Review #46: Bigga Rankin & F.A.M.E. "Beware Of F.A.M.E."

Reviewed on 2.04.2008 (Review No. 46)

Watz good C-Coop. It's yo boy Frankie checkin' in. It's finally time for me to review this mixtape. Not officially sure if it's your's, if you're featured on it, but that website that's on your Myspace page goes to this mixtape, so without further or do, here goes my review for Bigga Rankin & F.A.M.E.'s "Beware Of F.A.M.E." mixtape. Start Time: 10:11 PM | Video Game Playing: Quest 64 (for Nintendo 64) (on my computer)

EDIT: I just went on your Myspace (C-Coop's), and I found out that this mixtape iz rapper F.A.M.E.'s (must be your homie or somethin').

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. "RNR Intro"
Looking forward to hearin' tha "Real Nigga Radio Intro"! >>> Oh so it's F.A.M.E.'s mixtape. Now I understand. Let's see how good he iz. My Rating: N/A

02. "It's My Turn"
1st joint, expectin' a banger. Hope I'm right! >>> This iz kinda short. It sounds good so far. My Rating: 3.8

03. "Takin' Pictures (Freestyle)"
I reviewed this back in August 2007 on C-Coop's Myspace page, and I thought it was C-Coop at first ('cause it was tha 1st time I heard C-Coop, so I was wrong all along). This iz what I wrote: Shit… I don't know if this iz true or not, but I think C-Coop or someone that was on his page deleted tha comment or somethin' 'cause I tried findin' it, and it wasn't on his comments. I guess I have to re-review this then. >>> This line caught my attention in a big way: "a nigga talk shit, then I cuttin' out his tounge, then I mailin' to his moms wit his nutz and his lungs" I called that "really vicious" when I reviewed it. Yeah it's a real good freestyle. Definitely feelin' this gangsta style from F.A.M.E.. My Rating: 4.3

04. "F.A.M.E. Speaks"
Let's hear what dude has to say… >>> That was a REAL nice beat behind that. Glad to see you checkin' in. I'm really lookin' forward to hearin' more music from ya! My Rating: N/A

05. "Mean Mugging" Feat. Koon & Hollywood
I don't see this song anywhere… My Rating: N/A
EDIT: I just re-downloaded tha mixtape, and it's not attached. Too bad 'cause it looked like a hot collabo.

06. "Take A Look"
Hopefully it's a good length. I got a High AL for it, and I hope it sounds great! >>> Only 26 seconds in, and I'm feelin' it. Like tha marijuana line in tha hook! Real nice beat. Looks like I'm really lookin' forward to hearin' this!! Really feelin' tha hook everytime I hear it! Great verses too! Shit too bad that was short. I was really enjoyin' that. My Rating: 4.5

07. "Keep It 100"
That's what you doin' right now! Keepin' it 100. Let's see how you reveal that in this joint. >>> Yes it's 4 minutes, 6 seconds! Another banger right here! Great beat, great slow hook, and more on tha down-south-gangsta style! Yeah I'm post-poning my World History homework right now just to listen to this mixtape (that ain't due 'til 2:30 PM tomorrow anyway, which I have a 225 minute break in between tomorrow at college). Yeah I don't have to say much about tha rest of tha song. It's jammin' consistantly. My Rating: 4.4

08. "F.A.M.E. Speaks (Landlord Intro)"
Tell them haterz you runnin' thangz and nobody gon stop you, ya dig! But yeah, let's see what you gotta say now. >>> Short, but sweet. Yeah runnin' tha 813 to tha fullest! My Rating: N/A

09. "The Landlord"
Okay lookin' like a good title. I expect some good shit from this (better be)!! High AL! >>> Decent so far… Hook iz pretty tight. I don't really have much to say about this one. Not much catched on wit me, but ya rhymes definitely good. My Rating: 3.6

10. "Bigga Speaks"
Bigga doin' his thang! He be doin' these "RNR" mixtapes in a real good way 'cause they come out tight. >>> Yeah I heard you dawg. Definitely a "street certified" mixtape right here! My Rating: N/A

11. "As Long As There's You Girl"
Don't know about tha title… Not sure of what to expect… >>> Short song. For some reason, I'm thinkin' of tha smell of kush right now. I guess tha beat just makes me think that way wit tha flowin' and shit. How odd in this song you brought up what I was thinkin' of, lol (wit tha purple haze and tha munchies). Tha song ain't that bad tho. It's better than tha last one slightly. My Rating: 3.7

12. "Hustle Means Hard Work"
Okay an even better title. Hope to expect somethin' good. I got a High AL for some reason, and I hope it pays off! >>> I don't think it's payin' off. Not kinda what I expected. Tha hook iz pretty good, but I'm not really feelin' that beat. Reminds me too much of a 50 Cent type of beat or some shit. It was short no less. My Rating: 2.8

13. JA$ Feat. F.A.M.E. "Wassup!!"
I reviewed a mixtape earlier today, and it had "Wassup" as tha title. It wound up becoming my favorite joint off that mixtape too. This iz tha first feature on tha mixtape, so hopefully it's good! >>> Didn't expect that girl. Tha beat sounds better. Her part was pretty good I guess, but your part sounds better. I guess you make features good when people feature you on a joint. Yeah tha hook iz soundin' good. I like her "wassup!!"'s. My Rating: 3.8

½time: Started off real good, but then kinda went a lil' odd for me. I hope it picks up! I don't know why No. 5 didn't come in tha folder when I downloaded it. I might re-download it to see if it comes in tha folder again… Aight it's downloadin' right now. I finna get a drink real quick.

14. "F.A.M.E. Speaks"
Let's hear what dude has to say right before we get into tha 2nd ½! >>> Nice acronym "Fuck All My Enemies"! Yeah I'm definitely not one of them, but fuck tha haterz anyway! My Rating: N/A

15. "Ain't Nothin' Funny 'Bout My Money"
I saw this on C-Coop's Myspace player. Been wantin' to hear it! I'm prolly wrong, but if I had to guess, I'd say tha hook will have tha sample of C-Coop's "Certified Goon", where it would go like "ain't nothin' funny 'bout my money, jewelz…" High AL! >>> Yeah I was wrong, but this tha same producer as "In The Hood"! Real nice beat during tha hook, and nice hook too! Actually, that quote iz actually what C-Coop said in "Certified Goon" when you say "if you broke, you a joke, ain't nothin' funny 'bout my money." Yeah "light it up like Times Square." This song sounds a lot better than those previous songs. Really likin' that hook a lot, especially that beat! My Rating: 4.3

16. "Is You Fuckin' With Me"
No. 15 was a comeback; I hope No. 16 iz also! I get lots of AL when it comes to No. 16 on CDs/mixtapes, so yeah, title's good enough to give me a High AL! >>> Tha beat reminds me a lil' of a David Banner production, more like "Make 'Em Mad". Tha hook sounded good, and looks like these songs are pickin' up again! Your rhymes are soundin' good too (of course)! Yeah I'm definitely feelin' your rhymes on this! Really was feelin' that 2nd verse. Your line about "Rap movin' to tha south/it gon be here for a while" iz true! As long as there's great dirty south rap music, it'll be here to stay! I FUCKIN' LOVE tha underground dirty south rap music!! My Rating: 4.1

17. "F.A.M.E. Speaks" (http://www.bewareoffame.com)
It's good that you're speakin' a lot. You should've spoken a 1+ minute thing instead of all these 15 second things here and there, but it's all good my dude. Still enjoy what you got to say. >>> I dunno about anything for tha ladies. That site iz just this mixtape, a download link, and if you click tha pic, you can send an e-mail. My Rating: N/A

18. "Thuggin' Appeal"
Looks like a cool type of song according to tha title. I hope I'm right, and hopefully it's 3 consistant songs! >>> Wow smooth intro. I guess that previous skit was tha warning to a female type of joint coming up. Sounds pretty good for a song for tha ladies. Sounds like it could be a single. I like tha "come ride this roller coaster" line. You said it like 3 times in this. If in tha case this becomes a single, it should be tha 2nd single; make tha 1st single somethin' for tha streetz. This had 3 good verses by tha way. My Rating: 3.8

19. "Technology Freestyle" Feat. Colione & Justin Timberlake
Good that it has a feature, but if it's over tha "Ayo Technology" beat, I might lose interest. Let's see… >>> Yup. At least it's just freestylin'! Lol @ tha Timberlake. If this was a full freestyle (like wit "Takin' Pictures"), you should've not had JT on this. F.A.M.E. you did an okay job on this. Colione sounds pretty good on this. Too bad there's not that many bars. Damn that JT, lol. My Rating: 2.4

20. "So FLA"
FLA in tha building! Hopefully it sounds real good, real down south shit (hopefully)! >>> Sorry, not really feelin' that beat, but tha hook was pretty good. This line I like: "if I'm trappin' in tha A tryna get that weight, I'mma keep it so muthafuckin' FLA." Another good line "don't I look like money? Call me Benjamin Franklin." Good that you mentioned "fresh girbauds". I'm rockin' some fresh girbauds right now wit a fresh polo to match it, ya dig. Okay tha beat sounds a lil' better for me, especially during tha hook. That hook real nice. My Rating: 4.0

21. "Bigga Speaks"
Part 2: >>> 50 seconds. Yeah I agree wit what you sayin' homie. My Rating: N/A

22. "Check (Freestyle)"
I hope it's good for another freestyle. >>> Sometimes I think you sound like Stat Quo. Pretty good soundin'. Nothin' really much to say. My Rating: 3.7

23. "F.A.M.E. Speaks"
Lol at all these times you speakin'. I predict this one'll be long like Bigga's last one. >>> Yup, clockin' at 1 minute flat. I thought you was gonna shout out C-Coop, but it's all good. I like that weed/powder connect shout out. My Rating: N/A

24. "F.A.M.E. (Fuck All My Enemies)"
Okay last joint (since tha last one iz tha outro). Expectin' some good, raw shit! It's your self-titled song! High AL! >>> Not bad on tha 1st verse. Really feelin' tha beat during tha hook. That was a hot hook! Around tha 3:12 mark, I like that background vocalizing "fuck all my enemies." It even did it at tha end too. My Rating: 4.1

25. "RNR Outro"
How will this officially end? >>> Props on tha contact info. My Rating: N/A

Overall: End Time: 11:41 PM. Not bad for a complete new-commer for me. My favorite part of tha mixtape was tha beginning, where thangz went crazy. Keep doin' yo thang.
