Review #1,434: Percy Keith "Crazy On Tha Outside"

Reviewed on 2.11.2015 (Review #1,434)

Got anotha review I gotta do… Really don’t wanna be doin’ these, especially if tha artists don’t even send me ‘em right away, but I gotta prove a point, since I’m a Shift Leader! This iz Percy Keith Crazy On Tha Outside, sponsored by Bread Winners Association. Like I just said, this came out months ago and I wasn’t even sent it right away; I had to find it myself. That makes me feel like I have no value, especially since these artists know about me! Not only that, I have a record label behind me now and they want new music, not shit that doesn’t get sent to me, smh! What a way to miss an article! But yeah, lemme get this ova with so I can go to sleep and, in your perspective, get “back to tha money,” instead of just sittin’ in a room, doin’ reviewz! Start Time: 8:47 PM | End Time: 9:38 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Intro”
Produced by Guss… >>> An awkward sample start… I guess you claimed it right: “This iz how your intro’s supposed to go.” I agree ‘cause yeah, it should be a straight-through verse with one hook (if so) and a nice beat to go with your great rhymes. With that bein’ said, nice job, here… Even got a 2nd verse and it sounds nice with tha consistent rhymes for tha streetz. My Rating: 4.2

02. “Memoirs Of A Soulja”
Ryan Metcalf on tha beat… >>> Sounds like a nice way ta start tha track off with this beat! However, because B-Real blocked me from online, I can’t add any songs from Louisiana’s underground to my iPod, until I’m unblocked! It sux ‘cause I got buku chicks at my job and I can’t tell ‘em about what I be reviewin’ and shit; doesn’t that suck? Anyway, beat’s kinda plain after tha nice start, though I’m likin’ how you comin’ through on tha hook as a “soulja.” However, if you claim you’re a “soulja,” wouldn’t you retweet, respond and follow me, not unfollow me, smh? Tha 1st verse sounds good, despite tha weak start with, “Rest in peace Lil’ Snupe, and free that nigga, Mista;” don’t stay too focused on those that have died, as well as tha overrated that are in jail. I mean, when my name gon be said in a song? I bet a million bucks you’ll neva shout me out, smh! Tha 2nd verse sounds okay; kinda braggin’, at times, though it’s okay on this beat, I guess? My Rating: 4.1

03. “Warzones” feat. Shy Glizzy
Monster Sounds on tha track, here… >>> Back to tha interesting beat starts, once again; diggin’ tha fastness! And, it progressed to stay consistent on tha nice sound during tha hook; nice! And, great hook from Glizzy, providin’ extra catchiness! Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds good to hear. Again, you sound like you’re braggin’ about random shit, once again; rhymes off tha dome and not written? And, at tha end of tha 1st verse, you talkin’ about tha “fake” shouldn’t live, or somethin’; shouldn’t you be followin’ me on Twitter? Like, why you gotta play games wit me, for no reason? Not only that, you’re older than me and you’re playin’ games, smh?!? Ain’t that fa pre-teenagers?! Off tha subject, Glizzy on tha 2nd verse and it sounds pretty good; sounds betta than you… I’m diggin’ his catchy voice and catchy flow fa this! Argh! Wish I could play this on my iPod or somethin’; why can’t one person get B-Real to unblock me and reconnect wit me on tha phone; whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!? My Rating: 4.4

04. “Hold A Grudge” feat. Hey Daem
No production credits? Must be a jacked beat? >>> Well, tha beat you’re rappin’ on sounds good ta rap on, and you’re doin’ a nice job on tha hook; catchy title part… Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ good; can’t complain… And, tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here, as well… Tha voices alternatin’ sound nice to hear, too. I dunno about recyclin’ tha “loyalty” line from tha previous CD you dropped… My Rating: 4.0

05. “100it”
Interesting title, produced by Tragic… >>> Likin’ how you have a unique voice ta start this track off … “I smell like a fuckin’ tree;” gotta luv when people be smellin’ “like a fuckin’ tree!” Tha 1st verse sounds pretty good ova this slow, dark, cold-soundin’ beat; nice! Tha hook’s catchy, too, keepin’ it “100,” or are you? Get ta re-followin’ me now! Um, kinda contradicting? “100 ain’t just sayin’, ‘What up?’” Well, why’d you unfollow me, then? That ain’t keepin’ it “100” at all!! Same thing wit ignoring me! That causes a no call, no show and a chance to get fired at my job if you ignore! Take notes! With that bein’ said, tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good, too… My Rating: 4.2

06. “Lose Control” feat. Kevin Gates
Produced by Izze the Producer… >>> A dry beat start with some catchy bells… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds okay… Gates on tha hook, here; great flow, though kinda boring on tha lyrics… And, here he iz on tha 2nd verse with a “chocolate Easter bunny,” or somethin’. I luv how niggaz now get to see snow on tha ground ‘cause of Gates. It’s like, really? Y’all Louisiana niggaz saw snow from me, first! Gates was in jail and only in Louisiana back when I was connected wit err-body, postin’ all my snow updates! Take notes, people! Anyway, decent, short verse… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse from tha both of y’all; nice, but I thought y’all were homophobic? How are two men alternatin’ and conversin’ between tha 3rd verse? Don’t you think that’s homo, since y’all don’t like relyin’ a message to B-Real about unblockin’ me? Make sense! My Rating: 4.1

07. “Shoot 1st, Die Last” feat. Shy Glizzy & Blvd. Mel
EQ on tha beat; what to expect… >>> Sounds just like tha otha Shy Glizzy collab with tha beat start; same track? Nope, different; just checkin’… Nice beat start, though tha idea was jacked from tha previous Shy Glizzy collab. I liked that hook betta, but this iz pretty nice, too… Hearin’ Mr. Glizzy on tha 1st verse, here, and it sounds pretty good; how he, “Be wit Baton Rouges?” Thought he’s too ‘big’ (or, “awwsome”) fa y’all to get in touch wit? Makes me feel shitty, to where I’ll have no value, whatsoever, in this music business! Fuckin’ 26 years-old and I gotta still play fuckin’ phone games wit tryna get a hold of rappers, smh! Whateva! Nice job on tha 1st verse, Glizzy, tha golden secret to tha tracks! We got tha 2nd verse, here, from this Blvd. Mel, and it’s on some gangsta shit, here, wit Baton Rouge in tha sound; nice… And, here you are on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit nice rhymes… Sounds a lil’ consistent, though I felt more rewarded when I heard more of Shy Glizzy on tha previous collab wit him! My Rating: 4.3

½time: So far, it looks like this CD’s goin’ over pretty well; consistent tracks… Definitely diggin’ all tha production, as well as tha collabs! Shy Glizzy seems to be tha best surprise on this CD, especially twice! Not sure how that collab happened, but it’s great that you got him on your CD! Wonder if he knows about me? Currently, you’re at a 4.2 for tha CD rating…

08. “I Got You” feat. Hey Daem
Jarron Cortez on tha beat. >>> All right, first fail, here; definitely a shitty-soundin’ hook from Daem and that gay-soundin’ voice, smh! Tha previous collab wit him was way better! Tha 1st verse’s ehh, okay, as well… Tha 2nd verse’s okay; a lil’ boring with tha content, though. I mean, aren’t I ‘posed to be more important than bitches and shit? Neva will they learn… My Rating: 2.1

09. “Killa”
Izze the Producer producin’ anotha one… >>> I recognize tha producer, now (Rich Homie Quan’s “Blah Blah Blah”); aren’t you too undaground ta get a hold of these producers? Don’t you need a lotta money or somethin’? Anyway, it sounds pretty nice and consistent on tha hook, here, between tha beat and how you sound; g-shit… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds nice ta hear on this beat; consistent rhymes… And, tha 2nd verse’s nice to hear, as well… “Listening to Gunplay;” you know that he took my priorities away from Louisiana, as well? I realized how awesome he was, to where I had him help me go through Louisiana withdrawal, for a lil’ bit… It was ironic that you brought him up ‘cause he kinda spoiled it fa y’all, in a way! “Niggaz deletin’ niggaz;” even more ironic?! My Rating: 4.3

10. “Highway” feat. Kevin Gates
Deli slicin’ up tha track… >>> Pretty nice for tha intro; really likin’ how this sounds, on tha beat! Nice quiet sound wit tha beat on tha hook, though more alternatin’ between you & Gates? Can I get y’all a room together? I’m only sayin’ that ‘cause y’all homophobic… Anyway, hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds pretty good ova this beat… Hearin’ Gates on tha 2nd verse, here, and it sounds decent; I’m diggin’ tha whole sound of tha track more, though… My Rating: 4.3

11. “Uptown New Orleans”
Ryan Metcalf doin’ anotha one fa you… >>> Beat sounds good, once again, and tha hook sounds good… Sometimes, your ‘other voice’ sounds like someone else, at times; I think it’s catchy… And, tha 1st verse sounds good to hear wit this catchy beat; nothin’ else to really say… Also, tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ catchy, too, between these two different types of voices… My Rating: 4.2

12. “Stories II”
Deli slicin’ up anotha one, though if I recall tha previous one, I might not anticipate this follow-up… >>> Well, this beat sounds better; tha last one, from what I recall, jacked tha old Rihanna “Unfaithful” beat, turnin’ me off… Hearin’ you start this off and it sounds much catchier; likin’ when you bring up a “story.” Nice beginning also with how, “In 2001, … I snorted cocaine;” interestin’… Tha 1st verse sounds nice, overall; nice “stories.” Thought there’d be only one verse, but there’s anotha one, and it’s soundin’ okay. Doesn’t really sound like “stories,” anymore; startin’ ta sound like braggin’ and random rappin’… My Rating: 3.8

13. “Who Do I Trust”
White Out doin’ tha track… >>> Sounds catchy, though it’s just a regular-soundin’ hook wit tha title… Ehh, tha 1st verse’s okay; it’s just a regular-soundin’ song fa me… It’s like, nothin’ special, but nothin’ terrible… Same thing wit tha 2nd verse, though this verse’s more boring fa me; too much braggin’… My Rating: 3.4

14. “Homicide Flow” feat. Dreco & Boobie Black
Can tell it’s a jacked beat, based off tha title and tha no producer listed on tha back cover… >>> Nice beat to spit on; nice start from you, as well, even though it’s just a regular-soundin’ hook, once again, wit how you repeatin’ shit… Here’s tha 1st verse from Dreco, soundin’ regular and typical wit these rhymes… Hmm, nothin’ striking; sounds like he tries to just fit in. I mean, not everyone needs to have a bitch, a gun, a kid, and lives in a city, smh… And, here’s tha 2nd verse from Boobie Black, comin’ through, reppin’ fa tha “BWA;” sounds good… Here you are on tha 3rd ver—why still quotin’ Meek and that “Levels” shit? Either way, an okay verse; it’s tolerable… My Rating: 3.7

Overall: I thought this was a nice review, but it prolly gon go in tha garbage. I don’t expect any kinda retweets, feedback, etc., since I’m no longer ‘hot,’ anymore—was I? Hope we get to connect one day, but for now, work on tryna figure out how to make me a priority…
