Kinda stressin’ here… Lots of CDs to review so I just gon continue, regardless of tha stress. Here’s my review for Young James “Focus On Musik”. Start Time: 2:22 PM | End Time: 2:49 PM


Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

>>> A pretty good start ova dis Juvie beat although it gets watered-down once I heard tha word “swag”. My Rating: 3.4


03. “Ride’n Thru Da City”
>>> WTF? 4:50? Can we just keep it on tha 1-2 minute range? Beat’s shitty; don’t think I wanna sit here. Yup, I’m bored. Not dat it’s completely shitty or anything but you gotta keep tha lengths nearly equivalent. Tha 3rd verse sounds like a complete example of what every single rapper wants to do: sound like tha next rapper, smh. My Rating: 2.9


04. “Coach James”
LOL… ROFL, we finna go a sports route? >>> Why does everyone know this beat now? This song was out over six years ago! Doesn’t even fit wit what I expected. Tha flow and lyrics are completely mixed-up. Then, tha ending words had ta do wit sports. My Rating: 1.3


05. “Play’n With Words”
>>> Quality on tha mic iz kinda gross. What iz goin’ on here?!? My Rating: 1.6


06. “Paint Job (Freestyle)”
>>> Yawn… Very boring; could we have different content than girls and swag? C’mon now! My Rating: 1.1


07. Explain Money Is The Object
>>> Oh, a talk break. Even though a gay-ass topic (c’mon wit tha homosexualness), I at least get ta hear what you gotta say, in a high perspective. Gotta luv how you say, “ya dig,” and, “ya heard me”! My Rating: N/A


08. “Money Is The Object”
>>> WTH wit tha quality? Sounds too tight for what’s not. Why would I explore Louisiana music in tha undaground for a subject like dis? My Rating: 2.1


09. “Focus On Musik”
Damn, a 3+ minute song…? >>> Decent approach. My Rating: 2.7

10. “Game Spittas”
>>> Nothin’ to say; decent. My Rating: 2.5


11. “New”
What’s tha “13” in tha title? >>> Or, you mean, “I Love”? It just looks odd on a title of a song. Anyway, I don’t get what’s goin’ on here… My Rating: 1.8


12. Happy Birthday Rell
>>> SMH @ “oh, he 21. I got all tha stripper 1’s;” nice stereotype. I went to tha casino at 21; somethin’ different, you know! My Rating: N/A


13. “Big Brother”
>>> Music sounds weird fa somethin’ I’d expect from a Louisiana artist in tha undaground. Then again, this izn’t Baton Rouge or anything. Tha content at least iz better. Tha hook’s a lil’ cheesy, though. My Rating: 2.8


14. “Testimonial”
>>> Repetitive hook dat sounds annoying. Sounds like random rappin’ once again. My Rating: 1.5


15. “Your Luv”
>>> Damn, I should just skip since tha original song was in tha first 50 seconds, smfh. Not bein’ bothered… My Rating: 1.0


16. “Hustle’n”
Where’s tha “l” in tha title, smh… I should just skip dis ‘cause of dat. >>> I unfortunately ran outta excitement fa dis CD; get better beats ta rap on. Why in tha hell iz this 4.5 minutes long? My Rating: 3.0


17. “Exit My Studio”
>>> Consistent rappin’ but nothin’ ear-appealin’. My Rating: 2.4


18. Outro
>>> LOL, you puttin’ out a DVD? I’d focus on gettin’ some interestin’ shit ta show, first. My Rating: N/A
