Review #1,190: Yung Toke "Call Of Duty"

Reviewed on 9.19.2012 (Review #1,190)

Got my 5th review for today: Gorilla Muzik Entertainment’s Yung Toke Call Of Duty! Really lookin’ forward, but why tha “Yung” in tha name, now? Seems like everyone’s goin’ that route? Start Time: 11:59 PM | End Time: 1:08 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Kontraban (Intro)”
Time ta start this thang off!! >>> Sounds good; sounds like you got a young Young Jeezy vibe goin’ on, and it sounds good! I like how you sound like you’re a target on this track; gotta feel tha paranoia! “A victim of 9/11, but I ain’t talkin’ towers;” nice line! Thumbs up for tha “rest in peace lunch meat” part, too! My Rating: 4.5

02. “A Problem”
Correct! >>> Beat sounds good for what you chose to rap on; your rhymes are like good kush! You know you gotta have it, especially 24/7!! LOL @ tha “pussy” smellin’ “like water!” Looks like I was correct wit what tha title’s representin’; glad you’re “a fuckin’ problem,” muthafuckin’ Toke, lol! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; you just don’t fuckin’ stop wit this tight-ass shit, Toke!! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Big Foot”
>>> This shit sounds real great, too! Thumbs up fa this mysterious beat you chose, includin’ tha whole “Big Foot” theme! Fuckin’ luvin’ it, includin’ your whisperin’ on tha hook! Just like tha 1st verse, you’re comin’ through wit some tight-ass shit! Tha 3rd verse sounds great, too; great job thinkin’ of a theme/title like this! A 4th verse, too? Thumbs up fa contributin’ quite a bit, “Big” Toke!! My Rating: 4.9

04. “Bumm”
Thump, lol! Dat kush! >>> I like how you sound real high on tha intro; this gon be about a “bumm” on tha streetz? Tha 1st verse sounds good wit what you’re comin’ through wit! Tha hook sounds real catchy wit tha “ewe” shit; I like how you keep sayin’, “ewe!” I always have said, “ewe,” before and after things, equivalent to sayin’, “lol!” Tha 2nd verse sounds great; likin’ tha descriptive rhymes about someone’s pockets and analyzin’ these “characters!” My Rating: 4.4

05. “Tweakin’” Feat. Yung Renny
Lookin’ forward to tha newbie on tha feature! >>> Almost sounds like Gucci Mane in tha beginning, but I’m likin’ tha “bars” beginning; good start ta what’s gonna sound great! You sound good on tha 1st verse! “Tweakin’” all ova tha place wit yo crazy-ass, Toke; good shit! Hearin’ this 2nd verse, and iz this tha featured artist? Sounds like a close family member or friend of yours? Good shit wit keepin’ this shit up! Oh, here’s tha feature on tha 3rd verse… He sounds like a good reprasentative fa you, Toke! Thumbs up fa tha both of y’all holdin’ it down! My Rating: 4.2

06. “Paper Chasin’” Feat. Kidd, ArJay & Beezy Bird
G-Lane in tha house wit tha features; let’s hear this super collaboration!! >>> Whoa, tha volume went up once you came to start off tha 1st verse! Good, consistent rappin’ goin’ on, here!! Tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse (from tha one of tha dude) sounds nice (was that Kidd?)! Tha hook sounds nice; luvin’ tha whole dark vibe wit all these jointz! Tha 2nd verse iz off to a nice, fast start; I assume this iz that ArJay dude that I neva heard before? LOL, he comes Beezy Bird outta nowhere, on tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse! Likin’ all tha fast raps; they neva stop! My Rating: 4.5

07. “Me & U” Feat. ArJay
>>> For a song that’s a lil’ softer than tha usual shit you spit, I actually am feelin’ this; you got a great vibe goin’ on wit tha hook, beat you chose, and how you are deliverin’ tha 1st verse in a nice way for these ladies!! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty nice, too, wit how you bringin’ this “very special occasion” to tha listeners… females, that iz! What’s wit all tha silence at tha end? My Rating: 4.3

08. “Madd” Feat. Beezy Bird
Anotha Beezy Bird feature! >>> Confirmed Sims production. Beat sounds like a nice, non-stop beat sound; hot shit, here! Tha hook sounds pretty nice wit them dumb-ass “madd” dudes! Nice 1st verse; you ain’t stoppin’ wit these tight rhymes! Glad ta hear more Beezy Bird on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit a nice, rapid flow, combined wit his great style of doin’ it big! Hearin’ you on tha 3rd verse, and I like how you combinin’ all kinds of topics, from gangsta ta what you can offer ta these ladies! My Rating: 4.4

½time: Doin’ it B.I.G., Toke!! A 4.5-rated CD, currently, and there’s a lot ta offer wit this mixtape!! Glad you ain’t goin’ soft on any of these jointz!!!!!

09. “Work”
Yezzir! >>> Sounds good; great “work” anthem and you doin’ a nice job rappin’ ova this beat! LOL @ you “eatin’ Cherrios,” and how you also “gon move these Cherrios;” great combo of “Cherrios!” Tha 2nd verse goes real hard, too; you ain’t close ta stoppin’ wit anything, Mr. Toke!! My Rating: 4.4

10. “Josh O.G. Lampton”
Who dis? >>> Not bad wit tha beat you’re rappin’ on, here; great rhymes fa tryin’ ta calm down when it comes ta dealin’ wit deaths. At least you don’t sound boring, here, and prove some of your addiction-type things you’re rappin’, here. Nice rhymes in tha 2nd verse, too; too bad they didn’t wanna “go ta class.” Here I am, wit a Master’s Degree in Production; gotta luv it! My Rating: 4.1

11. “Get@Me”
>>> Very hot beat start you chose; good ears! Good rhymes in tha 1st verse; doesn’t get mo gangsta than this fa tha 2-to-tha-2-to-tha-5, lol! Tha 2nd verse has even more ta offer wit killin’ ‘em wit your kick-ass rhymes! Rhymes are definitely official!! Hope that Ace (“Lil’ Nate”) dude gets outta jail, real soon!! Didn’t think he was still in there! My Rating: 4.7

12. “My Bucket”
>>> Anotha good ear for tha beats; sounds like this one’s gonna be goo—yea, likin’ this hook wit tha “ridin’ ‘round in my bucket” shit! What a great hook wit how you comin’ through wit your “bucket!” Tha 1st verse sounds pretty tight wit how you’re always stayin’ focused!! Looks like you gon have a nice future ahead of you, as one! You’re not a featured artist anymore; glad you makin’ some CDs!! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty nice; keep this shit up!! What else can I say?! Tha 3rd verse continues ta keep this shit up; this iz a perfect example of a “money” song that’s not bullshitty and not boring! You keep tha vibe up, and don’t sound like all tha mainstream rappers! I had a feelin’ dat was Butla at tha end; nice check-in! My Rating: 4.7

13. “Not Kongruent”
>>> Anotha good ear for random beats; keep this dark, street shit up!! Good job on tha tight hook, once again! Tha 1st verse has that great attitude from you, once again! On other peoples’ mixtapes, I’d consider this that typical flow that sounds like Rick Ross or Lil’ Wayne. However, wit you, you keep it entertainin’, and I can’t help but ta continuously feel it! Nice job wit how you comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, too, straight killin’ it!! My Rating: 4.3

14. “Ol’ School”
>>> Nice organ in tha beginning; great ear for beats!! Lovin’ tha southern vibe you’re bringin’ to tha table, here! Definitely providin’ a feel-good vibe to those in tha streetz, tha south, and more your toked-ass has ta offer, lol! Tha 2nd verse sounds good wit your killa rhymes, once again; not even close ta complainin’, here!! Tha 3rd verse sounds good wit all this anti-“driver” shit, lol! Toketacular!! My Rating: 4.4

15. “Hoola Hoop”
>>> Wasn’t sure what ta expect wit tha beginning, but you still keepin’ that hot shit comin’ along. Tha 1st verse iz good wit what you spittin’; tha hook (whateva it iz) sounds good fa how you wanna get dizzy, lol. Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; as long as shit’s comin’ from your mouth, then everything’s all good!! My Rating: 4.0

16. “1st 48‘em”
>>> Interestin’ title, and how you comin’ through wit tha double voice on tha hook! Sounds like dat Jeezy style like how you came through on tha “1st” joint, on here. Pretty grimy for tha lyrical content on tha 2nd verse; love your dark vibe!!! Good part about tha “T-shirt” shit; that’s gutta! My Rating: 4.2

17. “P.O.M.E.”
Endin’ it with… >>> Oh, “Product of My Environment” for what tha title stands for; sounds like a regular, random internet-type rap song for tha hook, as it’s off to a decent start… Tha 2nd verse has some good shit ta offer, too; glad you keepin’ dat mean mug on your face, 24/7! Catchy shit goin’ on wit tha 3rd verse, too; oh, you’re dangerous, Toke, lol! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Definitely some kick-ass shit from dat boy Toke!!! You definitely did a nice job handlin’ these beats, in a gangsta/hood way!!! Keep up tha great work and keep your eye on tha music!!!
