Review #1,919: Zero Ward Villains "Zero Ward Villains"

Reviewed on 12.28.2019 (Review #1,919)

My final review of tha ‘90s in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon! Next up, tha year 2000! First, it’s Zero Ward Villains Zero Ward Villains, released in 1999 on Mad Dog Records & was produced by E! Start Time: 11:20 PM | End Time: 11:39 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Ward Call”
>>> Diggin’ tha bounce vibe & this hook official! “Ward call, y’all;” lol @ tha “y’all” part! Glad “y’all” real passionate about dis!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds pretty gutta wit tha lyrics, despite this soundin’ like it for a party…! Hearin’ tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse & it sounds good; nice contribution… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds nice, especially wit tha line, “I got tha ketchup fa ya fuckin’ po’k chops;” deep……………, lmao!! Got tha 3rd verse, here & it sounds like a regular-soundin’ verse; I feel it… Even tha outro has catchiness (“Zero Ward Villains”); luvin’ that voice wit tha “ward call, y’all” voice! My Rating: 4.5

02. “Game Recognize Game”
>>> Sounds like a regular-soundin’ street beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad, here… Sounds good on tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse, especially that hummin’ hidden in tha background of tha beginning of it! What hidden catchiness, lol! Iz that a hook? Either way, hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds like I hear that hummin’, at times, again…! This sounds like an okay verse, either way… Got tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it’s soundin’ decent; not bad, overall… Ooh, ‘notha hidden surprise, on tha outro! Y’all say, “Game…,” on tha hummin’, lol! My Rating: 3.7

½time: Nice two tracks, so far; a 4.1-rated release, currently…! Really likin’ tha hidden surprises!

03. “True Outlaws”
>>> Sounds like an okay track, here, as far as tha hook & 1st verse’s goin’… Got tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse goin’ on, here & it’s str8; nothin’ special, tho… Hearin’ tha 3rd part of tha 1st verse & it sounds okay; where’s tha hook? Hearin’ tha 4th part of tha 1st verse & this sounds like ‘80s rap or somethin’… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it aight; nothin’ much ta say… My Rating: 3.4

04. “This Is For The Haters”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ soulful hook, as far as tha male voice goes, on tha beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds okay; not bad wit this rappin’… Hope fa 6:00 that this track don’t get boring fast… Got tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse goin’ on, here & it okay; not too much interest from me, tho… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds like some good rhymes fa tha streetz, here; I’ll give it some props… Hearin’ tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse, here & it str8; I digz it… Some singin’ ta end dis off…; not bad ta add… My Rating: 3.8

05. “Ward Call (Radio Version)”
See #1 fa tha review…

Overall: Kinda went downhill, a lil’, due to long verses. Either way, nice contribution ta tha Louisiana rap scene…!
