Here
comes anotha review for ya! Da 9er’s Hustler EP, released in 1996 on BUF
Records! Start Time: 4:51 PM | End Time: 5:16 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0
– 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!
I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long
as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and
then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a
song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6
rating, I pretty much really love it,
as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I
hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type
before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything
after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening
to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your
vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’
topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

“Hustlers”
>>>
Bounce vibe in tha vocals, here, even tho tha beat’s kinda plain with some
samples… “My name iz Soulja Slim;” this ain’t tha “Soulja Slim” we know, do we?
I ain’t read anythang about it… Either way, definitely diggin’ tha rhymes and
tha beat y’all samplin’, here! My
Rating: 4.2

“Goose Thang”
! >>> Feelin’ tha G-Funk beat start with those female vocals in tha background… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s pretty nice. Thought this would be a gangsta-like track but it’s soundin’ bounce-y… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty crazy and consistent on tha rhymes, bounce style… And, tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ nice, too… And, tha rest of this held it down, too… My Rating: 4.0

“P-Poppers”
>>>
Beat sounds old-like, like “Paid In Full” or somethin’… Hearin’ tha hook and it
ain’t too bad; this could prolly use a bounce vibe… Hearin’ tha 1st
verse and tha beat’s still a lil’ plain ta rap on… Tha rappin’ good but it
ain’t tha best from what I’ve heard, on this tape… Tha 2nd verse
soundin’ a lil’ betta, here, keepin’ it southern… My Rating: 3.6
04.
“Chronic (Pt. 1)”
A longer track… >>> Even sappier with tha beat, here, with a blues singer in tha beginning? I like that it’s about “chronic” and gettin’ “higher,” but I’m not feelin’ this vibe at all! My Rating: 2.1

“Everyday Weed Head”
Can
it be normal, this time?? >>> Sounds much betta with tha vocal flow
and tha beginning… Tha beat start with tha hi-hats got me excited fa somethin’
but it’s just a regular bounce vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and
it ain’t too bad… I’ono why, but I thought that rhymed nicely: “Smokin’ dat
herb from dat 3rd.” I’m diggin’ how tha near-end sounds like a
“weed” anthem, fa sho! “I’mma keep smokin’ weed until tha day I die! ’96 to
’97, ’98 to ’99;” just tha ‘90s, lol? My
Rating: 4.4
½time: A nice lil’ undaground
release, with tha exception of #04… I’m diggin’ how y’all comin’ through with
tha bounce vibes, even tho I expected more G-shit… It’s still gangsta, but more
in tha beats than bounce… A 3.7-rated tape, so far…; let’s see what’s next!

“Goose Thang (Radio)”
Ain’t
even realize it was a radio edit while I was writin’ tha ½time… See #2 fa tha review!
07.
“P-Poppers (Radio)”
See #3 fa tha review!
08.
“Hustlers”
Just
a repeat song, clean or not? See #1 fa
tha review!
09.
“Chronic (Pt. 2)”
I
can’t imagine… >>> Ugh…! Ta me, this an interlude, but because of tha
singin’, I count it as a track… I like that y’all were “smokin’ when tha school
bell rang,” tho. Was gonna get inta this more toward tha end but when it got to
“Mary Had A Little Lamb” and “Jack & Jill,” I was thinkin’, “Fuck
this!” My Rating: 2.4
10.
“Everyday Weed Head”
Here
we are, again… See #5 fa tha review!
Overall: Ended much quicker than I
expected… A few repeat songs and radio edits ta make this shorter… Anyway,
great job fa a lil’ bounce release, despite me not feelin’ those “Chronic”
tracks/interludes… I thought this was gon be more gangsta in tha beats, but
it’s still not bad… Still, tha “Chronic” shit knocked down tha CD rating 6/10’s
of a point!!
