Review #1,597: Byrd "Hate Me Cuz U Luv Me"

Reviewed on 11.14.2016 (Review #1,597)

Here comes anotha review! Almost at 1,600 reviewz, overall! Byrd Hate Me Cuz U Luv Me, released last year on Square Bizness Only & Road Runners; this was produced by B-Real (or, was it tha actual song, which I see here?)!! Start Time: 7:30 PM | End Time: 7:47 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Gettin’ To The Paper” feat. Young Greatness
Not anticipatin’ tha feature or this title… >>> Sounds like a pretty serious beat intro, here… As you say, “This iz a Q-Red beat;” nice! Thought this CD was produced by B-Real, since that’s what it says on tha cover of this CD. However, I guess it’s just tha song, which iz up next…? Hearin’ tha hook and even tho this shit really ain’t fa me, I have ta say, good anthemic shit! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and you spittin’ some jammin’ shit, here; nice! Greatness on tha 2nd verse and ehh, he random; I don’t fuck wit his “Moolah” bullshit—ugh! He said, “Moolah,” when I wrote, “Moolah,” smh! My Rating: 3.7

02. “Hate Me Cuz U Luv Me”
B-Real beat, if so? >>> I luv how you had to give him a shout out in tha beginning, vs. tha previous CD that he mysteriously appeared… Ugh!! His beat sounds are gettin’ to me!! Too bad we live in a fantasy world of talking!! Feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha 1st verse! I like how this B-Real beat sounds a lil’ like Jeezy material or somethin’; good shit fa what’s undaground! I know tha title says, “Hate Me Cuz You Love”, but I just gon go with tha front cover and title it, “Hate Me Cuz U Luv Me”! With that bein’ said, tha hook’s pretty catchy. I know there have been better B-Real tracks out there, but this still has its quality! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s soundin’ like you holdin’ your top down; nice! Gotta top an abandoned water tower, right? That’s tha feelin’ I get when I hear shit like this, such as you holdin’ it down! My Rating: 4.2

03. “On Everything”
>>> Heh! Anotha B-Real beat! Two-play! I bet this one gon be betta! Sounds like playin’ dice or gamblin’ in tha beginning, here… I think I might’ve liked tha previous B-Real beat betta. This still has a mainstream feel to it and it loses its Baton Rouge/Louisiana touches… Hearin’ tha hook and it ain’t too bad; decent… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ good; nothin’ much ta say… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here, even tho I’ve heard better from you… To me, most of this sounds kinda random… My Rating: 3.7

½time: So far, not too bad with tha B-Real & Q-Red-produced tracks… A 3.9-rated CD, currently; leggo!

04. “Litework” feat. Kevin Gates
Ehh, ahh, lol! Q-Red did tha beat… My Current Rating: 4.3

05. “Head Down”
Q-Red beat; you kept my top-rated on tha Possession With Intent review! My Current Rating: 4.4

06. “Don’t Get It Twisted” feat. Hot Boy Turk & B-Real
>>> First thing I said when I heard tha voice in tha beginning was, “Fuck that hater at my job!!!” B-Real on tha hook!!! He not credited but I love when he comes through as a surprise!! Excellent with how it sounds, EXCEPT when he mentions, “A nigga got his cash up!” You on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through wit some nice shit! Definitely nice! This beat’s definitely jammin’ as fuck, too! Prolly a B-Real beat, since he on tha hook! Hearin’ Turk on tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice; gutta shit, here! Seems like it’s short, but it’s definitely fulla sweetness!! This sounds much betta fa a B-Real track than those two otha tracks from this CD! My Rating: 4.5

07. “Clutchin’” feat. Bankroll Fresh & Scotty Cain
Teamed up with Fresh before he died… >>> Endin’ it with a Q-Red beat; sounds like it gon be good! Nice job with tha hook, here, holdin’ shit down, “100!” Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and you got this G-shit on lock, here; dumb shit! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and, again, why Scotty Cain ahead of tha features? If Bankroll died, I bet he woulda automatically been past Scotty on tha feature, but tha uploader ain’t even believe in Bankroll, at tha time! With that bein’ said, it sounds like a nice feature fa me barely hearin’ him…; good shit… Now, endin’ it with Scotty on tha 3rd verse and it sounds good, too; nice set of features! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: No bullshit, here, luckily! Hated all that auto-tune on tha previous CD! For a short CD, it was definitely worth it! Only things that knocked down tha rating was tha money-like rhymes, this time!
