Review #1,196: Lil' Buck "Do Da Fool (The Mixtape)"

Reviewed on 9.23.2012 (Review #1,196)

Lemme get into anotha review while I’m almost ahead: Ruff-N-Rugged Entertainment’s Lil’ Buck Do Da Fool (The Mixtape); figured I’d discover and review this, since they’ve done great business wit me, recently! Start Time: 11:58 AM | End Time: 12:56 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Roll Call” Feat. Young Soulja
I’m gonna do my best to read these production credits on tha back… Prolly could’ve used a different color, drop shadow, and increased tha tiny size of ‘em… It looks like it’s HeartBeatz? >>> It iz… Hearin’ tha hook right here, and it sounds like you’re representin’ fa tha streetz, here; good job wit tha hook! Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and you’re comin’ through fa tha streetz, here; definitely likin’ this beat wit your rhymes! Sounds like a street jam! Let’s hear this Soulja on tha 2nd verse… Sounds like a relative or close friend of yours? Some mo good shit ta offer fa these BR streetz! Got you on tha 3rd verse, and it’s strictly “beefin’”? I don’t get how people always luv gettin’ into “beefin’”—I’m talkin’ about engagin’ in it! As I’ve been bullied all my life, just treat it as underration. My Rating: 4.4

02. “Duffy” Feat. Max Minelli
LOL @ “Max Pain” as listing his name… Mississippi/Baton Rouge’s Lowkee on tha production, here. >>> Sounds like a good Baton Rouge song and perspective; nice job wit tha hook! Got Max Minelli startin’ off tha 1st verse off, and yes, still on a mission to tha top. I’ll always enjoy this mission, although he should have higher status at all times. Here you are on tha 2nd verse, and I’m likin’ these “flavors” you’re offerin’, here; “Geismar” representin’, to be specific. Keepin’ it goin’ wit you on tha 3rd verse, and more shit ta offer; can’t really say much else… My Rating: 4.3

03. “Good Jug”
Looks like tha same producer… >>> More upbeat-type shit ta offer. Almost looks like a “jug” on tha title, lol, but I know what’s “good,” right here. LOL @ tha “throw it back” shit on tha hook; sounds great ta hear… LOL, you really puttin’ in work on tha 1st verse wit your “big dick” to these ladies. Really, you’re gettin’ it in wit these descriptive lyrics! It’s good to be descriptive; tha more descriptive, tha more interestin’ tha song becomes. I still don’t get how people can instantly get “hoes” like it’s nothin’, as well as all these sexual activities. Anyway, you keepin’ these explicit, entertainin’ rhymes goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, too; thanx for this sex show—oh, sex room scene, I mean, lol! My Rating: 4.4

04. “Dummy” Feat. Bro-Bro & G-Thang
I remember this song from tha Louisianamals CD I recently reviewed; I considered it a remix ‘cause that’s what Bro-Bro said in tha intro. E.P. did tha beat here, and… My Current Rating: 4.4

05. “Ain’t Got Mine” Feat. Ceto
This producer’s name looks kinda chopped up, to where it’s almost censored? Can’t read; will I hear a tag? >>> Heard tha tag, and it’s Q-Red; ouch! Why was I almost blind? *Checks again* Okay, I see #14 has it, too. Anyway, likin’ tha gangsta style bein’ offered on tha hook, once again; can’t deny what you bring to tha table, these P.A.N.s and err-body in-between! Must be Ceto on tha 1st verse (New Orleans’ Ceto?); nice voice fa this shit, and I’m definitely diggin’ tha g-shit he offerin’ to tha table! Here you are on tha 2nd verse, and I love how hard you’re comin’ wit tha rhymes on this beat! Oh, if I can only give feedback on tha beat; my mind knows something’s preventin’ me!! My Rating: 4.5

06. “U Ain’t No Gangsta”
??? >>> Caught tha first two words of their name (“Red Head”?). Anyway, likin’ tha attitude and you talkin’ ‘bout your “learning disability” you have… on tha track. When will rappers mention autism/Asperger’s/autistic shit? Good job provin’ them P.A.N.s wrong on tha hook! “Mutta Gutta wan’ talk shit; bitch, you ain’t ‘bout dat!” Whoa, what happened? I’ll tell you about somethin’ I commented on before, in return! Catchy rhymes comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, too; you really reppin’ for tha hood, here! Even more fuckin’ “up” goin’ on wit tha 3rd verse, like a battle; definitely inta tha perspective of outspoken anger, even though I like Mutta Gutta quite a lot. I neva talked ta him before, but as always, I hope to do business wit all kinds of people… My Rating: 4.5

07. “Get Dat Money”
This one’s Beat Flippa on tha beat; I remember tha commercial I made. Now, lemme review tha whole song. >>> Kinda ehh for tha topic, but I can’t complain ‘cause of great business! You even sound catchy on tha hook, and Beat Flippa does a nice job wit a catchy beat ta offer! You droppin’ some pretty good shit on tha 1st verse; what else can I say? You’re really on your grind; glad you’re one of tha first ones I can agree wit! Reppin’ for some fresh shit on tha 2nd verse, here, wit all kinds of “money!” LOL @ tha “PS3” part ta end tha 2nd verse! Keepin’ this goin’ wit tha 3rd verse, givin’ people “detention” and shit, lol! Then, time ta “lay da bone;” can’t stop Lil’ Buck from bein’ Ruff-N-Rugged, like tha Ent., lol! My Rating: 4.3

08. “Do Da Fool” Feat. Level
E.P. beat; Level feature! >>> Good anticipation in tha beginning; seems like tha intro won’t end, and neither does my anticipation! Tha hook sounds good; not bad, wit a bunch of different topics you offer. You’re on tha 1st verse, and it sounds good on this beat; not much ta say about tha lyrics, but you keepin’ these original-produced jamz comin’! Level’s comin’ through on tha 2nd verse; gotta luv tha “boy” start to tha verse, like he super-interested, lol! Of course, every single lyric outta Level’s mouth’s automatic and typical, but ya always gotta luv his attitude! He’s entertainin’ ta listen to, so I’ll say that he provided an okay verse for you. Here you are on tha 3rd verse, startin’ off wit a “betta not fight” quote, as well as “on tha radio”-type shit, too. Ehh, too many mentions, between quotes and name-drops… A lil’ automatic wit your lyrics, but it ain’t too bad, overall. My Rating: 4.2

½time: Not bad of a CD—oh wait, this CD’s off to a nice start; every single song definitely goes off fa me! A 4.4-rated CD, currently; keep up tha great work!!!!

09. “I Do Me”
??? >>> Didn’t hear a beat tag, but this iz on some nice, laidback-type shit. Rhymes sound good, like you’re paranoid in public, but still keep it outspoken! Nice attitude and perspective on tha hook; gotta “do what tha fuck [you] want!” Tha 2nd verse sounds good from a street dude’s brain… “Deep off in that asshole;” how much further can a dude like you get? LOL, glad you’re “deep off in” these people!!! My Rating: 4.2
EDIT: I think this that Red Head dude on tha beat…

10. “Keep Kickin’”
I like tha “Kickin’ It” title better; I hate multiple titles… Anyway, thanx for wantin’ to have this song on my latest mixtape compilation (my 11th). Can’t see tha producer’s name, and I didn’t recognize tha tag in tha initial beginning… >>> I believe this tha same producer as #06… Anyway, this a better laidback song fa me, especially after takin’ a look at tha music video! Sounds like a fun journey wit a thug like you! Hook’s plain and simple, keepin’ things nice and simple! “It’s 2011;” wouldn’t’ve guessed tha year at first, lol. Nice shit goin’ on wit tha 1st verse, as you’re takin’ a break from all tha bullshit! Either way, I kinda get tired of hearin’ people talk about how people ‘down’ tha person I’m listenin’ to; what happened to dudes praisin’ other dudes? SMH… Got tha 2nd verse here, and it sounds like you’re back ta bein’ angry; no… Great job wit tha verse, but on this kinda joint, I think it’s good to flip your attitude ta calm. My Rating: 4.4

11. “My Lil’ Ones” Feat. Dooda
Lowkee beat? >>> I guess every song’s from “2011”? Anyway, sounds like issues goin’ on wit tha content, here; not bad of a job you got here, on tha 1st verse. Tha hook sounds a lil’ catchy wit how you’re “doin’ this here for [your] lil’ ones.” I guess that Dooda person was on tha intro (tha youngin)? Sounded good for an intro; it’s not like they’re singin’ or somethin’, which would be on some wack shit! “Don’t try ta do what daddy do;” yea, it’s good to be different, but if you know you’re wrong, you’re wrong! Either way, it’s still a good 2nd verse from you, though. My Rating: 4.2

12. “Slow Motion” Feat. Nutritious
??? beat. >>> Nice beat start; caught tha HeartBeatz beat tag! Bet they gon provide anotha slammin’ track fa you, especially since I’m likin’ this beat start! Sounds catchy; nothin’ to make my heart jump, but tha beat’s catchiness doesn’t stop! I like your “slow motion” shit you got goin’ on wit tha 1st verse; more catchy shit. Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, but I don’t think I can agree wit bein’ “on [your] Soulja Slim,” despite tha title! I think he’s a lil’ more grimy and shovel-driven in tha ground when it comes ta his undaground rhymes. But, nice shit you’re providin’ for these ladies. I heard this Nutritious person’s a girl, based off tha intro; let’s see what she does on this 2nd verse… Likin’ her sexual rhymes; entertainin’, as she’s not stoppin’! My Rating: 4.0

13. “Party Don’t Stop”
Can’t see tha producer’s name…; I think it’s tha Red Head dude… >>> It iz tha Red Head dude…; this iz anotha catchy beat start. Sounds like a happy jam; likin’ that there’s no negativity! Let’s hear what you got goin’ on wit tha 1st verse… Ehh, of course, if it’s not negative, it’s automatic, automatic, automatic. Ain’t it lovely to get all these things, easily? I know one of your producers on this CD can get ANY-FUCKIN’-THING HE WANTS ‘cause he’s WHO HE IZ! But, nice job wit stayin’ positive on tha 1st verse! I like what you’re bringin’ on tha 2nd verse, without a “collar!” Sounded like a quick verse; nice job! My Rating: 4.2

14. “No Sleep” Feat. Young Soulja & Beezy Bird
Q-Red… >>> I’d rather have MNDR’s glasses than Kevin Gates and all these geeks with glasses! Beezy Bird “bow” samples goin’ on in tha background; gotta put him in tha feature! At times, I wanna not put him in tha feature, but if that was Kevin Gates, people would be on his freakin’ testicles!!! Plus, I can find each Beezy Bird “bow”-sampled song, easier… Anyway, tha hook sounds pretty nice; really on a non-stop vibe/gangsta feel, here! Glad you’re focused on tha 1st verse; I hope one of these upcomin’ dayz, I have a 24-hour day! I wanted to durin’ 2008, but I don’t know what stopped me… Wit tha 2nd verse, you keepin’ this tight shit comin’ along wit your “gangsta” perspective; can you please stop? No, I’m just playin’, lol! Bet you fell for dat? If you gettin’ “no sleep,” keep your half-assed eyes open as best as you can! Got tha Soulja on tha 3rd verse, and he’s comin’ through wit a nice voice fa dis shit; “fingers wit papercuts” ain’t usually “what’s up,” if only he knew that… But, nice job wit helpin’ your Buck brotha out! My Rating: 4.5

15. “Let’s Ride” Feat. Illea
Hard to see this one, too… >>> Some Red Head on tha beat, but it’s soundin’ like a baby’s cradle? Tha hook’s, like, 70/30 for me. I love tha content wit tha “ride” and “smokin’,” as well as tha slow beat, but I have to get used to these background vocals of Illea… Got tha 1st verse goin’ on, here, and oh, tha “pussy” ride, as you’re ready fa sex. Okay, I’m glad you’re combinin’ different rides, here; hope to continue ta hear about tha car? Then again, I think I was wrong about tha—neva mind, you got two rides goin’ on, here! I think I like that background singin’ on tha hook, now; sounds like such a great “ride!” Tha more “ride” songs, tha betta! That Jagged Edge lead singer-soundin’ Illea’s singin’ on tha 2nd verse, and it sounds pretty good; interestin’ ta have tha balls ta have a singer do a verse, and he’s damn good, too! Usually, I bitch about a five-minute song, but you only got, like, one on this CD, and this iz actually slow, so it fits tha length! Here you are on tha 3rd verse, and you’re back to tha sexual “ride,” lol! Oh, ain’t this entertainin’; you definitely keepin’ my attention up! Wit your rhymes, you sound older than me, but I’m two years older than you!! My Rating: 4.5

16. “They Fought Till The End”
E.P. beat. >>> Tribute song? Should it’ve been at tha end? Oh wait, this iz tha semi-final song… Anyway, good rhymes about this “cancer” patient! My dude, Big Krucial, has “cancer,” and I’m glad he’s still alive (rapper outta New Orleans, LA)! I gon keep supportin’ him ‘cause of his “cancer;” wanna make tha best outta him! Mysterious female on tha hook? I usually don’t go for these kinda hooks and singin’ samples (if it iz a sample), but she sounds catchy; anotha win for you! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and ouch, bad feelings you’re gettin’; must be hard ta write these rhymes down? Shoutin’ out a bunch of people on tha 3rd verse; good that you’re rhymin’ all them together, instead of just shoutin’ ‘em out! My Rating: 4.1

17. “Gunplay”
Endin’ it wit a Beat Flippa beat!! >>> I knew where tha Beat Flippa tag was comin’ in, lol! Anyway, this beat sounds nice and gangsta fa you ta rap on; ooh, this gon be good!! Likin’ your rhymes, here! Tha hook sounds catchy; lovin’ how you keep sayin’, “gunplay!” “Tha dumb way, tha dumb way!! Tha dumb way, tha dumb way!!” You keepin’ this shit goin’ wit tha 2nd verse, too; lots ta offer fa these streetz wit all your perspectives, survivin’ this gangsta life! My Rating: 4.5

Overall: Real nice job done, Buck! I know I denied to review a CD (wait, “mixtape”) you sent me through a Twitter direct message, but I think this iz tha review that should matter! BTW, this sounded more like an album; I hate how everyone has ta call their albums “mixtapes!” But, I’m glad I got ta learn about you through this CD! You sound like one of tha great rappers outta tha Boot; hope you keep doin’ tha damn thang! Shout out ta your boyz at Ruff-N-Rugged Entertainment! Keep tha business up! Hope I can get this CD onto DatPiff, too!
