Review #1,187: DJ Wookee Presents "Crook III"

Reviewed on 9.19.2012 (Review #1,187)

Keepin’ tha reviewz goin’, I have a Crook Muzik Music Group presentation next: DJ Wookee Presents Crook III. Start Time: 11:19 AM | End Time: 11:37 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Zoe Realla “Goodnight (Intro)”
Glad tha artists are listed this time, on tha tracks, unlike tha previous release! Lookin’ forward to hearin’ anotha song from Zoe, fuckin’ five years later!! >>> Zoe still sounds good, here; feelin’ his street shit in a great way, here! I can picture a dark night wit what he’s rappin’ about, and that’s what I gotta luv about tha 225!!! Sounds more like a freestyle than a song, and I’m likin’ how he keeps goin’ and goin’… and goin’ and goin’… and, I like that fast part ‘round 2:10! K-K-Keep it goin’!!! Finally found him on Facebook! Zoe Realla! Zoe Realla! My Rating: 4.4

02. Lee Banks Feat. B N.I.C.E. “So High”
No need to put tha French Montana mainstream artist in tha ID… >>> Sounds too jacked… Tha 1st verse almost sounded jacked, at first; Lee Banks’ on tha 2nd verse, and I’m likin’ what he spittin’, here, “bustin’ through traffic.” My Rating: 3.6

03. Dae~Dae Feat. Dino Danja & Young B “A Simple Question”
Glad Dae~Dae’s gettin’ some more exposure. >>> Blah blah, Wookee, wit tha “hoes” intro… That’s Dae~Dae on tha 1st verse? Really doesn’t sound like it; then again, we’re all gettin’ older. Almost sounds like a ‘90s rapper on tha hook; good, interestin’ shit. Dino on tha 2nd verse? Nice “cheddar chase” mission they’re deliverin’ on tha 2nd verse! Interestin’ turn-out, once again, wit tha unexpected, grown voice! Young B on tha 3rd verse (can tell ‘cause he doesn’t sound like either one of them), and he sounds like a good collaborator; nice joint, here! Y’all know how ta make a catchy song fa tha women, unlike some of tha wack shit I reviewed, recently! My Rating: 4.3

04. Clever Kev “Burn”
>>> Beat sounds like a dark neighborhood; nice choice, and tha rappin’ sounds good, too! Only 1:52 on tha length? Perfect length for a mixtape! My Rating: 4.3

05. Kizzle & Big Yak “Late Night”
>>> I dunno about tha C-Loc “Gobble Gobble” sample, here; I guess it’s betta for an unknown artist like y’all…? Anyway, tha 1st verse sounds good; tha 2nd verse has a good voice ta hold this shit down! They sound like a smart, 30+-year-old, doin’ tha damn thang. My Rating: 4.2

½time: Sounds like a nice mixtape compilation, so far; good job, y’all! A 4.2-rated CD, currently!!

06. Kizzle Feat. Foppe “Money Shit”
>>> Not into this content about “money;” can’t picture a female singin’ a hook about “money,” too, so I’m not too into this… I’d rather this be two males makin’ a wack song about “money,” but overall, it ain’t too bad for a laidback joint. Then again, jacked hook? I assume Foppe’s tha male on tha 2nd verse? Ahh, hooks can make things confusing! My Rating: 3.5

07. Kizzle “Can’t Live”
What’s wit all tha Kizzle songs? >>> Good thing this iz short; nice and quick, here. My Rating: 3.5

08. Young Ready “Realist”
>>> Young Ready shouted out “Meek Mill”? Why couldn’t he do that four years ago, when I knew who he was? SMH @ bein’ behind! Yea, way before sendin’ me tha letter, which I got Young Ready’s letter from jail 4 years and a day ago; classic/top Young Ready moment for me!! Anyway, tha hook sounds like Drake; not feelin’ tha soundin’-like-an-inserted-hook hook wit some gay-ass a-tune on it and “money;” horrible threat!!! That’ll cost this song, sadly! I like Young Ready’s attitude, here, on this beat, though. My Rating: 2.4

09. Kizzle “Stalley”
>>> Anotha short song, luckily. I like tha “sicker than a door handle in a doctor’s office” part, but this sounds too soft for rappin’. My Rating: 3.6

10. Kizzle Feat. B N.I.C.E. “Rather Die Young”
>>> Why a tag in tha beginning? Ugh, this stupid generation! Not really into tha sample goin’ on, here, wit tha title, but it sounds like an okay anthem. Rhymes ain’t too bad, here, but why iz this almost 4.5 minutes? What happened to tha under-one-minute songs? My Rating: 3.4

11. Dae~Dae Feat. Young B “Pop It On Me”
Bonus. >>> Beat sounds decent, but sounds betta once Dae hits tha mic! Feelin’ tha different voice, once again! Young B sounds good, too! Wow, 2 for 2 wit Dae and these jointz about women/sex? He knows what ta do wit dat pussy, easily! No negative comments from me on both songs, so you know what it iz!! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Where was Richkidd (Problem Child / Lil’) Junior? Anyway, nice job for a short mixtape compilation! Keep recruitin’ people for mixtape compilations!
