Review #1,185: Bro-Bro & G-Thang "Louisianamals #TeamDumway (The Mixtape) (Hosted by DJ Chill)"

Reviewed on 9.18.2012 (Review #1,185)

My 5th review for today iz Jazzy Records’ Bro-Bro & G-Thang Louisianamals #TeamDumway (The Mixtape) (Hosted by DJ Chill)! Looks like there’s a hell of a lot on here! However, why couldn’t it just be an album? Why does everyone just release nothin’ but freakin’ “mixtapes”? :( Start Time: 11:59 PM | End Time: 1:21 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro
>>> Sounds like random blah blah, like on some Aftermath-type shit… My Rating: N/A

02. “Back 2 Back”
Repeat song? My Current Rating: 4.6

03. “Re-Up” Feat. Fridgerator
J Buc doin’ tha beat and Fridgerator on tha feature! Lookin’ forward to hearin’ tha new feature!! >>> Oh, it’s mixed like a mixtape… J Buc wit a Young Jeezy sample? Neva used ta any samples in his production… Either way, sounds pretty gutta, like he had a splash of Young Jeezy’s production team on his side! LOL, my rappin’ granny’s cell-phone goin’ off? Oh, it’s tha song, lol! LOL @ all tha drug shit from Bro-Bro on tha 1st verse; always wondered where tha interest in trappin’ comes from? Great verse, though; Bro, you have such a great voice fa dis shit! Tha 2nd verse sounds like a nice preacher (Fridgerator?); great advice and mission-makin’ verse! My Rating: 4.5

04. “It’s Dum Round Here”
Lil’ Cal doin’ tha beat, this time; hope it’s good wit tha both of y’all on it! >>> “R.I.P. Nu$$ie”? How ‘bout an R.I.P. to Big Fancy? Good hook; I guess all that “yeah” shit iz a quote? G-Thang sounds pretty good on tha 1st verse, comin’ through nice on this Cal beat. Good shit comin’ from Bro-Bro on tha 2nd verse, wit this gangsta shit! Guess talkin’ ‘bout Big Fancy’s boring? My Rating: 4.4

05. “Stuntin’ On ‘Em”
Repeat song + there’s not a “g”; it’s an apostrophe. My Current Rating: 4.6

06. “Fist Box” Feat. Mouse
This looks really anticipatin’!! Mouse on tha track and feature!!! >>> Hook sounds good; beat’s pretty nice, too… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, and you can’t fail wit what you want to prove to these people! Anotha verse from Bro-Bro? Thought I’d hear a Mouse verse, but this iz still good, too… Ahh, no Mouse, since G-Thang’s comin’ through pretty quick on tha 3rd verse. He sounds good ta blend in wit this; all about them weapons of choice! My Rating: 4.5

07. “Keep It Real”
Big Josh doin’ tha beat; new song? >>> Of course, can’t fail wit a song about keepin’ “it real!” Good job neva bein’ a loser, on tha 1st verse! G-Thang’s comin’ through wit his neutral style on tha 2nd verse, and tha lyrics seem to be better than how I feel about tha verse… My Rating: 4.3

08. “Hollin’ Bow”
Tyree Neal on tha beat; let’s “bow” ‘til we fall asleep, lol! >>> Lil’ Cal beat? Error on tha back cover? Gotta trust tha actual song than tha back cover this time, lol! New “bow” sample, or iz dat Beezy Bird’s “bow” sped up? I have a feelin’ it’s a new sample… Tha hook (and this whole joint) seems to be “bow”ful, at its finest! Sounds like it’s a G-Thang solo joint, here; really great, although I could’ve pictured Bro-Bro all ova this joint! My Rating: 4.2

09. “Police” Feat. Nu$$ie
Ooh, a new Nu$$ie feature? Of course, I had this CD fuckin’ one week b4 Nu$$’s birthday (this year), and I could’ve aired it on my show. Oh, when college doesn’t stop kickin’ you in tha ass! :( But, I’ll still radio-edit it, despite not having a show anymore; you know me! Big Josh on tha beat! >>> Beat’s a lil’ quiet and okay, for a start. Tha hook sounds entertainin’ wit Bro-Bro doin’ tha damn thang wit his character! B.O.P.: Beware of Police!! Tha 1st verse sounds good, but I think tha Nu$$ie flow similarities, at times (“fuck a million bucks”) should R.I.P.! G-Thang’s on tha 2nd verse, and he sounds good alternatin’ on tha hook than providin’ a verse, here; he’s too decent for me, on this… Nu$$ie sounds pretty good on tha 3rd verse; it’s about time he said, “Nu$$,” lol. Once again, thumbs up fa tha character, and “poppin’ [her] in them titties!” My Rating: 4.4

10. “Dummy (Remix)” Feat. Lil’ Buck
This iz a Lil’ Buck song featuring tha both of y’all, produced by E.P.; lookin’ forward, especially since them at Ruff-N-Rugged Ent. do great business wit me! >>> Yea, this an official collaboration of tha Lil’ Buck/Ruff-N-Rugged Ent. people I know! If that’s Buck on tha 1st verse, he sounds good on tha flow! Bro, you said, “Remix,” in tha beginning? Then, I’ll make sure to note that this iz a “remix.” Hook sounds simple, but sounds great on this beat… G-Thang on tha 2nd verse? Nice representin’ goin’ on wit this track, here, “dummy” style! Yay, Bro-Bro on tha 3rd verse, and I bet anyone can tickle him to tha max, lol! Anything’ll start him up!! My Rating: 4.4

½time: Very good CD collaboration project between tha two of y’all; gotta luv tha features and production!! Keep up tha great work; 4.4-rated CD, currently!!!!

11. “Make Me Spend Money” Feat. Level & Foxx
Was gonna doubt this title ‘til I saw tha features and my fuckin’ boy, J Buc on tha beat!!! >>> Gotta luv this hook and beginning!! I bet anyone’ll kiss Level ‘cause of how fuckin’ great he iz!!! Oh, if only Level can meet Meital Dohan; Level then’ll be like, “yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea!!!,” lol! Good shit from Bro-Bro on tha 1st verse, neva givin’ up wit his tight ass!! Level doin’ a nice job wit his character on tha 2nd verse; attitude, flow, and vibe on lock, 100%! Him and his automatic-soundin’ rhymes, too; sounds like he can neva fail, but failing sometimes makes song topics better… Still, I rather this title be 100% dedicated to me; when will people “spend money on [me]”? Of course, can’t deny Foxx’s great delivery on tha 3rd verse; he always has energetic rhymes on lock, as well as some nice explicit shit, too! My Rating: 4.8

12. “Micheal Jackson” Feat. Da Taliban
Spelling error on Jackson’s name, but I don’t think I’m gonna look forward to this; Tyree Neal production. >>> Well, tha beat start sounds hot; hope it’s not a dancin’ song or somethin’… What’s “K.O.O.K.K.O.”? Iz it a long version of a “K.O.”? Well, this definitely iz on some hot-ass, gangsta-ass shit!! Tha 1st verse sounds pretty nice from this Taliban dude; y’all definitely holdin’ BR down in a nice way, fa tha streetz! Keepin’ tha Taliban shit comin’ along wit tha 2nd verse, and it’s anotha plus wit this successful “K.O.”-type shit! Hearin’ tha hook once again, and it’s pretty entertainin’ wit not “[playin’] wit [dem] lil’ boyz!” Got G-Thang on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit a lil’ betta-than-usual-type shit, here! My Rating: 4.6

13. “Clean Up” Feat. Lil’ Cal
No producer listed? Could it be Lil’ Cal—neva mind, lemme hear… >>> Of course, Lil’ Cal on tha beat; I wasn’t totally fooled! Beat sounds pretty smooth for a start, here; sounds like a good hook that I can relate to, in a way. I feel like I’m cleanin’ “up” tha things I’ve been behind in. It’s like, why’d I do all those free offers back in shitty ’09 & ‘10/Nu$$ie-Dead times? Tha 1st verse iz… “child support”? Ugh, bad parenting choice? Okay rhymes for me… LOL, “2011,” Bro-Bro? Not bad wit comin’ through on tha 2nd verse wit this; where was Lil’ Cal? Maybe, he was only tha production credits? My Rating: 4.1

14. “Jumpin’ 2 Da Ceiling” Feat. Savage
Savage!!!!! He produced it, too!!!!! >>> Yes, tha vibe’s here; time ta “Get Loose Wit It”, like he says!! Savage iz one of those dudes that always makes me feel like Nu$$ie’s still alive, wit his tracks!!! Good job wit tha hook, Bro; you already know how ta handle a Savage-produced track!! Almost soundin’ like Webbie’s flow on “My People” on tha 1st verse, Bro, but can’t deny it, lol!! Got G-Thang on tha 2nd verse, and I’m feelin’ how he comin’ through on this shit; it almost reminds me of how Max Minelli was comin’ through on them Savage-produced tracks! Whoo! Savage comin’ through on tha 3rd verse, and he’s got err-thang on lock!! Can’t deny dat damn Savage!!! Also, exclusively, gotta give it up to Savage! He was my 2nd most-played artist on my radio show wit EXACTLY 100x played (songs & features)! Who was #1? I wanted it to be Savage, but I don’t think Sav’ll mind who was #1… *Tears* …I think there’s a reason why #1 was #1… (Stay tuned) My Rating: 4.8

15. “Moving Dat” Feat. Black Panther
Classic-lookin’ feature wit this Big Josh beat; really lookin’ forward!!! >>> Whoo, anotha jam, here!! Tha consistentness doesn’t stop!!!!! Tha hook’s pretty hot; definitely some hot-ass shit!! Good job wit tha 1st verse, Bro-Bro; you already know when it comes ta pleasin’ these hoes!! G-Thang’s comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, and he enjoyin’ this shit a whole lot, too; keep up tha great work! Black Panther’s on tha 3rd verse, and you already know this classic vibe’s here; gotta give him a big plus fa comin’ through wit this shit! Really exposin’ himself a hell of a lot to these hoes! My Rating: 4.7

16. “Beat Yo Azz Up” Feat. T-Lo
Anotha classic-lookin’ feature wit anotha Big Josh beat; definitely lookin’ forward!!!!! >>> Sounds like a sequel to tha previous joint, in a fightin’ perspective; gotta luv tha hook! Yes, Bro-Bro on tha 1st verse, and he’s, like, a bulldozer to tha parking lot! Ahh, just like Nu$$ie dyin’, I don’t think I should use tha word “bulldozer” ‘cause they’re bulldozin’ my rappin’ granny’s mom’s Florida home area, next year! :( I first went there during 2008 (oh, when Nu$$ was alive)! But, I’m glad you can scare many people, Bro-Bro! Got tha 2nd verse from T-Lo, here, and it sounds like he’s surrounded by Level’s “yea, yea, yea” sample? Sounds good (and random), and you already know wit T-Lo: He really holds tha Boot down at all times!! Get a Facebook and/or Twitter already!! Then again, T-Lo not havin’ both makes him more anticipatin’ for us listeners that are not in tha 225? Sure does for me! G-Thang’s on tha 3rd verse, and a lot of “retarded,” dumb shit goin’ on, here; props fa makin’ this jam continue ta jam! My Rating: 4.6

17. “Bitch Niggaz Can’t Stand Me” Feat. Nu$$ie & Puppy
This looks anticipatin’! Unfortunately, tha DatPiff pic of tha back cover cut tha feature off. :( But hopefully, they’ll have a tag… >>> Fuckin’ EQ!!! J One of Nu$$ie’s funny sampled verses? Love when he gets sampled in tha right peoples’ hands! Oh, sounds great wit tha hot weathergirl from tha news station I interned at on my background, right now (previous background was Savage flippin’ tha haterz off—what a nice way ta follow-up Savage)! Here’s Bro-Bro on tha 1st verse, and it’s too Level-y wit tha “In Dat Thang” flow… But, of course, I love it; wit a tight-ass beat from kick-ass EQ, and some kick-ass rappers, here!! Good shit from G on tha 2nd verse; gotta feel how he comin’ through on this shit/beat! Puppy’s on tha 3rd verse, and he wants “tha president”? I actually saw Mitt Romney in Pennsylvania, thanx to tha news station I interned at, on June 16, 2012; nice final event before my birthday! Anyway, nice appearance from Pup; I’ll give him props, here! My Rating: 4.5

18. “If I Want 2”
Lil’ Cal on tha beat, and it’s just tha two of y’all, now! >>> Likin’ tha short length, here; short-and-sweet! Feelin’ tha hook wit tha attitude y’all bringin’ to tha table, always saggin’ on dem bitch-asses at all times!! Good shit, Bro, on tha 1st verse; can’t wait to meet you, one day! G-Thang’s on tha 2nd verse, and he keepin’ this 225 hood shit comin’ along, wit a lil’ bit of “fuckin’,” “2,” lol! My Rating: 4.3

19. “Still ‘Bout Dat Dum Shit” Feat. 1Hitta
Wonder who this Hitta dude iz… Anyway, J Buc beat!! >>> “Hard In The Paint” start? C’mon, get to tha tightness already, and no quotes… Slower vibe, and much longer length… Tha hook sounds good, especially on a street vibe; a lil’ on tha catchy side, G-Thang, as I’m givin’ you props! Tha 1st verse ain’t too bad; not bad, G-Thang, as you holdin’ this gangsta shit down! Tha 2nd verse iz here, and it must be this Hitta dude… Feelin’ how he comin’ through wit this joint wit his voice and character! True, tight gangsta shit! Hope to hear more from him in tha future! Bro on tha 3rd? Naw, it’s G-Thang, and it’s on a U.N.L.V./Boosie song flow… Ehh, a lil’ too quote-y, but it ain’t too bad, overall; nothin’ sky high for tha J Buc ratings, though. My Rating: 4.2

20. “Hurt By Luv” Feat. Jackie Neal
Big Josh beat; I dunno about this one… >>> Another one over five minutes long? I think this should be shorter and saved for an album, not a mixtape… I can see where tha vibe’s comin’ from, here; it actually has a good, down south beat goin’ on, as well as tha sample bein’ above-average for me… Bro-Bro, you’re on tha 1st verse, and these rhymes seem good, anti-bitches style? Interestin’ rhymes on tha 2nd verse from Bro, too, although this iz startin’ to get boring and too slow… Here’s G-Thang on tha 3rd verse, and tha lyrics are better, this time, than catchin’ a vibe off tha verse… My Rating: 3.7

21. “Girl U Making Me Say” Feat. Tyree Neal
Forgot to list tha producer? I bet it’s Tyree Neal, but let’s see how we gon end this… >>> Can’t tell, but I’ll consider it Tyree Neal (my bad for not confirmin’, lol). Tha hook ain’t that bad, but almost sounds like another album cut, instead of a mixtape cut…—ehh, maybe it iz on a mixtape vibe, thanx to this southern vibe. Tha 1st verse iz G-Thang, and it sounds like a smooth way to attract a girl… Mo shit from G-Thang on tha 2nd verse, here, kinda bringin’, like, a Young Bleed feel to this shit, right now; good job. Well, this iz more of a G-Thang solo, since he’s on tha 3rd verse, too; good lyrics, once again, but this iz also gettin’ a lil’ boring for me, since there’s also no Bro-Bro… My Rating: 3.7

Overall: Y’all did such a great job wit this one; nothin’ but consistency tha whole way round!!! Keep up tha great work!! I still think this could’ve been an album than a mixtape; I don’t get how every artist and every CD has to be a “mixtape,” these dayz…
