Review #1,842: D.Fall "Let's Ride"

Reviewed on 10.19.2019 (Review #1,842)

Here comes anotha review: D.Fall Let’s Ride, released in 1999 on Broken Mic Entertainment! Don’t have a front cover ta this one, tho… Lafayette in tha buildin’ wit this one…! Start Time: 8:02 PM | End Time: 8:29 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Exposin’ ‘Em”
>>> Nice “exposin’,” here; hate when tha “fakers be so undercover!” Great hook and tha beat’s nice and southern, here…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ nice; good shit ta offer, here… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ dope; strictly southern, street shit, here! Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it’s tight; good shit…! My Rating: 4.2

02. “Real Niggas”
>>> It’s a shame when you “can’t get a job ‘cause of [your] contaminated piss;” jobs judge bad like dat! “Piss” should always be “contaminated,” ya dig? Good 1st verse, here, strictly keepin’ it “G”…! Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds like a cool lil’ hook. Almost sounds like somethin’ from tha north would release? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ good, once again… Speakin’ of NY, I almost thought I heard “shoot ‘em,” in tha background, as a sample. Big Noyd used dat fa his 2003 shit wit Mobb Deep, which was dope; NY throwbackness! Tha rest of this iz pretty nice; great job wit dis one…! My Rating: 4.1

03. “Wanna Be A Rapper”
>>> Defeatin’ tha stereotypes, here… Yeah, people like us are trapped in tha game. It’s like, once you in, you in; married to da game! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it okay; flow kinda dry/preachy-like & tha beat’s okay… Great info on one verse, describin’ what it’s like ta “be a rapper!” My Rating: 3.6

½time: A 4.0-rated release, so far; sounds good fa tha Ette!

04. “Trying To Be Me”
>>> Sounds like anotha smooth beat but a lil’ betta than tha previous one… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s okay; let’s see what tha verses offer… Got tha 1st verse goin’ on, here, soundin’ pretty nice, I guess… Tha 2nd verse sounds okay/good wit tha rhymes, here; all about tha late ‘90s… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and I’m diggin’ tha “D.Fall” answers to tha questions; definitely nice! However, I ask, “Who don’t have a front cover available? D.Fall!” Just statin’ facts… My Rating: 4.0

05. “I Don’t Know Why”
>>> Thought it woulda been a betta, mo-lyrical hook but it’s only okay… Hearin’ tha beat and it sounds a lil’ like a west vs. southern undaground sound, here; not bad… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it aight, here… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice; consistent rhymes, this time…! Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, here; good lil’ track, I guess… My Rating: 3.8

06. “Verbal Demonstration”
>>> Beat ain’t bad; nice lil’ southern shit, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice, here… Sounds good wit tha 1st verse, here; good job… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it aight, here; not too bad, overall… Got tha 3rd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; I’ll give it some props… My Rating: 3.7

07. “For The Real Ones”
>>> Sounds like an okay track, here; not bad wit tha 1st verse and dedication, here… Tha rest of this decent; not really that interested in this track… Beat not too bad and tha hook’s kinda ehh… My Rating: 3.5

Overall: Mainly good, somewhat decent; not much extra ta say, here…
