Review #1,531: Da 187 Klick "Who'z N Da House?"

Reviewed on 9.22.2016 (Review #1,531)

Got anotha review today! Took a lil’ intermission, earlier, after I was hangin’ wit my patnaz, explorin’ urban areas & shit. It’s weird ‘cause tha other day, I asked my boy’s uncle, who’s a blood, “How old you iz?” He was like, “32.” I’m thinkin’, “Wow, I’m only four years younger than this dude’s uncle?” Then, today, I’m hangin’ wit one dude I work with, who’s 19 & their cousin, who’s 16. I said, “How old’s your mom?” He said, “38.” It’s like, wow, I’m only a decade younger than a mom! Before ya know it, I’ll be their mom’s age when I hang wit younger people in tha future, lol… But, here comes Da 187 Klick Who’z N Da House?, released in 1994 on Terrible T Records & produced by Mr. 187! Start Time: 9:00 PM | End Time: 9:49 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Intro / Rat-Tat-Tat”
Bring it on!! >>> Definitely feelin’ tha energy, here; nice job wit tha 1st verse! Tha hook’s pretty nice wit this gangsta shit; good shit! Here comes tha 2nd verse and I’m definitely diggin’ tha faster-flowin’ gangsta shit, here! Feelin’ tha 3rd verse, too; this whole joint flows through nicely! Nice gangsta shit bein’ delivered on tha 4th verse, too! Gangsta, gangsta, gangsta at all times!! My Rating: 4.5

02. “Step N 2 Da Slumz!”
It felt like I was in “da slumz,” earlier, when I visited an old, burned sanatarium! >>> Feelin’ tha funky beat in tha background, here, includin’ tha quietly-delivered G-shit on tha 1st verse! Tha hook’s short but sweet; can’t deny it… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ catchy ta hear wit tha “afro,” lol. My Rating: 4.3

03. “Gangsta Glide”
>>> A singin’ hook, here; sounds nice ta hear! Beat’s nice with those drums and tha 1st verse has that life-of-a-G-like presence! Good shit comin’ outta tha 2nd verse, here! Definitely feelin’ tha “gangsta” vibe in tha voice, here! Good “gangsta” joint wit a smooth hook! My Rating: 4.4

04. “Niggaz In The Hood”
>>> Y’all have dat bounce vibe in y’all vocals, here; catchy, especially since this on a gangsta tip! Good shit on tha 1st verse, here, slowly bringin’ tha vibe to tha table, along with tha hook… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ great; definitely feelin’ this regular gangsta voice! Here comes tha 3rd verse and it sounds like y’all jammin’ in a paranoid-driven scene! Good shit! “Then, I got an idea;” definitely feelin’ this flow! Excellent! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Straight Gangsta”
>>> A G-Funk-soundin’ beat start, here; let’s see how it progresses… Tha hook sounds kinda catchy wit all these “gangsta”-like sampled voices… Tha 1st verse’s pretty crazy wit how tha rhymes flow non-stop! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ good, too; good shit… Rhymes are delivered really fast, here! Reminds me of a Graveyard Soldjas-like joint! Definitely what’s up!! Ooh, anotha dude on tha 2nd verse and it’s definitely official! Y’all continuin’ ta make this joint hot! My Rating: 4.7

06. “Life In The Getto”
Lol, no “H”? >>> Beat sounds nice and catchy with tha sound goin’ through tha beat! Tha 1st verse’s pretty nice; definitely feelin’ tha gangsta vibe at all times! Diggin’ tha random female on tha hook; excellent singin’ about “the getto!” Tha 2nd verse sounds calmer than tha 1st verse, but still keeps it real with these lyrics! Back to that energetic, gangsta-soundin’ vibe wit tha 3rd verse, here! Goes good with a legendary vibe, just like tha 63-year-old Kim Gordon & “Murdered Out”, which iz on Music Choice Indie, right now! Feel tha energy!! But yeah, gotta luv tha grimy vibes! Luv how it fades out with tha chick on tha hook! My Rating: 4.6

07. “Mr. Mr. 187”
>>> Sounds like what could be an interlude? Likin’ how this sounds with tha beat and how y’all have a bounce vibe in y’all vocals, again! Almost thought this was just gon be an interlude but y’all did tha damn thang fa somethin’ quick! My Rating: 4.2

½time: Excellent release fa dem gangstaz in tha south, here! Gotta luv tha energy, tha gangsta vibes & tha beats, even tho most of tha beats are kinda plain/grain-y! A 4.4-rated CD/tape, currently; dope!!

08. “Who’z N Da House?”
Title track, here… >>> Nice lil’ beat, includin’ tha hook… Tha 1st verse has a lotta wildin’ energy!! Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ calmer than tha 1st verse, but iz still dope with how this joint sounds… More energy comin’ outta tha 3rd verse, here, just like tha 1st one…; nice! Gangsta lyrics/content plus energy? Can’t deny what it equals!! Quality!! My Rating: 4.4

09. “Just Gettin’ Funky”
>>> A female on tha 1st verse, here? Sounds good with this energy she has… Tha hook’s just jammin’; that’s all… Continuin’ wit tha female on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit some random rappin’, at times, but still great energy… Even continuin’ wit tha 3rd verse, just doin’ her thang… My Rating: 3.8

10. “Buck WYLD!”
>>> Good intro, here… Energetic, plain beat, here, with energy on tha 1st verse; pretty-good… Nice shit on tha 2nd verse, here! Hearin’ tha “do it, baby, stick it…” part and I thought that was somethin’ Baton Rouge, LA rap group, 3Deep, came up with in 2007…; I thought wrong! My Rating: 4.1

11. “I Luv P’say”
Lol @ “p’say!” >>> Real slow with tha beat, here, and tha vibe’s pretty laidback… Tha beginning sounds slow with this random singin’… I’ono, I liked tha singin’ better on “Gangsta Glide” way betta… Hearin’ tha verses and it’s like, okay…? We got some rappin’ comin’ through, finally, around 2:10 and it ain’t too bad… Tha outro ta this track sounds like it would be tha outro/final song off this tape. However, there’s three tracks left… My Rating: 3.5

12. “We Made That Shit”
>>> A dedication ta all them N.O. dances… Just “do” everythang, lol! My Rating: 4.0

13. “Start Ah Ward Fight”
Yeah!! >>> Bounce-like vocals ta “start” this off; nice vibe! Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ nice ta hear; y’all “don’t give a fuck,” so that’s wassup… Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ catchy ta hear with tha consistent rhymes; good shit! Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, here; it’s all about a party, or betta yet, “ah ward fight!” My Rating: 4.1

14. “187; 2nd Line Jump”
>>> A Mardi Gras-type track ta end this shit off; good shit! Diggin’ tha “pass tha blunt to tha left hand side,” like it was tha “dutchie,” lol! Excellent with how tha Mardi Gras music plays throughout tha background of this! Got some bounce-like vocals ta continue this shit off, too… My Rating: 4.2

Overall: I thought this was an excellent release fa what was some plain-soundin’ production, at times! Tha energy and content definitely reeled me in and kept my interest high! Good shit! Y’all did a great job wit this one; hope y’all had more success! Keep grindin’, if y’all still out there!
