Review #1,509: Dman "Boomayey"

Reviewed on 7.11.2016 (Review #1,509)

Let’s get anotha one of these outta my way… Anotha release from Dman, outta Vinton, LA, Boomayey. Hope this one ain’t fulla jacked beats like tha last release… Start Time: 2:31 PM | End Time: 3:14 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “The Difference”
>>> Tha beat pretty nice, here, fa some random undaground shit… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it ain’t that bad; so far, it’s aight… I’m diggin’ this hook, here, with this “different” perspective. Tha 2nd verse straight; not bad… My Rating: 3.6

02. “Effortless”
YB on this? I know tha ID says, “Hosted by YB (Street Anthem-Video)”; did this come straight from YouTube or somethin’? >>> Definitely a real-soundin’ beat fa me, here, compared ta tha rest of tha tracks I heard from you… Definitely on a Louisiana level, here, with tha sound! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds nice and good fa your typical hood, from tha 225 to tha Vinton! “My dick big like a tree branch;” that’s a new comparison, lol! No hook, just chatter? So, this you on tha 2nd verse? Must not be tha YB I know, with Forever Young Entertainment (F.Y.N.I.C.)? Anyway, a good-soundin’ song, here… My Rating: 3.9

03. “Solo” feat. Blackcard ATM
>>> Beat’s a lil’ dry; tha 1st verse’s okay. Tha hook’s kinda weird fa me wit tha auto-tune… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ like a lot more effort than tha 1st verse; nice, fast rhymes! My Rating: 3.1

04. “Like I’m Jason” feat. Louie Lio
>>> Yeah, this soundin’ too much like a mainstream attempt, here; not diggin’ all these song quotes (“Bandz A Make Her Dance”, “Type Of Way”). However, I’m diggin’ tha beat wit tha hook; G-Funk meets tha club! Tha 2nd verse got dat kinda energy I like… Diggin’ tha line, “It’s up there! It’s up there;” dumb shit! Here comes Louie Lio on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit an okay verse fa this song; celebrity-like rhymes, here… My Rating: 3.8

05. “Big Dawg (Remix)” (Mychal Reins feat. Kush Kidd, Don Ron, Melo, Dre Sonnier, Dman, Nova Kaine, So Suede & A)
I’ono, but tha filename cut off after So Suede, so I’ono who tha “A” person iz… But, what a lineup! >>> Nice start wit a T-Lo sample in tha beginning? Him or Choppa; sounds anticipatin’… Tha 1st part of tha 1st verse’s soundin’ nice; a trip down “Louisiana.” I’m hopin’ for a trip sometime next year; let’s see if it happens! Tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse from this 2nd dude’s soundin’ aight; he got tha flow on lock wit dis shit… Tha 3rd part of tha 1st verse, here; sounds like a heavy-set dude doin’ tha damn thang, in a laidback perspective? Nice… Tha 1st part of tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ like consistent rhymes; diggin’ it, a lil’… Tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse’s nice wit these consistent, faster-soundin’ rhymes… Nova Kaine on tha 3rd part of tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit a ‘90s-like flickaty-flickaty-flow! Nice job! Dude that on tha 1st part of tha 3rd verse real fast wit it; nice shit! Dman, you’re on tha 2nd part of tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit encounterin’ tha “models” and shit; nice… And, we got tha 3rd part of tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ like a tribute ta some of those that have fallen… I thought everyone did a nice job on this! My Rating: 4.2

06. “Love To Stunt” (K. Loyd feat. Lil’ Cali, Dman & YB)
Lil’ Cali on tha feature, as well as YB!! >>> Beat sounds nice fa tha streets, here… Hearin’ tha hook and, yeah, it iz what it iz, with this “money” shit… Here’s Cali on tha 1st verse, “Everyday [his] birthday;” so, it’s August 30, err-day? Gotta be!! Dude official wit it, especially wit those “diamonds in [his] mouth!” Sounds like K. Loyd or someone on tha 2nd verse? Decent, feelin’ good-soundin’ verse… And, tha 3rd verse… Ehh, kinda losin’ interest ‘cause I keep thinkin’ YB on this, since he in this ID, too… I’ono, this verse blah-blah-blah… My Rating: 3.7

07. “Conceited”
>>> Beat kinda nice, here; tha hook sounds catchy… This title’s so perfect fa dat “conceited” bitch I deal with at my job, who no one likes! She gives me sooooo much anxiety!! Here comes tha 1st verse with you comin’ through wit some decent shit… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here; kinda long fa a song, though? Like, 4:43? Really? Bleh, a 1:19-length beat outro? No wonder why it’s long… My Rating: 3.7

½time: So far, not too bad, here; kinda catchy, with some nice features, here and there… You got a 3.7 fa tha CD rating, so far; let’s continue dis!

08. “Oooohh Kill ‘Em” feat. Niquon
Meek Mill talk??? >>> Snap-soundin’ beat? Sounds like somethin’ Soulja Boy Tell’em would rap on… Kinda likin’ it, at times, but at tha same time, it’s givin’ me a typical, mainstream-soundin’ feelin’… Tha 2nd verse not bad, here; just a regular-soundin’ song, here, that’s tryna be too catchy… Niquon on tha 3rd verse, here, and just by hearin’ him, he sounds better on tha voice than you on this one… Overall, a decent song that tried to be too catchy, lol. My Rating: 3.5

09. “Fallin’” (Mychal Reins & Dman)
>>> A bounce-soundin’ track; let’s see how this does on my review! Nice, jammin’ track and okay rhymes on tha 1st verse, here; gotta dig it! Tha 2nd verse sounds good fa a jammin’ track… Here comes tha 3rd verse, again soundin’ decent… My Rating: 3.7

10. “In Louisiana” (Mob (DeeGarrick, Mychal Reins & Dman))
>>> Diggin’ tha beat sounds, at times, especially this Foxx sample on tha hook! Too bad it’s just a clean version, but tha shit’s official! Tha 1st verse ain’t too bad, here; an okay-soundin’ verse… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ a lil’ betta; catchy rhymes goin’ on toward tha end of each line… Shout out ta Foxx ‘cause I believe this gon be my favorite joint off this CD!! A “jiggalaters” shout out on tha 3rd verse, here; diggin’ it, even wit tha Juvenile-sampled flow from “Back That Ass Up”! My Rating: 4.3

11. “Out My Mind (Remix)” feat. The Devin Donron
>>> Really? Cam’ron & Juelz Santana “Oh Boy”-sampled beginning, here…? Either way, definitely nice ta have a jiggalatin’-soundin’ track, here! Nice job wit tha hook and how this beat holdin’ you down… Tha 1st verse’s pretty nice; it’s all about tha partyin’! Got tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit some good shit ta club to… A delay after tha 3rd hook… Now, a 3rd verse… This sounds like a decent collab; it’s all about tha partyin’, once again! My Rating: 3.8

12. “Pimpin’ A Nigga” feat. Rolls Royce Ron
I remember dis one… My Current Rating: 2.5

13. “Cutt Up”
>>> Beat and hook sounds pretty catchy; diggin’ this club banga more than tha “Out My Mind (Remix)”! You doin’ a nice job wit tha 1st verse, here, strictly fa dem Internet club headz… Tha 2nd verse soundin’ nice, too; can’t deny how you comin’ through, here… And, you got it goin’ on wit tha 3rd verse, too; good job wit tha Internet club banga! My Rating: 4.0

14. “Talk To Me”
>>> Likin’ this beat start but I’m bein’ turned off by those background vocals! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds okay wit tha rhymes… Hook’s only decent; annoying-as-fuck background vocals!! I just gon skim through this ‘cause of dat… Ehh, an okay track, but tha background vocals hurts tha rating… My Rating: 2.3

15. “Instagram Party” (Bumma feat. Don Ron, Nick Moss, Lil’ Louisiana, Lambeaux, Dman, So Suede & Thug RNB)
My Current Rating: 3.8

Overall: Slightly betta than tha previous release I reviewed from you… Your music’s mostly on tha decent tip fa me. I’m diggin’ some of your tracks more with tha production, at times. Then, sometimes, it’s tha rhymin’. Then, sometimes, it’s a lil’ of both, while one part’s just decent… Still, keep grindin’!
