Review #1,830: B.G. "Chopper City In The Ghetto"

Reviewed on 10.16.2019 (Review #1,830)

Had to nap, due to gettin’ up a lil’ earlier today. I be workin’ tha night shift, now, so I sleep durin’ most of tha sunrise/early morning hours… Either way, I’m here & got my 3rd review fa today: B.G. Chopper City In The Ghetto, released in 1999 on Cash Money Records & Universal Records; OMG, “Bling Bling” gon get reviewed! Lol! Also, this entire album’s produced by Mannie Fresh! Start Time: 6:09 PM | End Time: 7:16 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro (Big Tymers)
>>> “I got my life together; I ain’t doin’ nothin’ but weed!” I wish, right nah, Fresh! Kinda am gettin’ “my life together” but tha only thang missin’ iz bein’ able ta shmoke “weed,” right nah! That’s all I need! I have tha motivation ta do these reviewz again, as well as gettin’ tha job situation situated, ya dig? “Blue and red rupees in tha street,” huh, Fresh? Ironic ‘cause I’m playin’ The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Randomizer, wit tha “blue and red rupees,” ya dig?! “Ice on [Baby’s] hoe’s toe nail,” huh, Baby, lol? My Rating: N/A

02. “Trigga Play”
>>> Sounds good wit tha hook and how you comin’ through wit it! Fresh got tha beat on lock! Diggin’ tha beat sound that sounds like a werewolf; totally inta this, right nah! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear, as well; glad you always been ‘bout da music…! Likin’ how you define yourself in tha 3rd person, as well… That’s how I be, lately, due to I need to boost my ego for my deservin’ reputation & what I’ve been goin’ through. Anybody that don’t really deserve ta get a hold of me, I tell ‘em “Frankie…;” gots to! Tha 3rd verse sounds good, as you keep this shit goin’; good shit, dawg…! My Rating: 4.3

03. “Cash Money Is An Army”
I know dis one… Finally givin’ it a review; here it goes! Hearin’ tha beat and it sounds cool wit tha bassline & shit… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s dat “Cash Money” shit, of course…! Hearin’ tha hook and, of course, all about tha “navy!” Tha 2nd verse keeps this shit goin’, of course; tha consistency of B.G., here! Maybe, we shoulda had that as an album title? Tha Consistency of B.G.? Tha 3rd verse’s keepin’ this goin’, as well; props fa bein’ consistent! My Current Rating: 4.2

04. “Play’n It Raw” feat. Hot Boy$
Like my boy outta Morganza, P.I.R.! >>> Diggin’ this beat and tha sounds; dope shit, Fresh! Tha sounds sound like somethin’ my autistic stoner rap sub-genre would be…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ nice, via a Hot Boy…; good shit, Turk! Juvie on tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse, depictin’ what tha streetz really be aimin’ at Juvie for; good shit! Lol, tha 3rd part of tha 1st verse and it’s Weezy! Gotta feel how tha teen comin’ through wit it! “I kick yo ass wit too many questions!” Hearin’ you on tha 4th part of tha 1st verse & it does sound a lil’ like how P.I.R. got inspired (“fasho,” one of his signature sayings)…; good shit! Finally, a hook & it sounds good wit Weezy & tha “chopper” background vocals…! Only one verse but four appearances on tha verse; I’ll still give it props fa tha good rhymes, tho… My Rating: 4.0

05. “With Tha B.G.” feat. Big Tymers
>>> Sounds good wit tha 1st verse and how you comin’ through wit it; nice beat, too… Tha hook sounds good, as “Cash Money” finna rule tha world, durin’ these times of ’99…! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ good, here…; I like how you refer to yourself as “Tha B.Geezy!” Got Baby on tha 1st ½ of tha 3rd verse, comin’ through, “hungry like some tigers;” good shit! Likin’ all his “e-z”-endin’ lines; dope shit! Last but not least, Fresh on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit his style; good shit! Tha 5-0-4 in tha buildin’…! “Head bussin’ iz a hobby…!” My Rating: 4.1

06. “Made Man” feat. Big Tymers
>>> Nice lil’ beat and tha dialect you bring to tha 1st verse, B. Gizzle; good shit! Tha hook sounds good, as you’re tha “man” that got tha success on lock, here; good shit! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and we got Baby, comin’ through wit his flow; good shit, too… Also, diggin’ tha 3rd person references of “Baby,” here…! Got tha 3rd verse from you, here, wit a “graveyard under [yo] belt;” dumb shit! Good shout outs to tha squad toward tha end, as well; “Made Man”-type shit! My Rating: 4.2

07. “Bling Bling” feat. Big Tymers & Hot Boy$
ROFL…! I be reviewin’ so much undaground music that it feels weird to see a mainstream song/universally-huge song ta appear! Of course, tha beat’s definitely poppin’ wit Fresh on it…! Baby on tha 1st ½ of tha verse, comin’ through, soundin’ like one of tha most-successful dudes, here! He had mo success later on but with tha coinin’ of tha “Bling Bling” term, that’s universal success, even after death!! Of course, Turk comin’ through on tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse wit dat coolness, as well; you know what it iz! Of course, Wayne holdin’ tha hook down; all about tha “Bling Bling!” I rememba my 1st bling: Christmas, 2002; felt great! I’m on a mission ta get some iced-out “bling,” comin’ up, when I get buku bagz…! Gon be of my dog logo; stay tuned (hopefully, within tha next two years)!! Wit that bein’ said, we got Fresh on tha 1st ½ of tha 2nd verse, holdin’ shit down, here…! Got Juvie on tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse, doin’ his thang, as well! What a way ta hold tha squad down! Err-body in Baton Rouge should take notes, like dis! Even down ta me advisin’ tha notes: We gots to be in this together!! Wit that bein’ said, we got you on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through like tha cool boy, struck by tons of “bling!” Great lil’ outro from Wayne, as well; blindin’ “ya,” here! My Current Rating: 4.5

08. “Knock Out” feat. Turk & Juvenile
>>> Anotha dope-soundin’ beat from Fresh, here…! Got tha 1st verse from Turk, comin’ through wit dat teen gangsta shit! Got Juvie on tha hook, soundin’ good wit tha storytellin’…! Got you on tha 2nd verse, B. Gizzle, soundin’ great, as always…! Different-soundin’ storytellin’ wit Juvie on tha 2nd hook, here, soundin’ dope, of course…! Tha 3rd verse iz here and it sounds like an alternatin’ verse, between you & Turk; good shit! Keep blingin’ on these boyz! “I don’t play, dawg; I got a resumé to prove it…” Of course, you gotta show dat “é” off, ya dig, lol? My Rating: 4.2

½time: Excellent-soundin’ CD! Was a fan of yours, startin’ wit tha final Saturday of 2002, when I first heard you as a solo artist (“Hottest Of The Hot (Clinton Sparks Remix)”). From there, I knew you had shit on lock! This CD’s dope, from start ta finish! Fresh on tha beats, you doin’ ya thang, tha Boy$ doin’ they thang & tha Tymers goin’ off, as well! A 4.2-rated CD, here; let’s keep it goin’…!

09. “Real Niggaz”
>>> Anotha nice beat, as we party/celebrate tha streetz, here! Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ nice; keep goin’, dawg…! Tha hook sounds pretty nice; always gotta keep it “real!” Who wants fake shit? Can’t believe people even wanna walk tha face of tha Earth as fake! They should automatically be dead…! Gotta be “real!!” Got tha 2nd verse, here & it sounds nice ta hear…! “I’ll take a life sentence for ‘em,” huh? I know you doin’ ya charge but ironic wit that line, tho. My one boy, up here, told me in 2016, “If we get in trouble, I’ll take tha charge.” Ironically, on March 5th of this year, I didn’t know he was wanted, so he wanted me to take him somewhere. Tha cops followed us & he took his charge; crazy! Wit dat bein’ said, we got tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice, as well; you know what it iz…! My Rating: 4.1

10. “Dog-Ass” feat. Juvenile
>>> Good lil’ Juvie verse on tha 1st verse, here; let’s keep it go—huh? A censored “gun” or somethin’ at :33? Why? Tha hook sounds nice, between tha both of y’all… Of course, gotta expose they dog-asses, here! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice wit you, here, stayin’ “ducked-off;” way ta be…! Got Juvie on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit his energy…, “na!” Got you on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit your “Dog-Ass,” as usual; good shit! My Rating: 4.3

11. “Cash Money Roll”
>>> A lil’ more laidback on tha beat but it still has a nice, upbeat vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ okay from you, here… Tha hook sounds a lil’ sappy; sounds like you sad wit tha flow, here? Kinda wish there was mo energy… Either way, keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some mo dry-soundin’ rhymes… Damn, this track’s 5:15? Too dry…! Needless ta say, here’s tha 3rd verse, as you showin’ off yo good shit…, in a dry way… A lil’ outro from Baby, here, outta nowhere; good shit, showin’ off… Just like tha dry perspective, it sounds like a draggin’-on outro… My Rating: 3.7

12. “Niggaz In Trouble” feat. Lil’ Wayne & Juvenile
>>> Got Weezy on tha 1st verse, here, soundin’ nice ova this beat! This beat has a bounce/“Triggaman” sample throughout it, so you know it’s dat fiya…! Tha hook sounds pretty nice, here; great job, between you & Juvie…! Got Juvie on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit some tight rhymes/energy; gotta luv it…! Got you on tha 3rd verse, here, strictly wearin’ “all black;” good shit! My Rating: 4.1

13. “Thug’n”
>>> Whoa @ tha hi-hats & beat sounds, Fresh!! Gotta luv this start; hope there’s plenty of energy! Definitely feelin’ this beat intro, as it progresses!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and you sound laidback, here but it sounds dope ta hear, of course…! Tha hook sounds pretty nice, too; gotta keep “Thug’n” to tha fullest, “thugged-out!” Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ pretty nice, here, as you continue ta represent fa tha streetz of tha 504! Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ pretty nice, as you continue ta hold this shit down…! All about tha big clothes and tha “pants saggin’;” real talk…! My Rating: 4.7

14. “Hard Times”
>>> Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ nice, here; likin’ that there’s energy in tha beat, Fresh… Tha hook sounds nice, here, as it blends wit tha verses, nicely; I’ll give it some props… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ like a good verse, once again… Tha 3rd verse keeps this shit goin’, as well; nice job wit tha rhymes/energy…! My Rating: 3.9

15. “Uptown My Home”
>>> Sounds like anotha good/decent track, between tha beat and how you’re comin’ through on tha 1st verse, here… Tha hook sounds good ta represent fa tha “uptown,” here; keep it goin’, keep it goin’…! Great gangsta shit comin’ out yo mouth on tha 2nd verse, here; good shit…! Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ nice ta hear, as well; good job, Gizzle…! “It’s me or you on my shirt…!” My Rating: 4.0

16. “‘Bout My Paper”
>>> Sounds good wit this beat and how you’re comin’ through on tha 1st verse, here; good shit, once again! Tha hook sounds good fa a money track; way before tha deadly times, at least (November 17, 2011)! Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ great fa an unexpected party vibe; “monkey” it up, Gizzle! That moment tha 3rd verse starts and you say, “Gotta grab it;” I grabbed tha ledge in Zelda, lol! Good-soundin’ verse, by tha way; keep it up! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Great CD fa Cash Money Records, here; you did ya thang, B. Gizzle! Of course, Fresh did a dope, consistent job wit tha production, as well as how you held down tha Cash Money shit, to tha fullest! Of course, you got tons more still in this marathon, so we gon see how you continue ta bring it, bruh…!
