was big this year for a second. I looked at my 100 most played songs on my iPod this year today, and I was surprised at some of tha older songs from Late 2008/Early 2009 on there. Not bad 1st verse; glad it went wit tha title a lot. Tha 2nd verse aight. I don't know how interested I'm in that flow though... Doesn't sound like it goes hard; it sounds like it's more mainstream feelin'. My Rating: 3.5

04. "Ask Dem Gyrlz" Feat. Lil' Boosie
I know tha remix iz on here... I wonder what tha original sounded like? I'm assumin' it's just Lil' Boosie's verse minused? >>> NO "shout ta Dallas;" thumbs down! Oh yea, this tha clean version too... I always really liked that beat, as well as that hook. Heard it on Music Choice Hip-Hop And R&B months ago (wit Boosie), and I was like, "A new Louisiana song/artist!" You KNOW I get excited when new Louisiana songs get on Music Choice 'cause it feels like it rare now 'cause a lotta tha shit undaground (which iz good, but some needs ta be a lil' mainstream). Tha 1st verse was nice, and oh, Boosie's on this, so this iz tha remix (just a clean version). I'll just pass tha dirty version when it comes up (should've reviewed that one instead of this one), but yea, Boosie always does his thang, and his attitude/style iz REAL TIGHT on this track here! Tha 3rd verse here, and I rememba that "Ocean Drive" line 'cause of a Dance artist I know wit that name, and it was anotha great verse. I had originally reviewed this before, so I don't remember exactly what I said... My Current Rating: 4.5
EDIT: I didn't have tha back cover in tha Datpiff folder... Just downloaded it now, and I see tha "Feat. Lil' Boosie" in tha ID.

05. "That's Presidential"
I think this gon be on that Young Jeezy/Nas beat. Hope you make it interesting w/e it iz! >>> Nope, wrong beat. Sounds like "Shoulder Lean" sampled in tha beat. Must be someone else's beat (might've heard on someone else's mixtape as a jacked beat before), and tha hook sounds pretty good; not bad. Tha 1st verse iz soundin' good; can't really say anything bad about it... Tha 2nd verse, umm... not sure of tha start wit tha "BALLIN'...!!!/FALLIN'...!!!" Jim Jones type part. You sound more borderline Louisiana than officially Louisiana. I see more of a Georgia mix in your music style. Not bad 3rd verse on this too... My Rating: 3.6

06. "Whatcha Want Tonite"
I can't picture how I gon feel wit this one; let's see... >>> Sounded like Auto-Tune in tha beginning... Sounds like a good mainstream hook though. Tha 1st verse soundin' pretty good for tha females. This a real good beat for a song like this! Mixes real nice! Great 2nd verse too. Tha back cover doesn't list a featured artist, so I'm assumin' this a jacked beat, but sounded good! I wonder what tha original version (if there iz) sounds like. My Rating: 4.2

07. "Will Ferrell"
Once again, don't know what to expect... >>> Old beat (not too long ago) that I don't think I liked. LOL, I can't remember it at this moment, but glad you made it into a smoke song!! Feelin' that hook! Nice female in tha hook, and tha 1st verse sounded more like a Louisiana style wit tha "real retarded" part. *EDIT* I rememba tha beat now: Knew it was Gorilla Zoe, but I had "Lost" in my head for a second; it's tha "Waddle" beat (not a bad beat as well)! Glad you transformed that song into this!! Great job on that 1st verse! Not bad on tha 2nd verse here; tha 1st verse sounded better, but it's all about that hook! My Rating: 4.2

08. "L.A. Dawg"
Glad Louisiana's in tha title, as well as you bein' a "dawg"! Too bad it only 2:10... >>> Great job on this hook! Gotta luv how Louisiana iz in tha title once again WHILE I'm hearin' it!! Nice job on tha 1st verse here! Glad tha mixtape iz at a peak right now wit consistency! Now, I'm feelin' tha flow on tha 2nd verse wit tha makin' females horny style wit tha lyrics! Great shit right here, but too short. My Rating: 4.3

09. "Beat It Up"
Tha last song sounded like a "beat it up" type song; what will this be? >>> Sounds like a nice slow beat. Lookin' forward to seein' what comes outta this song... Unexpected singer on tha hook. He like 50/50 wit me likin' him. Nice part from you in tha hook though, as well as that random female soundin' like Beyonce! Short 1st verse; I guess it was good. Okay 2nd verse; not much for me to comment on. My Rating: 3.7

10. "Turn My Lac On"
Not really lookin' forward to hearin' tha Soulja Boy Tell 'Em beat. Hope this ain't gay... >>> Sorry, but after Soulja Boy did that flow on tha hook, I thought that he pulled it off, and that was it. I don't like how you duplicated that flow for tha hook. Nothin' really catchy/different about tha hook, so no comment. However, tha 1st verse here iz regular rappin' instead of that Soulja Boy flow. No comment on tha 1st verse wit catchiness unfortunately. I like how you started off tha 2nd verse wit, "I'm 'bout my bidness, dawg. These otha rappaz slow as fuck!" I feel like that vs. nearly ERR-BODY I deal wit, ya dig!! My uncle Pat said not too long ago, "If you from New York, you operate fast. Everybody that's not from New York operates slow. Example: At a restaurant, it could take someone 15 minutes to serve you french fries." I take that as a special attribute (since I'm a Long Island, NY representa), and when people delay me, I just say, "You're not from New York. I do buku shit within a lil' amount of time 'cause I operate myself fast without forgettin'!" Anyway, nothin' ta say about tha 2nd verse after that line. My Rating: 2.4

½time: Pretty good start to tha CD. About 50/50 for me, but above average wit statistics! Average CD rating currently at 3.8.

11. The Mad Stripper (Skit)
It has this as #11 on tha mp3 (and "Turn My Lac On" as #10). Plus, it doesn't say "skit," so I'm now seein' this as a skit? It's over 5 minutes long, so let's see watz good wit this... >>> I luv skits, talkin' and shit, so this iz a plus for tha beginning!! Gotta luv when black people talk! Still soundin' good, although it needs a few "bruhs" in it! Gettin' boring wit this bitch arguin' on tha phone. Way too long wit this gurl, but it goes wit tha title, so w/e. My Rating: N/A
EDIT: Realized that "Turn My Lac On" ain't even on tha back cover, makin' it look like there only 19 songs instead of 20. What an error...

12. Pork N Beans (Beezy Skit)
Speakin' of New York, my dad used ta say somethin' 'bout pork n beans, and I would put it on my Easter eggs, lol. I still do to this date, lol. With only about a minute on tha length (wit these back 2 back skits), I wonder how good this one'll be? >>> More about tha hoes here... At least this Beezy dude on this skit has a catchy voice for this skit. Too short of a skit, but not bad. Tha whole "Sexyback" thing was 2006; no need ta bring it back in here. My Rating: N/A

13. "Ask Dem Hoes (Remix)" Feat. Lil' Boosie
I guess it's "remix" 'cause of it bein' "hoes" instead of gurlz? Once again: See #4 fa tha review!

14. "Chicks Jockin'"
Now, it's nothin' but female catering... >>> Sounds like a cool beat. I hear tha bomb sound before tha hook. I rather that just stick wit Funkmaster Flex 'cause I would always rememba back in tha day on Hot 97, wheneva a HOT JOINT came out, that bomb would DROP LIKE CRAZY!! It should just stay wit them, and not get on random mixtapes like this. Tha 1st verse sounded better than tha "Turn My Lac On" type of verses. Not bad on tha 2nd verse, doin' yo thang wit this. Finally, a 3rd verse? LOL, it took 14 songs (excludin' "Ask Dem Gyrlz/Hoes" 'cause you didn't have 3 verses)... Regardless, it was aight. Again, I don't really like tha imitating (e.g., Young Jeezy "yeeeeaaaaahhhh!!!"). My Rating: 3.4

15. "Real Nigga Roll Call"
Although most of tha jacked beats are '08ish, this an '04 one. I wonder how crunk you get on this, lol? >>> Neva mind, not Lil' Jon & The East Side Boyz. Sounds good vs. Soulja Boy Tell 'Em "Turn My Swag On"ish in tha beat a lil'. Pretty good hook, and tha 1st verse soundin' good, especially wit tha "roll blunts" part. Sounds like a featured dude on tha hook? He sounds tight, especially wit tha "dawg" part! Tha 2nd verse here, and it soundin' good. Likin' tha flow on this song, and it sounds better than most of your shit on here! Wow, rapid-fire rappin' from 2:17 - 2:22!! Iz that Beezy in tha background (as you gave him a shout out in tha 2nd verse)? Great shit right here! My Rating: 4.4

16. "Luziana Gyrl" Feat. Taronica
I don't like tha spelling of Louisiana in this title this time, lol. Not likin' tha title/catering, and there's a "gyrl" (how you spell it) on tha feature, so here goes nothin'... >>> LOL @ that length; a lil' ova 1:20! Maybe I won't worry, and at least it Keri Hilson/Lil' Wayne "Turn Me On" beat wit a lil' bit of beat effects in tha beat! Just an okay verse from you, but tha "gyrl" on tha hook sounds REAL nice! Luv how she says tha title, and does tha Keri Hilson hook! Regardless of tha great hook, it came out ta 50/50ish wit me... My Rating: 3.0

17. "Wanna Be Down"
>>> I didn't have a preview, but this beat start sounds good. Not really into tha hook. More female music, so, less exciting wit tha ratings. LOL @ tha "be a rida like Flo" part... lol... No comment on tha 1st verse. No comment on tha 2nd verse too. What's wit tha "Baby Got Back" type of talkin' at tha end wit tha "Becky" and shit? My Rating: 2.6

18. "Shawty Really Luv It"
ANOTHA female song?!??? >>> Sounds like a remade "Top Back" beat... Decent hook here, but too much catering wit all these songs. LOL, a repeated hook too soon? It took 59 seconds for tha 1st verse ta start... Tha 1st verse reminded me of "Ask Dem Hoes" for tha start. Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil' like OJ Da Juiceman for a start? No comment on what was goin' on. LOL, a 3rd verse? Back to that "Ask Dem Hoes" flow, so that's a somewhat plus. My Rating: 3.3

19. "Ready 4 Me"
Could be ANOTHA one??? >>> I like to think of tha title as tha streetz "ready 4 you" wit this shit. Good hook, good beat start so far; let's see what you gon do wit tha verse... "Born on April 22," so that's a plus for tellin' your birthday. I'm a fool wit rememberin' peoples' birthdayz! Pretty good verse. I thought this short, under 2:20 length was good enough. My Rating: 3.6

20. DJ Infamous Outro
LOL @ only 15 seconds... >>> I don't know about "classic mixtape" 'cause it was only okay for me. My Rating: N/A

Overall: Could've finished it about 15 minutes shorter, but my boy Hannibal hit me back, so I chatted wit him. Anyway, decent. Nothin' really exciting on this mixtape 'cept tha "Ask Dem" song I know, as well as maybe 1-3/4 othas. Too borderline of a Georgia vs. Louisiana style here. Not really any Louisiana feel in it.
