Watz poppin' it's ya boy Frankie, doin' anotha review. Damn I had one of tha BEST dayz of tha semester today! VERY GOOD day, so I'm DEFINITELY lookin' forward to this CD! Tonight I'm reviewin' Da Ice Boyz "Volume 1" (tha CD). It actually goes wit tha day (how odd) 'cause today I wore all my "ice" to college. Anyway, lemme get into this review. It's late, and I got college tomorrow at 8:00 AM. It might have to be a 2 part review. ½ tonight and ½ tomorrow morning… BTW I think that's a cool name for tha 2 dudes and tha whole "ice" theme iz tight as fuck. Start Time: 11:45 PM | Video Game Playing: Quest 64 (for Nintendo 64) (on my computer)
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. "Intro"
Finna get into it right now! >>> I dunno about tha intro. Just gets me anticipated. My Rating: N/A
02. "Get In Nere"
Let's see tha 1st joint so I can judge these boyz… >>> Cool beat so far. Like tha changin'. Sounds like a cool anthem. Nice start. Feelin' this. This iz a great start to this CD. Gotta love this underground shit (I must've said that at least 10 times already, lol)! My Rating: 4.2
03. "Charge It Up" Feat. Brittney
Uh oh a gurl on a track… What this gon sound like? >>> Lol @ tha start to that hook. I like it. Tha hook iz full of Louisiana slang. A lil' Bone-Thugs 1st verse feel. Tha hook (just like tha other one) iz nice and repetitive (makes it anthemetic). Okay that gurl on tha track iz more on tha crunk side, which makes me like her. I guess before I go to sleep, I must do this to my iPod: "plug it in, charge it up," lmfao! Iz this song supposed to be a dance or somethin'? I like it tho. My Rating: 4.1
04. "Ice Boy Trip"
Good title. I got a High AL. >>> Unexpected dance/trance beat in tha beginning. Lol @ those classics mentioned in tha beginning. Feelin' that. This iz such a creative song right here! A dance/trance beat + singin' a bunch of classics. Lol @ singin' Songs 2 and 3 again. This iz definitely enjoyable. Major plus. My Rating: 4.4
05. "Move Ya Feet"
More dancish music I see… >>> How cool a freestyle type of beat now (not tha Rap freestyle, lol – Tha dance freestyle). There aren't much rhymes in any of these songs. It's mainly more of tha hooks, but it sounds good. Can't complain about any of this. My Rating: 3.8
06. "J-Walking" Feat. LZ
Looks like another dance. I really hope this don't get overloaded wit dance moves/songs now… >>> As soon as I heard tha beat intro, I thought it was gonna be Fatboy Slim "The Rockafeller Stank" in tha background, but it wasn't. I like tha girbauds part in tha 1st verse (near tha end). Doesn't sound like a Rap-dance song, but definitely likin' these dance (not Rap-dance) beats. Too bad that ended too fast. My Rating: 4.0
07. "22's & 24's"
Better be real good. I got a High AL for it 'cause I like these "rims" types of songs. >>> Sounds good. Likin' tha fast beat. Ya'll like your fast beats I see. Of course this joint was jammin' all tha way through. My Rating: 4.2
08. "Rock Da Party"
Ya'll definitely can do that wit these tight danceish beats. >>> Yeah lovin' tha repetitiveness in tha hook. Definitely sum crazy party shit. Good shit. My Rating: 4.0
½time: Aight it's 12:24 AM. Good so far. Different style, and I'm likin' it. I'll be back prolly tomorrow mornin' to finish this. >>> Well I had a lot goin' on during tha morning (and I didn't take my labtop wit me 'cause I expected to hang out wit my dude Jewison, but I didn't see him). Anyway, it's 10:05 PM, and here goes my continuation! Lookin' forward still!
09. "Don't Walk" Feat. Chico
Okay gonna wanna hear this joint right here. >>> Lol @ tha "pocket full of rubbers." Definitely feelin' this nice beat right here. Paused tha track for a second 'cause a "rare song" came on Music Choice Electronica just now, and I wanted to hear it once again. It's a Rap song "Mein Schatzi" by Munk & Princess Superstar. Good shit. Now back to tha track. Still soundin' good. My Rating: 4.1
10. "2 Times (Oh Yeahhh)" Feat. Desmond "Lil' Pokey" Batiste
Looks like it could be a good feature. I almost thought it was Big Pokey for a sec, lol. >>> Expected a different/better hook, but still good. Feelin' tha beat (as always). Nothin' really to say about this. I like it. My Rating: 4.2
11. "Good Juge"
Got a High AL for some reason. Expectin' it to be good! >>> I dunno if I'm gonna like this one. Beat iz kinda plain and tha hook kinda not for me. Didn't meet my expectations, and I'm only 1:02 into tha song. My Rating: 3.2
12. "Better Days" Feat. Landis
Looks like a slow jam. C'mon that previous joint was "slow" enough (rating wise, lol). >>> I dunno, it's an odd mix: fast beat wit it bein' a "real story" type of song… Lol @ that chipmunk in tha background of tha hook. Actually, I'm feelin' tha fast beat now. Can't hate on it. This song iz definitely better than tha previous joint. Like it a lil' more as it's ending. My Rating: 3.8
13. "Mr. Magnificent"
I have a feelin' it gon be "magnificent". I hope I'm right on this one… >>> Tha beat sounds like it has a sample in it, and I really like it. Tha rhymes are definitely real tight on this one. I know I didn't type much, but this joint became my favorite on this CD. Definitely feelin' it. Great hook too! My Rating: 4.7
14. "U Wanna Buck" Feat. Chico & Landis
Got a High AL 'cause that last joint got me in a good mood! >>> Expected a lil' better, but definitely still jammin'. Good hook and good flows. My Rating: 3.9
15. "Bap Jap" Feat. Honey
Lemme see what's up wit this… >>> "Attitude iz clear as a glass." Had to quote that line 'cause it was good. Why that "Somebody's Watching Me" sample in tha hook? I thought that was unnecessary. That just made tha song cheesy. This song was aight to me. Nothin' really caught my attention too much. My Rating: 3.7
Break: I gotta call my rappin' grandma. >>> Aight we had an 18 minute, 26 second conversation, mainly about my version of Fedde Le Grand's "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit" (titled "Put Your Hands Up For Long Island") gettin' its FIRST SPIN on Long Island's Party 105.3 (I made my version November 19, 2006).
16. "We Still Here" Feat. LZ
Got a High AL for No. 16 (and I think this tha last joint on here too)! >>> Like tha type of this hook (where it goes "word, word, word!"; in this case it's "we, still, here!"). Great hook and good song overall. My Rating: 4.3
17. "Big Play (2nd Line)"
Nope this iz tha last joint. >>> Strange/pretty good beat wit a decent hook too. Sounds like Mystikal at tha end. Rhymes are real good (as always). Those 2 boyz, Da Ice Boyz, know how to flow good wit sum real good rhymes. My Rating: 3.9
Overall: End Time: 2.20.2008 @ 11:15 PM. That was a good CD. Nice and jammin'. I liked those dancey beats in tha beginning a lot.
