Review #787: Curren$y "Jet Files"

Reviewed on 12.28.2010 (Review #787)

Review #10 for today: Curren$y “Jet Files! Start Time: 9:35 PM | End Time: 10:00 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

Source (Where I Got Tha CD From): Google

01. “The Dossier (In & Out)”
Looks like a good title! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ dis… >>> Prolly would’ve expected a better beat but this iz still good. It sounds like you’re spittin’ some interestin’ shit, as you keep thangz on a consistent level. Catchy although I thought this was about smokin’ doulja, lol. My Rating: 3.8

02. “Perfect Time”
>>> Wow, this iz a better-soundin’ beat start! I really like how it came outta nowhere! :tu I really like tha theme, too, wit tha “top-secret shit” as well as tha CD title! Tha hook’s definitely on ‘n’ poppin’; good shit, $y! Feelin’ your rhymes here, too; good shit here to tha fullest!! My Rating: 4.5

03. “On My Way”
>>> Thought I just heard dis but I just hear “On My Plane”, lol. This sounds pretty smooth as far as tha production; definite plus! Tha rappin’s also really consistent, just like tha previous song! What a real nice endin’ to tha 1st verse!! Tha hook’s pretty nice, too; grind, grind, grind! My Rating: 4.3

04. “Smoke N Maintain (In & Out)”
LOL, speakin’ of doulja from before, now, wit anotha “In & Out” title, here’s an official “smoke” song!! >>> Yea, soundin’ good fa a start here; let’s hear what you gon spit! Somethin’ about this’s a lil’ borin’ (not sure if it’s tha flow or tha lyrics) but it’s still pretty good. I do like tha hook but would have expected more “smoke”-type lyrics. My Rating: 4.0

05. “Sleepless In New Orleans”
I like this title ‘cause it looks like my “Sleepless Nights” title, lol. >>> Glad you gave a shout out ta “Wiz Khalifa;” he’s a plus for me, here and there. Tha beat’s pretty good and your rappin’ ain’t bad, either. I dunno what I have ta say ‘bout tha hook… My Rating: 3.7

06. “Stay Up” Feat. Fly.Union
Fly.Union even produced tha beat, too. >>> I’m actually likin’ this beat start. Tha hook’s pretty nice wit tha singin’; reminds me of good Hip-Hop! LOL @ tha “drink a few Shirley Temples” part; I drank two of them at my cousin’s weddin’ and they were good. Definitely a feel-good song here, ya dig? My Rating: 4.4

07. “Tokyo Drift”
Interestin’ title; looks like we finna go to a foreign area! >>> Not bad on tha beat. Once again, this sounds like some pretty good Hip-Hop. Very consistent wit tha rappin’ once again! My Rating: 4.1

½time: A 4.1-rated CD, so far; keep it up!

08. “The Seventies”
>>> I don’t like this kinda production. Well, it sounds a lil’ betta once it kicks in… What’s up wit tha long intros, lol? Tha rappin’ ain’t bad here; sounds like you got tha lyrics on lock! Tha hook sounds pretty nice; I’m likin’ what you bringin’ to tha table… My Rating: 3.8

09. “The Pledge (In & Out)”
LOL, tha 3rd “In & Out” title… >>> Not bad wit tha beat but your rappin’ iz consistent, once again! Afta 1:13, tha beat started kickin’ in, lol. My Rating: 3.9

10. “Burn An Ounce”
Ooh, tight title! >>> Yea, this iz dat good shit (just like as if I was replyin’ ta weed, lol)! Feelin’ tha consistent rappin’; it’s all about tha “smokin’” to tha fullest! My Rating: 4.2

11. “Bring Her Home”
Looks like it gon have some lyrical content ta offer. >>> Well, I like how this iz set up wit tha beat and how you’re rappin’. I thought this would have had ta do wit a lil’ girl that’s homeless, lol. Tha hook sounds pretty nice, too. LOL, time fa a “threesome”! My Rating: 3.9

12. “I’m Just Dope”
Definitely! >>> Ooh, longer length here… Feelin’ tha beat; it flows nice. You sound pretty good wit tha rappin’ and tha content. Tha hook sounds good and I like tha lil’ hidden beat sound in it, too. My Rating: 3.8

13. “Fly Out”
Time ta leave? Well, we got anotha song comin’ up! >>> Ooh, anotha hot beat start!! Good theme ta leave tha plane, lol! Nice lil’ intro and hook; sounds pretty nice! I really like what you’re spittin’ on here; definitely a plus on tha rhymes!! My Rating: 4.4

14. “Living The Life” Feat. Max B & Young Riot
Max B’s song featuring you? Let’s hear dis… >>> Tha length’s almost six minutes long? Kinda slow start but it sounds good on tha hook; Harlem in tha buildin’, lol. Tha verse from Max B ain’t too bad… But, tha hook sounds much catchier, ya dig? Tha 2nd verse must be Young Riot, doin’ his thang. Ooh, “do the Kurt Cobain…;” lol, “blow [tha] brain;” crazy shit! You’re doin’ a nice job havin’ a featured verse, too, $y! This iz a pretty good, smooth song right here, ya dig? My Rating: 4.3

Overall: This turned out ta be better than tha previous CD I just reviewed of yours; keep it up!
