Review #978: C-Loc Presents Concentration Camp "Camp I: Concentration Camp"

Reviewed on 6.08.2011 (Review #978)

Got my 1st review for today: C-Loc Presents Concentration Camp “Camp I: Concentration Camp, lol! Start Time: 9:19 AM | End Time: 9:53 AM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Fair Exchange Ain’t No Robbery”
Looks like a really tight title!! >>> Good shit, here, especially tha shit about tha “white folks.” I remember I told you dat a random “white folk” tried ta sign wit you or some shit and it was a complete fairytale; glad you clear shit up, Loc! Good rhymes; definite A+ shit you spittin’, here, ova dis gutta-ass beat!!! Just you on this joint, doin’ tha damn thang; really likin’ all tha panic sounds, lol! This iz definitely some crazy shit, includin’ tha real-great title!! My Rating: 4.9

02. “Doing What It Takes” Feat. 2XL
Ooh, a feature; let’s hear dis… >>> LOL, I like tha “New Orleans” (odd-soundin’ gurl); those vocals are kick-ass, especially when they say, “bag of weed!!” Early version of Auto-Tune dat actually was good!! Good rhymes and a good topic about tryna “get paid!” My Rating: 4.6

03. “A Fool” (Young Bleed)
Yes, a feature!! >>> Heard this music play somewhere; I guess this proves how classic it iz! LOL, this iz dat “Who Dat” joint? Didn’t realize it was called this; I knew Bleed was on this but thought he was a part of tha ’97 Camp, lol. Anyway, he sounds tight on tha mic; good shit he got goin’ on, here, wit his consistency! LOL, a Young Bleed-only version? That iz equivalent to a buffet, already, lol; I feel filled up!! LOL, some “how ya do dat there” shit in tha end; I know what dat iz! LOL, I’m gettin’ really confused; maybe this ain’t “Who Dat”, lol? This iz tha “How You Do That” Bleed joint. My Rating: 4.7

04. “Who Dat”
LOL, now, here we go… >>> Yup; got tha previous song confused, lol. Really feelin’ tha gutta, funky sounds in tha beat wit tha good hook and crazy-azz Loc! Nothin’ but more rhymes from you, Loc, as well as keepin’ this hot sound consistent to tha bone!! My Rating: 4.6

05. “Ward Tyme Stories” (G-Dog)
Anotha collab, yes!! >>> Sounds a lil’ cliché in tha beginning wit tha “once upon a time” but you already know dat this shit goes off!! G-Dog sounds good, “West Coast” style, when it comes ta showin’ luv to tha Boot! I like tha “___ Ward Villains” callouts; lol, this whole song’s G-Dog, lol? Holdin’ it down without Loc may seem hard but he did a nice job, here, comin’ through wit all tha rhymes ta offer within his perspective! My Rating: 4.3

06. “And I’m Knowing” (Queen)
Who’s this Queen? >>> Sounds good wit this laidback, ‘90s-soundin’ beat. LOL, she’s goin’ from singin’ to rappin’, which sounds good; glad we got anotha female! LOL, I had a feelin’ she was gonna hold this whole entire joint down, lol! My Rating: 4.0

07. “Life’s A Bitch” (Lee Tyme)
I wonder how good this’ll be, Loc or no Loc. >>> I’m really likin’ tha G-Funk beat dat goes up ‘n’ down in tha beginning; anticipatin’ me…!! Ooh, here’s Lee on tha mic, comin’ through wit his perspective “in this game of life;” thumbs up! I like how it’s just tha beat on tha hook; you already know dat I’m down fa dis beat!! LOL, no Loc, again; Concentration Camp-representations to tha fullest!! Great content between tha darkness theme and tha struggle!! My Rating: 4.5

08. Upcoming Releases
Lookin’ forward… >>> Even though they’ve been out, I’m really lookin’ forward ta reviewin’ ‘em, since they actually are “upcoming (Marathon) releases” fa me, ya dig? My Rating: N/A

½time: Really comin’ through wit tha heat, Loc; how many five-star-rated albums you got certified by me, now? This one looks like it’s on its way; 4.5 for tha CD rating, currently!!!!

09. “Mama Told Me”
LOL, finally returnin’ to you, Loc? >>> Sounds like a preacher lady in tha beginning, tellin’ it like iz! Anyway, here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit some tight-ass shit fa “Baton Rouge, Louisiana;” sooooo glad ta have you back on tha mic!! LOL, tha “fulla dat alcohol” part sounds familiar; I think I might’ve played this on my radio show where my rappin’ grandma came in? I remember her dancin’ but I don’t remember this title? Maybe it’s a recycled line, lol? Either way, nice job wit tha hook; you definitely got all shit on lock, here, ya feel me?! My Rating: 4.8

10. “Where You From” (Full Pack)
Let’s see how tha Full Pack gon hold it down! >>> Sounds like a simple representation on tha hook, ova a hot, G-Funk-soundin’ beat! Ooh, I’m likin’ how tha 1st verse emerged; “it’s about” instantly deliverin’ rhymes as well as what y’all “deliverin’!” Nice clique, here; tha 2nd verse iz tight wit tha descriptive, street rhymes! Tha 3rd dude on tha 3rd verse sounds tight wit tha consistentness; crazy-ass rhymes, here!! Really feelin’ as much as this dude can deliver, in a quality, quick, Q-word-type perspective, lol!! Tha 4th verse sounds aight wit tha dances; at least it’s an instant callout ta get up and do shit, lol! My Rating: 4.7

11. “Shreveport Blues” (Dolla)
Who’s this Dolla? Tha other Dolla would’ve been, like, nine or 10 years-old if this was tha one dat died 5.18.2009. >>> This sounds hot fa a “Shreveport” representation! Really feelin’ tha gangsta-related rhymes; really holdin’ it down fa C-Loc Records and all dat!! Ooh, there’s a gurl on tha hook, deliverin’ some nice-ass “Shreveport Blues”; funny how she’s mysterious!! Damn, this song’s almost six minutes long but Dolla’s holdin’ down tha whole thang!! No boring rhymes; all about what’s good wit him!! My Rating: 4.6

12. “Southern Roulette” (G-Dog)
Anotha G-Dog song? Let’s see what we got, here. >>> Sounds a lil’ slower but I can fuck wit it… A nice, slow vibe fa tha ’97 dat sounds like a good, slow, West Coast-soundin’ song; good rhymes, too, G-Dog. LOL, tha hook sounds tight wit this male singer, now, lol; guess this iz tha whole Louisiana Blues, lol? Kinda long, once again, but I thought Dolla held it down in a betta way. But, good shit… My Rating: 4.2

13. “Deadly Sins” Feat. D-Click
Looks familiar, fa some reason…; I’m really lookin’ forward ta hearin’ somethin’ like dis, though!! >>> Yea, this iz tha vibe I’m lookin’ for; nice and slow wit dat gangsta, gutta, G-Funk style (lol, tha G’s)! Nothin’ but real shit, here; tha rhymes are off tha hook and are no gimmick!! Ooh, it’s you on tha 2nd verse, Loc; glad it’s a feature, now! You definitely holdin’ it down to tha fullest, here!! Tha hook sounds serious; hope y’all ain’t dead!! I know Loc iz alive ‘cause I talked ta him not even a year ago; good collaboration, guys! My Rating: 4.6

14. “Bloody Murder” (Joker P & DJ Chill)
Looks like a crazy collaboration; new joint fa me? >>> This iz an unknown song fa me and sounds tight as hell!! These artists were brought up in that same “signin’” fairytale when it comes ta tryna get my attention. It’s like, does Joker P & DJ Chill know a random dude years under their age? Good-ass rhymes, especially this catchy hook wit tha way it’s delivered; “bloody murder, bloody murder!!!” Tha 2nd verse sounds like it’s on some tight-ass shit; good job, bruhs! Joker P & DJ Chill have always been on some consistent-ass shit and I hope they continue ta do so!! My Rating: 4.7

15. “Dare Devil” Feat. Lay-Lo
Ooh, time fa tha debut—I believe—of Lay-Lo (Max Minelli & J-Von)!! Tight title, too!! >>> Sounds like a hot beat fa Lay-Lo as well as J-Von doin’ tha damn thang on tha 1st verse!! I really like tha whole “cop” theme in tha 1st verse; buildin’ paranoid up!! “On a mission gettin’ blunted;” such tight-ass shit, here, especially “bumpin’ C-Loc!!” Damn, Lay-Lo doesn’t give up!!! Crazy shit dat just continues and continues and continues and continues and continues!!! Ooh, 2:43 sounds like a young, Max Minelli, lol!! LOL, didn’t realize how gangsta he was; this iz dat shit, here!! Really official when it comes ta dat tight shit fa tha real G’s!!! My Rating: 4.8

16. “Everyday Thang” (Leah Man & Fired)
Interestin’ lineup; how we gon end this? >>> Smooth start wit a gurl… Whoa, where’s this dude comin’ from on tha 1st verse?!?!? Crazy-ass shit!!! C-Loc, you really ‘bout showin’ luv ta buku people wit quality!!! Tha hook’s tight, too; gotta luv this drug/hood-related content!!! Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ more calm but tha attitude iz here and tha good rhymes are only progressin’!! Ooh, tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse iz startin’ ta sound like a crazy Mystikal, at times!!! Tha 3rd verse iz also tight, too; damn, this shit doesn’t end!!! It’s so great wit tha rhymes; only tha real G’s and real Rap luvaz can handle dis!!!!! My Rating: 4.9

Overall: Of course, this shit was definitely off tha hook!! Anotha addition to tha C-Loc, five-star albums collection!!! Only you and Opelousas’s K-Chill have tha most five-star albums; y’all on a mission!!! Keep up tha great work; you know what it iz!! I gotta interview you for my radio show and show these people dat I actually got a connection wit you, Loc!
