Review #1,015: Lil' J 225 "The Transporter (Part 2)"

Reviewed on 6.30.2011 (Review #1,015)

My 2nd review for today iz Lil’ J 225 “The Transporter (Part 2), now wit Hello Halo Records/Pablo Jones Entertainment. Start Time: 10:17 AM | End Time: 10:36 AM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. The Connect
Anotha short intro, here… >>> SMH @ Spanish; Reggaeton died a long time ago… My Rating: N/A

02. “Intro”
>>> At least this ain’t a shitty beat choice. But, it ain’t tha same version I had in tha ‘07/’08 dayz… Seems like you know how ta handle tha “intro” tracks; not bad/betta than usual wit tha rhymes, at times. My Rating: 3.8

03. “Right Above It”
>>> How about rofl? Startin’ a song off wit tha “bitches” already? This really ain’t like tha wackness from tha previous CD. LOL @ tha “tooley on deck;” I still don’t get tha obsession. Really, don’t get inta drama wit people; I dunno why people don’t learn? :confused LOL, tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ pretty cocky? My Rating: 3.0

04. “225”
>>> LOL, this sounds hilarious; I can fuck wit this wit whoeva sayin’, “2…2…5” on tha hook’s sample! Hope ta hear some “225”-type rhymes… Sounds good; hope this iz an original production—it has ta be ‘cause what mainstream song has “225” in it? Good rhymes throughout this, doin’ tha damn thang! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Big Money”
Not anotha “money” song? >>> “I got 30 people wit me;” how you do dat? Really, how? Iz it hard? I think gettin’ one iz real rough but “30”? I thought I would dislike this but it seems like tha vibe of this CD ain’t pissin’ me off or makin’ me yawn… “Spend money all fuckin’ night;” if so, when you doin’ services wit me? I do so many things but all you do iz fail to call me back, or randomly come outta nowhere afta months fa a quick second. Hopefully, now dat it’s 2011, and dat I’m smarter, you’ll fuck wit me on some real, serious-ass shit! My Rating: 3.4

06. “No Hook”
>>> These beats are soundin’ catchy, whateva they are; no piss-offness, here! Rhymes are good, here, but I don’t get this “no hook” shit; didn’t I hear that kinda excuse about tha “hook” once before? Rhymes ain’t too bad and tha actual “hook”’s catchy. My Rating: 3.8

07. “Break My Bank”
>>> Boo @ tha original version in this! :td I heavily deduct when an original version’s in a freestyle version. My Rating: 1.4

08. “For The Money”
>>> Sounds like a gurl moanin’ in tha beginning; interestin’? Although both a combination of “money” and “bitches,” this ain’t too bad for a combination. Lookin’ forward to you spendin’ buku “money” on me, soon! I think that’s what’s missin’ in tha 225: buku people spendin’ “money” on me. My Rating: 3.2

09. The Set Up
>>> Ooh, good dialect; likin’ this skit! My Rating: N/A

½time: A 3.3-rated CD, currently; looks like this one’s betta.

10. “Money To Blow”
>>> Sounds like a poor beat choice; hope we don’t “blow” it, now! Tha hook sounds catchy; I can fuck wit it. Not crazy about tha content, here; tha previous song sounded betta… My Rating: 3.1

11. “Thug Lovin’”
>>> A lil’ soft fa me; rather hear tha previous two songs, since they were betta for me. This ain’t too bad, overall, though; seems like you can make some catchy hooks wit your voice. My Rating: 2.8

12. “Bottoms Up”
>>> Oh no, here we go wit tha big-ass yawns; how did this song go Pop? Thought it would be too Urban? SMH @ tha original version in this; why didn’t DatPiff remove this but they removed just tha “I’m Single”? SMH @ tha Nicki Minaj part, too; boo @ this and its length of four minutes, almost! My Rating: 1.1

13. “Deuces (Pt. 1)”
I should fake a moan! >>> “Moan, moan! Moan, moan, moan!” LOL @ tha short length, thank God! This ain’t too bad wit tha rappin’; you’re to tha point, here. My Rating: 2.9

14. “Deuces (Pt. 2)”
Damn, so fast? >>> Interestin’ dat you have a “Pt. 2” wit a different vibe (this one’s for tha fakers)! I rather this be a minute long, not no 3.5 minutes! I have ta deduct ‘cause of this long length, which could get boring at times… My Rating: 2.7

15. “Loyalty”
Where tha hell did tha “I” come from in tha title? :confused >>> SMH @ tha original hook; why iz this mixtape goin’ downhill? Barely decent for me… My Rating: 1.2

16. “Lay It Down” Feat. Lloyd
>>> Yea, right; glad DatPiff removed! They should’ve removed tha others dat had samples! I only heard you in tha background. My Rating: 1.0

17. “Missing You”
>>> Yawn… A lil’ betta than tha previous song wit tha content, ironically, but what’s up wit these sample songs? My Rating: 1.5

18. “Love 4 Me”
>>> “Last song on tha mixtape;” R.I.P. to albums, sadly! :cry I miss tha dayz when people put out albums, consistin’ of tight tracks, no jacked beats, no A-Tune, and no bullshit! For a slow song, this ain’t too bad… I’m feelin’ tha rhymes, here; they ain’t too cocky or anything and are official wit tha way tha content sounds. Tha hook’s pretty catchy, too; I do have “love 4” err-body in tha 225, minus tha idiots, ya dig? My Rating: 3.3

Overall: I feel like this mixtape was betta than tha previous one, except when there was a bunch of shitty songs durin’ tha 2nd ½…
